Comments of Green Man's Arms
T. A.
This is a good little pub with friendly staff and great menu. Tap/beer selection could be better, which is why I've gone four stars rather than five, as it was quite minimal when we went. But, still worth going. Also, there are lots of vegan and vegetarian options so highly recommend that! Had the vegan charcuterie platter which was delicious. Wish it had more vegan chorizo though! Would definitely go back.
J. I.
I was blown away by how great the food is here. I'd highly recommend the pommes frites and definitely the eggplant schnitzel, but it all seems great. Really friendly service and everything was very covid safe. Lovely atmosphere, and a good selection of beers as well. I'll be back here I reckon!
J. D.
Beautiful place for a vegan option. Great customer service very friendly. Fried Cauliflower pretty good. Also the eggplant schnitzel is a really good tasting main dish

Easy to book and managed to score airy seating on a hot evening.
An abundance of quirky beers to try in this modern pub.
Outstanding vegetarian food that’ll astonish even the most carnivorous beings - thoroughly enjoyed by all and will be back again.

Great place to catch up with friends and enjoy a meal. I had the bean burger which was great, love the super crunchy potato's . Wash it all down with a fine pale ale. Recommended
A. G.
I had a great experience here, with a great selection of drinks, friendly staff and quick service. The miso ramen I had for dinner was very nice. Absolutely worth a visit.

Been a non vegan, had doubts of trying this place at first. But glad we did cause it was a fantastic experience. The atmosphere was lovely and the food was delicious. Great food portions and lovely presentation. Loved the creativity of the dishes in blending the tastes and looks. They have a variety of drinks to choose from as well. A must try experience for everyone.
S. K.
The food and service was incredible! The staff are a delight and I can't wait to return. Thank you 😊

nice and cosy place, good attention and delicious cocktails and beer.

Great place to have a bite and share a few drinks! Good was great, everything we tried was great and good selection of drinks too and lovely ambience too. Cannot believe it took me so long to visit this place. Staff are friendly and helpful too, definitely recommend. For vegetarians, it is a paradise! Thank you.

Nice little pub on a busy street.
Good happy hour offers and cold beers (Stone&wood lager).
Food loks delicious, especially the burgers and there are vegetarian option available too.
Scan and order available to make your ordering easy.
Got ester for the dog without even asking for it first thing.
Very good customer service and friendly staff.

Amazing! From check-in with the staff to the presentation and flavours of the food. Everything was 10+ stars!

Summary: 4.2. Very good restaurant. Superior veggie menu. Good drink options. Nice space. Great service. Good pricing.
Review: Friends took us here. We were glad they did. It’s a good operation. Great vegetarian food which is composed and presented with confident but understated class and style. The feed me menu is good. Quantity and quality is just right. Great selection of dips, salads and roasted vegetables. All dishes good. Lovely hummus. Good pita. Terrific crusty bread. Very nicely cooked roasted carrots and pumpkin. Thoughtfully served and good robust flavours. Nice dessert as well. The eating area is small but well laid out. Notably, they really know how to serve a table of four. There’s plenty of food and it’s cleverly and classily served so there’s plenty for everyone. You’re neither rushed nor waiting too long for the next dish. The rose we chose went well with the food. Very impressive service throughout. Calm, pleasant and professional. Top class. Cost was very reasonable for the quality and quantity. This is a well run and enjoyable restaurant. Recommended.

We've enjoyed this restaurant in the past, but today was underwhelming; Although the cauliflower was very good, the rest was average at best, which is disappointing with such a limited menu.
Staff and service were perfect, but the food left us wanting for more.
Also, with the sun dipping low, a lot of people had to wear sunnies or shield their eyes when eating. Which seems like it could be easily remedied.
J. B.
Really nice quiet little place. The drinks were awesome and the staff were very friendly. Nice and warm and had a lovely little fireplace.
