Absolutely divine pasta. One of the best meals I've ever had. Lovely interior too, very rustic and pretty cozy.

Food was great & so was the service. A cute little Italian restaurant hidden in Kingston, with its homey rustic feel, this is definitely a place you want to visit. I have been here several times & is does not disappoint, the seafood Siciliana is definitely high on my favourites on the menu. Would definitely recommend.

Randomly stumbled across this pizzeria in Kingston. A bit of a wait as would be expected on a busy Saturday night but when food arrived it was sure to impress. Pizza base was soft, marinara sauce flavorful, and pasta with a chilli hit.

I have about 100 places on the spike that I want to review, but tonight I had one of the most delightful hospitality experiences in recent memory at La Capanna. The bus dropped me off right outside the venue, and I was about to traipse off to my hotel, but spying the decorative statuettes, I decided to tarry for ONE glass of wine. That one glass... and three more, and the pomodoro bruschetta and the salmon pizza later... I loved it all. From the friendly, bubbly wait staff to the really sanely-priced wine range, to the similarly attributed menu, it was a delight. Even for an (ultimately) solo diner. I WILL go back time and again to La Capanna. BQ

Definitely a place that I'll be heading back to on a regular basis. Best described as a cosy Italian restaurant that serves up traditional family Italian food. Certainly the pasta and pizza are great, but there are still more dishes to try out. Great service too.

Came for dinner with friends on Saturday night. We were sat by the window and the summer breeze was delightful. The food arrived quickly despite the restaurant being quite busy. I ordered the mari e monte pasta which was packed full of flavour. The staff were friendly and attentive. Wine was beautiful. We will definitely be back!!

A Touch of Spice We have been to La Capanna many times. The dishes are always excellent and generous, the ingredients fresh. It can get a very busy place of an evening, especially when parliament is sitting. But the staff are always helpful and engaged, the atmosphere is friendly, cosy, the prices very reasonable. Some good Italian wines!

Lovely waiters attending to all your needs. I enjoyed the pasta which was served hot and neatly presented. The people faded away at about 9, and by the look of the crowd, it was a bit past their bedtime. The restaurant has a rustic setting and quite welcoming. I opted to sit outside since it was about 5 degrees cooler outside. The house wine is good and the prices are really on target with the portion sizes. I cannot fault the place and will definitely try out the rather expensive pizza's next time.

Turned up at 630pm with no reservation (reserved cards on every visible table) but staff were very welcoming and found us a table. Wood-fired pizzas were excellent. Bruschetta was fresh and delicious. Saw some pasta dishes go past that made me wish I had a bigger stomach. Kid friendly, lovely evening.

I've been eating at La Capanna for 25 years and the pizzas have always been outstanding. Now they do some very good pasta dishes too. There is a good and very affordable winelist with a good range of Italian wines included. The atmosphere is nicely family-style Italian and staff are friendly and capable.

The venue was cute and the staff were lovely, but unfortunately the food was a bit of a let down. The garlic bread was standard and a bit too buttery. The pasta (I got the salmon spaghetti) had nice flavours but was too oily. The wine list was nice, but limited. That being said, I’d come back to try something else - the salad and tomato-based seafood dishes on other tables looked pretty good!

Wow, this place is terrific! Full, even at 6:45 pm on a Monday night, which is testament to how much the locals love this gem. We have two family (largest size available) pizzas and two glasses of red between four adults, which filled us up. At $80 (including tip) it wasn’t cheap but was definitely worth it for high-quality food and cosy ambience - go the local gem over the pizza chain every time!

Being visitors to Canberra we walked into la Capanna by chance and couldn't have been happier with our choice. Delicious food and friendly staff. We had seafood which was fresh and the sauce was amazing. And the pizza crust was a great starter. The food was so good we went back again the next night as well.

Excellent, dependable place for authentic Italian pizzas and pastas which has a loyal following among South-side residents and office goers. Prices are moderate and the service is excellent. A very cosy venue on a cold winter night! It's licensed too.

Booked for 12 and shared pizzas, pasta and salads. Our group was predominantly Muslim sonno proscuitto or ham and still the pizzas had great variety and the salads were delicious also. Service was super friendly and I was really impressed with the quality of the pizzas especiallybthe mahgeritta and the four cheeses. Excellent value! Will be back soon. Great for big groups.

Consistently amazing pizza over the year I have been going to La Cappana (the supreme and meat lover, in particular). Regardless of if I am dining in or taking away the staff are friendly and attentive. For example, Annieke remembers my name and my drink order.

The service, once I'd got their attention, was pretty good, and the pizza was very nice, but a bit pricier than I would have preferred. On a tight budget I figured I'd order a big one, eat half and take the rest home, but it was small enough that I really felt like eating more than half of it (tasty as it was). Not sure I'll go there again and that price. I was watching a father with his two (10yo) boys, who had the antipasto and then a small pizza each (he had the next size up), and he easily could have spent $80 - too expensive for me.

Had an early dinner here with my partner after a recommendation from a friend who used to come here years ago. The calzone and pizza were both fresh and we shared one of each and had a glass of Chianti and Sangiovese, all up was around $55. Good value for a dine in fresh pizza experience. Looking forward to going back with more people, hopefully they allow BYO...
