Comments of Ramentic Restaurant
P. L.
Ramen was tasty. Waiting time was about 20 minutes or so for dinner.
The egg was served whole and the inside was still a bit cold. Other Japanese restaurants serve them already split.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Car park can be an issue in Braddon.
V. H.
The ramen here is pleasant and inoffensive. However, this means it is very safe and kind of boring. Having lived for some time in Sydney where they are blessed with a wonderful variety of truly excellent ramen offerings, I can’t help but think that there is a lot more room to be more experimental with the menu to have more character. This is especially going to be relevant with new ramen places beginning to open up in Canberra.
T. R.
Wow it was beautiful food as I had Dry Noodles with chicken which on the menu had Pork. The lovey chef has made specially as my request when I can’t have pork! Great customer service and friendly staff also professional hygiene too!💖
J. B.
Ordered the ramentic ramen and spicy ramentic ramen with edamame and gyoxa for starters. I prefer the spicy one as I found the ramentic a bit too porky (but maybe only me). And service is quite slow today, unsure whether its short staffed or something else
N. D.
Love the soup base! Recommend ramentic ramen (I guess it’s signature) love the soup base, tastes so well. Better than a lot of restaurants I had in Sydney.
Y. E.
Glad to see They cut everything finer
Two small pieces of nothing cost me $2. Ouch
Classic. Genuine bone soup
Good hospitality. Quality above average quality.
Sometimes, they didn't control the soup or noodle well. Make it have a fermented bad taste.
As mentioned in other review. Extra noodle service without soup blend the taste.
DO NOT RECOMMEND EXTRA NOODLE.
J. D.
The ramen is tasty but if you’re after a more authentic style ramen then this isn’t it. I’ve found the taste to fluctuating in terms of strength and thickness. The restaurant is cute though, small area with an open kitchen.
T. N.
my first time here and was firstly caught by how tender and succulent that pork belly looked! its a def MUST addition to your bowl - i ordered the Spicy Ramentic - perfect amount of spice for a spicy ramen (its not crazy spicy so dont worry). the pork bone broth was full of umami flavour! and the soy egg was made to perfection! the ramen texture was spot on with my liking! i know some people like firm noodles and some like extra soft... on a scale of 1-5 (1 xsoft, 5xfirm) this prob falls on 2.
the staff provided great service and connected with their guests, and provided both indoor and outdoor seating areas. i arrived during early dinner so it wasnt overly busy then but this is def a must try if you want ramen that transports you to japan!
C. W.
My boyfriend and I love this place! The staff are always so friendly and the food is warm and delicious. We’ve tried pretty much every ramen on the menu and it never disappoints!
Y. J.
It Keeps the original Japanese ramen style, recommend it.
D. N.
We visited this place because of the good reviews.
The ramentic ramen was close to tasteless. I consider myself a big fan of ramen and I didn’t enjoyed this one.
They only have 4 ramen options.
I also ordered a pork bao, which we think at least one ingredient tasted frozen.
M. O.
Utopia, Eden, Shangri-La, Nirvana. All pale in comparison to Ramentic's miso Ramen. The owners are in my will and my kids names will be Miso and Slow cooked pork. Death row inmates get Ramentic delivered internationally. Definitely recommend
K. A.
Tonkatsu style ramen was very nice and light - no problems finishing the whole bowl. I also liked how the cut of pork used for chashu was less fatty which complemented the lighter broth. The chook shoyu was interesting - partner liked it but I thought it tasted a bit too roasty.
L. L.
Friendly staff. Dried ramen is great, the sauce with lotus chips is very tasty and the seaweed salad is yummy. Just there was a very strong alkaline flavor of spicy ramen which I didnt like
B.
Great ramen with rich broth. Tried some tasty entree too. Friendly and quick service. You can sit outside or in.
L. P.
A delicious little ramen stall in the middle of the Canberra CBD. Authentically made ramen, with a casual inner city vibe. With a try.