D. T.
Everything here yum! Vegetarian vegan pub where the food is so fresh, full of flavor and substantial that you know not it has no meat! We had the tacos, perogis and chick pea flour pancake. Service was top notch. Lovely pub ambiance.
N. P.
Amazing atmosphere in this restaurant. I loved the wine and charcuterie board was amazing! Such sensual and tasty food! Will definitely be going there a lot!
A. W.
Absolutely fantastic! Great atmosphere and delicious vegetarian meals. We had the $38 Feed Me 5-course dinner. Highly recommended!
J. N.
One of the waiter (had his hair tied up) has a bit of an attitude throughout the night. We arrived early and just politely asked if we can sit in early. Before even attempted to bring up our booking, we were rudely met with: "Where is your booking? if it's in the dining room then no"
Which is fine, we went got a drink down the road. Came back, seated. When we were placing the order, half way through: "Oh I gotta get a pen and notepad"....
Also, we also saw 2 waiters doing shots behind the bar at some point during the shift - I didn't think that was a good look to be honest
But credit where it's due: Food was yum, ambience was great.

What a wonderful place for vegan meals, I will say only great things about there range of sauces, craft beers, and overall meals, just a wonderful way to enjoy a nice family meal

My boyfriend and i had a really good experience there! Vegan schnitzel just WOW! Service was quick, friendly staff. We'll come back for that board that looked delicious in the table next to us! Recommended! Didn't ask but hope wines were vegan as well!
S. O.
Took my lovely missus to this place for our wedding anniversary. Completely vegetarian pub (with plenty of vegan options), so this was the first time my wife actually had an entire menu to choose from.
Ordered the Eggplant Schnitzel and absolutely enjoyed it. I have never had coleslaw that tasted this good ever in my 40 years of existence. I'd go there again just for the coleslaw. Had a great evening. The place was packed and the vibe was terrific.
B. G.
Had a great time at green man's arms the other night! i went with my family and the food was delicious and the whole place has a very relaxed and warm feel to it. They have such a good menu with a lot of variety too. My favourites were the pierogi and the beetroot (pictured)! would definitely recommend especially for vegetarians and vegans :)
A. J.
Had a late Saturday lunch here for 2. We enjoyed a varied but iconic selection of background music in a slightly eclectic 70’s themed pub, but not a pub, while the friendly, efficient and unobtrusive staff served up a good selection of wine and cocktails with a limited but very interesting menu consisting of small meals, mains and divine desserts.
The chef here is a master at creating delicious dishes that you would not expect at at a pub. The food was beautifully presented and although I couldn’t squeeze another morsel in, it left me wanting to eat more, or at least ensure that I come back soon. Very soon.
Menu items are marked VG for vegan and VGO for vegan options. A great place to bring friends and fam no matter their diet preferences. Just remember to leave a bit of space for dessert.
T. H.
Nice choice of wines - we liked the GSM. All vego as well so the menu is a feast if that’s your inclination.
The decor is really charming. Beautifully lit and decorated with lots of indoor plants. A really nice space.
They’ve got DJs on Friday nights as well!
C. W.
Sunday vegan roast is a triumph.
Cocktails are extremely good here too.
S. H.
Rotating taps and amazing food! Delightfully tacky fit out and friendly staff. Would recommend.
M. S.
Amazing food! We had the pasta and wine deal which was delicious. The place was packed and the only spot available to sit was at the bar, but I’m glad we stayed to try the food!
K. S.
Busy place with some great food. They also have Kombucha on tap. If visiting on a Tuesday do book as it's Trivia night so fills up from 7/7.30pm. A few people were turned away as there were no tables in bar or dinning room.
L. L.
The feed me option was nice, but I fealt it wasn't the best value. I feel we could have had the same amount of food, only cheaper if we ordered individually.
R.
Very pleasantly surprised with this pub. From the outside it looked dull and uninviting but inside was different; good selection of beer, clean and welcoming staff👍.
R.
