Tried this place and my experience was not that great. The food quality is not good & taste is below average. Not sure why this place is famous when there are many restaurants that serve great Indian food with quality, quantity & price.

Always first choice. One of the best biryanis in Melbourne. Food is tasty. Variety of Indian food. Function hall available (We've attended a birthday celebration as well) and it can accommodate around 40-50 guests including kids. Roadside car park. Located in CBD.

Had a great time eating my takeaway. Had the special dosa and the biryani. I thought that the spices in the biryani rice was too overpowering for my liking. The meat was very tender and delicious tho! And because my dosa came with all the different sauces we had a fun time mixing and matching diff combo. The dosa was wonderful - just a bit too salty and a lot salty in concentrated areas. But like I mentioned having it with the different sauce made it a really fun experience. The crispy parts of the dosa adds a twist to the texture but as with all takeaway and delivery means that there were a lot more soggy parts than crispy parts! Staff was also nice and was singing to tunes while working. Such lovely vibe. Chamak chalo oh oh oh !!

Today I visited Dosa hut for the first time. Ordered for some parathas and chole. I could feel the authentic taste. I guess the person who took care of my table was Neetu. The service was delivered on time without much delay and the staff members were very friendly in nature. Had a great experience dining at this place. It’s a must visit to taste Indian food.

Excellent dosa. Do try chefs special dosa. They dont have wash in the ground floor and first floor. They give plastic cutlery which is not so advisable. You can book the second floor for functions. Highly recommended food 👌

It’s been a month since I landed in Australia and this place is by far the best place to taste Indian food. The food was so amazing that it reminded me of my home country. I loved the chicken Biriyani and Gulab jamun. The customer service was very friendly. The order was prompt in delivery. Neetu was really patient all along since I made many small orders within a short period. On the whole the customer service and the food was amazing. I will visit this place for sure again.

We had organised Dosa Hut CBD to provide food for our son's 4 year old birthday party. In a nutshell, the food was absolutely fabulous! We had ordered 3-course meal, with Indian and Indo-Chinese starters, Biryanis for mains and a couple of Indian desserts, and everybody simply loved the food! Came here for a quick meal, the taste was not bad, and food came out quickly, they had donuts and samosas ready at the hot food display, I couldn't see the pricing for the entrees The prawn fried rice had carrots, green beans, and eggs included in the basmati rice. The taste was pretty good.

Decent Dosa joint in the CBD but the main dish fell short of anything spectacular. We had the huge 70mm Dosa with allthethings inside. The potato filling was probably the tastiest. Other fillings of paneer, chicken mince and lamb mince were dry and tasteless. Of the condiments, the sambhar was about the only thing passable because the coconut chutney tasted rancid and the rasam was quite oversweetened. It's a pity because the condiments could have saved the dosa. Luckily we ordered a Chicken 65 Biryani as well, and we were pleasantly surprised, as it was actually delicious. Not a biryani by any standards, and served strangely in a plastic take away container, pretty much a chicken curry covered in rice, but tasty nevertheless. I'd probably return to try other dishes but I think I'll stay away from dosa at this hut.

Great place for good Indian food,they do their dosas well and the flavour is on point all the time. Also, servings are huge and most of the time you can share a dish between 2 medium stomachs. Instructions on how to eat: pour the rice out onto the big plate till you find the meat, and then enjoy with the sauces! Check my pictures out for an example. Had the chicken 65, beef dosa, vegan briyani and goat briyani. Would recommend the chicken, can't go wrong with that, the goat was done well but not as great as the chicken, not sure what was in the vegan one cause a friend had it. Think the only thing lacking is service quality, there's one main guy who's really on point and knows what's going on, but he's usually at the cashier, leaving you flailing around for the waiters who may or may not spot you. Our waiter was really patient with us though, the menu is extensive and it's hard to figure out what to eat. Loved the place enough for 5 stars!

