Comments of Mures Upper Deck

One of the best meals I’ve ever had in my life. I tried the share table with matching wines. It has 8 different dishes from entrées🧈🥖, mains🦪🍝, dessert 🍮 and wines🍷. This is available from 5:00 to 7:30 🕢. Services were good🤵🏼♀️🤵🏻, an amazing view of the sea 🌊 and it’s a very comfy place👌🏻.
G. C.
Excellent seafood restaurant with very good service, fairly good views over the harbour and fresh quality seafood. I enjoyed my chowder, a few scallops and mainly salmon seemed to be the fish, but the flavour of the chowder was great. Nothing spectaularly innovative, but a good solid place.
B. G.
I'm not even exaggerating when I say this was one of the best meals of my life. Couldn't fault it, outlook is stunning, food was incredible and the seafood tower was next level. The decor was fancy old school, but even our small kids got into the silver service and the staff were super nice. If I was to change anything, it would be ordering a full sized lobster instead of a half.
K. R.
Oysters tasted fresh and delicious. And so are our mains. Our cocktails were not the best and found them a little too sweet for liking but overall excellent service and great dining experience.
S. G.
I thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Mures Upper Deck. We had the feed me menu and boy did they! Their seafood was fresh and cooked to perfection!
Priced at $65 pp, it was very cheap considering how much they fed us!
L. M.
Perfect spot in Hobart. Great views. Food was nice too, fresh and cooked well.
Staff were lovely and attentive. Great selection of wine. Sitting by the window is best. A bit more on the expensive side for lunch but very reasonable for a dinner.
R. C.
Devine!! The mains were absolutely gorgeous. Angus beef rib eye was cooked to perfection. Tasmanian Salmon, exquisite.
The desserts were delish. Special mention to the affogato with whisky cream!
The staff and service was exceptional.
Always give them a call to book a seat. It is busy, and not all tables are available online.
Thanks for a great evening.

I ordered the shared meal at 65 a head. We enjoyed the entrèe with a mixture of flavoured oysters on ice and scallops with green beans heated on rocks. It was creative and tasty. The main seafood pasta was the only thing I didn't like as I'm no fan of packet pasta shipped from Victoria. The fish and fries were a little over cooked making the crumbed fish slightly tough to eat. The desert was a beautiful chocolate mouse and sweet crumbed creme brulee. An absolute delight. Thank you.
M. M.
We stopped by for a quick lunch. The oysters are really fresh. The beef cheeks melt in your mouth. Great view of the harbour from the restaurant.
M. H.
Upstairs is a classy seafood restaurant with good customer service and generous servings. We went with the cold/hot seafood platter so we could try local prawns, squid, oysters, scallops and traditional crumbed fish. All delicious. Staff not confident with recommending drinks but friendly. Waterside seat even better.
J. J.
Quality seafood restaurant with water and Hobart city views. Service was awesome and meals well spaced apart. Food was beautiful and delivered straight to the person who ordered, rather than being asked “who ordered…?” Highly recommend Mures Upper Deck.
M. C.
We ate here on our final day in Tasmania and I wish we had eaten here everyday. Food was just divine. Service was great, the place looked fancy but didn’t mind us being in shorts on a hot day. Lobster was excellent and we were provided with proper tools to get the meat out of the legs (something that was missing at another place we ate). Salmon was freaking amazing. Could eat that everyday. Croquettes were super tasty. We left feeling full but not uncomfortably stuffed which I put down to finally finding a seafood restaurant that didn’t fill us up on chips! Can’t wait to come back.
T. D.
Really liked the freshness of the seafood. That is exactly what we expected from a place like this. If you visit make sure to call and reserve a table. Prices are bit expensive if you compare with average restaurants. But you can enjoy a fresh dish of seafood.
J. L.
We have been coming here every time we visit Hobart since 2015. The quality of food has always been very high and table service has been excellent every time we have visited. Table service this year has been fantastic, especially since we have brought our little one here for the first time. However this year, front of house reservations has dropped the ball a bit. Firstly our booking of 7 on the first night was not done properly and recorded in the books. We were lucky to have a table when we arrived. On our second booking, we requested a window table but this was not available. However we were not told and it wasn't acknowledged until we reminded them on arrival. No apology was given. Over the years, we have had no complaints on the service here, so would like to think that this is a outlier for this year.
D. B.
Nice view, nice view and friendly staff. Fairly priced. Seafood spaghetti was amazing.
H. F.
We had dinner here, the share plate with the wine. The location is perfect, right on the water looking over looking the dock.
The seafood was as fresh as we’ve had. The taste from each dish was spot on (could eat a bowl of scallops, delicious)
Just the perfect amount of food.
Last but not least the service was second to none.
Well priced and highly recommend.

