Comments of Little Ramen Bar

Nice location. Fairly new. Clean inside. Service was good. Had the classic and spicy ramen but was not the best. It came out quite quick after ordering which is nice but ramen wasn’t warm enough, and the spicy ramen wasn’t spicy at all. Ended up getting three different spices after requesting to making it spicy. Was a bit funny but I bet he brought it with good intention. Ramen noodle was just average, ended up having only soup and sides. Oh gyoza was okish. Liked only the bamboo shoots.

Little Ramen Bar offers, as its name suggests, a variety of beverage options as well as different styles of Ramen and other Japanese style nibbles. After relocation to Lt Collins St, it became more spacious, yet the friendly and fast service has not changed. Highly recommended for a quick bite/drink.

Little Ramen Bar Little Collins St is new. They relocate from Little Bourke St store. It's alot bigger and has a bar top area. The entire menu is the same as before. You place the order by scanning the QR code on the table. Ramen is average. But location is very convenient for city worker. Recommended for a quick lunch with colleagues or by yourself.

Good ramen, but I don’t think is the best. We had the spicy miso ramen.
The best is the 2x$10 Sapporo tap beers.
Everything is super clean and fast service.

Another week down another Ramen bar ☺️
This place has been an absolute standout from the rest, the Ramen was so tasty!
We ordered 3 seperate varieties all had their own unique flavour. I ordered the house Ramen and because I was feeling a little on the hungry side I opted for the 'godzilla' size.
I basically got 2 servings of broth and noodles with it for an extra $6.
We washed down the tasty broth with some Sapporo beers and had some pork and chicken gyoza's which are a staple when we order Ramen.
Service was excellent and the venue was super clean. If you're around Little Bourke Street and are looking for a nice quick meal I highly recommend dropping into this place!

Relocated to little collins store is bigger than before!! Ramen is so tasty, kimchi is super yummm and I love the SAPPORO Drought beer. An overall very satisfying ramen shop in the city!

My favorite place this ramen is the best in Melbourne. Kind staff and comfortable atmosphere.
They have Sapporo bear promotion as well!
Visit again :)

Nice little ramen shop close to our place.
The ramen soup was good but I wish it was more thick but probably it was just the menu that I ordered.
The tan-tan ramen was delicious with smoky flavour soup. I just wished they had put more meat in the ramen so I could still taste some meat after one bite!
J. H.
Love this mini restaurant! I would say its one of my favourite ramen places to eat! It has a nice cosy feel. Food is fast and delicious! Recommend the ramen with the butter corn! The staff are always friendly and welcoming!
Y. C.
Fortunately the restaurant was nearly empty when I visited this place and hence the service was fast. Broth was nice, thick, flavorful and warm, sufficient quantities of toppings (to be purchases separately which is very disappointing) and the aromatic chilli oil on the table was the star. Melbourne wintery nights are on the corner, seems like I am gonna be regular here.
E. J.
I love this place! Galric shio ramen was good! I recommend this shop if you like Japanese ramen!
K.
Was disappointed that the vegan ramen is not ‘ramen’ but rice vermicelli... they should state this in their menu/ inform customers when taking orderings. Other vegan ramen places do have vegan ‘ramen’ instead of replacing it with a random noodle and call it vegan ramen... Toppings and taste were average but giving it a 4 stars for the fair price and portion. Will not recommend their vegan ramen.
K. C.
Fantastic spot! A group of us were searching for something to eat on Boxing Day when nothing was open and found this joint. Food was unbelievable and staff were so nice - there was a mix up in payments and they dealt with it so well. Will be going back next time I’m in Melbourne!
H. C.
I always order the same thing as it’s just the best and takes me back to winter time in Hokkaido. Classic tonkotsu ramen with added corn, butter, egg & pork slices. So glad we have this gem in Melbourne.
T.
Service was good, nothing to fault there, however the food itself wasn't horrible but it wasn't outstanding either.
We ordered gyoza, spicy miso and chashu tamago ramen. Both dishes were mediocre in comparison to previous visits. There simply wasn't enough depth in both broths.
The most enjoyable dish of the 3 was the gyoza with crispy skin and tasty filling without being overly salty.
Overall, not bad but not great.
A. C.
Decent quality ramen and good value with a large selection of favours. Place can be a crowded at times and expect to wait to be seated at busier times. Generous helping of egg and pork which were the highlight of the ramen.
L. C.
Very friendly and quick service, good place to have a bowl of ramen with affordable tap beer. The price is reasonable for the food quality that you got and the spice level for the ramen is customisable. Will definitely come back.
m. C.
Immediately greeted at the door, seated with menu, glass and bottle of water on the table by 2 seconds of sitting. Really loved the efficient and polite service from the Japanese staff. Broth was good and noodles had a nice bouncy consistency. Portion was plenty and very reasonable for price. It's a small place but the upside is that food comes out very quickly. Been twice already, would go again.