Food was great so far. Chicken 65 taste freshly made, taste good. A very busy restaurant during lunchtime. Not every items on menu on the board is available. Service was poor. We told waitress that we have 6 people, and we got asked 3 times from different waitress/ waiter if we need 2 tables. Depends where is your tables, seats size are vary. Lots of parking nearby. Loved the place and the food. It's rare thing to get all food items well-cooked and tasty at a great decor and cosy place with a good table service! Loved babycorn manchurian and roti. Chicken 65 noodles was perfect and chicken biryani good, too. Gulab jamun was so soft and delicious. Cosy place to be. Definitely will be back. Was there for a lunch today. The service was a bit slow. Unfortunately, they stopped babycorn items but the flavoursome Gobi manchurian gravy we ordered, instead, was too good. One of the staff members suggested to try tawa roti with the Indo Chinese and it turned out delicious combination. The item on the menu that totally mesmerized us was the Dosa Hut Special keema rice. That was irresistibly yummy, aromatic and flavorful. A must must try (its bit oily though but I am sure they could do it with less oil if requested). The serve of Gulab jamun is value for money item and its perfectly soft.

If you are missing indian food and want to have anything with a little bit of Indian spice - that's the place to go. You will seat in a comfortable ambience, surrounded by Indian people, and placing an order with a real Indian gentleman at the counter. However the food is not nearly as good as in India. First time trying Dosa dishes. I think I quite like it. The texture was almost like a French creperie, had a hint of sweetness to it. Food is exceptionally delicious and so is the portion. We have always ordered via UberEats and that's almost every alternate weekend. The only-major drawback I feel is, that the prices vary for the same dish, be it Pick-up or UberEats or Menu log. Especially UberEats, absolute rip-off.

Hi Food Lovers, Well, I'm one of them. The food i ordered today at this place was a randomly selected out from the Menu. Visited this place late afternoon on a weekday. The paranthas were piping hot and simply amazing. Dosa was provided with chutney and sambhar and we're absolutely delicious. Butter cubes with parantha was icing on the cake. Place was sparkling clean and the service was fab. Even got some hot and luvly chai. Definitely a must visit.

Had a fantastic experience here. Ordered the 70mm chef's special dosa. Was really well portioned and a good price - ended up eating it over 2 nights and very happy with the quality, pricing and service I received. Will definitely come here again and make this a more common takeout spot! Staff are always friendly and courteous as well.

Masala dosa was really tasty and delicious however the chutneys and daal were served in the tiniest of portions and weren’t enough to eat with the whole Dosa. Vada was dry and cold and idli was quite dense but nice. Service was average, not very welcoming or friendly. Will be back to try their other offerings.

We had our sons first birthday party at Dosa Hut King St and it was great and I want to thank Ritesh and his staff for making the party awesome with their wonderful service and the delicious food. All the guests that came to our party loved the food and were raving how good it was. Pani puri was great and so was the papdi chat, Chicken drumsticks and Paneer 65 were very popular and tasted so good. Goat curry and the chicken 65 biryani were amazing and Rasmalai for desert was perfect. All the dishes were great and the service was amazing as well as I didnt had to run around a lot and everything was in order. Once again thanks Ritesh, Dosahut King and the staff for making my sons first birthday so memorable.

All the biryanis that they have are top notch in quality and taste compared to some of the other restaurants in the area. The customer service is exceptional. Sometimes, the wait may be a bit long, but the staff there go above and beyond to make sure you are satisfied. They once messed up my order. Upon pointing out, they corrected my order and left me with two dishes even though I politely refused. They are doing everything right and I am sure they will do well. Keep up the good work!

The food was delicious and incredibly flavourful. If you aren't into spicy food then it isn't the best place for you. The staff were friendly and the service was efficient. Affordably priced Indian cuisine which tastes good as well. The only issue I found was the cups of water which were made of polystyrene and clearly not environmentally sustainable. Being an Indian, whenever I go to an Indian restaurant, most of them I saw do not like their own country mates. They start throwing fake smiles and services. I have seen/noticed a clear difference when they serve other races. But, this restaurant was exceptionally outstanding. The staff was sooooooo gentle and amazing. I couldn't trust. I acted a bit weird ordering in a funny way thinking they would start making faces soon but no, they were so nice and good. Hats off to the staff. The food was as good as the service. The behaviour of few staff is rude and just do not have basic manners towards customers. Visited today for lunch(Friday), It's quite understandable that certain times can be flooded, with too many people around, but it's not that difficult to show basic manners and general courtesy to customers. Felt this kind of behaviour from few staff..the food was good.