I had my birthday here on 13 June. Given that we'd just come out of lockdown, the restrictions were still quite strict in terms of numbers etc. The venue staff (special mention to Xavier) did everything they could reasonably be asked to do to make us comfortable - and we had a fantastic time. We had the feed me menu which is a banquet style offering. Everything was great, very tasty and really well priced. Will definitely be back.
H. C.
This is the type of vegetarian food that makes you think you can live without eating meat. Packed with flavour. Great serving sizes.
G. M.
Had a delicious meal here yesterday evening. Really impressed with the wide range of vegan options. Will be back soon!
C. T.
Nice environment, lots of vegetarian options. I had the eggplant schnitzel and it was yum! Service was great, staff are friendly and helpful.
P.
It was okay no real star quality about any of the 4 entree dishes we ordered. The charcuterie board was probably one of the worst I’ve had, all items were bland and the sauerkraut tasted funky. The dishes were generally very expensive for what they were. Tip - ditch the live DJ and focus more on quality and quantity of the food.
S. L.
What a interesting place! Vegan pub right near Melbourne Uni, great way to target the trendy market. Arrived here to try out some vegan pub/comfort food. Atmosphere was nice, trendy pub feels. The food was good but the stand out was the charcuterie board which had a pumpkin seed feta that tasted like real pate! Also tried the bolognese and eggplant Parma which was tasty but nothing special. The side salad was definately a stand out on the main dishes.
R. M.
Really impressive food, I had take away during the Covid lockdown and I was really happy with everything ordered. Laksa was spicy and tasty, burger was really good and the cauliflower was amazing and by far my favourite dish.
Highly recommend giving this place a go even if you’re normally a meat eater as the food is so yum
N. P.
Randomly tried this pub for the first time and it was really good. Good selection of drinks and the menu was all vegetarian/Vegan but it has some really creative and tasty options, would def go back!
B. N.
Seemed pretty fancy. Was an interesting experience as I don't usually eat vegan food. Some of the dishes included were South American Root which tasted kind of like nothing, and smoked watermelon which was pretty nice to be fair but looked a lot like salmon. The staff were pretty friendly, the water was real water, and the toilets were very green in colour. Also they had some nice timber walls as seen in the pic attached.
M. S.
Delicious food but portion size maybe a little on the small side. The couscous on their menu lacks the variety of vegetables you would probably expect from the only vegan mains option. The shakshuka was delicious and well presented. Definitely a nice place to come for dinner, cozy and inviting. Bartender was helpful, knowledgable with great customer service.
s. m.
Great vegan eats! Nice atmosphere and not too noisy.
A. R.
Everything was really tasty from the menu. Decent beers on tap. Menu is quite fancy, probably needs better descriptions, we had to Google some of the items! But a really pleasant pun with excellent food. Even if you are not vegan (I certainly am not), give it a go, the food is immense!
L. S.
Fantastic vegan fare and fabulous Cider on tap! Love this place!
M.
Amazing vegan and vegetarian food with great service. We ordered about eight dishes between four of us and every dish was a winner. It was hard to choose a favourite because they were all so good. I am not strictly vegetarian but I would be with food like this
Y. W.
I tried their watermelon tuna salad and it was just okay. Their vermicelli salad was a bit dry somehow and it was a bit hard to swallow. My vegan friend didn't really enjoy it much. Probably should have tried their other dishes
I. L.
Green Man's Arms has become our local haunt after we relocated to Carlton earlier this year. It's a well-patronised vegetarian pub, offering vegetarian editions of classic pub fare. For example, the menu boasts an eggplant schnitzel, a beetroot and black bean burger, and a signature charcuterie board on which prosciutto and ham are replaced by a mysteriously-delicious chorizo and slices of purple radish. The staff are unfailingly friendly and attentive, and always have terrific recommendations for drinks to warm up a cold winter's evening.