People are very passionate about their ramen, and you can get lots of heated discussions on why one is better. I was lucky enough to go to a blogger event organised by the owners.
We tried MANY types of ramen, and admittedly, by the end of the night I was ramen’ed out however, the chashu ramen and the garlic shio ramen were standouts for me. There’s even a vegan ramen!
What was a particular standout was the gyozas – they were the best I’ve ever had… a HUGE call, but true. Packed with flavour, and the meat is juicy and crispy soft skin. They make them on site, and it shows. Even the vegetarian ones were delish.
I’ve been to LRB a couple of times since then, and the place is always packed and busy at lunch time so get in early to avoid disappointment. If you're getting lines out the door, you must be doing something right.
Great vibe, bustling atmosphere, tasty ramen packed with flavour. AMAZING GYOZA.
E.
Best vegetarian Ramen I ever tried so far
😋😋😋

Recently discovered this place, reminds me of my time in Japan with its range of amazing food it’s hard to find another place like this. Glad I found this place might be my go to.
Itadakimasu!!!

This place is alright. There's so many ramen places to choose from so you have to do a lot to stand out.
I tried their signature ramen place for something different, but didn't really prefer it over the traditional pork broth.
A.
Nice place with good ramen and beers. It is a smaller restaurant and gets quiet busy. We went on a Tuesday night and were able to get seats immediately. You will need to share tables with others though. The service was friendly and quick. The ramen came out very quickly and taste was nice but I wouldn’t go as far to say it’s the best place in town. This place has more variety in the type of broths available to suit different palates which differs to other ramen places which have limited selections. Personally I prefer lighter broths and it’s good to see they cater to vegans as well.
A. _.
Not the most desirable food, even packaged ramen has more taste than the ramen served here. The ramen noodles didn't taste too fresh, and the pork was (surprisingly) dry, chewy, and tasteless. The Shio broth, a chicken broth, lacked substantial chicken flavour. The music is kind of loud. I witness one waitress accidentally touch the endnof a chopstick then proceed refill the jar of pickled ginger. Not badly priced, but the flavours could have been better.
S. S.
Beautiful ramen. Had the signature dish with added corn and egg. Was simple, and delicious. The stat of lunch though was the Gyoza. Would recommend, it you go here, you have the get the Gyoza. The Kim Chi was great as well. Incredibly sour and bitter, just delicious!
P. P.
Ramen was good. Not the best but also not the worst. I thought the price was fair for the good sized portion. It got busy after I arrived for dinner, so it definitely appears to be a popular spot
Y. L.
Like a whole in a wall with great authentic ramen. Ramen is served fast and hot. Staff are pretty and friendly. They made a good effort in accommodating for big groups. Must try!
L.
Nice and roomy ramen bar. Food comes out quick and quality is pretty decent.
A. L.
Little ramen bar is a small cosy restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. I tried the chashu tamago ramen with a miso soup base and it was pretty good. The bowls came out quickly and the miso base was nice and rich. The tamago was cooked fairly well and the extra chashu made it a good portion size. QR code used for easy sign in.
F. G.
Tried the Chasu Tamago Ramen on this little ramen shop across Chinatown. The noodle was good, had a bit of chewiness to it. The broth was savory and light. Pork slices were tender, helped by a layer of belly fat in it. Eggs may be a bit tad over, but still good.
J. N.
I've been here a few times and absolutely loveee their signature ramen. Great taste, good portion, reasonable price, quick service, friendly staff ❤ Highly recommended 😁
D. E.
Garlic shio ramen was pretty good. The pork Gyoza were oustanding. Price seems to have gone up a fair bit in the last few months.
Y. C.
Good taste, price and service. Nice place to take my lunch time.
T.
My very favourite place for their spicy miso ramen and gyoza dumplings. Definitelly recommend.
G. L.
Visiting Melbourne and came to Little Ramen Bar for dinner after reading their reviews. The ramen did not disappoint and we thoroughly loved it. Very flavoursome and yummy Tonkotsu broth. Busy eatery but well worth the wait. Thank you
M.
This place was just delightful! Our bellys were full and our ramen bowls were full of flavour! On top of that.. The pork was very succulent and very tasty, wish I ordered extra pork!
A. C.
Decent quality ramen and good value with a large selection of favours. Place can be a crowded at times and expect to wait to be seated at busier times. Generous helping of egg and pork which were the highlight of the ramen.

