Exceptional service and hospitality, welcoming friendly, efficient staff. Aesthetically pleasing environment with indoor & outdoor seating, and soft classic Greek music completes the experience. Fresh home-style cooking and authentic Southern Greek cuisine, with classics like κεφτεδάκια [meatballs] and κατσικάκι [braised goat], and everyone's favourite Greek lemon-baked potatoes. The μπακλαβά [baklava] was a standard for our end of meal dessert. Wine list, and traditional Greek aperitif Ouzo and Μαστίχα to awaken your taste buds or a nightcap. We made this our 'regular' for the majority of our time spent in Hobart. I highly recommend Mezethes Greek Taverna.

What an amazing establishment! From the moment we walked in the fire we were greeted with smiles. We were half hour early for our booking which was not a problem. Food was amazing and service was exceptional! Friends recommend we go there as they do everything they are in Tasmania. I highly recommend visiting if you are in the area, you won’t be disappointed!

From the moment we walked in, there were 16 cyclists on the twowheeltours cycling trip to Hobart, Anastasia and his staff (inc Ash) made us feel right at home. I cannot fault this restaurant. The staff are seriously top notch with 5 star service. Family run with mum chefing on the night we were in. The food...DELICIOUS! The dips and lamb rack were sensational and felt like a home cooked meal (done well)! Everyone went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. If we lived in Hobart this place would be seeing us weekly. Highly recommend, close to everything, great value for money but you can't pass up the attention to detail and service.

Looking for a place where we could enjoy the glorious weather on a beautiful Saturday morning, my colleague Rob and I discovered this superb restaurant. The lamb souvlaki was perfect, and the Greek coffee and freshly home-baked kourabiedes could not be faulted.The service by the owner himself is personal and warm, and our conversations with him were part of an exceptionally enjoyable restaurant experience.

Food was terrific and the service was great although some parts of the order were forgotten. The reason I am marking it down is that the manager seemed to tell me the price and then after I left the restaurant he added $100 to the charge. When refunding me he only refunded part of the $100 and said he had made mistakes. I ended up getting $53 back out of the extra $100 he charged me so I am still short $47. He charged me using eftpos and that's fine but when charging back to my credit card he said he couldn't do it because the cash register was down. The cash register doesn't charge back to a credit card and the eftpos machine was working fine. It ruined what was really a great night and now I am out $47 and I can guess where the money went. I would suggest you all check your accounts before you leave the restaurant to make sure you are charged the right amount.

We ordered the saganaki (a fried cheese much like halloumi) appetizer and the pastitsio plus a dessert. The food was wonderful, but the drawback is it's fairly expensive and the portions are on the small side. Still, it was a delicious meal and a nice atmosphere and we'd eat here again.

This is the best meal ive ever eaten. This resteraunt is by far the best i have ever been to. The meals consist of quite large servings and are not only taste exquisite but are also quite filling. The staff are some of the nicest ive ever had wait on me, engaging in conversation and banter. They are also the most polite people ive ever met. The owner was so happy and vibrant in welcoming us into the establishment. For my meal I had the Marinated Octopudi as well as the Four Selection Dip for my entree and The Chicken Souvlaki for my main. The chicken was cooked to absolute perfection and the potatoes were even more so. The dips were handmade and tasted like a dream! The Flavour, the Texture and the Presentation were so on point. Everything and i mean every aspect of the experience was perfect. The price was about 65Ph and it was completely worth it! Im coming back here when im in Hobart again. This place is perfect.

Great restaurant with really excellent food. Good variety, excellent quality and good portion size. Also have a good wine selection. We ate here twice and thoroughly recommend it, however it is busy so suggest you book. Also the waiting staff were working very hard all the time, but we felt the kitchen might be a bit overwhelmed with capacity as there did tend to be a wait for food. It didn’t bother us as we are happy to chat and savour our food and don’t like it served at break neck speed, but some people were less happy. So just don’t go if you are in a rush! Sit and savour the ambience, enjoy a glass (or two!) of wine and chill. The food is worth it!

This place will not disappoint. Their food is sensational and the serving sizes are generous. You should book, unless you get there early and beat the crowd. The only issue is that once it fills up, the service becomes a little slow and you will wait a while for the food to come out. None of us were able to finish our plates. I'd definitely go back again.

While the octopus wasn't great value for money relative to the calamari or chicken skewers, the taste was excellent. I can highly recommend the octopus with a board premium as each one enhances the flavour of the other. In terms of ambience it was fine overall, though the other patrons were a little too raucous for good conversation, but such is Friday night. I'd also recommend making a booking on Friday nights as it gets busy very fast.

Was a regular, feeling like this place is going down hill ... The food used to be really good here. It started with portion sizes shrinking and then the taste always changed per visit so you'd get the same thing and will be cooked differently. The bathroom needs renovations but not a biggie just feedback to say the least. I really hope they pick up their game

Delicious food with very generous portions. You wouldn't think a Greek place would be the place to go for a big breakfast, but it's the biggest 'big breakfast' in Hobart out of the many places I've tried. It's also relatively cheap. Other breakfast options won't disappoint either.

Mezethes is my favourite place to eat in Hobart. It is always great food and service wise. We like to get the meat share plate - you get the most deliciously cooked meat with the signature and famous potatoes. Another favourite is the dips - we normally get the mix plate it comes with a choice of 4 dips and a big bowl of bread. They will give you more bread if you run out. They are kid friendly and happy to bring out the kids meals first. They also have high chair. The food is most definitely worth the price and the visit- i would advise to book ahead if you can.

Best food and service . Had dinner Saturday had the best ever whole snapper. Returned Sunday for the meat shared platter for two well worth it and outstanding . Decided to go on Easter Monday but unfortunately they where closed , will definitely go back there again when in Hobart .
