Fabulous food in Hobart. The prawn is a must try. Preorder seafood and they will present amazing feast for you. Very nice and friendly staff. Impressive experience.

One of my favourite restaurants in Hobart. Have been there for years, and the food, drinks, and service are just superb! Birthday free dessert is always a warm bonus, and sometimes the owner would provide fruit and snacks if you are lucky enough. I really like the year of tiger’s special dish Creamy King Prawns and Wontons! Just AMAZING!

It’s really difficult to find such a good Chinese restaurant in Hobart. Me and my friend went to the restaurant tonight and order several dishes. The almond prawn is amazing! My friend prefers the lamb dumplings. About the main dishes, we ordered cumin lamb, eggplant and three shot chicken. All of the dishes are very nice and the service is great!

Fifth visit and a satisfactory experience. No booking and dined upstairs. Upon ordering I have never had a waitress suggest we ordered too much. We ate it all! The service was sporadic. With empty wine glasses for some time and no attention, I got up to get a wine menu and had to flag down waitress for a second drink. Staff need to scan surroundings when performing a service to maximise attention needed for all guests. Entree calamari was fantastic and very tender. More vegetables needed for Garlic Prawns as we had two snow peas, three slices if capsicum and some mushrooms. Prawns were fresh and nicely cooked. Duck pancakes had cold meat and no sauce serving spoon. Long pauses between courses and momentum of meal lost at times. Will be back and look forward to improved service.

Having had couple of meals with family and friends at Mu Lan since they had new owner, I must say they are one of the most authentic and delicious Chinese cuisine we have ever tasted in Hobart. Believe it or not, not only they are so picky on the freshness of the ingredients, they can also customise the dish taste to your own liking. You should give it a try and I'm sure you would love it. I am certainly going back there as often as I can afford.

The dim sum was really good, as were the lamb dumplings. Chairman Mao pork wasn't what I was expecting (expected crispy skin) but was still tasty. Three shot chicken was very tender and full of flavour. Service was very good and fast. Only issue was the price.

Great place to go for either a share meal or a meal on it's own. Food was brilliantly cooked and flavoured with many options for most people's food palate. I considered the food to be moderately priced and the food ordered as well as the service given were sensational for the price. The wait staff always had a smile on their face's and were always ready to answer any questions or refresh your beverages on a regular basis. Also the interior is very well laid out and has a very nice atmosphere to dine in.

All round a very enjoyable experience. I have to say that the Salt & Pepper Calamari is a standout. We tried nine different dishes and other than the 'three shot chicken' which was too sweet for our taste & fried rice which was fine, every dish we had was very good to great. Flavours were balanced, portion sizes were decent for the price, service was attentive. It was the first time in a long time that I didn't even notice other diners in the room. I'll be going back for a Lunch Time Yum Cha on Thursday's to Sunday sometime soon. If I went back for Dinner I would order the Calamari, Singapore Noodles, Chairman Mao's Pork Belly & Buddah's Delight Vegetables without hesitation. If I'm honest I'd grab a double portion of the Salt & Pepper Calamari, it really was good!

We had a waiting staff, Lisa served us. She answered to any request with a smile. The food is always tasty. My personal favourite is the 3 Shot Chicken. The meals here are not the cheapest but it is made more affordable because we had the Entertainment card. Would be quite happy to go back again.

We went to Mu Lan on the weekend, and had an excellent meal. As always the service was impeccable and all the staff were smiling. I had the spicy Numbing chicken, and was extremely impressed with it. Mu Lan is one of the few places that when asking for a hot dish, they will actually make it hot! Even though the restaurant was near capacity, all entrees and mains arrived quite quickly and were all delicious. We will definitely be heading to Mu Lan again in the near future.

Fantastic food! Surprisingly authentic, lots of great roasted chillies, and szechuan peppers in my chicken main. The tofu appetizer was divine. Great wine selection as well. The Buddha banquet could have used a few more mushies, or tofu blocks - but pretty yum. Really friendly service.