What a fantastic place to go and eat. The food is great, had a really good ramen and nicely spiced kimchi. The staff ate really nice too. Yes the place is small but that's not a problem, there's a quick turn around. I had a seat in the window so got to see the world go by as I ate. Would highly recommend.
H. W.
The broth is not bad, however I ordered the tan tan noodles, sprouts are a bit of burnt during they fried it.
W. T.
Wasn't a fan of the ramen when they were at Little Bourke st.
It is now my go to Ramen besides Ippudo (which is pricier)
Highly recommend.
L. V.
Great service sizes and prices, it was so delicious, will go back!

It's a small but very busy restaurant..
Staffs r friendly..
I ordered seafood ramen.. it was a huge portion n really tasty.. n reasonable prices too.. would love to come try other dishes again
E. C.
Decent ramen with a strong variety and good flavours. Staff were nice and food came out quickly despite it being busy. The main downfall was it was too salty which detracted from the overall very positive dining experience.
C.
The service staff were attentive and we received our peers very quickly.
I had a shoyu-based ramen and gyozas. Personally, I felt that the ramen was average at best. While it wasn't one of the best ramen I've had, it's not the worst either.
The gyoza, on the other hand, was extremely flavourful and I loved the contrast of the fried skin of the gyoza with the moist fillings.
H. O.
Very quick, I was only in there for about 10 minutes and my food was ready in less than5 minutes. I would definitely recommend and get there fast as it’s a small place and may fill up quickly
R. G.
Nice Cosy shop, has a nice selection of choices from Miso Tonkotsu, Tori and vegetarian options. There is a large drink menu as well.
Miso Tonkotsu special was only $15 for all of this, was very filling, presented well and tasted great, only issue was the noodles were a bit hard for my liking and there was no option to change it but personal preference really. In-House gyoza was very nice but a couple of the pastries were ripped apart but 6 pcs for $7 is a good price. Would highly recommend for someone who likes a quick feed
M. C.
Tried their vegetarian ramen 🍜, and it’s delicious! Service is quick too! Would recommend you try out their ramen!
K.
Pretty good, very reasonably priced. Egg was a touch overcooked and the chasu was a little dry. Not quite a home run but I would definitely eat it again. Staff were absolutely lovely, and the wait time was minimal even though it was dinner on Friday.
S.
Had ramen here by myself, I know sad but the food here is something that you should enjoy with full attention. The place is extremely tiny and you might have to wait for a seat. The prices here are your normal prices. It has pretty good soup tasty and the noodle taste great. I have been to almost all of the ramen shops in Melbourne and I reckon that this place is worth going to. Portion isn’t too stingy too! Good for a student!
S.
Tasty Ramen at affordable price. I would recommend get Miso-based Ramen and also if you're feeling adventurous, get the Spicy Miso Ramen since its distinctively different flavour from normal ones. Ramen were timed to arrive under five minutes (impressive). Come early if you don't like waiting for long line.
a. b.
The best handmade pork gyoza, ramen and kimchi!! Very good service and the manager is very passionate about his work😊
A. b.
Best ramen place I've been to for the price, I've only had one bad dish from them my fried rice was really over cooked and a little bit burnt, but I'm going to keep coming back 👍
F. M.
Fantastic meal, lots of flavour and arrived quickly
I love ordering via the QR code and the atmosphere is fantastic
Y.
One of the best ramen i have tried in Australia! We walked quite a bit to reach this place but it was so worth it! Very delicious and quite crowded with the locals as well. Would recommend all to try out this place!
l.
Friendly service and great food.
This is a little gem in the centre of the city and we'll worth a visit for a ramen.
Ordered the Hokkaido Ramen which is delicious.
Atmosphere at this place is very casual with Japan pop music
D. M.
They have Tan Tan ramen! Only place in Melbourne I've found it! And a Godzilla sizing option for any of the Ramens for only $4.50 extra! And 2 Sapporo beers for $10!!!
Taste was great! And it's definitely got the most variety in terms of Ramen types I've seen at any Melbourne ramen place. I've got lots to try here so I'll definitely be back!
Didn't make the very top my list of Melbourne ramen places for flavour (that goes to Mr Ramen San for their Charsu Ramen with Spicy Tonkotsu) but definitely second or third.
J. D.
Decent ramen overall. Broth was somewhat flavorful but lacked much depth. Reasonably priced, with a visit but many other options in the surrounding area.
P. K.
Had the tan tan men Ramen which was only ok. Broth was a bit plain while the noodles were good but not great. This place used to be one of the better Ramen places in Melbourne, but there's a few better ones around these days.
J. P.
Amazing food, big portions and not expensive. A number of different ramen to choose from and a good selection of sides as well
A. B.
It's a good ramen place. It was a good surprise the two half eggs (Tamago) because many places jusd give one (half) or nothing. The broth was a little bit too light for me and the charshiu was too thin. Missed some sesame or chili sauce on table. The price is reasonable and do you have the chance to ask for a bigger size for some extra.
f. t.
There are better places to go for ramen. The broth is too light and there is an overwhelming amount of seaweed.
M. “. O.
Wasn't the worse Ramen I've eaten. But wasn't anything special. Seating can be a bit crowded when it's busy and you will probably share a table with a stranger if you are eating alone.
N. T.