J. M.
Been twice so far; first time had their Sunday Roast and it was to die for! A couple of weeks later had a birthday get together with drinks/snacks and everyone loved it. You'll want thirds of the cauliflower 👌
L. M.
The food is full of flavour and an their are quite a few dishes to chose from. I don't usually go vegetarian but this is one I would recommend you try. There is also an extensive range of beers on tap.
P. T.
Pretty cool place with a good vegetarian menu. The beers was good and they have a great selection of cocktails.
C. K.
Love the food offering. Eggplant schnitzel definitely the best.
K. C. S.
Ordered the burger, was delicious with the serving of fried potatoes with skin on! All other dishes on menu sounded n looked amazing too (from friend's orders) will defo be back for more. Fully Vegetarian!!!✌🏽
B. W.
Really great food ! We got the opportunity to sit down in between the 1st lock down in Melbourne and we got the feed us menu. It was fantastic. Each dish is a great size to share. This place isn't like the other plant based restaurant that includes toasted almonds as a dish & leaves you disappointed. You leave here full. The "scallops" were amazing and the other dishes were full of flavour. The chef here has come up with inventive plant based dishes. Hope they can come back bigger and better once the lock downs finish. And if you live local try and support places like this by still getting take away during lock down.
S.
What a great little spot. Nice atmosphere. Quite a few beers on tap. The food was actually really good. We went with the vegetarian feed me option (they also have vegan) which was 38 a head which had 5 dishes, none of which disappointed.
This is only nitpicking but, got there at 5:55 for a 6 booking in their dining area and was told it didn't open until 6, which, also happened to a lot of others so the front bar got a little crammed. Would've been just as easy to start seating people I would have thought and just serving drinks.
Overall, definite recommend.
H. A.
Awesome spot for an after work drinks, catch ups or even a casual date. Nice and cosy design and setup inside. There's happy hour drinks with half price on certain bevies which is can be an incentive. Also suitable for groups.
R. M.
Great atmosphere with nice vegeterian menu and little interesting wine list
K. G.
An amazing pub with the tastiest food! It is a wonderful initiative to have a veggie pub with lots of great beers and wine available.
A. K.
Place opens at 4pm, restaurant at 6pm, they have a fireplace and vinyl night Th, Fr and Sa. My cauliflower steak was brilliant, partners spud dumplings are now (1 hour later) giving her some aches.
N. C.
One of the best, if not the best, plant-based restaurant in town. Gourmet food at pub prices - great service too. A must.
J. C.
Excellent food - for a completely vegetarian pub the menu was robust and had a really food variety of choices. Aside from that, the beers were excellent, and the environment was lovely in spite of the number of people there.
Had a great time, would definitely recommend to anyone interested!
R. C.
Good location, nice staff and good seating areas.
The prices and the overall layout let's it down.
The beer and wine selection is good, albeit a little bit fixed on one or two locations. Wouldn't mind some more international bevvys on the taps.
The layout as mentioned makes the place feel cramped. I'm not sure what can be done to mitigate this, but the entrance is always packed because there are too many seats there, making it a bit of a cramp when you get in.
Still, I would recommend this place, maybe just for food, not for drink. Unless you have just won the Tatts Superlotto.
A. H.
The food is absolutely delicious and I am no vegan. I love steak, I love chorizo, and as it turns out I also love bean curd ramen and fried cauliflower. Great food, great atmosphere, great service, wouldn't change a thing.
N. R.
I'd give 3.5 stars if halves were possible. Food was OK, service was great, great selection of vegan alcohol.
As a vegan, I am usually overwhelmed by a menu with so many vegan options. But
I was underwhelemed by the Summer 2019 menu, struggled to find anything that really grabbed me, especially at the prices. Nearly chose the eggplant schnitzel but thankfully noticed the $38pp "Let the chef feed me" option, which my vegan friend and I chose. Highly recommend this option. Good amount of food and seemed way better value than the individual prices. I love sweet potato, but there's nothing anyone could do to sweet potato to make a bowl of it worth $22!! And they simply baked it and added a horseradish cream, a few rocket leaves and crumbled sunflower seeds. The bowl of "new season tomatoes" with a few basil leaves & olives was $20 off the menu. Legumes & pulses only in a couple of dishes, no mushrooms in sight.
