Fortunately for us all the previous restaurants we had tried were booked out. Sometimes you just get lucky and the Universe smiles upon you...
What we had the pleasure of experiencing over the following hours turned out to be THE absolute highlight of our Tassie foodie journey.
Simple yet complex food, excellent service and attention, great cocktails, awesome location and view of the harbour with an atmosphere that allowed conversation without being sterile.
The 'Feed Me' option was an excellent suggestion where each dish was a highlight.
Could not recommend The Black Footed Pig more highly!

The meals were fantastic... the best we've had in Tasmania. We worked our way down their list of G&T (Gin and Tonic) cocktails...and they were all excellent and a little unusual. We ordered from their main menu rather then the tapas menu. Just a little tip...when we tried to book a table there was nothing available,but we rang and were offered a table in the bar section... which was perfect.

Last minute booking on a busy Thursday night. They squeezed us in. The most remarkable food experience in a waterfront location. Chose the 'feed me' option. This was a surprise find in Hobart. We're from Melbourne & were pleasantly surprised to find this ace. My wife, who's been to Spain - I haven't - raved about it's 'authenticity'. The food's very good & the wine-list is very good, too, with lots of Spanish labels & a good selection of sherry, which I like. My recommendation: go, if you can.

We had a private dinning experience which was closed off from others. It was lovely to enjoy dinner with just group of friends in sight. Some of us paid $75 per person for banquet option. Started from 7pm and the last dish arrived at 10pm...
Mostly enjoyed jugs of fruity cocktails/mocktails.
food served in small portion ,but with amazing taste and good quality. it also helped
that we dined at another restaurant before. Otherwise would had left feeling slighy unsatisfied.

Delicious food and wine. We had the set menu and there was heaps of food and it was all great. Only downside was that the restaurant has quite poor acoustics so it was very noisy, which made it a bit difficult to talk across the table to one another (we were on a large round table).

On a recent visit to Hobart with my wife, we had the pleasure of enjoying a dinner at The Black Footed Pig.
We have eaten at many Spanish restaurants around Australia and we would put this one up there with the best. It was definitely a mix of Spanish and Modern Australian but done exceptionally well.
The service was great. The food was creative and very delicious.
The atmosphere and location was stunning, right on the water's edge in one of the new wharf areas in Hobart.
We really couldnt fault it. Every dish was exciting and we came away wishing we were in Hobart longer to go again. There selection of wines was also good.
All in all a great experience and one whish we would highly recommend to anyone visiting Hobart. You wont be disappointed.

The food here was delicious and the service was excellent! Our waiter, Aaron was very friendly, attentive and informative. He explained the menu very well and was able to give us recommendations on the amount of dishes we would need to feed our group. We also had a birthday in our group and we request a suprise cake which was brought out at the end of the meal. A great way to end the night. Aaron also gave some recommendations of other places to visit while in Hobart which was above and beyond.

Amazing quality food. We had 3 starters(stuffed peppers, chorizo and scallops) and 2 larger main dishes (lamb shoulder and octopus). All were cooked to perfection. The service was great - very attentive but not over the top. Pricing is pretty expensive, but worth it for the quality. Will be back soon!

Lovely restaurant for a meal or two.. it was so good, I came back for seconds! Loved the roasted cauliflower, scallops and also pork belly dishes. Other dishes were tasty and pretty. Wasn’t too impressed with their paella though.

An interesting and rewarding restaurant experience. Located in a back street close to the waterfront, BFP offers a distinct and pleasant Spanish twist to Hobart dining. The menu is small but varied, with a strong suite of gluten free options. The tapas entrees are excellent and perfect for sharing, and the mains are small but strong on flavour and quality. They are also suitable for sharing.
Service was spot on - attentive without being overbearing. Simple but pleasant decor and good value - under $300 for four people with wine.

This place is next level from the moment u walk in the door until the time you leave. The staff and service are second to none. The food is devine not only in looks but in taste. For a hidden little Tapas and Bar it's a treasure to be found. The place was full but not uncomfortable, the music was suited to the atmosphere and made the surrounds what they were. The set menu was just enough of each dish and tantalised every taste bud. For a more upmarket treat this is definitely the place to go!!

I visited this beautiful restaurant with my friend when we were went to Tassie on a holiday before the lockdown. Easily the best meal we had during the trip! The staff were so friendly and attentive, and the food was fresh and mouth-wateringly delicious. Looking forward to visiting this lovely establishment again when things get better.

Excellent food and service. Superb tempranillo. The staff are very attentive and friendly. We celebrated my partner's birthday here last June and everyone enjoyed their food. Unique food and brilliant service. We went here as a large group for a birthday. We ordered 20 odd dishes for the table and were all well fed. Our waiter did a great job of deciding for us based on our verbal food preferences which was great because the food just kept coming and we could just focus on having fun! We came here on our first night in Hobart. We had no reservation and a 1 year old in tow. The owners were the friendliest most welcoming hosts we've ever come across. My little girl was given her own cutlery, bread and a special fruit salad bowl while we had dinner. The staff came and talked to us and her and made sure we were well looked after. The food was amazing, cured ocean trout tartare was to die for, even my non-seafood eating dad enjoyed it. We will definitely be coming back on our next Tasmania holiday!

Dined at the BFP last night with girlfriends. Lovely ambience to place, interesting decor, lovely staff and excellent excellent food. We shared 8 dishes and could not fault any. Can't pick a favourite although the octopus certainly lived up to expectation, salmon was very good with dressing enhancing rather than overpowering. We really enjoyed our dinner at the Black Footed Pig. It was the perfect setting over the harbour and the restaurant did not disappoint. Perfect mix of local seafood and produce. The staff were lovely and very attentive. We usually like to have dinner a little later in the evening however we’re thrilled we picked an earlier sitting to enjoy the view. We will be making another stop here on our next visit to Hobart.