Great tasting Ramen and even has with delicious tasting vegetarian Ramen. Don't forget the extra noodles!
J. T.
I love my ramen, not going to lie. Great little eatery, efficiently serving steaming bowls through the day, their special ramen was miso based on the Sapporo style with corn and butter, and the noodles having a pleasant bite! Great winter soul food.
D. D. T.
Great ramen - highly recommend the Spicy Miso Ramen. Cheap beers (2 for $10). Tiny restaurant so be prepared to wait on weekends, though it's well worth it :)
E. Y. L. L.
Their ramen in Godzilla size is very satisfying, with Sapporo beer that's a perfect combination. Wouldn't recommend gyozas cuz they are are a bit too peppery in my opinion
Took away a star because last time I visited there was a Korean staff (heard she said so when she was talking to another customer) who was not as friendly
Z. B.
Friendly service and easy to find place. Menu is extensive which is great however ramen is okay nothing spectacular. Not a place I will be recommending to anyone for a great ramen.
R. K.
Little Ramen Bar is a cosy, warm and welcoming dining venue with both indoor and outdoor seating, and lovely and courteous staff to boot.
They have a great menu, that is able to be be adapted for a number of dietary/lifestyle choices, including vegetarian, vegan and kosher.
With both dine in and take away options available, the wait time for both customer service and meal service was more than acceptable.
Overall, I could not fault my experience at Little Ramen Bar, and I will be eagerly awaiting my next visit Melbourne so I can dine here again!
A. A.
A little gem in the city. Small space ramen place with a nice ramen. Tried the classic ramen, it was okay. I like the broth to be tastier and thicker. It was still enjoyable. Staffs were friendly. Service was good and quick.
S. J.
Good food. Service can be a little rushed sometimes. Rice noodles for gluten free choices are good too!
M. R.
Lovely Little Ramen Bar is what it should be called. My friends and I turned up for a table at peak dinner time and the staff catered for us so well. It is only a small venue and by the time all of my friends arrived we had taken up a good amount of the tables available which the staff were happy to shuffle around for us. So kind, friendly, and accommodating. Thank you. The food was oh so tasty too.
E. M.
Great little spot with food at a competitive price. Can only speak for the ramen bowls we had but they were decent quality and the customer service was friendly. Will probably return to try more!
A. Z.
It's the go to place if you're craving Ramen! Super quick service and each dish tastes amazing
K.
I have been to Japan 4 times and my husband 9 times. We found this place and are so happy we tried it. The ramen tasted like it had been prepared for the correct duration, so full of delicious flavour. If we ever come back to Melbourne, we will be back for sure. Such friendly hostess also.
M. A.
Not too pricey but their serving is quiet large. The ramen was flavorsome and deeem their dumplings was delicious.
Customer service was good, the food came quickly and the staff were friendly.
J. H.
Always hot, fresh, tasty & quick, yummy ramen & gyoza! Sometimes it's a gamble on getting a table, but if you're solo or a duo you should be able to get a spot with not too much of a wait.
E. E.
Little ramen bar has a huge range of options that all taste good! The gyoza sizes are good also. You can visit here every day of the week and try a new ramen flavour. Good for the lunch time work crowd or a quick after work dinner.
A. B.
Very nice ramen, reminiscent of Japan. Can have large portions of seaweed which whilst I didn't mind, that may not be your thing. If you've had authentic ramen before you'll probably enjoy this place.
J. l.
Visited here last week. I don’t remember the exact name of the ramen I had but the soup was light and had an after taste of garlic that was lovely. However I’m not sure why they decided to use egg noodles that reminded me of the same type they use chou mein - personally not a fan. Their eggs could have been marinated better probably to have a stronger taste IMO and yolk was slightly harder than I would have preferred. The 2 pieces of cha shu was poor. Too soft and lack of any character. Would have been nice to have the flavour of the chashu/egg pop out in each bite but that that wasn’t the case with my bowl of ramen. Seaweed salad on the side was also a bit too sweet. However the ambience was great and my friend and I had a great time over ramen and beer. Little ramen bar is something different and might not be my cup of tea but would definitely return for a quick bite if around the area!
H.
Ramen was so delicious but definitely could improve. Staff are friendly and felt like we're Japan. Overall it's a nice little Ramen nar
S. F.
First time here tried the hot misso with a Sapporo abdoulutely delicious. Very quick service and staff friendly. Japanese music in the background set the atmosphere
P. P.
Very good ramen near the station. Trading hours are more suited for city goers not suburban folks and this place would thrive in a local suburbs. Quality food. Highly recommended.
A.
Tasty ramen overall but not the best tonkatsu in Melbourne CBD. Noodles were cooked well but the broth lacks depth of flavour.
K. G.
Absolutely spectacular! Their new venue is amazing and food is amazing.
C. E.
Delicious, perfect thing to warm you up this winter!
L. F.
Yuuuuum! An absolute must. Great servings, great service and delicious ramen. Perfect for cold winter days. Try the yuzu and plum wine too!
F. D.
Nice tonkatsu but not great. Pork is very thin. Ramen eggs are nice.
Would go back but not my preferred ramen joint in Melbourne
D. D. T.
Great ramen - highly recommend the Spicy Miso Ramen. Cheap beers (2 for $10). Tiny restaurant so be prepared to wait on weekends, though it's well worth it :)