I love their chicken 65 biryani. I have tried it couple of times and the taste never disappoints. Their paneer tikka, noodles and gobhi 65 biryani were also good. Tried their dosa but the masala was bland without salt and sambhar was watery.

Cheap place with decent food but service is a hit and miss. Some staff were very pleasant and respectful whereas one staff member just couldn't give a damn. A few issues we had: asked for takeaway boxes for 3 dishes but only got 2, the bill charged an item twice incorrectly, and the same problematic waiter wouldn't even acknowledge serving a dish to our table - just placed it there and left without saying a word. Anyway, other staff was good, food is fairly cheap and okay tasting (or really bad - people in the group had differing opinions). The paan is a nice dessert. Would try again out of curiosity but not take any guests.

Lady sitting next to me literally complained on the quantity of food given to her. She was not taken care of at all, instead laughed upon once she left.

We visited Dosa hut on 30th May at 6 pm about as my friend recomended us. We ordered Idly, plain dosa, chicken biryani and pan. I tried biryani before few places was not satisfied. Few questions I asked about with the waitresses . As she recomended to try chicke biryani at this place with very confident so I ordered for me. Now glad to say service and all of the food was excellent!!!! The Waitresses (do not know her name) who served us is the best waitresses in Melbourne compared with other Indian restaurants. Staff at the counter excellent too. This waitress is an asset for your business do not lose her. We will recomended to our other friend and will visit again for sure. Keep it up guys 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

I am writing this review after having waited 30 minutes and still yet to receive my order. Took me 10 minutes to get the attention of a waiter. In the meantime, some kids from upstairs poured water down onto my head. I proceeded to complain to a waiter about this and all he said was sorry it happened - very irresponsible. Hope the food will taste good since they take over half an hour to prepare, but based on my experience so far 1/5. The styrofoam cups were also disgusting when they were presented to us, with hair and dust inside. In fact, this is the first restaurant I’ve seen who actually use styrofoam cups at all. But from my previous 2 visit to this place have given me some bad feeling that's the reason i have reduce 2* Reason 1: The person who is sitting in the counter, he is behaving too arrogantly as if we are begging him for food. Once we order chicken 65 family biriyani. They bought chicken dum family biriyani. When we enquire about this to the same person, he was like that we magically changed 65 biriyani to dum biriyani and he was keep on arguing. Readon 2: They always forget to get some food, and keep us waiting for long.. if it happened once, it was ok. But i happened 3 times, when i went there.

Have had at the dosa hut couple of times. Have found the place to be always busy. You can find decent food with decent portion sizes at good prices. Customer service (in busy times) has a scope of improvement. Won't mind going in for a quick lunch again.

One of the best south indian restaurants we can visit in Melbourne. The food is good in which the Dosa varieties are excellent. The wonderful south indian spicy dishes are available in this particular restaurant. Amidst this one of the most important demerit is the wait time we had during our visits .. it almost took more than half hour to get our ordered food. Amazing indian food around the city and well worth what you pay for. My favorite is the lunch meal with three dishes, rice and unlimited roti, I think its around 12 to 13 bucks. The dishes are really good and spicy. Seating is adequate but can be quite full during lunch so we usually have late lunch. It has 3 floors anyway so usually should be able to accomodate. Top floor has a big hall good for team lunch.

The Name is deceiving; it should've been named Dosa Palace and it's awesome. I went inside this restaurant thinking that it might be a street restaurant, but I was amazed to look at the ambiance inside and variety of offerings that they provide. I ordered their Goat Dum Biryani and Chicken curry which were really good.I tried their Chaat items which were really really delicous and the way they were prepared/presented was ultimate. Someone had the patience to decorate the chaat with nice chaat chutney and made it more appealing. Kudos to him. I would recommend people who love Indian cuisine to give this a try.

It's very hard to find the actual taste of Indian recipes in here. I wouldn't say the food items tasted good but it's much better where there aren't any more options for Indian foods. I had mysore masala and chicken biryani, mysore masala was more like normal dosa; biryani was good on the other hand. Prices are a bit heavy (at least for my budget) but overall food and environment is good.
