Came here for a quick bite before a show at the convention Centre. Service was quick and burgers came out quick. I had the OZ burger with a Schooner of beer and my son had the kids burger meal. The kids meal was good value at $8 and came with fries and a drink. My burger tasted good however the price of a Schooner of Carlton draught was $9 which was a bit steep but given the location I guess you can't complain too much.

Great place and reasonable burger. We used to like it more but recently it became overpriced and they remove the free chips promotion :-( the bread is good, great patty, cooked at perfection. The burger is good tho and we rank at the top of our list of best Burgers in Melbourne. The service is very competent and quick. Definitely a place to visit if you like a good burger! Great burger joint, has been in Melbourne longer than I have. We had the Oz burger which was delicious with a large slice of beetroot and 2 slices of pineapple. We also had the kids burger meal which was a great size, a serving of onion rings and fries and a salted caramel shake. The shake was delicious had a butterry caramel taste.

I was apprhensive coming to Merrywell. I went to their Perth restaurant and had such a bad experience with their Mexican inspired burger at an exhorbitant price that I was convinced that I would never eat here again. However, I always give a restaurant a second chance. And as always, Melbourne’s Merrywell saved it’s name. Based on the banks of the Yarra, Merrywell is across from the iconic Melbourne Exhibition Building and along the Crown Promenade. This is also a fantastic spot for a bit of people watching whilst you wait for your company to arrive. The Creation consisted of Beef Patty, Buttermilk Battered Chicken, Bacon, American Cheese, Pickles, Habanero Mayonnaise, Kethcup and Mustard. Oh my Gawd. This thing was huge! And to top it off, the flavours were out of this world. The Habanero mayo was a definite subtle hit to the palette but the Buttermilk Battered Chicken breast was the winning item in this burger. Or perhaps it was the crunchy bacon…. wait, no, it was the succulent beef patty that mixed in well with the American cheese. Goodness, I think I am drooling again…and I heard my stomach rumble. The Merrywell 2.0 consisted of Beef Patty, Bacon, Grilled Onine, American Cheeese, Lettuce, Fresh Tomato, Pickles, Special Sauce, Ketchup, Mustard. Note, I had tomato in mine. This was a delightful and playful entry that hits the hunger spot when you need it most. The fresh tomatoes added an extra level of juciness to this already amazing burger. I wasn’t too sold on the grilled onion but I enjoyed that it didn’t overpower the meal. Salted Caramel Milkshake. One word – Yum. Second Word: Why?! Light, fluffy and scrumptious the thing that made this drink was the fact that I could feel the diabetes pouring out of my eyes. I think I should have walked home from the city and perhaps it would have made a dent into the calories I consumed in this one drink. I wonder if I don’t eat for a week if that will do…maybe I will just try it for the weekend instead. The fries are not worth it here but the onion rings on the side – YES. This was a little pricey but given that we were sharing our meals, we didn’t break the bank too much. All in all, it worked out to around $30 each. The interior had the lovely vintage lights that I adore and they won me over. The upstairs was a separate venue and perhaps one that I could visit another time. With this being summer, the interiors were cool and comfortable whilst still being able to enjoy the hustle and bustle of the street outside. Plus, the music catered to everyone in our party so each of us were bopping along… almost like a mini game of whack-a-mole. Their service was on point. And for the price point, this is exactly what I would expect. Not a single thing was out of place. The shakes all arrived early and before the meals and the burgers came out in one hit. Good burguers, we enjoyed them. However I must say that aren't probably the best. We had the Merrywell 2.0 and the chicken burguer. Fries are prettt good however. We had a milkshake which it was ok. I would come back for a quick bite. This time we ate at ground floor. Second level is good for tapas and drinks. Service ok. Staff friendly

In my opinion, they have the best soft corn ice cream. Crispy corn and the combination favor of milk and vanilla are really brilliant. 5/5 The burger is juicy but a little too greasy for me, as I prefer less salt and oil meal.4/5

The stuff is really nice and respectful. The deserts are delicious. Noel, one of the bartenders, was really nice and when I didn't like my wine he just let me taste different wines so I could get a better one and switch the one I had to the one I liked with no extra charge. Definitely worth to check out, if you want some great service.

After hearing much hype about the burgers at the Merrywell I had to try it out. Unfortunately I was quite disappointed, the burgers tasted so so (my meat patty was actually still a little raw..) and wasn't really anything special and quite over priced. I also ordered a side of the onion rings, once again nothing spectacular. The menu that they have downstairs doesn't really tell you that you get just get normal drinks (instead they promote smoothies and milkshakes). The burgers came out within 15 minutes after ordering drinks a little slower.

Great location and good burgers. Unfortunately it was very understaffed so getting a drink or ordering you food took ages. However, when the food was eventually ordered it came out reasonably quick. What to do when you first arrive is confusing and there's nothing to instruct you on how you go about seating and ordering. The queue for ordering went out the door and we thought this was a queue for waiting to be seated. Quite a few others didn't realise this either so they had their order taken but nowhere to sit. There needs to be someone going around cleaning the tables with how quickly they turn over too. All in all we were happy though

If you want cheaper food than head to the food court at Crown. However if you want fancy and cool- and cash is not a thing, than this place is worth checking out.

I've been to Merrywell a couple of times before, and they didn't disappoint. This past weekend however, I'd say they missed their mark. I had the Double Up and my partner had the Super Chicken. The double was dripping like there was no tomorrow, but otherwise decent. The super chicken on the other hand was crispy to the point of being quite dry and entirely tasteless. In the end, the chicken patty was set aside and me and my partner shared the beef patties. In short, don't expect too much and you'll not be too disappointed. For the prices Merrywell commands, I'd recommend looking elsewhere for equally priced and better burgers.

