One of my favorite Indian restaurants in the eastern suburbs. The briyani chicken 65 is busting with flavor and the rice is so fluffy. The plain dosa is well cooked, not too soft or too crispy, just right. It’s so simple yet it’s my favorite dish here. It’s so delicious and they are very generous with their portion. Sometimes the food takes a while but it’s always worth the wait and we always leave so satisfied. Highly recommend for authentic Indian food!

We had a really good experience at Dosa Hut overall. We were welcomed very warmly by the owner and that itself gave us a positive impression. The food was flavorful and the portion sizes were worth for the price paid. Would have been nice if the food was given a bit faster, but that could probably be due to staff shortage. However, we left Dosa Hut with happy tummies. Would recommend this restaurant for flavorful Indian food.

We've been regular customers here since they opened, best Dosa Hut and Indian in the area. Indo-Chinese is especially good. Always have great service, greeting with a smile no matter how busy. As with most businesses, they were hit hard by covid and staffing shortages, so it's nice to see them starting to bounce back now, although it's a pity that some customers we see don't seem to appreciate what businesses have gone through the last 2 years. We recently used them to cater a wedding event for 150+ people, which was flawlessly executed. The owner himself came to personally manage his staff and the venue staff to ensure everything went smoothly with the food. Got lots of compliments, and couldn't be happier.

We had a family dinner today from the restaurant. Food was absolutely stunning compared to the other dosa huts in Melbourne.We love footscary one too..Ordering process was comfortable on phone considering the after covid situations. We really loved your concept of keeping earth friendly plates and stuffs. I have seen some of the comments related to this as it doesn’t feel dining in a good restaurant due to the plates but I truly appreciate this motive. Probably you can opt both options going forward to satisfy other diners who willing to have proper dining plates. One small suggestion on the toilet, you can make it little more clean. Other than that, staff was great and specially you made everything on time and great service.

Enjoyed a good meal with interstate guests who enjoyed Indian food here . The lamb korma and eggplant masalla were particularly delicious with garlic nan. They toned down the spice factor as per our request which was great. Will go back for sure.

Hidden behind the Quality Inn on Mountain Hwy, a surprisingly spacious place to eat. It's always nice to have fresh. dhosa, whatever the type you like masala, paper etc worth checking this place out if you're in the area. Service was quick and friendly. Food and price were good.

Dosahut Wantrina is the best. I had my wedding here and was satisfied with each and every aspect. The hospitality here is very warm. Venue: The best and decent place you can get for the value of your money. Very spacious and is mostly decorated for you. Very minimal decoration makes it look so grand. Food: Very delicious and the menu was set to meet the expectations of each and every guest. Apart from my wedding i went to the restaurant many times the vibe is very good and food is very tasty. Most positive thing about this place is if there is anything wrong you can talk to the management and they react very fast and solve the problem for you. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who want a rich flavourful Indian experience.

Went there last week and the service was absolutely pathetic and the food wasn't even cooked (the chicken 65 biriyani). I dont understand something, why would you accommodate more than the amount of people you can serve. Honestly, i dont think its the servers fault, because they were understaffed. The owner should have taken a step to make people wait if they wanted to be served right and given good food, which is what most of us would expect. I gave it a three star because i have been here before and we have had decent food. That being said, i will probably never visit this branch again.

Mid-range Indian restaurants have a certain feeling about them; poor customer service, no ambiance whatsoever, glasses that don't shine and tables that wobble in all sort of ways. Dosa Hut does not disappoint in all these areas, except that it has some sense of coastal south indian ambiance- just a little though not much oh and also it has a little play corner for kids that is surely helpful to those dining with kids. Food wise, we ordered 3 items, a chaat, a dosa and Chicken 65 Biryani. The chaat was just as you would expect at a south indian place- edible but far from the real north indian flavour, I guess the fault lies with us for ordering chaat at a South Indian restaurant in the first place but oh well.. The dosa was alright but the absence of staple coconut chutney surprised and disappointed me. And the Biryani, which you can probably guess by the title of this review was very nice. Not a lot of chicken but a whole lot of flavour, very spicy and well presented. The place is well suited to cater to large groups and has a decent bar. So if you have a big crowd that loves Biryani with Beer and laughs, you may want to consider going there.

Visited Dosa hut restaurant to dine which is adjoining the Quality Inn suites. Liked the ambience of the place and setup. Seating is spacious and the staff was pleasing. We ordered the favourite and had to wait for the food to be served. The taste wasn't up to our expectations. Dosa Hut still has a long way to achieve consistency in it's so called signature dish - the Biryani. No matter how many times you taste it always is different each time and it is not a good thing. Hopefully they get better in time.

Reached out for a quick dinner with kids on a Tuesday. We found the place easily accessible with enough parking around. The restaurant was quiet big and kid friendly. ordered family size dosai and Indo Chinese paneer Manchurian. the food service was fairly quick. Staff was friendly and happy to help with menu and decision making. We just found the quantity of sambhar for dosa that big to be really small. The place really needs it's heating updated as those portable heaters weren't really helping much. I would recommend this place for its extensive menu and an excellent Indian cuisine experience.

Went there for the third time today. First two times food and service have been pretty good. This time though, was different. We had a party of 6 prebooked and we were asked to sit at the required booths. Firstly, one of the tables was extremely wonky. We were initially shy in getting this replaced but eventually asked for the faulty table to be moved away. The table should not have been in the dining room in the first place. Next, 4 of our 6 orders were brought out reasonably together. It seems they forgot about the other two dosas (paneer butter dosa and butter chicken dosa). When queried they seemed to make an excuse about certain dosas taking longer than others to make and that the tawas could only do a certain number of dosas (what?). Surely you would make the dosas that take the longest first? I literally saw the chef scramble to make the remaining orders after being informed about the two missing meals. Our last order was fulfilled as the first person in our party finished their food.Then when one of our party asked for more sambar it took another 5 mins of waiting before we got it. Food was great but making up excuses for mistakes and lack of service is not appreciated.

Lovely place with good indo-chinese and dosa options.. The chicken 65 was the best dish on the menu; except for the amount of red colour added to the food. Among the dosas the egg chicken dosa and the ghee dosa were good. The Mysore masala dosa was pretty average. Although the service is good and friendly, they could use more wait staff during peak hours.. The owner/manager is a real gent and makes everyone feel confortable.

Best Indian restaurant in Eastern Suburb. Chef Viru’s creations are always one level up than ordinary. I have tried Veg Kolhapuri, Panner Tikka Masala , Paneer Pasanda all of them had a special touch. Tasty, authentic South Indian delicacies. Your dosa cravings will be more than just met! They also offer a large menu comprising of varied Indian dishes. The restaurant has a hall and a bar, which maybe useful for functions. There is also a small kids play area with some toys. Whilst reasonably safe, you do need to check it is so; we had an unfortunate incident that occured as a result of a staff member inadvertently leaving a viniger based cleaning spray amongst the toys. The Manager was apologetic, probably a once off thing but doesn't hurt to be cautious. Our favourite dosa joint for now!

Food is good but waiting is like an hour, we ordered for tea in a quite time but still cudnt get it and ended leaving without having it and yet it wasnt busy neither any party was going on..

If you want a good Indian good experience, then one of the first few restaraunts I would reccomend is the dosa hut. It has a large range of dosas that comes with two kinds of chutneys and sambar. There are also idlis, indo Chinese, and other snacks you can choose from. From the drink section you can either try tea (I recommend this because they make the Indian tea with cardamon and ginger) or mango lassi. They also a small dessert selection. My favourite is the gulab jamun but that's your call! 😊