Cozy small restaurant with decent food. Good customer service.

Very friendly staffs, the dish i ordered was just ok for my personal liking, we were located at the very end, inside seating which have odd smells.

Fantastic ramen in Melb. The service was quick and the ramen was delish!!!

Really tasty broth, fast service even when busy and generous serving sizes.

Ramen was good, great gyoza, lovely service
T. F.
Super quick service. My vegetarian ramen and gyoza were both delicious. I would have liked some more vegetarian options
I. K.
My favourite place for delicious bowl of ramen. Always busy always freandly and always feels like in Japan. I love it!
N. U.
Really enjoyed my Ramen here. About $14 but potion size is filling and good. Broth was well balanced. It's a very busy place so be ready to wait outside till a table becomes free although it's not too long as people tend to be quick with the meal. The restaurant is small so might get claustrophobic to some. Overall, great! great
d. m.
Love this little place just off Elizabeth street. First time that I went I wasn’t as impressed but was definitely due to the plain type ramen I ordered. I now regularly have the garlic shio ramen and it is fantastic! Absolutely perfect if you happen to be suffering a cold and delicious if you aren’t lol. Pork gyoza is also great from here, fried rice is okay but I get better stuff from next door. If you’re feeling hungry and cold definitely stop off here for ramen!

Great little ramen bar and amazing customer service! My partner and I got two of their vegetarian ramens along with vegetarian gyōza and it was all delicious. The two staff that were working when we went in were super friendly. Definitely recommend this place!
Z. N.
Awesome ramen, great price and friendly staff. What more can you ask for?
A. K.
Very nice broth
One of the best ramen in my book in Melbourne
A. L.
Small but super cozy with nice food. Don't recommend for groups due to the size.
A.
I was really disappointed considering the reviews for this place are quite good. It was just such an average bowl of ramen, and I rarely day that about ramen because tbh I LOVE ramen and I'm quite easily satisfied when I get my ramen fix. I tried this place on a rainy and chilly day and I was really excited... Oh well.
All t hat being said, it was a generous and filling bowl. Would I say it's worth the price or the wait? Would I return? No and no and while I don't feel an inclination to try this ramen bar again, that's not the kind of foodie that I am. I will give this place another try, if I'm nearby and there isn't a line, I'll pop in to try another bowl and see if my opinion changes. At present, I feel Little Ramen Bar is overrated, I would give it 3.5 stars at best.
L. V.
Great service sizes and prices, it was so delicious, will go back!
T. G.
Visited last night (during covid lockdown) and it was great. At the moment they are seating four outside and 10 inside and take bookings for groups of four or more. Our group of three sat outside and it wasn't too cold at all as they had a heater outside. Ramen was great, service was great.
B. O.
Fantastic ramen in Melb. The service was quick and the ramen was delish!!!
N. H.
Best Ramen I've had in Australia (and Ramen exploration is always a must on any trip).
N. S.
Excellent ramen and great service!
H. S. W.
Gyoza is delicious and juicy. Service was excellent.
However, the ramen wasn't up to expectation, especially after reading all the reviews. Miso soup base turned out too salty and the texture of the noodles weren't that great. Fried rice could be better too.
M. L.
Little Ramen Bar is a great little place with a wide menu. The food comes out quickly and I think the staff should get a particular mention, they're extremely diligent and attentive. I ordered gyoza and when it came out they mentioned that one had broken during cooking so they gave me 50% off the dish which would never have bothered me anyway. Great place!
M. T.
Good food, reasonably priced.
Good, friendly service.
N. M.
Great Ramen and friendly staff. Perfect place to grab a meal on a colder day to keep you warm!
J. S.
Cute little ramen place - the shio ramen was a nice light broth. The portions were on the small side.
J. W.
Gosh I love this place. The menu is extensive and the food is great. So many choices. Always love hokkien with anything chicken. Do try the classic or the spicy miso. Staff are lovely and very fast and efficient. Note that this place does a roaring trade all day but lunch hours are particularly busy, so come earlier if you can. Dietaries can be catered for but just speak to staff. Wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly.

