A truly farm to table experience. The food and service are both great. Well be back very often.

While driving past was delighted to see that dinner was now on offer.
WOW what an amazing experience. The ambience and decor was very calming. The food was amazing with fresh herbs and produce, full of flavour
The staff were excellent.
All in all it was a fantastic night . I highly recommend you go here. I Will be returning .

I don’t say this lightly but this was one of the best lunches I’ve ever had. I came here with my husband and my parents and we chose the chefs choice menu for all of us. The food was nothing short of incredible. We must have spent 3 or 4 hours just reveling in the food and wine. It was such a wonderful experience and afternoon where we were carefully attended to by the friendly staff and lovely French owner. HIGHLY highly recommend. Such a little gem!

Beautiful lunch on way back to Melbourne.
Food is thoughtful and satisfying, fresh produce grown there, fresh pasta made that morning, bread made on premises.
Staff friendly, and helpful for dietary need.
We are booked in to go again!

A memorable meal. Super food beautiful presented.I have dined out extensively and it is rarity to find such a wonderful restaurant. The 4 of us gave it a 10 out of 10. We are going back shortly. Go feeling very hungry .

Rustic Italian? $85 per head ..I'm sure they could up the size of the serves. Several of the dishes were well crafted but not the Pasta . My BS meter lit up when the wait staff described every element of each dish. Staff worked hard to make us comfortable but don't call guests "my love". Things might improve once they shake the covid cobwebs off.

Coming out of lockdowns and with the staff shortage in hospo I have had some dodgy meals/service lately. This is not one of them. The service was on point. Very attentive and friendly and they do not rush you out the door.
Then the food. We did the feed me for 85 bucks. You won't be hungry after! It's all delicious whilst using produce grown on site. The pork belly was a highlight, so succulent, perfect crackling and served with a delicious salsa verde. There really wasn't a weak dish and everything was cooked perfectly (especially the pasta). Very impressive all round and the baby slept for over 2 hours through the whole thing. Result.

Great 4 course fixed menu meal. All four courses were ample and delicious and service was attentive and friendly. Great value for money.
Tip... Save some of the bread at the start to mop up the beautiful sauces as you go!

Absolutely amazing food. The service was fantastic.

We had the most amazing time at La Cantina. The setting was beautiful, with exceptional service from LoLo and her team. We came for a friends birthday and she made us feel very special and was very attentive, with her wine knowledge as particularly helpful. The food was also excellent and generous portions with the set menu. It’s a really great spot and will be recommending to friends and family for a visit. It was the little touches that really made the difference.

We had a good experience at La Cantina. The bruschetta was simple, oily and heavy on the cheese. The carbonara was rich and smokey, with pork that was a little too charred for my liking. The lamb was delicious and juicy. It had a warming homestyle quality. The chocolate tart was extremely rich and silky - delicious! We went on a hot day and the restaurant was very warm, perhaps uncomfortably so. Nevertheless, the staff were highly attentive. So apart from a couple minor considerations we had an enjoyable experience. The food arrived quick and it arrived hot. The drinks flowed easily. I recommend making the trip to La Cantina; a little gem amongst the farmstead.

We had a fantastic meal at La Cantina!

- The fig and Buffalo Mozzarella entree
- Lolo's incredible service and vibe
- Very generous portions
- Beautiful surrounds - this venue would be great for a wedding
Also a great placefor kids given thr lawn area and playground. Will definitely be coming back.

Highly recommended, wonderful spot for a weekend lunch. Lovely professional staff, good menu and lovely wines.
Will definitely be coming back again :)

‘Common Ground Project’ is a good stop through for tourists heading down the coast however for locals there are better places in the surrounding areas.
Menu was slightly deceiving, having ordered the smashed avo, radish salad and vegan cashew cream with added mushrooms I received two pieces of basic toast (not premium sourdough as described), half an avo, quarter of lemon and some fried mushrooms. Where was the salad and cashew cream? As I’d asked for it Vegan I also wasn’t provided with any dairy alternative spread and after asking was charged $1 for a smidgen of Nuttalex.
My friends and family’s dishes were also of small portions at prices that seemed quite steep for what was provided. $22 gnocchi for a dessert sized bowl full.
The atmosphere and aesthetics of the place since the renovations are quite trendy and nice however if you’re seeking a quiet lunch with friends or just a place to enjoy a quiet coffee, CGP is not for you! The amount of families with screaming kids and babies was bit of a downer for us.
If you’re passing through on the way to the coast and just need coffee I’d recommend CMP however if you’re after a great lunch for good value I would encourage you to just take the extra 10 minute drive and eat in Torquay. It would also be nice to see more vegan options and perhaps consistency with their menu/advertised prices vs their serviced dishes.