I wouldn't rush back but I'd eat here if in the area. I'd certainly drink here.
a. l.
Nice to see vegan offerings from a pub other than the usual fried mock meat fare. Food was satisfactory, wouldn't say it was awesome though. It was our first visit so we ordered a few things and shared. Eggplant schnitz was thick & crispy - good if you love love love eggplant but would be a struggle to finish on your own if you don't. Pasta was al dente with a robust sauce, not too runny. Chickpea salad was ok, you pretty much get just that, so not recommended as a stand alone dish though it did have lots of texture with both boiled and fried peas. We also tried some sides which i think are a little overpriced. The pomme frittes were a standout, cauliflower and falafel also good but at 8 bux each for 2 florets of cauliflower and 3 small falafel, found these not great value. For this reason, and that they are a little heavy handed on the salt for my liking only giving 3 stars (should be 3.5). But will go back when the seasonal menu changes - the staff are friendly enough and the bloody marys good enough to give the menu another spin.
R. C.
had the Sunday roast.... SOOOO good!! service was friendly and attentive, will go back!!
C. N.
There is a wide range of excellent beers. I enjoyed the dark ale and the stout. It was a perfect combination with the Roasted Beets. The place is a perfect combination of vegetarian fine dining, vegetarian bar food, and a traditional Australian pub. I highly recommend it.
D. H.
Wow this place is amazing, Ali has been able to renovate the pub but somehow keep the integrity of times gone by. I can honestly say that I felt as though I had been here before, a long time before, as strange as that might sound. It felt like home, the warmth, the atmosphere, the sense of welcoming, it’s hard to explain. The food is delicious, the staff are overwhelmingly friendly and the brews are amazing. You should be very proud of yourselves.
S. M.
It's alright. 5 stars for decor, but the food is lacking for the price. When we first went here when they'd just opened the dishes we had were spot on. However, returned a few weeks ago and it's become a bit lazy. The falafel platter was average at best, just a free dips and a tiny side of pickle. The salads were their saving grace. Bar had good wine selections too, and the staff were lovely. With a rework of the menu to be more diverse and interesting would definitely return.
E. M.
The food is excellent. Exciting and different vegetarian - the kind us veggies don't often get to experience; where you look at a menu and you both want everything AND you could have it all. However, in the dining room on a recent Friday night the noise levels were very close to impossible. Low ceiling + close tables + hard surfaces = painful and very difficult for anyone with even a tiny bit of hearing loss - and that's pretty universal if you're over 25. Approach with caution - and try the front bar, which is slightly more manageable.
H. D.
So very glad we booked a week ago for tonight's dinner just as the second lockdown was announced. Loved the food & ambience with informed and sincere hospitality. Hope to return with friends & family one day. Stay safe all....and support our great local businesses 🍻🍴
R. S.
Good place, booking recommended for popular times but we were able to get a dining room table for two in the early Friday evening rush that's to friendly and helpful staff. Excellent vegetarian(only) menu and choice of beers if that's your thing. Good location for access by public transport (tram especially). Tourist kick off or destination point for strolling Lygon Street.
O. D.
Regular looking place until you step inside. Great vegetarian menu plus variety in drinks was good as well. The staff was nice and portions were generous. We loved it there.