This seafood restaurant was an awesome experience. Friendly staff & great waterfront views of the Hobart Pier. We had 3 entrees to begin with fresh oysters, grilled scallops and octopus that was soo yummy. My main dish was half of the lobster grilled with butter sauce served with large chips & salad. Definitely all the dishes we had so far was super delicious!
P. K.
Great food, great view . Me and my husband went yesterday had bitter experience because staff on the counter wasn’t welcoming. We went there based on recommendation to try best of Murres, mainly salmon and oyster, asked staff on the counter for recommendation but was very unfriendly. We literally felt so unwelcome and wanted to go out from their as soon as possible . Serving staff was very kind . Never going back to this place on our future Tasmania visit .
E. H.
It was ok, seafood was fresh but not a very inspiring menu. For the price and based on reviews I expected better. We were also told we couldn't have post dinner drinks or dessert as we only had the table for 2 hours - The service needs to be much quicker if this is the case
A. N.
Fantastic location and views of the water. Seafood chowder was tops. Battered fried fish and chips would be hard to beat. Half lobster with thermidor sauce was a bit disappointing, lobster meat was sweet but perhaps garlic butter sauce would be better. Very generous servings, fresh ingredients and perfectly cooked.
T. H.
Almost got there. All the dishes were great bar one. Service was impeccable and friendly. Restaurant was really accommodating with a late change. But one main was below par unfortunately- Moreton bay bugs well overcooked. Fix that for 5 stars
R. W.
Our special treat during our Tassie trip, amazing food and drink options in a stunning location on the harbour
B. H.
The seafood was excellent but overall it is expensive. The wine list was quite good but again over-priced. $5/head for sparkling water is excessive.
Service was very good.
M. C.
Stayed in a hotel very close to Mures, so gave it a go and see, went for a dinner. Like the decorations and vibe of it. Seated in a table with a nice view of the water. Staffs were friendly and explained the catch of the day and the wine selection before we ordered our food. We decided to have seafood so we ordered a dozen mixed of oysters, Tasmania scallops,Tasmanian Seafood Laksa and a bottle of white wine. The three styles of oysters were just spot on, loved them all. The pan seared, herb butter scallops were cooked perfectly, delicious! The Laksa was filled with scallops, premium white fish, atlantic salmon, mussels, squid, tempura mushrooms, noodles, herbs, chilli.....so fresh and yummy. We enjoyed our dinner there and if you’re looking for a nice dinner with a view, you shouldn’t have missed this one when you visit Hobart.
J. L.
Didn't go to the Upper Deck today but have enjoyed a meal there a few times and found it to be supurb. Today I went in to the Lower Deck to pick up my Christmas seafood order. Very happy with the top quality King Prawns and Crayfish.
V. H.
Professional and very attentive service. The restaurant also offer the great local wine selection.
Octopus and Squid were fabulous...
Just avoid battered scallops with chips and mixed green leaves which looked and tasted like low league hotel pub dish...
G. F.
A medium size seafood restaurant with table service and friendly staff. The plating of the food is nice.
A. S.
Good ambience. Service was friendly though not very prompt. It took a very long time for my mains to come out. For my entree I had the Tasmanian Scallops. This was one of the best things I have ever had. Very unique taste. Had some pasta for my mains which was not very memorable. I might come back for that entree but the rest of my experience just tells me this is an overpriced establishment.
S. F.
Enjoyable experience with beautiful views. The Morton Bay Bug entree was my most memorable dish as was the blue eyed cod. Chips were sadly soggy, but you don't come here for that. Service was nice enough.
R. H.
