One of the most delicious and amazing Korean restaurant I’ve been to!! Exceptional service, very friendly staff. They came to us several times asking if everything was okay and if we needed more side dishes. Great atmosphere, great food. Variety of side dishes. I really enjoyed the food here. The Korean bbq restaurant with a huge line outside. The big question is, is it worth it? They don’t accept bookings but instead have a 1.5 hr limit to rotate through customers. Well… they do it because they genuinely are that good.. the food quality is absolutely on point. The absolute go to is their superb wagyu scotch fillet- the tenderness and juiciness is bomb.

Food quality is really good, a lot of people waiting in line for the kbbq but this place is understaffed which means it can be a little hectic. The meats are very good quality and the cuts of beef was very tender. The pork when cooked was crispy and juicy. The side dishes were highlights as they are flavourful and very much reminds me of Korea. The drinks are also excellent with a very fun korean twist and can go down very easily given the alcohol content! Service on the other hand is very hectic as the place is filled with patrons. The servers have to serve and also cut the meats after they are cooked. Given the workload it's easy to see how they can be overwhelmed sometimes. I would recommend this place if you don't mind waiting an hour and you enjoy kbbq in the city. I would go back again.

The meat were juicy, tender and mouth-watering, no complaint at all - you'll definitely get a premium experience here. The service was efficient and outstanding - they refilled our banchans (side dishes) almost every now and then (and they are free too!) and helped with our cooking too, incredible service. As you all know, one of the best Korean places in Melbourne with no bookings but waiting in line for 1.5 hours to get a table. We got there at 4:50 pm and got in in the first run. 40 odd people waiting already out front. There is a 90 min limit per table. You can get meat with different marbling here hence the price differences. We went for the Happiness Set with 4 different kinds of meat, Mandu, KimchiPancake, some Soju and beer. The portion size of the BBQ meat could have been a bit bigger for the money you pay. Maybe go with individual meat if you want quantity (~200g). I was also expecting the makgeolli (excuse my spelling if wrong) to be served in a traditional pot considering the reputation of the place. Some of the staff was very nice and attentive!

Stumbled upon Mansae after an event held nearby. I could smell it from across the street, and my husband came and met me for a late dinner. Every dish was amazing (all the meat was delicious, recommended a combo plate), and I highly recommend the tteokkochi. It had a perfect crunch on the outside, soft inside, and a delicious sauce. All the sides were excellent and refilled as needed. Sauces complimented the meats perfectly, too. Can’t wait to go back!

The Thursday make up late birthday dinner from the bad Tuesday birthday dinner. This place was happened to be the right choice for the midweek Melbourne Money😃. I read the some high scored Korean restaurants and checked the true reviews carefully this time. I love the no booking system and just queue on the line. The customer service is excellent. All staff is attentive and very kind to cook for us the top quality marble beef☺️ Scotch fillet was the most tender and excellent taste. The fresh pork belly was cooked perfect😋 The side dishes were also delicious. It wasn't overly hot or vinegary and even I am not Kimchi fun, I enjoyed having all of them. The red Kimchi had some sweetness with the seasoning. Korean pasta had sultana & sweet corn in it and very mild mayo seasoning. $90 for the set menu for 2 and my son was enjoying cheesy corn dish with 2 mixed rice while I was enjoying awesome beef rice noodles🍜 Before get to cook the bottom dish of BBQ set menu, we had quite full tummy😋 The half of customers were Korean and I would say this restaurant is authentic quality genuine Korean cuisine. No bookings here, just line up and wait until it's your turn. It's a pretty popular place so you might be waiting for a while but it's definitely worth it. They have a great selection of meats to BBQ. The staff are always happy to top up your sides for free. Plus side to Mansae is that they use charcoal grills for that nice smokey flavour.

Fantastic restaurant. If going just two people, highly recommend the Happiness or You & Me sets. A bit on the pricey side for what you get, but the quality and service is probably one of the best I have experienced.The Korean corn cheese is also a must get. I must add that getting more lettuce for your meal costs extra, but the quality is great and crispy, perfect for laying your meat in. This place only loses 1 star because the bathrooms are located outside of the venue, and is not a reflection of the service/food.

We came here Saturday night, and though the wait was veeeery long, it was undoubtedly worth it. We ordered the BBQ premium set for 4 along with the seafood food pancake & cheesy corn. The service & prep for customers is very impressive, unlike typical K-bbq, here they do all the grilling for you so the meats are not under/over done. They’re also very attentive. What stood out was the quality of the meats, and how tender and tasty they all were. The wagyu fillets particularly, were amazing (just check out that marble on the fillets!). The accompanying sides provided were perfect (and also all refillable). Best k-bbq I’ve done for sure 🙌🏾

I loved the fried rice cakes and their Wagyu which I'm usually picky about because most places have WagyuxAngus meat which is more tougher than actual Wagyu but in Mansae, it's actually good. I waited for about an hour outside with my friends for a table of 3 during dinner time. It makes sense for them to not make bookings as there's always a long queue for the restaurant. The place could be bigger and well ventilated since there's a lot of people and smoke from the BBQ. The food was great but the atmosphere/ environment was overwhelmingly crowded and stuffy, but if you focus more on the food then definitely go for it.