V. R. &. T.
We have been going to The Green Man's arms for some time now, the food is great, the atmosphere is awesome, and although the staff seem rushed and busy, they are usually friendly and easy to approach. However, we recently had a group booking (for a pre-wedding dinner), which left us less than impressed. We had been told there was a set menu, at $38pp, which sounded awesome, and were relieved that the two people of our party with severe food intolerance's, would be able to order a'la carte. To be fair, on the night half of the guests were 30 minutes late, but once everyone had arrived, there was still about another 20 minutes before food was served. The food tasted fine, but it was scant, a couple of dip with olives and vegan chorizo and bread, a couple of plates of cooked cabbage, and a couple of plates of eggplant schnitzel, there was no dessert course. We we then asked to leave before people had finished eating, as our time slot had run out. We had endless complaints from our guests afterwards at the cost of what they had to pay for how little they got. Many of them went out for food afterwards. Whilst we would recommend The Green Man's Arms for ordering off the menu, and would definitely dine there again; be wary of the set menu, as in our experience they are unable to cater effectively for larger groups. A disappointing experience in a place we have always loved and recommended.
c. g.
Definitely the place to watch regarding food. I have eaten here on 3 occasions and meal consistency (look, flavour portion size) has varied each time. A new chef has started recently, and with some attention to detail this place will shine. A pleasing fit out, but the dinning room is noisy.
S. B.
Great vegetarian restaurant with front bar and back restaurant. Really tasty food though we have had more success in sharing individual dishes rather than the 'feed me' option. For someone who doesn't drink alcohol I also leave that Kombucha is on tap 😄.
E. S.
Excellent beer, brilliant service - really helpful staff. Delicious food! Some dishes sold out, and not as spicy as hoped (undetectable in the otherwise scrumptious mac and cheese) - but we asked for extra hot sauce which was fabulous!
p. k.
Haven't been here since Percy owned the place.... let's just say it's changed!! Went with the" feed me" option .... Soooo tasty !!
M. W.
A vegetarian pub - who would have thought! The food was delicious, couldn't fault a thing. There was a relatively small but good selection of beer on tap, and even more by the bottle. Having a hand pump ESB was a great find. The venue is really inviting and you feel ever so comfortable sitting around talking about everything and anything for hours.
N. S.
So I thought I'd had the best vegetarian in Melbourne but I was extremely wrong. There is almost no way anywhere tops here. The three friends I went with said they've never seen me shovel food into my mouth faster ever before. Extreme amounts of perfectly balanced, beautiful, stunning flavor. Bless this place. 🙏 I have been touched by God. 😍 pardon the empty plates picture, you can't wait.
L. I.
We dropped in here on the fly and had a schnitz and a burger from the bar menu. I never have a burger, I don’t eat meat, but to find a totally vego menu, figured I’d give it a go. Delicious black bean situation with tasty roasted spud and some kind of amazing sauce instead of ketchup. Lots of nice beer, wine and cider and kombucha on tap. We sampled a goodly selection. I can’t wait to go back, it was a great place to waste a couple of hours. Edit: been back, fed family, still great!
J. D.
Recently tried the food and Trivia. I am not a big fan of trivial but it was quite entertaining. Vegetarian pub with really nice food. The atmosphere is nice but it seemed a bit for younger ppl... like uni students. It was OK but was a bit too noisy to me. :p Gosh, I feel old!
L. R.
Food was phenomenal. Excellent service. Good price for the quality of the food. Warm, cosy atmosphere. Not too many tables crowded into the dining room so it felt private. Will be back for sure!!
P. B.
Such a lovely night here with old friends. Fabulous food. Great trivia. Amazing staff. Stylish decor. And the publicans are leading the zeitgeist in developing a conscientious sustainable business - bravely going vegan, reducing waste and sourcing supplies locally. What's not to love?
B. L.
Have dined here twice now, once ordering for ourselves and once selecting the chef's "feed me" option. Both were wonderful experiences and I'm already looking forward to our next visit. The potato dumplings in particular are fantastic.
S.
If all vegetarian food tasted this good, I'd turn veggo in heartbeat ♥
Our lunchtime group ordered the Chickpea Pancake (v) (gf), Eggplant Schnitzel(v) and Mushroom pie plus a jug of English bitter. We settled into the cosy bar at the front rather than the restaurant at the back. Same menu, you just ordered from the bar instead of table service. There was help yourself sparkling water on tap which we loved and happily placed a few gold coins in their charity tin. We appreciated the warm pub atmosphere, the friendly service and most of all, the outstanding food. My pancake was fluffy, delicious and filling, the pie was bursting with mushroom flavours and the eggplant schnitzel was perfectly golden and crispy. We will certainly be back.
