Nothing great and all the 3 dishes that we ordered were average. May be more suited for the Westerners and not Asians. But I like the posters on the walls.

Fabulous old school Vietnamese restaurant serving old school Vietnamese foods - old school meaning -prawn toast! The food was delicious, unpretentious and run by hard-working family. We had spring rolls which had a lot of filling - more filling than pasty, stir fried satay (spelt sate) chicken, beef noodles and large special fried rice. Love the retro deco. Book in advance as the book out quickly.

Very friendly staff, if not a little too hard to flag down sometimes, but mostly they’re lovely and helpful. The food is reliably tasty, they cater really well to vegetarians - being vegetarian I really appreciate that they have a whole seperate menu, with a lot of dishes, that are vegetarian or vegan. But for the omnivores, the menu is very large, and from the feedback of my friends and family who aren’t vego like me, the seafood and meat dishes are, as has been my experience, reliably tasty, with food arriving quickly, very generous portion sizes, and a very affordable dinner out (or takeaway). It’s not the most glamorous interior to dine in, it gives off strong 90s inexpensive restaurant vibes, but it’s kind of a cute quirk I find. I also love reading all the messages and autographs from politicians, to touring artists, to children’s drawings. It’s fun to try to spot different people who’ve sat where you sit now.

Went for dinner with family. We usually have it as takeaway when I visit my aunty. Was 1st time eating in. As always staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is fresh and delicious, while being reasonably priced. I am and remain a repeat customer. Thank you it was fantastic as usual

Went with 2 friends tonight for dinner. Excellent food as always. The only thing wrong tonight was that we noticed the cleanliness of the restaurant wasn't very good. We sat near a powerpoint that looked like it had never been cleaned. The walls really could do with a clean and paint. Love the food so we will be back but please do some cleaning.

Always a pleasure dining out here. Leave it to Mr Tan to suggest the best items or choose from the menu if you prefer. Sexy Squid is always a great choice, as it the chicken with cashews and all their other dishes. Very amusing and interesting comments by various politicians and journos from recent history on laminated plain A4 paper cover the walls and makes for interesting conversation over the excellent meals.

Local Vietnamese diner, low key in aesthetics however focussing their energy into the quality of the food being served. Can’t recommend the Yummy Chicken highly enough, for those caramelised lovers, this dish is everything you’re after. Simple, yet flavoursome. The rice paper rolls are also a nice addition. Cons: They don’t have Pho for those winter nights and can get extremely busy.

Staff: 2/3 stars = one of the three waiters was rude and lied about being able to change tables. The other two were lovely. Food: 1/3 stars = the shrip toast was stake and overdone, the fried rice was bland and used frozen vegs. But the Yummy Beef, was well yummy! Price: 3/3 stars = good value. Entertainment: 3/3 stars = the jokes politicians posted on the walls makes for an interesting read.

Tan's restaurant is so cool. Great food, good prices, the walls are adorned with laminated A4 signed endorsements to Tan's efforts in always making fine cuisine at reasonable prices. Yum !