Probably the best KBBQ I have found in Melbourne. It definitely has hype with a long line (I suggest getting there at 4.45 pm to avoid the long line starting at 5pm). The share platter is a good pick for a variety of food. We had the share platter plus three sides (seafood pancake/kimchi pancake/budae jiggae) and that was enough to feed six of us.

Initially we were turned off by the long queue, we inquired and were told it should be about 45mins, the advice wasn't wrong and we were seated in under 45mins. The staff was friendly and helpful. Excellent Korean BBQ in terms of food quality and service from staff. The fit out is no nonsense. You're there to eat good food, not soak up the atmosphere. Waiting in line is guaranteed as it's popular and they don't do bookings. Fairly pricey given the lack of pomp and circumstance. My friend and I spent roughly 60 each without drinks. But we pigged out. You go probably spend 40 per head and be v satisfied.

Came here with my bf and some friends. The food was okay, I've been to other kbbq places that have had more sides so if you're into having more sides with your meat then definitely don't come here. I will say that if you do come, don't come with a big group since it's on the smaller side. My lower rating is also because the service was horrible. I’ve been to many kbbq restaurants in Melbourne and I would say this one tops them all. Went on Saturday and started queuing at 4.45pm. There was already a long line when we got there. The service is fantastic - they have the table set up with side dishes (spring onion salad, sweet potato, pasta salad, braised tofu and kimchi) when you’re seated down. The wagyu meats were all amazing and the sauces were delicious. Of course being a kbbq the restaurant was very “smokey” and our clothes smelled afterwards. But it was so worth the experience. We ordered so much food (again) and ate everything because wow the food was just so good. I highly recommend.

It was like being teleported to Seoul. BBQ set menu for 2 will impress. Good selection of meats with portions big enough to satisfy regular folks. Big units and protein lovers will need more. Staff are very attentive to ensure you don't burn your bbq. They serve great kimchi. Yes it's a bottomless serving, so long as you finish it each time. I would have liked cook the Budae Jjigae on the table but the stew came pre-prepared.

My go to place for Korean BBQ! There is usually a wait for a table, but it's so worth it. Meat for bbq always is fresh and tasty. The staff are also great at making sure it gets cooked properly. Unlimited banchan and lettuce wraps is a massive plus for this place. Highly recommend the ox tongue and pork jowl for bbq and yukhoe on the side.

It was my first time me and my partner had been to Mansae Korean BBQ & Bar on a Wednesday night and all I can say was that it was great! We had chosen the Happiness Meat Set for 2 ppl as well as the Tteokbokki and Kimchi Jigae which filled us up perrrfectly. The set was prices at $85 which was definitely worth it for the amount of meat dishes you get. The service was so good! A staff member would come at least every minute or less to help cook the meat and get what we need. They were all so friendly as soon as we finished our meat dish, they were already putting on the next so we were never waiting for our food. Everything was cooked to perfection and the sides were served in good portions. Very pleased with my first visit and it wouldn’t be my last! Thank you to all the staff for always being on top of it and making it a delightful experience 😊

A popular kbbq located in the cbd. The service was great, very attentive and friendly. What makes Mansae unique are the variety of high quality wagyu cuts. The cold buck wheat noodles were amazing, being able to add your own mustard and vinegar level is great. The only down side is that they do not use charcoal BBQs so that smokey flavour is missing.

Amazing Korean BBQ I've never had before. Arrived 15 minutes earlier before opening. There was a long queue soon after. Staff also very nice. They did the BBQ for every table even it was very crowded, which really impressed me cuz normally we can't grill wagyu appropriately. This was my first time to taste raw beef (named Yukhoe Beef Tartare). That's really good. Said “best enjoy with squeeze of lemon juice, cucumber and Korean nashi pear”. There was a raw egg on top as well. Just mix all of them before serving.