We had a great meal of very tasty oysters, scallops, fish and chips and salmon. Lovely white local wines. Service was excellent and restaurant very comfortable.
C. V.
Lovely view & warm ambience! Pretty servers! Nice food! But I dont like how the scallops are cooked...the rest are fine 😇
K. H.
Was pleasantly surprised. Lovely restaurant, fresh seafood and attentive staff. Honorable mention, their octopus entree and hot chips are very good.
A. M.
Food was ok, but the service was super slow.
Simple things like bringing drinks took more than 10 mins, forgetting to give a spoon for curry, etc. Seems like they dont care really.
The tables around were left dirty for quite a while, nobody bothered to clean them for 15+ minutes.
K. J. E. C.
The service was excellent and very quick! Igor our waiter (from Russia) was outstanding, he went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable, he explained every dish on the menu with detail, how the fish is caught by a local man, the king fish entree was delicious and mains were fantastic, we even picked a dessert that wasn’t available and he went to the chef to brings us almost the same dessert and the presentation was beautiful. We will definitely come back and recommend everyone to eat in this amazing place 👌🏽☺️
J. W.
We’re from Victoria and always talk about your food for when we visit next Hobart again.
Your restaurant is one we will always come back to time and time again.
Thanks for having us! Great food and lovely staff
M. M.
Food was sensational, views fabulous and overall experience was great!
Service was ok, noting that our first waiter was a tad confused about our wine order...
J. S.
Good food with nice view
T. D.
I came to this restaurant twice, two different experience and food size...First time service was friendly and patient, but the second time is not that prompt and food size becomes smaller...However, taste is always good!
L. J.
Exceptional! We started with a mix of tempura & bloody Mary oysters. Mains of panco & almond crusted pink ling with chips & salad. Seriously the best 'fisn n chips' ever. very generous serving size. Not surprisingly Mures is an award winning seafood restaurant. Lovely views, relaxed ambience. 5 stars!
B. P.
Delicious well priced seafood. Excellent wine selection and great service
J. K.
Great dining experience with music, prompt service and amazing food. Unique location and food service. Good local focus with many drinks and food options from Tasmania.
B. B.
A tummy full of the freshest seafood chowder and the earl grey brûlée and I am one happy and content human. I brought my partner to try the best seafood in Hobart after he requested fish and chips on the water front. He had the blue eyed trevalla and thick cut chips, which were crunchy on the outside with delicious creamy potato on the inside. We had a well lit table by the window, overlooking the fishing the boats and the old H. Jones & Co IXL jam factory, both sparking curious conversations.
W. W.
Service was great and the food was perfect. We had the Share Table, could not fault it.
S. F.
Fantastic menu and wine list in a prestige location! The somm was so helpful and we were very well looked after! Def will return soon…
M. G. M.
This is one of Hobarts established top shelf restaurants situated in Victoria Dock. Beautiful views over the fishing fleet. Specialises in fresh seafood which is well presented and substantial portion sizes. Very busy and reservations are a good idea.
T. B.
Great local Tasmanian seafood. Wonderful service - happy to explain the menu. Very attentive staff refilling water and topping up wine without having to ask. And stunning food that was both great to see on a plate as it was to eat - and large portions. A very enjoyable night.
M. P.
Nice location , and good casual dinning . After dinning , you can have yummy gelato in the same restaurant floor. I enjoyed seafood chowder, warmed me up in cold day. The floor has plenty of table and couch . Very relaxing .
r. p.