One of the best Ramen places in town! Make sure to go early so you don't have to wait outside. Although the staff take you order while in line so your food comes out right as you sir down. The service is fast and friendly. I recommend the spicy Raman for those who like it Hot! But you can't beat a miso based Chashu Tamago for tasty 'hits the spot' food!
N. K.
Delicious food 😋. Fantastic service.
A. D.
Great little ramen bar, small and cozy with all the mainstream Japanese beers available. A great experience!
L. L.
Spicy miso ramen is my favourite... I come here when I can!
P. C.
Had a nice time here, staff were quite happy and kind when we arrived. Had a bit of a wait outside before a table was ready but not quite as long as other places around! Definitely was worth the wait.
We went with the spicy hot ramen option, choosing "hot" but not "extra hot". "Hot" is a pretty solid level of spicy, so we assume "extra hot" is an extreme level of chilli hot!
Would recommend giving this place a try :)
R. D.
Tiny, compact little shop that offers jam packed flavours of ramen.
E. L.
Personally I think their ramen was a little overrated because in Melbourne, there are a few places that serve better ramen than this.
The reason I rated it as 4 stars was because of their Homemade pork dumpling. Thin layer of crispy dough wrapping up with some juicy well seasoned meat make me reorder the dumpling twice with my friends.
M.
Like the refreshing seaweed salad and the shoyu based ramen with chewy noodles and delicate broth.
M. T. C.
Tough call. I want to give four stars to this friendly, charming, pleasant little outpost of Japan . . . but based on six bowls of ramen eaten there during a span of 18 months, The Little Ramen bar's noodles simply weren't awesome enough to merit it. Not bad. But the best local competition is very, very good. However, if I were passing by and hungry then I'd probably give them another shot.
M. D.
Such a cute little ramen shop! Get there early or the tables will all be full. We got a bowl of ramen and dumplings for $24 between the two of us and it was plenty. Would really recommend :)
J. S.
Great ramen, affordable and inside has a cozy homely feel. Highly recommend
G. G.
Really tasty broth, fast service even when busy and generous serving sizes.
A. D. S. G.
I had a delicious seafood ramen and the traditional pork dumplings! Very filling and reasonable prices.
J. A.
Easily one of the best Ramen joints in Melbourne (And that's saying something, there's a few!). Has some great nontraditional options and a decent amount of vegetarian options. Excellent atmosphere with a hole in the wall feel. Make sure to get in early or be prepared to wait, because this place gets packed!
J. L.
Milky type of broth. There was nothing wrong with it but it wasn't to my taste.
I got the charsu tamago with miso base. and found the depth of flavours to be lacking. The texture of the noodles were adequate.
Service was friendly.
R. M.
Cute little Ramen Bar. Went after reading all the reviews. Entrees were good. Our Veggie ramen fell a bit flat though. The stock wasn't flavourful, a bit watery. Really wanted to like this place! Oh well :)
J. N.
Just like being in Japan all over again. Food amazing, super fast. Excellent service.
B. H.
Went to this place for dinner and it was super tasty! Ironically, I chose not to have the ramen but instead opted for their vegetarian gyoza which were super delish!! EXTREMLY tasty for a humble dumpling!
The service was very fast and efficient, waitresses all incredibly friendly and smiley and overall a reasonably priced menu!
A. V.
My favourite ramen in Melbourne, great food at reasonable prices
It's usually very busy around lunch and dinner so some waiting may be necessary as they put the emphasis on little in little ramen bar
For an extra $5 any ramen will come in a godzilla size, sure to satisfy even the king of monsters
D. H.
The best ramen I've ever had as well as tasty Gyoza! Such a small but lovely environment. The staff were efficient and sweet. Glad this place is popular with the locals. It's worth the wait.
C. W.
Amazing.
The miso soup base here is divine. Had every last drop of it, I'm shameless that way.
The noodles here are just the right texture. The portion here is generous. Every ingredient is cooked the way like how I remembered when I was in Japan.
Depending on the time you arrive, your waiting time may vary as the name suggest, the place is little.
I will be back for my ramen fix.
H. P.
The best ramen place I've ever been too. Worth the travel into the city. I crave this place all the time and can't wait for my next trip there.
C. S.
Super delish ramen in a cosy little spot. Wouldn't recommend bringing a big group as space is at a premium, but the tasty food (and cheap Sapporo) is worth squeezing in!
I. F.
The best ramen you can find. Walked the length & breath of Melbourne to find this cute little gem. Once found, absolutely no regrets.
L. v. Z.
A little overrated. Average ramen with generous corn and seaweed toppings.
J. T.
Good portions. Flavour is pretty good. Don't let the corn overpower the taste of the soul base. The seafood ramen seems more work in progress. Very nice cozy ambiance.
D. D.