C. G.
the broth is really good, the spicy pork ramen is the best for sure. It’s walk in but really easy to get a table
J. P.
the chicken ramen is below average. The broth lacked flavour intensity and didn’t add to the dish, the ramen noodles were thin and flavourless they weren’t present to eat at all. A small serving of onion on the side doesn’t count as a topping. Although the chicken was very nice soft, succulent and full of flavour. I think it was over priced for what you get. However in still on my mission to find good ramen in Canberra
W. W.
The best ramen in Canberra! My favourite is their spicy ramentic ramen, I believe it is a tonkotsu based soup mixed with spicy miso paste. It’s creamy without being heavy. The noodle is al dente and filling. Rather pricey, but not more than most restaurants in Canberra.
S. C.
Without a doubt the best ramen in Canberra. Perfect for winter! Cosy little shop with great staff and fast service. I've tried almost everything in the menu and haven't been disappointed or underwhelmed yet!
They sometimes have specials - pictured is the creamy chicken ramen, served with special flavoured egg.
Get in quick and warm your soul!
D. V.
Both regular and spicy are rich in flavour and super tasty, the egg is a must! Being a gyoza addict these were surprisingly delicious and I could have eaten a lot of them. Will be going back
T. C.
Delisshhh, I had the spicy ramantic, so good!!
J. J.
Yummy authentic ramen. Not the best in the world but pretty good for Canberra ramen standards.
N.
Good ramen, nearly as authentic as ramen in Japan!
D. D.
Their ramen used to taste better.
The noodle itself seems have less flavor and thinner . Not sure why.... but The broth is always great .
E. G.
Best ramen in inner Canberra. They've even started selling takeaway boxes so you can recreate the experience in the comfort of your own home.
X. F.
Not bad. But if you are comparing with the real Japanese ramen.. this is not the place you want to go.
S. H.
Ramentic is a tough market. It's good - just not great
G. P. E. T.
Amazing broth. I enjoy the thickness of it and the lotus chips are great combination for the sake. It is the best ramen broth I had after Melbourne. I think the quality of food and service are delivered.
R. T.
Best Ramen in Canberra, hands down. Yum!
M. B.
The namesake Ramentic was a delicious creamy bone broth. Super tasty. Japanese beer to top it off. The staff were really friendly too. Melbourne and Sydney have great ramen bars - and so does Canberra, I discovered.
E. M.
This is quality ramen. If you haven’t had the spicy ramen (chilies and red apple sauce) with a side of the gyoza with the home made side sauce, then your are sleeping on the most underrated meal in Canberra.
W. W.
My favorite Ramen place in Canberra! Love their spicy ramentic, make sure you add an egg, they have perfected the recipe for the egg. I bring my friends to here all the time!!
N. Y.
It's pretty hard to find great authentic ramen, I mean anywhere in Australia (I'm Japanese so I know). This restaurant is very small so it's a little crammed. The ramen is probably one of the better ones I have had in Canberra but still not 100% authentic. So if you really want ramen, not really worth trying to search in Canberra at least because there aren't many good restaurants which serve great authentic ramen. But definitely go try the ramen this restaurant offers because you might like it and it may be authentic enough for you.
R. G.
The ramen is full of flavours and has a depth to it that could only have been created with love and patience - strongly recommend Ramentic if you are searching for yummy Ramen 😊
M. L.
A fantastic bowl of Ramen. The only let down was the noodles, which could be softer and fresher.
J.
Place is cute and the atmosphere is nice. Staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was good, not as good as ramen in Japan, but not too bad considering your limited options in Canberra for ramen. It was a bit pricey, but being in Braddon, the whole area is like that. It was filling, I couldn't eat all of mine and my partner just got through his.
K. H.
Quite good ramen. Soup could have been a little stronger in taste, but was still very tasty. Wife added an egg to hers and said it was the most authentic she has had in Australia. Gets our vote for the best ramen in Canberra (that we've tried so far, anyway).
D. M.
Despite this not being my favourite style of ramen, I thought that the ramen was quite good. The noodles were especially excellent, with great texture. I'm not sure why people are saying that the serves are small, but I agree that the prices are a little on the high side. Overall, I like it, and I'm keen to return as it's currently the best ramen I've had in Canberra.
C. O.
Hands down best Ramen experience in Canberra. I frequently travel to Japan and live between cities in Sydney, and Ramentic is still one (if not the) favourite Ramen place for me. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, good variation in product and excellent quality.