Excellent lunch today!...top value for money, extensive beverage list, well served by Wait staff, professional and top Waiter'ing by Waiter Ame... as a fussy Epicurean, happily can and do, recommend! Decor, including fresh flowers, quite charming. Rest rooms excellent. Hurray for comfortable chairs. Much, much improved afer two "ordinary" previous visits.
Any other comments? Would love some form of table mat, cloth.
A. H.
I neglected to book and they were so accommodating. The seafood chowder entree could be a main and the trout was astounding. Very nice staff too.
R. G.
Love Mures Upper Deck! Great menu, fish and other local produce of Tasmania. However, I come for the oysters, big succulent ozoney oysters!
I had the seafood chowder after which was hearty and very tasty. Big serves so be careful when ordering sides.
H. M.
Our first lunch and it will not be the last! Absolutely fantastic food, staff and magnificent views. Value for money.
J. G.
The Tasmania beef cheek was the best meal I've ever had! Ate some of my partners seafood spaghetti and it was equally as good. Nice venue, good music, polite staff. Would highly recommend a visit.
L. S.
Good and quality food (fresh seafood even late). Service is also great.
s. K. -.
Amazing food , seafood was very fresh and cooked to perfection
Highly recommended
S. C. E. C.
Tried the indulgence seafood platter for 2 and the seafood are fresh but the cooked one can be a bit too salty. The services are excellence with great view:)
s. m.
Great meal in a wonderful setting. Seafood was so fresh, bit rushed though.
K. K.
Absolutely amazing. Staff would do anything to meet all.your requirements. Definitely recommend and will be back.
P. H.
All I can say was well worth the 5 stars. Food was delicious and seafood so fresh, first time for braised octopus and absolutely amazing. Staff friendly and professional, not the cheapest place but well worth the money
M. T.
Friendly and accommodating staff. Loved the battered gemfish fish and chips.
A. H.
Love the fish and chips so so good! Smooth and crispy. Try the curry too! Customer service is awesome too :) we came back twice!
P. H.
The food is very good and the service friendly. The view is spectacular as always. My only gripe is if the drink is not on "the list" you an't getting it. I always thought a place with a good wine list would have the skills to make a Negroni or a Spritz. Apparently not.
T. S. C.
Delicious food!! Best lobster I've ever had!!!
The ambience is very romantic, food very well presented and elegant, good size portions. WE went there for my birthday (Big group of 12 with 5 kids) and the waitres lovely and Miguel were very nice, they were patience with the kids, and the service was excellent!!!
G. M.
Simply fantastic. We went there on
Thursday night at short notice and accommodated with the booking immediately. From the extra friendly staff when we arrive to the service from the whole made it second to none. We had oysters for Entrée which were the best andand oysters we have ever had in our 50 year's. A must if you want to enjoy one of the best restaurants Tasmania has to offer
J. D.
Great food and excellent service. A little pricy, particularly the wine, but we had a lovely meal.
They catered for all our peculiar dietary requirements, vegetarian and gluten free with great patience.
Fantastic views over the harbour.
S. S.
Nice food and lovely staffs, enjoyed having lunch on the pier
E. G.
Oysters were fresh, can order an assorted dozen. No cheap options on the wine list. Friendly staff.
W. B.
Great service but unfortunately the panko crumbed scallops the size of your thumb nails were really disappointing and best suited as an ingredient in the seafood pasta..
B. G.
Nearly didn't come here because of some poor Google reviews, but gee whiz are we glad we did. Went for lunch and their lunch special for $20 included a nice glass of Tas wine - terrific value. Fish was clearly fresh off the boat that morning. Lovely atmosphere overlooking the dock where you can watch fishing boats come and go. Exceptional service by the waitress who served us. Kids also enjoyed their meal and it is a family friendly restaurant. Our best meal in Tas during a 1 week holiday.
M. S.
Excellent food and service, highly recommended 👍