This little gem is amazing. Great ramen, great range of imported beverages. Incredibly quick, and likely to be less than $25! Very busy, usually a line. Doesn't split bills.
K. T.
Possibly my favorite ramen place in Melbourne. Incredibly busy all the time and definitely expect a wait, but it's well worth it. The broth is delicious, the noodles are nice and chewy and portions are generous. Perfect for a cold winter day! Close to theatres if you've got tickets to watch something later in the night (that's what we did) and service is also very fast, as expected for ramen places!
d.
Always saw a busy line up outside the shop so wanted to check it out.
I must say it was well worth it, delicious ramen, cold frothy beer on tap and service to match.
Well done Little Ramen Bar!
L. R.
Ramen Bar
Extremely fast service and very nice and friendly stuff. Small in size but warm in the atmosphere. Food it's average and I believe partially pre-ready since it came so fast that I was astonished! Money wise it's a good deal.
T. H.
My friend and I liked Little Ramen! Everyone complained about the the table but they worked pretty well for us. The wagyu beef was really good as was the steak sashimi...actually everything that we had was good (we also had the tomato salad, vegetable pancakes, kimchi pancakes and bibimbap). Service was 5/5 - our server was very knowledgeable and helpful! We also got complimentary custard desserts. Would definitely be down for coming back to try out more items on the menu
J. Y. A. N.
Good ramen both soup and dry versions. Servings are big before u order extra noodles or the godzilla sizes. Some noodles come without certain condiments such as the eggs or shoots so choose and add the stuffs u like accordingly
S. H.
Food is delicious, quick and the sizes are generous! They don't need to change a thing!
J. Y.
Amazing ramen at superb prices - the Chashu Tamago is a must try! Staffs are attentive, friendly and really welcoming. The place is small, but pretty cozy. There are limited seats and you would not be able to place a booking (they're really busy and there is usually always a queue). If you're looking for a place with a good atmosphere to have great ramen with your friends, I'd recommend giving this place a go.
C. C.
3 Stars purely based on their ramen. Service was fine.
My all-rounded comments:
A basic ramen should tell you if a place is worth coming back for or not and the verdict is: nope! I ordered their most basic ramen with miso base (they let you choose between miso/soy/shio)
• Ramen: Noodles were fine, but that should be a given. Soup was a let-down. Not enough depth, and if you eat ramen enough, you know it's all in the soup! And everything else is important but secondary.
(If you like Shujinko you'll likely be pleased with this place. Do yourself a favour and remove Shujinko from your list of favourites. Even this is less bad. My bar for ramen has been spoilt good by Hakata Gensuke. I recommend nowhere else - no Bankara, no Menya, no Shujinko and no Ajisen for goodness sake.)
• Pricewise: $11.90 for ONE single milimeter thick slice of chashu, which was fine but damn, could you be just a tad less sparing? $13.90 for if you want an onsen egg and 2 extra pieces of meat, which would be fine IF their soup was up to standard.
To be fair, they tried to make up for it with their generous portions of spring onions, bamboo and seaweed (too generous?)
• Service: Can't fault service. They don't charge for tap water. Good quality chopsticks? Can't say much more.
• Ambience: neutral
It wasn't BAD, but I wouldn't come back a second time, especially with Shanghai Street Dumpling literally round the corner. Much more bang for your buck there.
J. L.
Gyoza very good. Seafood ramen was not bad - very salty broth not quite matched by depth of flavour. Better ramen to be had at shujinko or hakata for my taste.
j.
So delicious! I lived in Japan and I always come back to this same ramen restaurant. Gyoza are so good. Taste homemade although a slight different taste from most Japanese ones. I love the special miso ramen.
J. T.
Petite in size with lots of Godzila ramen. The best soup noodles you'll ever have!
That's their motto and I'm happy to go along with that ....
It's one of those Melbourne's awesome drizzling day so let's try the Shoyu Ramen, perfectly balance chicken broth base soup, the Ramen was cooked just right, fresh with the Barley Tea combo it went along well.
Will comeback for more and try those enticing offers on the menu.
J. F.
Fantastic ramen at a great price. The place is pretty cozy and there's only limited seating though so don't come at prime dinner time or else you'll probably have to wait. It's also not a bad place to meet people due to how crowded it can get, everyone's pretty friendly.
N. M.
While the ramen was delicious, I was hoping that there would be a tonkotsu ramen selection. I settled for a miso based ramen instead, and was not disappointed by the quantity and the deliciousness.
Be careful going for the Godzilla size, you may think you are ravenous and can handle it, but it really is Godzilla size!
The service was not that special, and we got awkward bar stools (pretty standard Japanese seating). The waitress messed up our order, but there was no issue correcting it when we realized.
