The venue itself was nice, good atmosphere, with high-backed chairs and table in a hollow square shape around a bartender/waiter. Wait staff were also friendly and attentive. This is not a venue that affords privacy as the table is a continuous bar that others sit around. There are some tables for 4 people that are connected to the bar - everyone else was on the bar and in full view of each other. This didn't affect our experience but worth noting. The only issue was with the price for what you get. The food was delicious and it was clear a lot of preparation and thought had gone into the dishes - unfortunately the portions were unsatisfyingly quite small for the higher cost per plate when compared to similar fine dining venues.

Great restaurant for a dine in experience, the manager and staff were friendly and warm welcomed. We ordered the chef menu of 6 courses 1. Figs The flavor was great, but I never tried a cooked fig, so it was a bit odd for me. But a good experience tho. 2. Scallop Scallops were cooked and covered with black sesame, I like this dish since it gives an unique flavour to scallops which you don't usually get. 3. Stracciatella The combination with fried cauliflower was just great, if you eat the stracciatella with the cauliflower, it gives so much texture and flavour in your mouth. 4. Red snapper The snapper was cooked perfectly and tender. This is my top dish for the night. 5. Pork It was a char siu with apple mustard sauce, a bit odd for me. But overall ok. 6. Black Angus Well cooked, but it doesn't give me the great experience like the stracciatella or red snapper did.

Didn't quite hit the mark for me but I only tried 4 dishes. For example, the duck breast was perfectly smoked and succulent, but it came on a bed of risoni and deep fried eggplant with some other veges that I felt pretty meh about. The pork again I wasn't wowed by, but the sauce was lovely. Lamb shanks also just a pass. Dessert was perfect. Might need to amend the review when I try a few more dishes. Could have given a 4, just not feeling it tonight. My friends have been here a few times, they loved it so maybe I just don't get it.

An incredible experience with the 6 course tasting menu and 5 accompanying paired wines (the first wine accompanied two starting dishes but was a larger serving size than the other glasses). The food was all delicious, came quite quickly but still took us almost the full two hours to get through, and service was lovely. We opted for extra chips and also added a dessert to share between two. Was extremely full but it qas worth it as it was all delicious! It is a top quality dining experience and yet the environment feels chic, casual and comfortable. Seating for two is bar style, side by side rather than opposite each other. Maximum group table size seemed to be for 5.

We recently popped in here for a birthday lunch for a work colleague. The staff were friendly and helpful. Atmosphere was pleasant. We all ordered from the lunch tasting menu. Between us there was barramundi, chicken breast, pork belly, gnocchi and the mousse for dessert. Let me just say that no-one in the group was disappointed. It was all very tasty. The meals were a good size and presented good value. Happily be back!

Could not fault the food or the service at Vincent. Great atmosphere and amazing food that tastes as good as it looks. We shared the char siu pork, lamb cutlets and wagyu beef with a side of thick cut chips. Our waitress recommended the creme brûlée for dessert which was a great end to the meal.

Vincent was awesome - really cool, dimly lit space with really friendly and attentive staff. Food came out super quickly and was delicious - especially the small plates. Would have given 5 stars except for the lack of spirits or cocktails on the drinks menu and pretty limited beers. Would definitely go back though.

Recommended by friends and just hidden in Barton we were so pleasantly surprised. An unorthodox seating arrangement, resembling more a bar than a first class restaurant, it surprised. We loved the variety of food and drinks and the excellent service. Innovative menu that more than satisfied our appetite. A definite must, open minded though and be ready to be surprised.

I could not recommended this place highly enough. We had the tasting menu with accompanying wine. It was fantastic!! They were also very accommodating to food allergies. Our waitress was very over the top but she was just trying to be friendly I think.

Most of the time, when I have a good meal and can't fault the place I give a 5-star review. I now realise that it belittles the truly incredible meals, like the one we had at Vincent tonight. The food was unbelievable. Please try the mushroom gnocchi, they are the best I ever had. The wine menu is generous and the staff is very attentive. I now want to try the rest of the menu. This was recommended in AGFG What they forgot to say is that it is really a bar, an interesting bar with good food but not a restaurant. Six of us booked a table having phoned to see if tables were available rather than bar seats. Bar seats we got, despite the table assurance, however very comfortable bar seats with supportive backs. The food was fabulous BUT .... shared plates we loved and individual flavors were exciting and delicious. However many dishes were brought to table simultaneously without néw plates so the flavors intermingled and totally spoiled the amazing dishes. Fabulous for drinks and and early dinner but not recommended to share. Choose individual entree and mains and request néw plates for new flavours and you will have a taste sensation .... albeit in fairly noisy surrounds. I would return.