R. P.
Had dinner at the lower deck only. Food was good and the fireplace was a welcome sight after an afternoon trip to Mount Wellington. Had sent an email booking enquiry to the upper deck about 4 days ago and didn't get a response so couldn't be bothered.
S. F.
Nice setting and attentive staff but the salmon on puy lentils was disappointing. The salmon was nicely cooked though it was served on far too many mushy lentils with just a few pieces of bean and a few scrapings of sweet potato. For dessert the meringue with berries was delicious.
B. W.
A restaurant for fine dining with nice view of the docks and serves great food. Nice selection of wine to go along with the food
C. P.
Dinner here is always a treat on a trip to Hobart. The food is extremely tasty and the best Fish and Chips I’ve had in awhile. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble.
M. N.
The seafood is fresh and delicious and there's a good amount of space between all the tables. If you're lucky enought to get a window table you'll have a relaxing view of the waterfront. Staff are friendly and make you feel comfortable.
G. G.
Friendly staff, Jaimee was amazing in organising our group booking. We had the 'let us feed you' option, and food was delicious and plentiful. The veg risotto was yummmm. Fabulous location and lovely views.
D. W.
Fantastic service in a wonderful location. Had the shared meal for two and it was all amazing. Great variety and plenty of it. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the variety of flavours.
S.
Beautiful spot. Lovely service. Amazingly fresh seafood. Breads were nice. Don’t miss it if you like seafood and views. But do call to reserve a spot. It’s not easy to find a table with view.
C. S.
Fresh n tasty seafood !! Definitely a place to drop by if you are around here.
E. L.
Fish chowder was fabulous! The salmon was good as well.
V.
The chowder was fantastic and the seafood pasta too. Excellent choice of wines to go with your menu.
M.
Loved it, if you want to find tasty and affordable seafood, that is the place to go
W. a. t. W.
Amazing dinner at restaurant on upper level. Great service as well.
高.
a fine dinning Restaurant. delicate portion of foods. good view.
T. T.
Excellent place for a brilliant meal and a good view of the harbour
W. W.
I enjoyed every bit of every meal I’ve ever eaten here. Fantastic fresh fish and cooked delicately to bring out natural flavours. Located on the water, it doesn’t get more marine feeling that this. I loved the boat that goes out to get fish. I loved the fact that it’s so fresh and so good. In Sydney I've paid MUCH more for fish a fraction as good.
J.
Good restaurant with a fantastic menu, we had scallops and prawns for entree and squid ink linguine and salmon for mains all Delicious. The only negatives are that it's expensive and a cider cost $16 which is record anywhere in Australia and our our waiter (Male) wasn't very friendly or helpful and seemed like he didn't want be there. Overall good but lots of places that have friendly staff and $12 ciders around Hobart.
L. R.
I was there 5 yrs ago when on the diamond princess. This time we are truly holiday in Tassie. Just as I remembered great selection of ice cream and sorbet. The coffee was amazing.
A. H.
A delightful experience. The staff were friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was lovely, with a great outlook. The food was delicious, the stand-out dish being sashimi scallops - absolutely packed with interesting flavours. Highly recommend eating here
s. j.
Had lunch there for Easter Friday and after reading the reviews was a little concerned about price v's quality especially as I walked past their lower deck and saw such lovely fresh fish meals being served. I was how ever pleasantly surprised. The atmosphere was relaxing and inviting , the food was better than I expected and the service good. We were asked when we wanted each dish served and everything flowed smoothly. The seafood platter is so nice and the total bill including wine was $90 pp. We got what we paid for on that day. Yum Yum