K. C.
Overall great staff and food. I like my ramen saltier then they provided but it was still nice. It would have been nice if a bottle of soon sauce was available. In saying that, I didn't ask the staff for one, so that's probably on me.
J. D.
Most authentic Japanese ramen in Canberra, in my opinion (having tried ramen in several cities in Japan). A bit overpriced but good quality and tasty meals. Really hits the spot on a cold night or a long day at work. They have a few different types of ramen and other dishes like donburi (rice bowl). The menu is short, with a focus on quality over quantity, simple and delicious.
Limited but cosy seating (about 7 or 8 tables with two seats each, plus several bar seats), but I've always managed to get a seat because it's set up like a Japanese ramen place where you eat and then leave (not a long stay). They are licenced, with a couple of Japanese beers (I think it's Asahi and Kirin). They also have bottled Japanese lemonade.
B. H.
Delicious ramens that are on the slightly more expensive side. Especially when you order extras on top. This place is well worth a try! Beware seating is limited and the place is very small so it's not ideal for going with a large group of friends.
M. S.
Best little hidden gem. Fantastic ramen at a reasonable price. Delicious broth with generous toppings. Limited seating so I can see this place getting very crowded when people find out about it.
H. L.
One of the few ramen places in Canberra at this time (2017) and is probably one of the top 3 places to go for ramen.
Broth for the pork ramen is cloudy and full of flavour. It's borderline on creamy and can be drunk on its own. Noodles are thin and doesn't get too soft while eating.
They have 4 choices of ramen noodles; pork, chicken, vegetarian and spicy pork. You also have the ability to add additional topping like an extra serve of noodles, meat or egg.
Price-wise, this is on the more expensive side at $18 a bowl onwards depending on what additional toppings you add. But due to the lack of ramen options in Canberra, this is the price you have to pay I guess.
A. N.
Greatest ramen you will find in Canberra. But, and this is a big but, the serving size is ridiculously small for $18 and you get 2-3 pieces of thinly sliced pork belly chasu. Paying for extra only gets you 2 slices more. I feel so hungry afterwards it was not funny.
If you love ramen and needed a good fix in Canberra, your taste buds won't be disappointed but you do need deep pockets to pay for what I consider to be a standard serving size.
B. W.
Food:
Spicy ramen
Portion ok
Pork slice was very good and melt in mouth.
Noodles were ok, firm chew, mouthfeel was decent
Broth bit heavy. Tasty. Not too over powering.
Spice does have kick to it, so great.
Pricing a bit high for the offer. Could be because Canberra or area
Restaurant (indoors section):
Cozy
Cute date spot
Good lighting
Staff:
Very polite
M. G.
These guys are one of the few places open for dine in at the moment. The Ramentic ramen today was delicious and you can order takeout online. It’s a little pricey but worth it and will come back again.
J. H.
Good ramen soup but seriously overpriced for what you pay for. For $18 you get a bowl of ramen with two very very thinly sliced pieces of pork. Broth was topped to only half the bowl. You have to pay $3 for the egg. If the $18 included thicker pork slices and the egg then I would have rated it a 5 star, but unfortunately it's just to pricey to pay $21 for a bowl of noodles with an egg!
E. P.
My partner and I are huge fans of Ramentic! Consistently delicious ramen and super friendly staff. We are repeat visitors and will continue coming. Thank you! 🙂
S.
Super tasty! Friendly staffs, Really impress😲
D. L.
The best ramen in Canberra!!! If you are spicy lover, you should try the the Spicy Ramentic.
C. ..
Easily the best ramen spot in Canberra , i have eaten my way through many of the best ramens in Sydney and i rate this place in my top 3.
To those complaining about it being expensive or the restaurant too small get a grip, $18 dollars is reasonable when you consider Canberra doesnt have the customer volume of Sydney where a ramen at a good spot will set you back $16 dollars.
Location is great , the shop is modern and perfectly sized - check out Ryos in crows nest sydney before you complain about the seating or parking.
Go to lazy su's if you want a nice pork soup, go to ramentic if you want a real ramen.
