A good halfway stop between Melbourne and Albury. Cafe has indoor seating, a cheap meal combo is Toasted ham, cheese and tomato with coffee under $10. If you only want coffee, the service station has a good self serve coffee machine starting from $1. There's also fast charging stations for E.V's.

Today i stopped for a shower and a meal. The shower was hot with great pressure. A chair was included to place my belongings and a screen door so as not to get them wet. For my meal i ordered a golden, delicious Beef Schnitzel with Vegetables and gravy. While not massive it was just big enough that i felt more than satisfied and didn't leave any on my plate for Miss Manners (sorry). For my drinking pleasure i ordered a perfect Iced Coffee in a glass with cream near on 3"s spilling over the top! No sweetener needed as the iced cream within provided just enough. I was not disappointed at all. They have it all at Avenel.

Lower country fuel prices, easy access, ample parking, truckie stop..so you knw the food is good! Amenities are some what dated but reasonably clean n tidy. Large enough so little delay. Always a large selection of fast food to go. Great sit down menu and good coffee,

The highchair available for us to use was filthy and needed a good hosing down. The buckles were also broken so there was nothing to hold baby in. We waited ages for our meals and although the roast beef roll tasted ok there was too much gravy for the soft bread roll and it fell apart everywhere as I tried to pick it up. We ordered two and they were both the same. The poor foreign tourist in front of us was overcharged by the server who couldn't explain in English very well why the price he was being charged was different from the one advertised on the big board behind the counter. The toilet was clean but the baby change is in the ladies' toilet which is frustrating for Dads who are in charge of the nappy changes.

Food standard but out quickly. They forgot our chicken tendies but we obtained a refund. Trucks stop there a lot and a truck enthusiast such as myself can stand for ages watching them come and go.

This place is open 24/7 & is located within Caltex service station. food is very reasonably priced plenty of space to eat in nice and cosy not overly big. friendly staff clean toilets also good showers for truck drivers. Plenty of parking for both cars and trucks good spot for rest break feels safe & right off highway

Here at the Avenel servo the service is always decent and food is also fine. While nothing is amazing and the prices at the starmart are bit steep it's a servo and what did you really expect. Yes sure it's bit grimmy and not exactly Michelin star it's still a decent servo.

been going here now for ten years whilst having cancer treatment and reconstructive surgery. food has been cooked and served to cator for my disability, witha smile. Carnt recommend Avenel roadhouse enough for there support & help so I could Eat & drink. A lot of townhouses wont but there service here by the owners, staff & cook I've appreciated. Especially after surgery and traveling home hungry and thirsty. Thankyou.

The Roadhouse is a good place to stop on the way to Wodonga, to fuel up and buy some lunch, we find the staff very friendly and the food quite yummy, as we have been travelling through Avenel for quite a number of years , I always enjoy good old fashioned service.

There is a selection of food available for dine in or take away. Plenty of parking. FYI. There is also a truck stop here.

The toilets needed cleaning and you need to do something about the flies in the toilet. The potato cakes in the roadhouse were dry and chewy. Generally we like stopping at Avenel when we go up to visit family in Albury.

Always a great stopping point on the way to Winton or Wangaratta. It is not a Maccas its a down to earth 'real' roadhouse style stop. It really meeds a good warning sign so you don't miss it while driving and maybe a big sign 1/2 or 1 km before it both ways. Even though I know it, I have missed it too. Dont miss it!