***Update*** This review was meant for Mures Upper Deck and was originally posted to Mures Lower Deck. I have updated my review to add that they reached out immediately after seeing the review and provided a more than reasonable resolution to rectify our issues. We are honestly taken back by how kind, caring and thoughtful the management/ownership group are regarding their customers. Please if you have any issues bring them up immediately with staff while present, you will not be disappointed by their response. Very friendly and highly professional place of business. Thank you. Also please note that the seafood here is by far the highest quality I've had, it was extremely fresh and cooked perfectly. I have changed the star review based on the response from staff as we are more than pleased with the outcome.
(Original review)
Fish and chips was overwhelmingly overpriced for the taste. Portions were more than enough, salad was very simple and basic, chips were good, fish batter was very bland but fish was super fresh and not fishy at all.
However this is where the good parts (few to begin with) of this place end. The service was atrocious...... greeter at the bar was condescending, looked us up and down and responded "cool" when we asked for a table for two. Albeit we finished a day of hiking and didn't look quite as fresh as the rest of the customers, this should not change the greeting of new customers walking in.
The server was awkward and brought out the wrong cider to start, found the cider to be quite good so didn't bother mentioning it. Starter scallops brought out were quite good, food came shortly after which as mentioned above was average at best. This was the last time we saw the server for the night and no one else came to check on us to see how the meal was or to offer a drink or refill water. Other tables were checked on regularly and topped up as they ate, the next time we saw someone she was covering for what seemed to be our server who had gone home for the night. We asked for our cheque, paid and left.
If you want to spend $40 a plate on fish and chips I highly suggest you take your hard earned dollars elsewhere. You will pay premium prices for subpar food and for what I wish I could call bad service....but it's impossible to rate the service as there was none.....it simply didn't exist.
Go somewhere else, tasmania is full of bright cheery people who will enjoy serving you and that you will enjoy being. This place is not one of those!