Great place food and service was really good 👌

Long wait for food (20min) at 11am
The schnitty burger was fantastic though.
Has a playground and goats for petting. Very kid friendly

Lolo and her team at La Cantina are fantastic. Not only are the staff friendly, attentive, and knowledgble - the food is OMG amazing! The homemade ravioli is standout (fresh, al dente with a herbaceous brown butter sauce)! As is the risotto (creamy al dente perfection). I have been twice now - make sure you are hungry if you order the chef's menu as they WILL feed you! Probably had one of the best martinis in a long time as well. Make it a destination, or book in if you are travelling through - you will love yourself for it!

Went for a date night and it was spectacular on all fronts. Mouth watering food, the buttery sauce on the ravioli nearly killed me it was so good. Great wine selection and everything was reasonably priced. We chose the $85 chef's menu and it was worth it. Lastly, we were served by really friendly, genuine people who wanted to give us the best experience. And we did! Thank you, a night to remember!
J. F.
Lolo and the team hosted a group of us for a birthday lunch, they were absolutely wonderful and the food was exquisite. Can’t recommend highly enough!

‘One of the best meals I’ve ever had!’
We loved the four course set menu - with allowance for one pescatarian and one ‘eat anything’. Lolo is a wonderful host.
J. D.
They make good hot chocolates and the staff are amazing. A friendly bunch that makes everyone feel welcome. There's a play area for children, and they occasionally do small events, like easter and such.
A great experience, worth every star.
D. O.
Amazing food and the service was great! They have a nice play area for the kids. Our daughter loved it.👍

Everything I hoped for and more!!!
The team at common ground (the host, the waitresses and especially head chef Glen) were all fantastic and really warming. You could see that they were really good at their work and were really passionate.
I was surprised by the Italian menu, wasn’t expecting it to be authentic, and was expecting a gimmick. But Glen proved me wrong— you can tell he has studied and really understands Italian food.
We booked a table for 10 for my bday and amending guests numbers was easy. We spent nearly 4 hours eating the chefs menu, exploring the fantastic wine list, and revelling in the homey farm environment.
I thoroughly enjoyed the day and would love to come back and taste more of the menu and wine. Thanks again guys.

We had a lovely time here with the kids, food was good and the service was excellent, the young lady was very attentive and keep checking back to top up all our drinks.
Plenty of room and space for the kids to play outside too, they loved the play house.
We loved all the indoor plants, that was nice and the coffee was great.
We will be back next time :)

It's fabulous to have a place like this locally. Absolutely stunning and well thought out sharing menu, with attentive and friendly service. Nice selection of wines to choose from as well. This farm to plate place is a gem, and compares to much pricier venues such as Brae. We will be back!
M. B.
Chefs menu from La Cantina was well worth it, 4 courses plus dessert and each one was amazing. Particularly enjoyed the lamb and pork but something as simple as house made spinach and ricotta ravioli was equally as delicious. Can't go wrong with fresh pasta and a silky buttery pan sauce
C. F.
Too pricey. Very basic poached eggs on toast $11. Kids milkshake 150ml plastic tumbler, $5
C. 7.
Breakfast was great. Had the eggs benedict, w. pulled pork on a potato rosti, pickled garnish and dill to top.
C. F.
Lovely farm based cafe with great coffee and food in a relaxed atmosphere. Prices are pretty reasonable. The food on offer ranges from large lunch options to sandwiches and snacks. It's a great place to break up the drive out the Great Ocean Road. There's also a playground for kids and you can see a few animals close up. Lots of parking. People have their wedding here too.
D. B.
The food was really flavoursome and with every bite you want and need more. By the end i ran into the problem my kids have, my mouth wants more but my tummy doesnt! Absolutley worth the trip from Melbourne.
M. S.
The food is amazing, very fresh and healthy options are available too. Coffee is good. There is a new playground and the outside area is now fenced so kids cant escape to the car park or front area. Chickens roam free now too. Much better than the farmers place which was nice but the food was no good. This will now become a regular place for me to eat!!!
M. C.
Such a good restaurant. Had one of my favourite pasta of all time (Ravioli butter and sage), and it reminded me when nonna was making it back home.
Will definetely back again and try the chef menù next time.
F. F.
La Cantina opened today: so good to have Glenn and Lolo do their thing again. Superb service - Hayley looked after us so we'll - food was amazing with all the old favourites and some. Well worth our drive from Melbourne. Well done and best wishes for the future!!!

