Great food! We’re from Sydney and have come here a few times because we love it so much! Highly recommend the butter chicken burger, masala fries and biryani aranchini balls. The cocktails and drinks here are good as well. Only thing we didn’t like was the dessert, masala tea crème brûlée was not set and didn’t taste anything like masala tea. I’d say stick with the savory portion of the menu and you can’t go wrong. Delicious food and amazing play at traditional Indian flavors but presented in a modern way!!

This place has some really innovative menu items that are an Indian take on western burgers. We ordered the butter chicken burger, chilli chicken burger, keema pao and vada pao burger. Great tasting burgers, I must say! The cocktails too were delicious... Again, some Indian traditional drinks were spiked with alcohol to make some lovely, innovative cocktails. I'll definitely be returning to taste some other items on the menu.

Am from Sydney but in Melbourne on a holiday and had heard a bit about Burger Shurger. Visited here today with the family and found it really good. The ambience, the food and service was all top class. Ordered Mr 65 Burger and it took me back to the days of Indian street food but with a very classical modern touch. Very personable young chef who took pains to put us at ease, took us on their hospitality journey and pleasantly, welcomed feedback. Thank you for having us today and we look forward to visiting again in the future. Wish you all success and maybe a restaurant in Sydney some day !

This has the best Indian burgers I have ever had, and the sides are just as good especially the Butter Chicken fries and the Chicken Pakov. I received some really good service as well. The waiter is friendly and pretty knowledgeable. I highly recommend visiting.

This place is so cool. They have some delicious indian flavours for burgers and innovative cocktails. Their chilli potatoes is our must eat. I also like the ambience and the owners are so lovely people. Ambience is too good All the items we tasted there were at their best taste After several months of lockdown, I couldn’t wait any longer and today I got to experience something I haven’t experienced before. There’s something special about this place BURGER SHRUGER, actually no, there’s not something, there’s a lot of things. The fusion of traditional Indian dishes with western style burgers is like nothing I’ve seen or eaten before, so glossy and sharp looking it’s almost like glass! It’s not heavy at all though, light and crispy. The seasoning that the hot fried keema is doused in is also like a first for me, super spicy, then soft, then spicy again. The spices are actually perfect, nothing more to say here. My taste buds are enlightened. The Momos and fries are epic too. The pickles are thick cut so they’re much more of a feature in the burger. Also got to have the Pizza, Keema fries and Butter chicken fries— all phenomenal. Seriously, this is something special, just go get it. Many more items... This place is delightfully unique and easy to love. I’ve never been more enticed to return to a restaurant multiple times in order to try everything on the menu like I have with Burger Shurger. Butter chicken burger, chilli crab burger, keema fries, butter chicken fries (yup, fries loaded with butter chicken gravy.... so good). Besides the food they also have a fantastic range of craft beers and rare whiskies if that floats your boat. Definitely worth checking out this place if you’re in the area.

Went in for a dine in with friends and the experience was just amazing. Great ambiance and I have to say the customer service was so amazing. Really makes your day when u get good customer service. The food was literally amazing, ordered a variety of burgers and they were all amazing, the momos just reminded me of India. Cocktails/Mocktails I was a bit skeptical bout them and they turned out to be the highlight of the day. The aam panna was absolutely amazing. The girl serving did a great job. And definitely recommend to anyone who just wants good Indian burgers and great drinks.

