Not traditional pizza that you’d expect from the menu or photos. Added olives and got about 6 or so. Tomatoes WERE very tasty and so was the sopresa, but the base and sauce was underwhelming.

What an amazing place. I really felt like I was in a family pizzeria in Naples. There are others that claim to be the best pizza in Melbourne but they don't even come close when compared to these guys. Started with olives, great Italian wine, made by their family in Abruzzo, and silky garlic focaccia. Then amazing pizza. Finished with rich and satisfying pizzetta. My wife had the tiramisu and couldn't keep the smile of her face. So full. What a great night and such value for money. We will be back again and again.

Pretty good gluten free bases but they only come in the small size. Reasonably priced. Good mix of topping options with a few different ones from the usual suspects. The Genovese with pesto, peppers and proscuitto is particularly good and their four cheese pizza has gorgonzola! Service is friendly and the interior looks nice, if a little small, although I've only ever had takeaway.

This place has to be one of my old time favourites ! The pizza is very good & consistent. Tonight I ordered the roast capsicum & zucchini entree served with focaccia pizza... delicious! Highly recommend you try a little treat from the desert menu! The staff are warm & friendly.

One of the original gourmet pizza places and still going strong. They know what worked for them originally and they havent changed the formula focusing on great quality ingredients and good craftmanship. Pizza sizes are not the biggest. Even my wife can finish her own pizza and the dessert pizzas are tiny - don't expect to share that if you order it (and you wouldnt want to either because they are tasty!).

The inside of the restaurant is quite cozy - both because of the exposed red brick, warm lighting and friendly staff; but also as the tables were pushed closely together (which would make it easy to accommodate large groups, I'm sure). The pizza is good, not our favourite, but still quality. My favourite part of the pizza had to be the crunch of the very last bite of the crust. But what really stole the show was the panna cotta. Yum!

Like being back in Italy! People say that the first time is always the best time. In the case of I Carusi, the best time is every time you go! Beautifully crafted consistent pizzas. No false pretenses or gimmicks, just real, down to earth and extremely tasty + fresh food to love and enjoy. House red wine served in normal drinking glasses, food arrives fast.. far out it's good.

While the pizza is exceptional quality, I was not happy about the size and price. I've worked as a chef and know how much it costs to produce. For $18 dollars I was expecting a large pizza which in actuality was slightly larger than a small.

Came back here for the first time in a long time and just had the best night! Thank you to our gorgeous host Angel. She was amazing. Food was better than remembered (and I remembered it was incredible). We were so full but will ALWAYS have room for their white choc and peach pizza, for dessert! Thanks for having us I carusi!! Really excellent pizza, and they've been doing it since long before good pizza was a thing in Melbourne. Do yourselves a favour and support a local institution! Takeaway is efficient but no delivery. Do note it's cash only.

I always enjoy coming to I Carusi pizza. We found this place while in search of the best pizzas in Melbourne. I Carusi and its sister in St Kilda was mentioned in several lists online, so I thought, ok, let's check it out. I always order margheritas when trying out a new pizza shop since it's plain but can be done so, so wrong, but I Carusi makes it so, so right. Perfect creaminess in the fior di latte, the right amount of crispy salty goodness in the base and the tomato sauce was perfect. I love that they use basil all the time since I avoid pizza places that use oregano instead. Wonderful pizza place. I'll recommend I Carusi to everyone I meet.
