Great tasting Banh Mi (Vietnamese Pork Rolls). The baguettes were perfectly served, soft on the inside and crusty on the outside. They aren’t your typical Banh Mi, but man they are good!

I wasn’t really impressed with the taste of the “Lux Grilled Pork” Bun Mee. The meat tasted flat and with so many other Bun Mee stores in Melbourne, I’ve had much better tasting Grilled Pork Bun Mee’s. The location of Heartbaker is cool, packed away in a little alleyway. The service was fast. The other elements of the Bun Mee were pretty decent, just the meat, didn’t really excel.

My husband has been raving about the banhmis here. Came today and finally tried their Crispy Pork BanhMi! It's definitely not your traditional banhmi. The bread has a great crust to it, almost like it's been fried... And the crispy pork? Can't get enough of that crunch and well seasoned pork! Fair to say one of the best modern banhmi I've had! We also tried the steam baos, the crispy pork crackling bao was the bomb! The chicken not so much. So review takeaway; ORDER CRISPY PORK! Dang did this hit the spot! Been in lockdown and suddenly had a craving for bahn mi on a Sunday, nothing else was open other than this little shop tucked inside Scott alley on flinders lane. Decided to take my daughters to a light stroll to get some bahn mi- was very happy with the bahn mi’s here!! Got the pork crackling, grilled pork, and the grilled chicken. Amazing. I probably wouldn’t get the grilled chicken next time as the lemongrass flavor was way too strong but the two porks were uber delicious. Only have a picture of their spring roll because we finished off the bahn mi’s too fast! This will become one of my bahn mi staples along with n.lee and master roll!

The best roasted pork ‘Banh mi’ in town! 😋 Found this place while stumbling upon Melbourne’s laneway, the shop owner recommended roasted pork ‘banh mi’ which was huge surprise of how crispy of the pork and delicious sauce were. Living in Melbourne for a year now just wishing that a good Vietnamese place would open nearby, well finally my prayers were answered. While it may not be the most traditional Vietnamese place it definitely is one of the best. The Jurassic Classic bun mee is to die for and easily is the best roll of any kind that I have had during my time here in Melbourne. Service is always friendly and the food is always on point. I have returned and will return as often as I can!

Quite literally the best báhn mì I've ever eaten. I had the crispy roast pork and it was to die for. Not quite the regular style than you get around town as they bake a unique báhn but this is hands down the best id ever had. Strange it had no chilli though. Had to wait in line obviously because they're so good but worth the wait. I added a prawn and avocado rice paper roll as part of their special but that was a let down. 3 stars on rice paper roll and 6 out of 5 stars on the báhn mì. I just hope they stop putting their prices up.

A cozy, laneway café serving select Vietnamese dishes. The sign caught my attention and I couldn't resist giving the banh mi a try. I was not disappointed. The best Vietnamese shop in Melbourne. I usually come here on Saturday and never feel disappointed even once. The food especially the crispy pork banh mi is extremely outstanding which could not compare with any shop I ate before. Highly recommend. One more thing that I love here is the good customer service. The girl took order for me this Saturday lunch is very friendly and subtle by noticing that I have no hands to handle the food and giving the bag which I did not think about it or asked at first. Really appreciated that . She even remembered my face, what I ordered, where I work and have short conversation with me which made me feel very comfortable. Delicious banh mi place located just off Flinders Lane. Ordered the Crispy Pork banh mi as shown in the photo here. The roll itself was slightly smaller and not as filling as what used to but the flavour and freshness of the ingredients used here was good. The pork itself was crackly and the chili was bang on.

I stumbled accross this hidden gem whilst hunting out a good bahn mi in the city, and boy did this place deliver. The crispy pork (pictured) was delicious, lovely fresh bread and some of the best pork belly I've ever had, with the all the flavours of a traditional bahn mi mixed in. Service was friendly and prompt, and the atmosphere was buzzing for a Monday lunchtime. Highly recommend!

Extremely fresh and tasty baguette but the fillings (pickled carrot and daikon, pork etc) could be a little more flavourful. The portion size is also quite a lot smaller than your average banh mi. Still a really enjoyable roll

Oh my God, oh my God. That's what you'll be shrieking after eating a Crispy Pork Banh Mi from this place. They are awesome, simply the best you'll ever taste. The bread is something else and the pork is succulent, and the crackling is simply amazing. U cannot speak highly enough about this little gem tucked away down a lane. THE BEST BANH MI EVER. Seriously though, nothing compares to Heartbaker - particularly their Crazy Delish Crispy Pork. It's just one of those not-too-fancy mom and pop shops that gets it right. The banh mi comes on a not-too-hard tiger bread baguette with generous helpings of the sauce and meats. It's a favourite of mine and my colleagues, we go there at least once a week.

Best Vietnamese Banh mi in town. First of all, I am very very very happy with the food here and have to eat twice a week. But to be honest, I could not understand why I always received plastic bag instead of paper bag as I ordered on Uber Eat or Deliveroo. Sometimes I cannot get it why I paid there and receive plastic bag which are not good for environment and ppl are trying to reduce as much as we can. After all, I actually do not have any problem with the food here. Hopefully your restaurant could use the Uber bag as we order on Uber Eat. Thank you so much. Regards

After hearing raving reviews about Heartbaker, I finally decided to see what the fuss was about. To my surprise, this little shop tucked away down a little alleyway on Flinders Lane deserves all the praise I could award. I would consider myself quite the bahn mi connoisseur after having tried many in Melbourne but Heartbaker certainly takes the cake. My boyfriend was coming in from out of town and Heartbaker was the first place I took him, and after all the fine dining we had that weekend, we agreed that Heartbaker's Bahn Mi was the best thing we ate. 10/10

I work in Flinders Lane and discovered Heartbaker Bun Mee yesterday just tucked away down Scott Alley. I ordered the Crispy Pork Baguette, Grilled Pork Rice paper roll and a Crispy Pork Steam Bun. Absolutely amazing! All ingredients were super fresh and full of flavor! I completely loved the Pork steam bun l, it was soooo yummy! Can't wait to go back and try more next week! This is a top banh mi joint in city. Tucked away in small lane (like most good things) it's a very busy place, especially around lunch time so plan for 20 min from order to pick up. The goods are worth the wait though. Or, head there before 12 or after 1pm to get quick turnaround.

The best banh mi place for me so far. I tried quite a few Vietnamese bakery cafe to taste banh mi because I’m really hooked now. And this one is the best so far. I visited around 5pm that can’t be ideal time for expecting fresh bread. But the bread here is very different from any other place and ridiculously nice. I wonder if they lightly fry the outer crust when they get order? Or they put extra butter when they are making dough. It was buttey and really crispy. And crispy pork was just divine. Crackle was just perfect. And the meat was melting in mouth. And the portion was satisfying. Size of the banh mi itself is huge. I might ask for less mayo next time. And when I hand in cash, I really liked the girl took off her gloves straight away. It’s a good sign. Um I’ll definitely visit again. Tomorrow.