We went there with few friends, this place is a pleasant surprise in every way. The fusion burgers are nice. The cocktails are even better. This kind of reminds you of indian street food. At this place its a bit polished and defined. You can figure this out by the menu, you don't find the usual suspectson the menu, instead you get a clever combinations which actually tastes good. Burger Shurger would have to be my favourite Indian fusion restaurant in Melbourne and I love the butter chicken burger and butter chicken fries. Please see my previous review (from zomato) below. Felt the need to review on Google as have seen a number of 1 star reviews appear to be basing their opinion on the art of the wall rather than the food in their bellies... I’m all for fair reviews of food and service but hopefully people can see past those fake reviews and enjoy what is a unique dining Indian fusion dining experience. Previous Review We were stoked that Burger Shurger delivered to Box Hill area for a special Saturday delivery event. Being stuck in a 5km bubble really limits my eating out so good to get my Indian fusion hit. Tonight we had the chicken tikka naan pizza, the ultra soft tender chicken chetinad Bao, the crispy chicken pakora and an authentic cardamom laced butter chicken which we had for dinner a few days later. We really enjoyed the lot but the baos were standout of the fusion food. The butter chicken was exceptional but not the unauthentic butter chicken you might be familiar with... bold and beautiful. Would definitely be a regular here if they were a little closer to home. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Previous Review I was so excited to be visiting Burger Shurger to try out their Indian fusion burgers. I had seen insta images of a butter chicken burger, so was very keen to get aquatinted with this item in particular given it combined two of my favourite dishes in one. It was relatively quiet when we arrived but that gave a chance to check out the “tongue in cheek” wall art and comfy cozy restaurant area. The menu is quite comprehensive in the burger department and includes an impressive four vegetarian burgers making it one of the top vego burger spots in Melbourne. Other than my obligatory Butter Chicken there were three other chicken burger options, plus another 3 beef and a lamb. There is a range of loaded fries, chicken ribs and they even have a Nutella dessert pizza. The butter chicken burger was so good I’ll mention it for a third time. Stunning tasty tender chicken with a real butter chicken sauce. Served in a charcoal bun, this was my favourite burger of the night. Also nice was the Jucy Lucy Burger which had slow sous vide beef mince which was cooked just over medium, cheesy goodness and a beetroot bun. This made for one tasty burger. The patty was quite oval which made for a messy but delicious eat. We also tried the Pataka Chicken Ribs with their spicy sweet sauce. Quite generously sized ribs too... plenty of meat. The Crispy Chilli potatoes was also very tasty. We tried some interesting soft drinks. I went for thumbs up cola which has been in India for, like, ever and some of the organic soda were also unique. As well as softies they have a range of beers, wines and spirits to help you ease Into your evening. I suffered again from over indulging in savoury, so wasn’t able find the space for the Nutella burger but did get to try the yummy crispy churros that would normally accompany the Nutella burger... yum. With recipes and sauces all developed in house by the owners, both hospitality newbies, the flavours they get into their burgers is truely marvellous and I hope Melbourne recognises this little burger shop for its unique fusion experience.

Ever since I left India for Melbourne, I never really had a chance to taste the real Indian food. I have tried many famous restaurants across the city, and eventually, I gave up. Never in my million dreams, I thought I would experience the real Indian Butter Chicken from a Burger Place. Here is the story of me discovering the taste of India in the streets of Melbourne. Located in the lovely suburb of Elsternwick, Burger Shurger offers you with a handpicked selection of Indian fusion dishes especially, burgers. Not to worry, this review is not at all biased, and emotions are poured from the heart. Foods ordered: Malai Kebab Chicken Burger, The Mighty Butter Chicken, Chicken Chettinad Bao, Momos Chicken, Masala Chai Creme Brulee, Aam Panna (Tangy Mango) Margarita and Classic Virgin Mojito with an Indian Twist. Ambiance: As you would expect, Indian songs fill up the place and offers you a Desi welcome. The outside area could use some more customization as it looks like two tables and chairs on a sidewalk. Maybe the council regulations, but the evening sunlight has to be taken care of if people want to sit out there. Customer Service: The owner manages herself during weekdays and weekends; there will be two staff — however, its good to have one extra staff all the time to keep it functional. I can't judge the customer care based on how we were treated; but, as I was observing the other tables, they all found pleased, and the response was prompt. Food Quality and Quantity: The quantities satisfied our hunger pangs. The owner's in-depth knowledge about the menu helped us a lot. A rare occasion where we felt delighted, especially, my Asian friend wanted to know what exactly he is eating. As I have updated on Instagram, for the first time in Melbourne Butter Chicken Tasted like the original Indian version and not some "Sugary Chicken Curry." I am not a fan of the Malai Kebab. It was my mistake ordering that I should have thought Malai means a lot of creams and lacks any strong masala flavor. If you are not into spicy food, then Malai Kebab burger is a good option. I wanted my Chinese friend to try the Momo's as we were fed up eating dumplings. The sauce was lip-smacking. The Masala Chai Creme Brulee was a surprising twist. The texture was perfect for a creme brulee, and yet it tasted like having a creamy masala chai — perfect amount of sweetness and a well-executed idea. The Aam Panna Margarita was so refreshing. However, the drink I liked the most was the Virgin Mojito with Chaat Masala. Value for money: Compared to other premium burger places in town, Burger Shurger will happily be my place to go if I wanted to try a burger. It's good to look back and dive into the tastes of your own country now and then. PS: On the menu, there were no options for non-alcoholic beverages other than soft drinks and some juices. I wish there were a Mocktails menu which can attract many customers and will look great on Instagram. The dining experience genuinely made me happy. Great work. I love to recommend this place to anyone.

