Just spent the most wonderful evening dining here with a friend, enjoying the Christmas Chef’s Table (both the standard + vegetarian menus) - highly recommend! Delicious food, excellent service, cosy atmosphere - well done all round.

Raincheck is one of my absolute favourite cafes in Hobart. It had been a while since going for breakfast and I was not disappointed! The food is always spot on. My breakfast burger of pulled pork, halloumi, egg and hash browns was bloody delicious! The coffee is always excellent and the staff are some of the best around. Do yourself a favour and head there for breakfast , lunch or dinner!

Great variety selection of drinks on the menu from alcoholic to hot drinks to kombucha to cold press juice. Relaxed atmosphere with variety of seating from couches tables and high stools. My order got missed until the shops closing time but the store was happy to do a refund.

I honestly have no idea why I've never been here before. The staff are super friendly, the atmosphere vibrant and the food absolutely delicious. It doesn't seem like much from the outside, but once you've experienced this place, you'll know why it's so popular with the local crowd.

It has been about 5 years since I've been here and it's now under new ownership. I just had a large cap and a beef burger. The service was every bit as good as before and the food maybe even a little better. The serving was actually way more than I could eat so no problems there.

Just had my first coffee at this funky establishment...it was awesome. Will be back to check out food and drink options, which look great from the menu I read...breakfast and lunch options. Update 17th May 2021 - Came back for breakfast and had Eggs Benedict...they blew my mind. I need 6 Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ for this cafe...they even give you a steak knife for the sourdough...that’s an amazing care factor!

A great spot for coffee, brunch, lunch or dinner in North Hobart. The staff are always friendly and welcoming. There is indoor and outdoor seating (on the sidewalk, Paris-style) but is can get busy on weekend mornings so get in early for a seat. Very good menu and range of sweets.

Did some wandering around North Hobart and found this place. Sat down, and was instantly attended to with water and menus. Ordered the Fruit toast with jam. My partner had eggs and Avo from memory. Must say, the best Fruit Toast I have had. The jam was exceptional. Ordered the same in Melbourne a few days later in one of the coffee shops in centre place and nowhere near as good.

The waitress serving us, possibly the manager was one of the rudest servers I have ever had. No smile or greeting upon entering, she made us feel very unwelcome. Took our order and threw our cutlery down. Just basically rude and unhappy throughout our whole dining experience. The coffee was very milky and not anything to write home about. The food however, was amazing. Perhaps if the service improves we will return.

Hobart has lots of nice cafes. But what they also have is lots of funky named cafes. I have lived in most Australian cities but no where comes up with these funky names like Hobart. The edgy named Raincheck is one of them. In New Town its in the heart of the cultural scene in Hobart. A bit like Brunswick in Melbourne and Chippendale in Sydney. Food is good and the service is better.

Partner and I wanted to go out to dinner to celebrate on a Friday night, but didn't want to be somewhere overly crowded with music too loud to hear eachother. Ended up here. It was an itimiate, quiet little place that even though there were other customers around it felt like we were there alone. The staff is very knowledgeable and upbeat, the food was amazing and came out really quick. Would recommend this place to anyone 10/10 going back again.

Good food, friendly staff, good atmoaphere good service. Use of fresh ingredients, their willingness and ability to provide food choices to those who are gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian, vegan, etc, and their attitude towards being environmentally sustainable (e.g. using bio friendly napkins, paper towel, neutral soaps etc) puts this at a 5 star experience. Only downside is that it can get fairly noisy but that one point pales in comparison to the overwhelming positives rain check has.

I just stopped here for a coffee but even that was good and the seating varied from normal tables, outdoor and comfy lounges. Had a biscuit with coffee which was white chocolate and cranberry. Yummy. Staff were realky great I'm sure food would be good too.

Of course they do not say anything but it is the energy given in the place... I had a birthday lunch here recently. My father and I both chose the calamari which was crumbed with parmesan which we then dipped into a sweet thai style sauce. The pine nut salad was delicious and the portions were good. A careful selection featuring mostly local and Australian wine cellars, the white wine appeared watered down, but as dad mentioned it was a blessing not a curse. Relaxed atmosphere, attentive friendly staff and funky decor create a cosy 'withit' ambience. I love their fudgey hot chocolates but I managed to not succumb this time!

Traveling solo in Hobart this is a perfect place for dinner. Friendly welcoming service - had a coffee here earlier which is what prompted the dinner visit. What a treat. Perfectly cooked duck with an abundance of perfectly cooked veggies and next level delicious crispy potatoes served with a subtle and tasty red wine jus. (Everything was so good I forgave the fact that it was served in a bowl style plate which I really don’t enjoy for food which needs cutting)