B. L.
Great food and a great range of beers on tap. Book ahead if you want to sit down for dinner, but the service when eating in the pub area was still great. You should go even if you're not vegetarian, but if you are you really must!
D.
A MUST EAT in Melbourne! After being in the city more than a month and eating outside a lot, it's one of the best places around. The dishes are creative, satisfying and generous, and the crew is lovely. Every visit was a rich experience. Go there.
M. F.
Great pub with nice vegetarian food
S. L.
Vegetarian everything is amazing. The only place near the theatre I would go to. Food is awesome. Definitely book.
A. E.
Very nice food! The best vegan pub food I have ever had. Will be back soon.
N. N.
Came twice in 3 days. Vegetarian food made well. Love the food options and priced well.
I. M.
Fantastic food and service ~ the cauliflower special with tahini was delicious! The beetroot and cabbage salad and taco-style sandwiches were out of control. Next time we’ll take more people so we can order the entire menu and try it all.
N. J.
Came for dinner with some friends one evening. Really enjoyed the atmosphere here! The food and service was excellent, has an fantastic vegetarian menu. Would highly recommend getting the Mac an cheese, wow was it cheesy and so so good!
D. Z.
It's hard to find an overall good place for a drink near the north end of the University of Melbourne. Green Man's Arms is by far the best option thanks mainly to their wide beer selection, interior decor and cosiness inherited from the pub that used to grace the corner of Johnston and Lygon. Some might take the lack of CUB beer and all-vegetarian menu as a sign of pretentiousness but I believe this is an effort to appeal to a wider variety of people with the aim of creating a more inclusive pub environment. It's good to see the pub definition being pushed in a different direction while still maintaining the bones of a solid drinking establishment! Please can we have some hot chips though?
S. A.
Very decent pub meal!
F. E.
Fantastic vegetarian food. Everything on the menu is vibrant and full of flavour. I highly recommend the Yemeni Lahuh and the Halva Ice Cream in particular.
This is a great place for drinks as well either pre-, during or post-dinner. They have a wonderful selection of cocktails and standard drinks. Booking ahead of time is recommended.
M. S.
Where do I even start?! The whole experience from the food, to the staff and service were absolutely incredible! The staff were so friendly, welcoming and informative. The head chef and creator of the menu even came out to personally give his own recommendations and service! And boy were his recommendations phenomenal! Each dish with its own flare to rock your taste buds' world! From Charred Eggplant, to Flatbread Taco's, to Butternut Squash & Tahini Spread and MORE! The desserts... PHENOMENALLY EXQUISITE making you long for the tastings to never end! Malabi & Chocolate Tart 👌
Definite a high recommend.
LOVE!

Cute and yum, little exy for what they produce. Never had wait staff describe the food they are placing on the table as "stuff" before...
M. A.
Great vegetarian options! The falafels are delicious.
R. A.
What a clever pub. Boisterous, energetic and food that pops. We read the critiques before we dined. Excellent service , tasty, tempting morsels. We are going back to tackle the rest of the menu. Kombucha a little flat my only grizzle.
K. E.
Visited for a friend's birthday drink on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Not realising it was a vegetarian pub, I ordered the cheeseburger and was bitterly dissappointed when I took my first bite and realised it was a bean burger! Upon recovering from that, our group managed to get a seat in front of the wood burner, which was very welcome. However, my next disappointment came when I ordered a Bailey's only to be told they didn't have any. What sort of pub doesn't have Bailey's? Ok, but not great.

I went to Greens Mans Arm with my family. The interior is great, the service was quick and friendly, and the food was delicious. The chef brought us over a few extra dishes without us asking which was a really lovely touch. Would highly recommend this restaurant!!!
