I love vietnamese banh mi. Sincerely I moved to Hobart, I have been trying a lot of local banh mi shop. (At least more than 10) I definitely recommend you to visit Cyclo Vietnamese Restaurant. I had their cracking pork banh mi, it's good. I give it 7 out 10. Currently, it is on the top second on my best Banh mi of Hobart list. The most beautiful thing is they sliced the nice cracking pork ( around 3 mm thick slice), it is great for people like that meaty biting. But I hope that they can put more veges salad in the Banh mi. (As the number one on my best Banh mi , has everything. ) Overall, it's great and lovely. Definitely recommend you visit Cyclo.

Special pork chops was a modern take on a classic dish. The chops were absolutely delicious and the rest were proportioned well. Would've loved the pork skin and pork mince cake, but understandable that it's not available here in Tasmania.

Our go to place for pho in Hobart. Still considerably expensive for pho than places we used to frequent in Melbourne and Sydney. Pho is to a very good standard with all the condiments except for Vietnamese mint leaves you might get one or two leaves if you’re lucky. Reasonable variety on menu. The pork spring rolls are awesome. Staff are hard workers and were thoughtful to cook rare beef a little more for pregnant wife without being asked. Clean setting but a little cramped they could use with a bigger shop with more seating and space.

Dec 2021. Great Vietnamese food situated on the cusp of North Hobart. Serving some of the best bahn mi and pho in the area. Cyclo is always packed, so make sure you allow for time of it's busy.

After a disappointing meal at Rockwall on our first night. We tried the Cyclo pho yesterday and it was the perfect food for the cold weather. The taste of the food is reasonably better than Rockwall. I liked the pickled onion while waiting for the pho noodles to arrive on our table. We finished our meal with a smile and satisfaction.

Food was good pretty authentic vietnamese. I had the spicy beef noodle soup (bun bo hue) soul was tasty and portion size was good. There's an option to have extra noodles. I think it cost $1extra for extra noodles, came out in a larger bowl and is quite worth it for the price. Cycle is pretty busy but finding a table for a small group isnt too hard as there is reasonably high turn over of seated customers. Recommend coming for a cheap and easy meal.

I love their pho noodle soup. It's commercially salty works well with the umami flavour. I had a beef soup comes with a reasonable amount of meat nicely prepared. I just put four stars because they aren't cheap or generous as what I used to have on the mainland. Other than that, it's an excellent place to have a flavourful bowl of soup or two.

Great place to get vietnamese street food. Got plenty of noodles, sandwiches, rice paper rolls and burger to select from and around 10 ice cream flavors too. The place is small, so it's packed most of the time. So be prepared to stand around a bit until a table becomes available. But it's definitely worth waiting.

Great variety and loaded with flavour. I ordered the BBQ Chicken bahn mi, chicken and prawn fried rice and a spicy chicken pho in beef broth. The bahn mi was yummy, could have had a few more veggies in there but it tasted delicious! The BBQ Chicken was moist and had a great smoky flavour. The spicy chicken pho soup was tasty and quite enjoyable, the balance of flavour was there, for me more spice though, please! Comes only with bean sprouts, would be nice to also add basil, lemon and chilli which are the usual accompaniments with pho. The fried rice was also very tasty, couldnt stop eating that one! So moreish and generous serving size. Will be back to try more, highly recommend, everything is fresh and the staff are very friendly. Id suggest going before during peak time if u can as it's a small place so you might have to wait for a table, I got there at 11am just before the rush hit.

This is my go to place for Vegetarian Pho and Banh Mi. I've been to about 10 Vietnamese restaurants in Hobart, Melbourne and Brisbane and nothing has matched the taste of this. The vegetables in the broth are nice and crunchy. Especially the cauliflower and the broccoli. The broth is made with vegetable stock and is not too salty nor does it have an overpowering mushroom taste. They also offer chilli on the side which is very nice. I will definitely visit again.

I have been there twice recently since my absents of 12 months, and they have improved their dishes.. ATM, I don't taste much of MSG anymore which is very welcome practice and I have now revised my reviews. ATM (2021) , They are one of the best eat outs in Hobart IMO.. Bravo.. Thank you for your tasty dishes.. So, I have been there more than 6 times.. I love eating Pho..but their Pho is mostly missng a beefy broth taste, and is mostly fish sauce and MSG taste.. I make my own Pho at home and I am generous with MSG amount in my cooking, but their MSG useage is another level all together.. i had forgotten to not to drink their soup broth last week after the quarantine, and I was thirsty and high on MSG all day.. I reckon a big scoop of MSG must be in that soup of bowl. All you can taste is MSG.. I have vowed to never go back there again..

Was missing Asian food while on our Tasmanian holiday and came across this small restaurant. The roast pork vermicelli salad is the dish to go for - so delicious with generous servings with fresh, tender pork and crunchy crackling. Place is small so make sure you get in early. They do have good bench sitting near windows and outdoor seats if you don't mind being outside.

So glad to happen upon this great vietnamese restaurant. The seating is well appointed and the place is very clean and uncluttered with prompt and friendly service. The food was excellent - hubby had the combination pho which had rare beef, beef balls, oxtail, brisket and tripe. He thoroughly enjoyed it. He finished off with a mango lassi. I had cracking pork rice which came with salad and delicious pickled turnip. A most satisfying meal topped off with a boysenberry ice cream cone. This will be my new favorite go to food heaven.

My first day arrived at Hobart around 9:30pm and i already had pho in this restaurant. Since then often coming here for lunch or dinner, do not forget to order beef pho especially in cold weather! Also, Roast pork & Char siu (bbq pork) with rice. So yummm!! Crackling pork banh mi or pork roll is popular as well. They do have avocado smoothie. It taste quite good though. What i found in this place is the lunch price is slightly cheaper than dinner time.

We've been going to Cyclo since it first opened and haven't got sick of it yet. The bahn mi is excellent, as are the various versions of pork vermicelli (roast, BBQ, etc ...). However, the roast pork's quality can be a bit variable; it seems to depend on how long the pork's been sitting around and who constructs the meal. The rice paper rolls are pretty good, too. The staff are friendly and they're reasonably efficient but orders do, occasionally, seem to take longer than they might need to.

One of the best Bánh mì I've ever eaten. The baguettes, that they bake themselves, are a wonderful mix between crispy and flaky and the filling was well balanced and refreshing. Noticed a lot of guests were eating the Pho, which I'm kind'a wishing we tried ourselves too, as it looked delicious. Will have to go back next time we're in Hobart to try. Highly recommend

This time the consensus of reviews has faithfully reflected the standard Cyclo delivers. Only gripe is the premises isn’t big enough, so it tends to get a bit crowded, which is a good thing. Service is a little off putting if you’re a first timer. A lot of the condiments are self-service so don’t wait to admonish the waiter for not bringing your lemon wedges and chilli, go and get them yourself. Pho is really good as is bun. Pork spring rolls are a little odd but tasty as are rice paper rolls. This is a definite go-again.