God restaurant with good wines. We had blue fin tuna tataki, fish&chips (ping ling) and poached pears. Everything delicious.
R. M.
When we visited Mures Upper deck in June 2019, we ordered the fish chowder (Amazing!, huge pieces of fish, and whole scallop) oysters (also Amazing and fresh)Finally, Morton Bay Bug.... You will never find better. The service was very friendly and second to none.
Thank you for such an amazing experience.
C. O.
The staff are great & so is the food I have been several timrs now & will go again. The coctails are the best in town.
L. F.
Everything was perfect! We tried the Shared Platter and everything was cooked to perfection. The portions was very generous and all produce fresh.
Would absolutely recommend.
T. F.
Fantastic experience. Satff were friendly and polite, service was fast and efficient and the food was amazing.
We ordered the seafood basket for two, the bugs were delicious and the scallops were fresh.
This all went with a great wines from a huge wine list. A great night out to celebrate a birthday. Thanks Mures!

Came here to celebrate my partner's birthday and glad we did. Food was gorgeous, customer service was friendly, polite and a keen eye for our needs. Recommend the Oysters Kilpatrick, seafood laksa and white fish. Also, the selection of white wine we had was pleasant and smooth.
The atmosphere is very relaxing.

The quality of the food left me and my companions speechless. I don’t normally rave about good food online but I had to make an exception. It was consistently outstanding cuisine worth every cent. We had the eye fillets prepared 2 ways (medium well and blue) both cooked to perfection. I was using a butter knife for the blue steak which was so tender it was effortless to glide through it. The broccoli and beans to accompany our steaks were impressively fresh and retained their organic flavors. The jus did not overpower the steaks at all. We also ordered a dozen mixed oysters that had unrivaled freshness...they literally tasted like they came straight out of the sea. The Thai version had a great balance of reminiscent flavors that transported you. My partner ordered the seafood platter for one and could not fault any of the individual tastes. It really felt that there was a Michelin chef moonlighting in the kitchen dazzling patrons with mind blowing cuisine.
Dessert (coffee brûlée, poached pear, lemon & mixed berries mousse) totally exceeded expectations. We ate a great deal of food but came away feeling so pleasant that lunch became the main event of the day. Thank you to all the staff at Mures who have made this an unforgettable dining experience. We will be sure to recommend to our friends and family in Sydney who may wish to frequent Hobart.
T. S.
Great restaurant, highly recommend the feed me menu as it comes with a large portion of food which are extremely tasty. Defo worth dropping in at least once.
M. M.
Very good selection of fresh oysters, great selection of wines- however overpriced and amazing food. Got the salmon which was cooked perfectly and the confit duck cooked perfectly as well. Would recommend for a great fine dining experience but expect the price tag that comes with it. Amazing quality service as well.
J. S.
Excellent food. We went for lunch. We started with the pulled pork croquettes. Yummy! I had the seafood spaghetti and my wife had the salmon. Both absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.
M. K.
Really nice fish and chips and also the octopus dish we ordered. Great view of the harbour as well.
D.
Entree scallop was delicious highly delectable... I had the main tasmanian salmon which was delightful, it had lentils which really complemented the salmon. My Girlfried had the risotto which was really flavorsome... the wine was quality and the experience was as well. Highly recommend
N. h.
we enjoyed the view and the pancake over the weekend. nt too busy. will visit again.A+
N. y.
All the foods delicious, especially the oysters , highly recommend the natural one, the price is fair enough for everyone, the staffs are all friendly and kind
N. C.
The waitress was very attentive and kind but the fish and chips were not up to the quality of a 5 star restaurant. In fact, you can get better fish and chips elsewhere. The oysters too were just acceptable and the kilpatrick sauce tasted like supermarket purchased bbq sauce.
Despite that, the Tasmanian Salmon on lentils was very nice and so was the Seaford laska.
Expensive but not worth the money I’m afraid.
C. H.
Friendly staff but food nothing to write home about.
Meals were relatively expensive which made sense when they arrived as they were pretty huge...
Unfortunately not massively flavoursome. I left full but not satisfied.
We saw 2 other couples leave without finishing their meals looking similarly deflated.
Prime position on the waterfront this place has potential. We were just a little disappointed.
By no means BAD just a bit meh.
S. F.
Great food, wine and service
D. A.
I like this place. bit expensive but good quality and fresh sea food
R. H.
Don’t go past this place, brilliant food, view and service.
R. W.
The food here isn't cheap, but it is fabulous and we felt it was well worth the price. We had the laksa and an abalone appetizer and both were to die for! The dining room is pleasant, and the service is excellent. We'd highly recommend it for a special meal out (or casual meals if you happen to be wealthy).
j. r.
Great service and amazing food. Will be always a must go for me everytime I visit.
P. S.
Tried to place this review a few weeks ago but unsuccessful. So here it is. Dined at this restaurant with my wife and while her main course was not quite up to the standard to which we were accustom we were still happy to pay and leave. But when the service attendant questioned why half of our meals (I had the seafood Laksa) were uneaten, we told him why and that was that. But he returned to the table to inform us that it was not satisfactory so we were not charged for my wife's meal which we thought was a nice gesture. But as we were about to leave, the waiter said we were invited back the following week and that the meal would not be charged. We returned a week later and while we expected only the main meals to be free, the entire bill came to zero which included two drinks each. We have always loved this restaurant and this is one of the reasons why it is considered the best seafood house in Tasmania by more than just a few. We are customers forever.
G. B.
Brilliant service and amazing food. Beautiful view across the Hobart harbour front. Hope to come back soon!
M. P.