J. J.
Great service, very friendly, even brought water for our dog without asking. Has remote table service through app.
Y. L.
I gave Green Man’s Arms a shot after reading about a pub with a fully vegetarian menu. I didn’t really know what to expect, but the food absolutely blew me away.
They’ve since changed the menu, but I’m sure the food will be just as good, if not better. The food is Israeli in nature, but fused with other cuisines (e.g. Flatbread Tacos).
T. J.
Had a few top shelf scotch whiskeys here and the barman was really helpful in choosing them
R. D.
Pretty casual pub. The beer is cold and delicious. Only minor problem is the table as covered with debris that looked like chin whiskers, it was only when we looked at the nearby table that had the same that we realised it can't have been whiskers. Maybe the tables need a more frequent wipe down?
C. G.
I came in to eat with my family, between us we tried the eggplant with green tahini, the pierogi (Polish dumplings) served with a cashew cream, the heritage beetroots with saffron yoghurt, the cauliflower steak as well as the Yemeni Luhuh. Everything was delicious. I came a few months ago when there was a different menu. The new menu is a million times better! Can't wait to come back tomorrow night to try a few more other dishes.
G. E.
Great pub, God selection of drinks and yummy food. You won't miss the meat.
I.
Good vegetarian food and great atmosphere. Definitely will be eating here again. Has a bar area so it is also a good place to go for a drink.
A. C.
Absolutely amazing food with the entire menu being vegetarian. There are plenty of vegan options and a few gluten free options. Has a really great feel and the staff are really nice.
G. G.
Amazing vegetarian food and great wine... I loved it.
P. M.
Love the fully veg menu and loved the 2018 winter menu and good range of craft beers. The summer menu 2019 has been found wanting - and I *want* GMA to up the flavours
R. M.
This little vegetarian pub offers amazing food and a great craft beer selection. Food service is fast and at a great price. Worth making a booking to visit though as it gets busy.
m. b.
Cozy and nice, this pub has a good atmosphere. Staff was kind and they have a fairly good selection of beers. I didn't try the food but the plates looked really good!
M. P.
Between the 3 of us, we pretty much ate the whole menu. Food was on point, staff were lovely, place was well decorated, chef was working like a trooper down the back! Top marks, loved it and will be back!
G. K.
A veggie pub with excellent food and also catering to gluten free. Unexpected, but pleasantly surprising. Just visiting Melbourne for a few weeks and this was the best food eating out
I. C.
As a non-vegetarian I was beyond impressed with the food, some great variety and so much flavour. The smoked eggplant was delicious as was the perogi. Definitely worth a visit!
G. M. R.
Great menu and a variety of beverage options. Quite noisy. Friendly staff.
It's a good idea to double check bookings made online as my booking never actually went through to their system.
O. O.
Feed me is amazing
Staff so friendly even with me freaking out over the nuts
Great fun
Shall be back
S. A.
Oh my Gosh where do I start! The chef was so generous he came up and met us from a shared smile! The food here is mouth watering, my favourite was the charred egg plant; Smokey and smooth drizzled in rich green tahini topped with crispy chickpeas. My second fav was Flatbread taco with Tempura advocado with Chipotle Aioli...this actually rocked my world! So many gluten free and vegain options! We are so lucky to be in Melbourne at this time!
H. Y.
We got the chef's choice menu, which were all tapas. It was nice but in hind sight we should have stuck with the a la Carter menu items as they looked tastier / better value
D. L.
Dull on the outside, renovated inside. Surprising and new. Good wide selection of different beers on tap. Nice chill and mellowed DJ music. Would go again.
S. J.
Amazing food. Service was fantastic the first time and a little slow the second. Nice atmosphere. Small dining area. Definitely going back.
M. S.
What a wonderful spot for vegans and vegetarians! The options are limited (at least when I went) for the gluten free vegans though. Staff were wonderful and the venue is great.
D. H.