I love this place. Never had a bad experience. Reliably delicious. Great service. Vincent strikes an excellent balance between smart, chic, upmarket, but at the same time totally comfortable and unpretentious. A similar balance flows into the food. It's delicious. Looks and tastes like fine dining, but the portions are satisfying and the price is very reasonable. Everything on the menu is superb.

Great night out for a special occasion. We had the chefs tasting menu which was lovely, but it was the added pairing of wines that made this a most memorable experience. Great food, wine and atmosphere. The service is pretty good also - we were looked after wonderfully. The bar service for all seats works really well. The degustation is great especially with the matching wine - make sure you're hungry (and thirsty) if you are going to attempt it.

We had an exceptional experience here on Tuesday night; fantastic service, lovely ambience and exceptional food and wine. One could almost forget we were in the middle of a pandemic. the $75pp tasting menu is great value, and provides an incredible variety of food. With one pregnant guest, Vincent was understanding of her needs, and even brought out a separate plate with courses that were well cooked to be safe. Scallops with nori, yuzu and katsuobushi were a triumph; roasted cauliflower with labne, carrots and cranberries was incredibly moreish, king george whiting with potato veloute and vongole was beautifully balanced and refreshing, and the wagyu sirloin with caramelised eschalots and oyster mushrooms was exactly as it sounds - melt in the mouth delicious.This was just a selection of the 6 amazing dishes.

One of my favourite food experiences ever! Love the layout of the restaurant, really facilitates good service. The staff are friendly and have a great knowledge of wine. Rather expensive, high-end restaurant. Delicious food although some dishes were served lukewarm when they should be hot. We had the $70pp degustation, and the portions were smaller than I expected at that price. Their service is fantastic and the staff are fairly knowledgeable about wine. They pride themselves on the wine menu being designed to pair with food, but take orders for wine before you have decided what to eat! So we ended up drinking a red with fish. 4 stars if it were slightly better value and the food was served hotter.

Hands down some of the best food in Canberra I’ve had! We ordered olives, scallops and Peking duck to start and for mains the pork belly and wagyu rump between the two of us. Outstanding dishes, reasonable prices for the quality of food, and very friendly service. Highly recommend the wagyu rump, everything on the dish was absolutely perfect. Definitely coming back to try the tasting menu next time!

Have been here a bunch of times with different groups, friends, family etc. Absolutely amazing food. Very personal service all around, but especially when sitting at the main bar. Staff know the food well and can pair or suggest wines. I recommend 2-3 entrees and 1 main to share between two. Have had the entire menu and will honestly say you can't go wrong. It's a dark fitout which is extremely cosy, the location has easy parking and is centrally located in Canberra's inner south. Price is similar to others in the area and will really come down to how much you drink!

Walking into Vincent one is initially surprised by the size as it appears smaller than it actually is. The lower ceiling, seating around the walls nd the dark interior all combine to make it feel like an intimate dining experience - even when with a group. The sound levels are also deceptively low meaning you can clearly hear everyone you are with. We had the two course lunch (the cauliflower and pork belly) which was amazing value. The food was stunning and was perfectly sized. Having the two courses and a beer I walked out feeling full but not bloated. I will definitely be back!

We each got the tasting menu. It started of 5 stars strong, but towards the end struggled a bit. Favourite dishes were the Barramundi and the cauliflower. Peking duck and Wagyu were both disappointing. Wagyu especially was overpowered by the sweet potato puree which turned the flavour sweet, and you couldn't taste the wagyu fattiness. It also lacked salt. Great wine selection and atmosphere, with friendly staff.

Vincent offers exquisit food and absolutely stunning wines to match. The moment you walk in you are acutely aware that this is not just your 'run of the mill' fine dining restaurant. The staff are knowledgable and attentive and every time I have been there they have been right in the mark. I would recommend the chef's tasting plate with matched wines and be sure to ask for a side of thick hand cut chips. Apparently they are triple cooked and in my opinion, you won't find better. Well done Vincent!! (not sure if that's just the name or owner)

I mostly fine dine and was somewhat shocked when my friend suggested Vincent’s last Friday 16th February 2018, for our usual Degustation Luncheon. After been greeted and seated by our well mannered waiter, I was immediately set at ease. I will cut to the chase so to speak, the food I will rate 8 out of 10 (well presented & delicious) and believe me that is an excellent score from me, I am the biggest fuss pot on the face of the earth! But the service and knowledge of the Menu and Wine list of their young Man was OUT STANDING, I believe his name was Oliver, dark hair so very attentive and polite, true hospitality that is hard to find in this day and age.