Cool artwork and even cooler food! The flavours were bang-on, as good as anything anywhere in the world. Will be coming back regularly as we now want to try everything on the menu (though I suspect we'd be forgiven for continually going back to the malai kebab burger, chilli paneer burger and butter paneer fries again and again - they were amazing). This place is a hidden gem. The concept of Indian fusion into Burgers is an extraordinary idea. The restaurant is owned by Payal, a woman with full passion and enthusiasm to serve customers. The ambiance is really chilling and comfortable. The food & service here was so good but I had no option but to get back again in the following next week. It's hard to differentiate and would be unjustice if I rated any of the food below a perfect 5. But here is a suggestion of a few dishes which is my personal must try dishes without fail if it's your first visit here. 1. Vadapav Burger (extremely close to Mumbai's famous Vadapav) 2. Butter chicken burger.(Typical Delhi-wala Butter chicken with a black bun) 3. Pataka Ribs. 4. Not to forget Thums up. (Famous Indian soft drink with some strong fizz) Apart from that we have tried Forever classic Amchi Mumbai Say cheese M.r 65 Chicken Chettinand Bao Famous food, spectacular service & VFM pricing is a perfect example how togo about in the food industry. Very few restaurants are able todo so. I would highly recommend this restaurant as a must try when in Melbourne. It's a highly accessible place through public transport just a min walk from Elsternwick station, free 1P street parking is also available which is a huge sight of relief.

Burger Shurger was the bomb! Love their take on Indian Street food staples made into bar snacks. We had the chicken momos, butter chicken fries, butter chicken burger, Mr 65 Chicken Burger, and chicken bao, and could not fault a single dish. Burger Shurger combines Indian food in a modern contemporary way, particularly in burger form - their renowned for their Butter chicken burger and it lives up to the hype, the curry is authentic and the chicken is super tender! Their Chilli crab burger and the Shurgenator is also a notable mention. For sides, we loved the maggi noodles, onion rings and loaded fries. Highly recommend the cocktails which also are inspired by Indian cuisine and culture. Love the mural and neon, the venue has great vibes and you can tell it’s popular with locals.

We started with ordering some sides consisting some of our favorite assortments. - Keema fries : some traditional fries topped with Indian curry minced lamb, raita, chutney & spring onions - Momos: Nepalese steamed dumplings in both veg and chicken fillings comes with super spicy sauce - Biryani Arancini balls : veg Soya biryani crumbed crispy Arancini balls served with amazing shorba sauce . Out of many dishes We had ; * Chicken Malai kebab burger * chicken karahi naan rolls And these were the dishes which had completely authentic taste but were presented with a twist. . . We much much much recommend this place as here you will be able to experience some true Indian flavours.

I love Indian food and I love burgers. When you combine the two, it should be incredible, right? Well, it's close. Many people have said to try it here, and I'm glad I finally did. It is quite small inside, so probably best to make a reservation if you really want to be sure of getting a table. Speaking of which, the tables are downright small, and to be honest, when ordering a few sharing dishes, it's almost impossible to eat/move as there are plates, cutlery, glasses and food all over the show and that was a little annoying. To the food ... We shared the Butter Chicken Fries and they were ok. The fries themselves weren't anything special (though nice), but the sauce was quite flavoursome. It was a bit on the hot side, and we totally forgot to ask for the dishes to be made mild. The flavour of the sauce wasn't as I know Butter Chicken to be. It had more of a cinnamon and nutmeg flavour throughout, which yes, was nice, but not like the Butter Chicken you might be expecting. I also ordered the Butter Chicken Burger, because that's just two of my favourite foods together. It was good. Just good. It came on a black bun (which is sweet, and yet the filling is savoury. So if you don't like mixing sweet and savoury ... just keep it in mind). The chicken was crumbed beautifully and tasted good. The sauce was different to that of the fries. It was definitely closer to what I'd get at an Indian restaurant. It came with onion and lettuce and I asked them to take out the mint yoghurt. It's pretty hard to eat. I found it best to take off the top bun and just eat it with a knife and fork. I suppose a guy with big hands, big mouth and big appetite would be fine, but I'm dainty 😉 . The flavour was great. I really enjoyed it. My dinning companion also ordered the Popcorn Chicken that had a cheese sauce on it. She said it was over cooked, but flavourful. I personally didn't like the cheese. It's not a cheese sauce per se; it's just melted cheese and it was a little strong for my liking. Overall. The food was good and worthy of another visit, though not in a hurry. The service was good. The food came out quickly and the staff were all friendly. I thought there was good value there, and I'd be happy one day to come here again. Definitely a must for burger and Indian fans.