Love the concept of the place so points for that.
We were hoping for a great lunch, because we regularly head to the coast & it is on the way, so would be a perfect stop.
But the food was unfortunately very boring.
Veg options are a little uninspired & there is no fish /seafood option at all on their summer menu.
Cannot comment on the land animal choices as we don't eat meat.
The wellness bowl had absolutely no thought or love in execution.
The place has good potential so hopefully it can improve its veg options, as we imagined that this place would have that side of things nailed.
A. F.
Stopped in for lunch. Lovely staff and delicious food accompanied by some local beers.
It is dog friendly out the front, and a great place for kids out the back. Inside is full of character, and the whole project is for a great cause.
Highly recommend 👍🏼

Really interesting menu. Will be back

Fabulous service with lovely people and setting. Delicious!

Lovely meal. Friendly happy staff and so well priced for such beautiful fresh food. We had our grand daughter with us and she loved it too. Well be back with the rest of the family.

Great coffee and wonderful staff. We were here for a children’s birthday party and the staff were wonderful managing the food and drinks for all party attendees. Letting the children feed and visit the animals on site was a highlight for them as well as the secure play area.
E. F.
Very friendly and welcoming staff and just amazing food that was delicious. Highly recommend eating here, and trying pretty much everything on the menu!
M. S.
Back after an absence of many months and was not disappointed. There have been some improvements since my last visit which enhance the experience.
The staff are still pleasant and helpful and the food is still great.
A very pleasant place for country outing.

Food and staff were amazing! The take away toasties were delicious and I loved their sustainable practises. Great initiative that more people should support, I will definitely be returning asap!
K. H.
Just beyond!! Food to die for....
I'll be back tomorrow it was that good.
P. T.
Food is good, but is overpriced for what you get.
J. T.
Food is high quality and not just the standard fare. Kid friendly without being too in your face. Great outdoor area for sunny days and excellent coffee (Inc filter). Highly recommended.
T. M.
Have been buying take away coffee from you for a number of years, today I was told I could take a mug in my car or use a jar... I understand the sustainability position, but surely there is better options than telling people to take a jar for their coffee, or a mug? Why can’t you just use recycled paper cups, the glass jar concept is just going to be thrown in the bin after use so not terribly sustainable.
Unfortunately walked out without buying my 2 coffees today. Disappointed
J. R.
This place is epic! Food was really good, smashed arvo and gnocchi were delicious and the coffee was great. Such a nice way to spend an arvo with the chooks roaming outside and looking out to the farm land, we’ll be back next weekend!

Food was delicious!
Highly recommended!
R. G.
Great food. A little pricey for lunch from the menu but they had a selection of sandwiches etc in a fridge section which would suit smaller budgets. Love having the chickens roaming. 😁
D. E.
Food here was tasty without being amazing. Staff were friendly and courteous. Food is expensive (although obviously fresh). Weekend surcharge leaves a sour taste in the mouth though.

Loving the freshness of the local produce available and they deliver for $5 directly to your door with such a BIG smile - Eggs, Greens, Beer & Avocados - Absolutely divine e...

Very good food, we had the margherita and the egg bacon roll, which were both very good. I would definately reccomend it.