I'm a fan of tonkotsu ramen, so the fact that the menu didn't have any here means that I'll probably go to Hakata Gensuke for my ramen fix, but if that doesn't bother you then this place is worth it!
C.
Tasty ramen, great broth and service although the serving is on the small side compared to other ramen restaurants especially in regards to that meat portions which in my dishes case would be about the same size as one strip of bacon but about half as thick as you'd normally buy.
J. N.
Had the best day today and to top it of with some Sapporo beer here at the Ramen Bar! :)
C. V.
Great spicy ramen! And the gyozas are amazing! Love this place!
J. C.
Quality ramen! Love it
D. H.
Melbourne still struggles with great Ramen places to eat. This is definitely one of the better ones. Maybe just a notch below great, so this gets my vote. A bonus is the friendly and attentive staff, hence 5 star rating
S. P.
Great ramen and the fried dumplings. Also there is quite a variety of ramen variations to fit all tastes.
ゆ.
There are many places that offer ramen in Australia, however most of them are far apart from those of Japan. This place is legitimate and I enjoyed the Chashu tamago ramen, miso-based which had good flavor. Recommend to Japanese who miss their home country like me.
N. C.
Yo people! This is the place to be! Portions are usually decent for most ramen store but this has a massive portion for a normal and a definite “full-filling” GODZILA add on experience!
Broth-on point!
Noodles-on point
Meat- not the best cha siu but larger in portion!
Gondzila up ramen maniacs!
M. G.
This is one of the best ramen bars in the city. I come here every few weeks for a nice hot meal with a friendly face. It's a 10/10
K. T.
Naruto would approve of the Little Ramen Bar. It is a tiny place as the name suggested, but the staff are welcoming, friendly, and most helpful. I had a spicy and garlic loaded Ramen that packs a punch with both spice and flavour.
M. Y.
Small noodle joint with a limited menu. The soup noodles are tasty and reasonably priced.
Come early as the little place fills up fast.
G. F.
Been a few times now for both lunch and dinner and have never been let down. Fast, efficient service, great ramen and gyoza and the beers are cold and frosty.
b.
I didn't really like texture of the noodles as it was more gummy - reminded me of a thinner version of egg noodles. The broth was a bit on the saltier end. But they had generous toppings.
F. K.
Rating this restaurant based on the taste of the broth and noodles served - I had the Tonkotsu miso and broth was pretty ok, but not to my liking. Noodles they serve is quite “thick” and like commercial noodles.
E. P.
It's ramen so it is hard to screw it up. There is an extensive menu when it comes to both the different types of ramen and the alcoholic beverages. The restaurant itself is just so small though.
L. E.
Great Ramen in Melbourne CBD. Expect a short wait most days for lunch.
A. H.
I really enjoyed the ramen people are really nice, the service is amazing you get seated fast, and the customer service is really good .
Also some nice lady that was seated at the table next to us was really nice and paid for our meal
m. L.
Was good for dinner. It is moderately delicious and suitable for eating.
S.
Not horrible ramen, but have had a lot better. The lettuce / onion in the ramen made for a different flavour / texture that I'm used to. Probably better trying the venues around Russell Street
f. a.
My favourite ramen shop from ages ago. Shop is small so you feel like you are in japan. Price and stuff are friendly. They have vegetarian ramen and vegan ramen!! And gyoza!! Everyone must try this one! They are the best gyoza in the melbourne.
Y. M.
Love this place! It's quite small but the ramen is great with fantastic bases that one could choose! Especially recommend the traditional pork broth with soya.
T. K. (.
Staff were very pleasant. Noodles were average taste, I ate Spicy noodles(minced pork were smelly). I am trying Soy sauce taste next time.
B. B.
Truly delicious ramen, with some yummy other items - recommend the gyoza - as entrees. Fundamentally, it's all about the ramen. Good Vegetarian options.
C. C.
The place is small but authentic, if there is queue is usually very fast and the wait is well repaid, I always go with classic Ramen which is excellent.
M. B.
The ramen is delicious. If you're extra hungry, I definitely suggest getting the Godzilla sized ramen. Whatever you don't finish you can take away.
R. Y.
The spicy miso ramen is okay ish. Wouldn’t say it’s the best ramen shop though. If the food only worth 3 stars I would add one more for their service.
T. W.
The dining tables were the size of something you see at a daycare center. Food was amazing otherwise.
J. E.
Loved my Ramen! It was quite cramped but that just makes you feel like you have been transported to Tokyo. Very authentic experience!
S.
One of the few actual Japanese ramen shops in the CBD. Food is good and staff are friendly. Can be a line sometimes during lunch hour but turn around is pretty quick. .
I. C.
Average food: the tonkotsu isn't very tasty, but the spicy ramen bowls are alright. The gyoza comes all stuck together. The only reason to come here is for the 2 Sapporos for $10.