A great korean bbq that offers a wide range of wagyu cuts and other meats. The fried rice cakes with the mansae signature sweet chilli sauce is great here. Sticky, sweet and paired with the crisp rice cakes. We did love how the sides and sauces were refillable and the staff were very friendly, having flipped and cooked the meat for us. The wagyu Short rib mb9+ and wagyu oyster blade was so tender and juicy with the best marbling which was smoothe and juicy. The scotch fillet mb 9+ was quite an experience. The wagyu was as marbled that with each bite the juicy and buttery goodness would ooze out of the meat. Tender and loaded with so much flavour. Yangneoum Galbo was the only marinated meat we ordered. The chefs special sauce is marinated for 48hrs and has a buttery and well flavoured. The texture is quite textured compared to the others. If you're after an alcoholic drink and looking for something sweet, I'd recommend the peach rice wine punch, sweet with blended peach and a great drink with kbbq.

SOOO GOOD! A lot of Korean barbecue advertise their wagyu beef sets and it's usually good or ok. But let me tell you, the wagyu beef here at Mansae is on another level. The meat is 10000% high quality wagyu that is so soft and tender, it almost melts in your mouth! Also if you're stopping by, don't be shy with the kimchi, it is absolutely delicious. Hands down one of the best Korean barbecue joints in Melbourne. We will be back!

Truly without a doubt one of the better KBBQ I've been to. Let's get into it: Service despite being outside was exceptional. Staffs were super attentive, and realised our needs as of they read our minds. The meat was quality and you can tell it was quality. We bought the happiness set, and was extremely delighted. I would suggest that they have two complimentary rice with the set - you have to add on. We also got the fried tteokbokki, albeit too sweet to our liking. The cold noodles was a blessing, came with two sauce bottles, but no sauce was needed. It was exceptional. One downside is that it's walk in only and if you wanted to dine in, and you weren't there during opening - expect to wait in line. Fortunately for us, being outside was a bonus. No stuffiness, no smoke in your face. Great breeze with fresh air. If you come here, I highly recommend the happiness set, if more than 2 people, than there's other sets to reflect that. Generally speaking, we've come to see that KBBQ is about $50~ odd per head. So I'd say this is a bit more on the expenny side, roughly $70 per head. I would definitely come again. We had a group greater than 7 ppl so was relegated their set menu (approx $55pp I was told). Expected a typical std kbbq, but was blown away by the quality, the quantity of beef marbled Wagyu. The sides were also plentiful and delicious. Stars given are always a balance between taste, service and value for money. Ambience is always a bonus, but never seriously thought I'd be handing out a 5 star for a kbbq. Has been observing long queues for this BBQ establishment. Gave it a shot in this rainy day and almost no queue. It was not as nice as other suburban Korean BBQs like Richmond, Glen Waverley, Knox, Glen Iris. The highlight of that night was the unlimited Sweet Potato (how I wish all Korean BBQ offers this) 😋 and very thick lard. Cleanliness of the place was not up to my standard, sticky table and utensils, and even outdoor, our clothes were covered with BBQ smoke. Apart from that, it was pretty acceptable.

If you are planning to go with kids or a large group of over 10, I would not recommend this place. We had a group of 14, four of which is under five years old. We were asked to wait outside and order while we got the table ready, after about 10 mins we had chosen what we wanted and went to see if we could be seated. The server was quite rude as she was checking all the food we ordered and said you need to order more as we have two burners. (At least tell us that the start there was a minimum to order), so once again we had to decide what else we can order, while waiting outside. I was curious in to why we were not seated and allowed to sit inside where it was much warmer (especially with kids) to complete our order. There was a table was ready, nothing was being set up. Obviously not a great start, as when we finally got seated we had to ask for high chair twice before getting it, and we did ask for the high chair right at the start. So what were they 'setting up the table for us' really meant? Notwithstanding the issues at the start, the food was great, other servers at the venue was attentive and gave us a great service. If not marred by the first interaction from the rude server not giving us the right information and making us wait for a table in which we could see was already set up, I would of given a higher star rating.

But just beware that the portion of the food is not enough for 4 people so you might need to order some other appetizer or hotpot. For the appetizer I would suggest the Tteokkochi. Booked this for a party of seven. Parking an issue. Food was tasty and well done but not special. Service was a bit strange as communication seemed awkward and difficult in the background noise. Lost a.point for toilets located outside in next building complex. Value ok

Delicious korean bbq, place is very busy but service is lovely and fast. The waiters will help you cook the meat to perfection and tell you when it is ready. We had to wait an hour for our table but it is definitely worth the wait. Will make booking in advance for our next visit.

Probably the best KBBQ in Melb!! I was surprised by how tender the meat was. The beef melted in my mouth and it was so well seasoned. This was my first time trying to beef tartare but it was so good, I didn’t feel a taste any blood so I’m pretty sure I will try it again. The kimchi pancake is crunchy and not so oily. I love the corn cheese so cheesy, definitely gotta come back here again. But keep in mind the long queue because you might have to wait for about 30 to 40 minutes for a table since they don’t take booking.