R. G.
Sensational seafood chowder. One of the best I've had loaded with seafood which was a meal in itself but I had the snapper as well which was absolutely fresh and delicious. Topped with a fantastic Tasmanian Riesling this was a top class meal

Enjoyed a fantastic seafood meal, nicely lit and comfortable for all diners. Food was served in a timely manner and was fairly priced. Be nice to have parking available for the restaurant, mostly paid parking available.

Arrived in Hobart after getting married in Qld. My beautiful bride and I found ourselves at constitution dock looking for somewhere to grab a light lunch, and Mures Upper Deck fit the bill. We ordered 4 entrees, sashimi, scallops, oysters and a seafood tasting plate. So fresh, so tasty, such a great start to dining in Hobart.
D. D. L.
The entrees were fine, fresh and tasty. The salmon however had scales and I had to return it as it wasn't cleaned properly. Very disappointing for a high end resturant.
V. C.
Lovely cozy place, variety of seafood clean and fresh. Highly recommended
T. P.
Myself and my partner had a main and dessert at the restaurant tonight. It was easily the best meal we have had in a very long time ,the service was outstanding and the atmosphere was fantastic. Very happy ☺🖒
a. r.
this restraunt has a sophisticated menu and wine list with something for everyone

Excellent restaurant showcasing Tasmania's fruits of the sea.
Great, friendly staff and tasty, well presented cuisine.
D. D.
Absolutely delicious seafood laksa, and brilliant friendly service. Free bread ( including gluten free for coeliac husband)!!!! You don't get that many places these days.
I couldn't finish my laksa, it was huge and full of seafood.
L. S.
This place was so yummy and produce was really fresh. Definitely lived up to the hotel excellent Tasmanian food reputation. Service and staff were also on point!
L.
Definitely a shadow of its former self. Now mainly an eating hub for rich Asian tourists. Food was nice but came with an unfair price tag. I suppose we were paying for the view. Fiancée felt sick after eating their Morton Bay Bug, so use your own discretion.
R. B.
Great ambiance and friendly staff. Very nice experience for our little family. Recommended for all seafood lovers.
G. D.
Tried their Steak and Tasmania Ocean Trout. It was simply superb and excellent. One of the best ever Trout you could enjoy.
V. W.
Mures Upper Deck is definitely a wonderous place to go to. The quantity of the seafood platter for one was more than I expected. My son ordered the seafood spaghetti and he ate every single piece of it. He wanted to say "it was soooooooo good."
D. P.
I love tassie seafood and if you are looking for the freshest and best you can't go past Mures upper deck and also downstairs that has a big family friendly area with lounges and a large selection of delicious icecream.
I. H.
Delicious fresh fish, yummy seafood chowder & great lookout over harbour.
A. T.
Friendly service, excellent location and ambiance, generous food with delectable flavours. We cannot wait to return!
M. G.
Ridiculously expensive - but very nice food. If you have good company get a window seat and it's a wonderful experience. Would go again for the food, would stay away because of the pricing.
S. B.
Met up with old friends on a visit back to Tassie. Had a really great evening, comfortable atmosphere to enjoy time with our mates. Food and wine great, staff friendly, pace unrushed. Will go again when back in town.
J. R.
like the lobster here. Tender
D. R.
Food was great, however service could have been improved... We waited 45mins from our starter to main dish. Would recommend the trout.
C. H.
One of the best restaurant experiences we've ever had. Can't wait to get back. Hope Leo the waiter is still there. Chris and Deb.

I must say the restaurant is overrated. Both service and food. The steak was over cooked, lobster is not bad. Won't go again.
P. H.
First rate service. Modern Australian alongside traditional treatment of ultra fresh seafood. Very satisfying.
M. W.
Had the panko prawns at the BROKEN HILL demo club once but the seafood at @MURES is much better...just seems fresher and less rubbery! Great service too...11/10

I had reserved a table more than a week ago, requested for a table by the window. We were given that, thanks. Food was decent, and priced on the high side. Main comment is that the hot food served (eg the quail and and the trevalla) were not hot but at room temperature.
Staff were quite friendly. Special shout-out to Debra, who was helpful and provided excellent service. Thank you!
R. S.
Came a couple of times in our stay at Hobart. Good prices for the meals. Didn’t like how you had to order your food at one side of the restaurant then go to another side of the restaurant for a coffee but had to go back to the food section to get an orange juice. Salad was nice, a slightly bigger serving would be ideal. Had the vegetarian wrap for brekkie, could do with something either on the side or something more in the wrap such as tomato, hallumi etc. good friendly service.

(Translated) Today's first meal dinner, the waiter introduced champagne to drink, the oysters have more levels than the factory, may be more fat. The abalone slices of abalone slices are generally soup. However, after eating oysters and abalone, I have waited for 30 minutes for 3 main dishes, and everyone else has waited for us for a long time without serving. The waiters were very polite and replied, and he said that the chef could not urge. The pork is salty, the steak is loose, and the fish has no taste. It is average in general. But the most famous is that lobsters have no food. If you want to wait ~ wait ~ to thank you for the flowers, so it is a good place. 😛

(Translated) Excellent home for a single man and around 22h (it's very late for Hobart), thank you!
I chose to make simple by choosing a wild fish and chips with a glass of white, the experienced waiter was very cordial, very beautiful view on the harbor and beautiful marine decoration. Well it was the most expensive fish and chips of my life, but these are the normal Hobart prices and I had a choice and it was accompanied by a very well prepared salad and it was GOOD. Tasmanian Pinot gris wine very well and I was not counted the bottle of sparkling water ....
Excellent evening, I sent a small film of atmosphere to my friends (it's not my habit) I recommend Mures Upper Deck (try Lower Deck too) and I should have come back before leaving Hobart ... . Perfect.

Parfait.