J. S. K.
We've tried Ramentic, spicy ramen and chicken ramen here. Ramentic (pork ramen) was just perfect with its deep-flavoured soup! I feel so healthy drinking the soup. My husband had spicy ramen and he liked it as much as I liked my Ramentic. It was pleasingly spicy.
Chicken ramen has got its unique clear yet flavourful taste. If you are for clear soup, you would love it!!
Perfect for a cold winter (or any other seasons) 😍😍 So glad that Canberra finally has a decent ramen place 😁👍🏻 Would defenitely go back!
C. L.
Nice ramen, a bit on the high side regarding price (ramen are a cheap dish in japan...), but they are good. One thing I noticed is that the broth is a bit fatty to my taste. Other than that, good!
D. H.
Hole-in-wall type deal with quick service at a good price. Menu consists entirely of Ramen. Make sure to get the chili, regular is too mild. If you want better Ramen you need to leave Canberra.
B. H.
First time coming to Ramentic, the decor was nice and the music is of proper volume. The cutleries used is authentic wooden spoon.
They offer water, napkins, Siriacha, sesame seeds and kids cutlery on a different counter diagonally opposite of the cashier.
The noodles were like other ramen shops found in Brisbane. The soup was a little strong in terms of saltiness but overall, I would recommend this place over Lazy Su is you are looking for more traditional noodles, cutlery, and stronger tasting soup. However, at Lazy Su you do get the eggs for free (included in the noodles) whereas at Ramentic, it is counted as extra topping.
Comparing the price to Lazy Su it is at a decent price however compared to Brisbane it is more expensive.
K. D.
Had the pork bun, pork gyoza and tonkotsu ramen and the only thing I regret is that I couldn't finish the ramen. Generous sizes, and seriously good thick tonkotsu broth with a really nice depth of flavour. Eggs were perfectly soft boiled. Definitely recommend having water or a palate cleansing drink on hand, purely because the broth can be so rich. The stand out of the night though was the pork gyoza - rich, flavourful and fresh. Well worth it, and made for a really enjoyable date night dinner ♡
P. M.
Delicious! Delicious! Coming back here again.
S. C.
Delicious ramen! Had the chicken broth and it was so good. Friendly and quick service.
B. M.
A quaint little ramen place with good service and good ramen, especially for first-timers as the broth is creamy and the flavour not too rich. I rate 5 Shinzo out of 7 (for those who remember Shinzo ramen in Acton).
D. M.
I'm not an experienced ramen eater but I've eaten the ramentic here many times and I love it. Perfectly cooked noodles, love it with a dash of sriracha.
R. e.
It’s ok but not good enough for next visit. Chicken wings are outrageously overpriced for me and not even half tasty as what you can get at KFC please avoid them. Like the noodle bar setting it’s the Japanese street ramen shop style
J. H.
Wasn't super busy when we arrived. Sat down, food on the table within 5 minutes.
Menu is limited, but it's no problem, since the options are reliably good.
K.
Very expensive for what it offers, below average portion, no egg (paid DLC), pork mince in description but only spotted one "grain". Tastes quite good but not worth what you're paying for.
P. T.
Friendly staff and really nice ramen. Not 100% authentic but was amazing in its own way.
J. M.
Chicken was tender and tasty, egg had lots of flavour. Broth was good but not great and its a little expensive. But relatively tasty
P. W.
Best ramen in Canberra. Both classic and veggie ramen are delicious. Staff are committed foodies. Good service.
C. R.

A. C.
Very good spicy ramen. Probably the best in Canberra. My picky wife approves.
A. H.
Average Ramen in Sydney's standard, but 8 out 10 for Canberra's standard. Bit pricey though.
A. I.
Good food and good service. Ramen dishes are done well in a mild style with not too much broth.
m. o.
Service was golden even when busy and although the food is simple it hits all the right spots. Perfect on a cooler day.
J.
The food is alright, but overpriced. $18 for ramen and an extra $3 for an egg when ramen should come with one anyway...
N. D.
Delicious Ramen! Definitely recommend! Awesome selection and love the name!
J. S.
A bit on the pricey side for lunch ($18) but the ramentic (pork) ramen was absolutely delicious!