Quite in a mood to have some good burgers, and Zomato Gold Membership offer made it quite easy for us to choose Burger Shurger,also we were craving for Wills Batch Ice cream and these two are quite close to each other. Ordered a Chicken Naan Wrap, Butter Chicken Burger and Chilly Potatoes. Chicken wrap was DeLish....With perfectly cooked and spiced Chicken and a drizzle of Raita dressing and Onion salad. Butter Chicken Burger had a crispy fried Chicken Patty with Butter Chicken dressing and it was yummy as well. The disappointment was Chilly potatoes which looked like ketchup drizzled over chips tempered in garlic. Would have liked some authentic taste there. Deserves a round of applause for not just putting the effort of fusing Indian cuisine with Burgers and Chips but also serving food that is Finger-Licking-Good. Plenty of vegetarian / vegan to choose from, they also have a well stocked bar and Thumbs-Up (Indian version of Cola). Attendants are amazingly warm and sweet. Definitely returning.

I'll give 5 stars for hospitality and ambience. We dropped in for a late lunch and tried couple of items from the menu. The chicken Momos and the dip wasn't disappointing. Loved their choice of beer of the month, an APA. The Classic Burger would have been better if the base bun wasn't cold. The Chicken Pakoda was too salty and over fried for us.

Burger Shurger is one of my favorite restaurants with a truly authentic and inspired food and cocktail menu with a wide variety of Craft beers. The food is resonates of flavors from different parts of India and brings back nostalgia of home. I would really recommend this restaurant who wants to try food which is inspired from the roots of the subcontinent with a bang of the western culture. One of the superb fusion Indian style food. Been going to Burger Shurger since it opened, menu is constantly evolving with ample and wonderful options for vegetarians / meat lovers. Had tried almost everything vegetarian on menu and everything was delectable. Special mentions for the superb say cheese burger, amchi mumbai burger, cauliflower bao and chilli potato always amazing and consistent good flavour. Drinks menu is equally amazing and the fusion cocktails are so worth trying. Staff is always courteous and service is amazing as always.

Yum, tasteful, fresh, finger licking good, and any other adjective you’d find to describe really really good food, all applies to Burger Shurger. They have taken Burgers to another level and it sure disappoints no one. The place is very welcoming and very quirky. And food is always fresh, I’ve loved everything I’ve tried. If I ever move to Elsternwick, it will only be to be closer to this restaurant if Uber Eats don’t increase their delivery radius! I mean it. Go for dinner here, have a burger shurger! We have recently visited this place as a family. To me it was an innovative idea of creating an Indian fusion burger. The service and hospitaility of the staff is surely worth highlighting, no doubt there exists a good customer service component in there. The food surely resonates the taste buds of any nationale, so as the ambience. The only thing that was not convincing was their pricing on the 'Mocktails', beware!!! It was exhorbitantly high. Being an Indian by birth, I could easily realise it was a soda mix with Lemon and Chat masala, for which they charged $14 each. Please think twice before ordering any non-alcoholic drink here. This is a one time must go restaurant, but don't think they have many repeat customers. It is better the owner re-thinks about the pricing on their menu!!

Burger Shurger is an overture owned by young Indian couple Payal and Prasuk who are hardworking, passionate and foodie which surely reflects through their service. The flavours, hospitality and their service are worth spending your time and money. I had a pleasant dining experience with food and the charming couple who are always around willing to exchange interesting conversation. For this reason, I would highly recommend going to this Burger place. I am surely heading there soon again with my group of friends to try something new on my plate and the Masala Chai Crème Brulee.

Loved this place - we had some butter chicken paneer fries to start with which were incredible, I couldn't put my fork down - they are thin like shoestring fries which is my favourite, with the medium spicy butter chicken on top and then grated paneer on top of that. Then I had a chilli crab burger which blew me away, spicy but also so tasty, like that tasty kind of spicy as opposed to just spice for spice's sake. Vadapav, as per Indian standards, was average really. I could get a much better tasting vadapav with two chutneys! for half the price at any Indian food trucks in western suburbs. Pavbhaji was below average. Too oily, very less salt and just spicy. I had to finish the remaining half as my friend couldn't just finish it. Cant believe I paid 13.5$ for that. However, the ambience and service overall was the only thing I liked about this place. But definitely not worth visiting again.