Positioned on the banks of the Yarra. The Merrywell offers great pub food as well as a great selection of beers, wines and cocktails. The signature Merrywell burgers was fantastic and a great cure for too many drinks.

We went to the Home Show and food offerings were woeful in selection and price. So let's cross the road and we ventured in to Merrywell. The burgers were larger and flavours were great. BUT! Too bad the prices were a little over the top. For $18.00 all I get is the burger. No chips, no salad, nothing. It will make me think twice to go again. Especially, all we had to do is walk maybe 30 mt. to the casino food hall. But, it was a nice burger which better than Home Show offerings.

My food came quickly, the staff were very nice and the place was clean. I got there right when it opened at 12pm and didn't have to wait but a few minutes for my burger. The burger was very tasty, although it was a bit on the small side. I like my meat medium rare and this was cooked to perfection . The only drawback for me was the music was way too loud. I dined by myself but it would have been hard to have a conversation as the music was a bit overpowering.

The location was lovely, I held a dinner for my 21st birthday on the west terrace and it was stunning! The food was amazing, we all left with full tummys, even the picky eaters, and they catered beautifully to my vegan and vegetarian friends. Its a little bit pricey but can't fault the quality of the food. Its a burger so don't expect 5 star cuisine. The chips and Onion Rings have always been hot and fresh and the shakes are pretty good just a bit to much cream for my liking. Staff are friendly and professional no real complaints.

Downstairs is pretty good, standard good burgers albeit a little overpriced. Upstairs is an amazing room, with an beautiful outdoor area, which would be quite nice for after work drink, especially with happy hours. The food upstairs was good, but not worth the money, the burgers came out basically well done when they had been ordered medium rare, the ribs were tender and spicy but the meat wasn't overly flavoured. I ordered the Caeser Salad with chicken, which came out kinda deconstructed, not so much 'bacon' (more like prosciutto) and barely any anchovies. The meat selection might be better here than anything else. A good venue for a drink or snack but not going to be rushing back for the food. On a side note, the staff were 95% of the time quite good, polite and attentive, other than one waiter who looked like he had never smiled.

Was looking forward to the 'best burger in Melbourne' here but what I got was pretty average. The burger itself wasn't particular big and had way to much juice/sauce in it which exploded on to the plate when I picked it up initially. Service was good but I felt the waiter was too keen to take plates and kept coming over too often (I'm aware this is a personal preference that differs from person to person though so it obviously works for some.). Wouldn't recommend this place over some of the other burger places I've been to but it certainly isn't the worst burger either!

Merrywell apparently has the best burgers in Melbourne so had to try it at least once seeing that we lived 5 minutes away from the place. Wife had the Merrywell and I had a vego Red Eye burger with a fries and onion rings combo. The burgers were decent tasting, a decent size and not to overly huge which was good. They tasted like normal burgers so not sure how they're defined the best in Melbourne. Did I enjoy my meal? Yes. Would I come back after trying it once? Probably not. On the upside, fries were crispy and onion rings were freshly made so there wasn't none of that frozen crap. All the burgers on the menu can be replaced with a vego patty so vegetarians have wide variety to choose from. Not sure if their sauces are vegan or not because they taste pretty creamy. All in all, enjoyable experience but nothing spectacular.

Have dined here on a number of occasions. Had dinner here last night and was disappointed with the food. We started with the mini burgers and these were fabulous as always however our mains were a let down. I had Roast Pork Belly and while the pork was moist and juicy there was no crackle. What should have been lovely crackle was just chewy skin that I couldn't eat. My husbands Roasted Snapper was extremely dry. The one shining light was our server, Meagan. She was attentive and always smiling.

Downstairs was a bit of a bummer but upstairs somewhat made up for it. When ordering food, the staff seemed very confused who should be taking my order. The person at the counter was facing the other way with two other girls staring wondering if she'd turn around or if they would have to do it. The girl at the bar to the left signaled for one of the girls to step in before doing so and the girl facing the other way ends up serving food. The food is alright but that's about it and the shakes are expensive but are nice and thick. Upstairs was cool as the drinks prepared were well made and the vibe of the place pretty cool. Probably would eat elsewhere but would go upstairs again though.

This was the first place I could find a Poutine (French Canadian food: French Fries/Chips, Curd Cheese, and Chicken/Veal based gravy). It wasn't a traditional poutine: having very thick chips, using little mozarella & gravy, and including lettuce among the chips. That said, the food was well prepared and good for what it was. The price was reasonable and the portion relatively generous. The service was curt and rushed. Water was not provided until asked for, and having the glasses refilled was a hassle since we had to flag down the staff. Quite a pretty restaurant.

The Merrywell burger is award winning and you can tell why. The pattie is chunky and juice with loads of flavour. I've had it a couple of times and it always works best with a nice pint of Beez Neez. My only gripe is that the burger used to arrive a paper bag that would help stop the sauce going everywhere. Apart from that it's a great burger even for the steep price.

Went to Merry well crown had the chicken wings. Please can someone tell the chef not to drown them in that aweful sauce. Not everyone loves sauce. The wings would have been great with the dredging in that sauce all sauces in a side remi would allow the diner to choose. It's ok. No table service downstairs. We had to go to different desks to order food then drinks. No big tables so our group of 8 were split on 2 tables. That wouldn't have been an issue except staff didn't know what meals they were bringing out and that became a shambles as burgers and drinks got given to (and eaten by) the wrong people several times.
