Great customer service, followed by a pretty standard pub meal. No complaints there. Could have used some music for ambience, and prices were just a tad steep, but overall would return, a good lunch.

We had a lovely couple of drinks out on the front deck in the sunset. Then moved to the historic restaurant inside for a house made lamb pizza which was really good. There’s a beautiful big oak tree out the back in the beer garden.

Went here for a quite dinner with my family. The restaurant was lovely and food was amazing and fresh. Good portions too. Just to inform you they have a 15% surcharge on weekends and public holidays. Toilets needed a good clean and more paper towels. But will definitely visit again.

This venue has such potential. It was staffed by teenagers who were friendly enough but there didn't seem to be any mature team leaders. There was no bottled wine list and in our group there was a $10 difference in the price charged for the same wine. Could be cleaner, the windows were grimy. It was very cold and would have been more comfy if the open fire had been lit in our designated area.

Visited the Hotel on Saturday afternoon and couldn't believe how great this little gem is. Beautifully set out, fantastic vibe and feel in the Mountain Bar. Staff were just fabulous and friendly and dealt with the rush hour brilliantly. Coming back ASAP!!!

Went here a few days ago for a meal because previously its been pretty good. I think they changed chef because the fish and chips were not very tasty . Everything has this weird seasoning on it that doesnt provide any benefit to the dish. The side salad was also bland and had no dressing.

Been here few times after our hike from Mt Towrong and surrounds. Love their pizza selections esp the wild mushroom or even just the garlic pizza. Their selection of some local craft beers are the one i like most about. This place is always busy, in it’s busiest we decided to just cancel one order. My only complain is, the eftpos refund didn’t get credit back. But hey?! They were soooo busy that time. Lesson learned, don’t get credit back esp if you’re not local. Price wise, a bit expensive but the location comes with it. Happy to be back when we’re around.

The Mount Macedon hotel has a lovely relaxed atmosphere and the staff are always really helpful when I have been. There is a lovely beer garden out the back if you want to have a big group and a nice deck that looks out over the beer garden. There is a nice variety of food and drinks to choose from.

Love this pub so much. Great beer and wine selection. The Olde Worldy front bar is great and the beer garden or the back in summer is the best place to be on a balmy afternoon. Great for kids too as there is loads of space for them to run around. The food is nothing fancy but it's tasty pub grub.

Very nice place. Love the country pub style, the wood, the carpet, the friendliness of the staff and the quality of food. I was served by this guy with a ginger mustache, he was so funny, friendly and serviceable and very handsome too! I'm definitely recommending this place as a must stop if you are in the area.

It's been a while since I was here last, not the hotels fault, just life being busy. Dropped in for lunch mid week, the service was good, the meal was huge and very well cooked and presented. The atmosphere was quiet as to be expected at that time of day, but judging by the crowds I have seen the place is pretty popular. We will be back when opportunity strikes again.

All the stars are for the beer selection. Over the last few years they’ve really picked up their craft brew game. Always a decent range of styles. It’s a bit pricey but the location is great. Outside on the deck in summer; inside by the fire in winter.

One of the best regional pubs in Victoria. Lots of room to sit out the front on the deck and plenty more room out the back in the Beer garden. Dog friendly too which is always a bonus. Have a large selection of tap beer, although the fridge always seems to be empty. Only does pizza in the afternoon, contrary to what the menu says. Pizza was tasty though. Inside is a bit dated, but still nice.

In the beautiful Macedon ranges, you can't fault the surroundings or the history of the venue. Unfortunately my visit was over the Easter break & it was crazy busy. Being an ol venue I would think they would anticipate this in advance... not. The kitchen was so overwhelmed they closed service for 2 hours during peak lunch time service, upon reopening only serving pizzas. What I saw other diners being served looked good & pizzas were nice. Just a little to chaotic & disappointing that food was limited. Not what you expect at a hotel & during lunchtime service. Worth a second chance & hope to have menu choices next time.

Mount Macedon Hotel was nothing short of 5 + stars. The food was nothing short of exceptional, especially the Pizza's. The staff were very kind and very hospitable. The prices for food were reasonable as I don't mind paying for something that is worth every sent, and as tastety as their food. Great atmosphere, beautiful surroundings, even seen a AFL footy player and a model, just to add to the great scenery. Will definitely be back. Have been back several times since this review and have never been let down with their top notch service. From the food right down to all the staff. We made a group booking of 18 people and they moved heaven and earth to make our experience a good one and all 18 of us were exceptionally happy with everything. Keep up the good work. 😀

Wow that was an awesome experience. Truly old fashion perfect hospitality. We ordered 2 pints of amazing stouts and a pizza. Due to some glitch in a system our pizza was delayed. The owner did come and apologised himself and offered us a round of drinks as a compensation. I didn't even realised he did till we paid a bill. Most amazing Staff and super friendly owner and amazing atmosphere with life music. Beautiful outside area. No dogs on restaurant deck unfortunately but the area in front of deck is dog friendly so this is ok. There is also the wheelchair entry. Just awesome venue full of old English character. Thank you

Family dinner mid-week and we enjoyed a warm welcome, friendly service and a quiet table in traditional pub surrounds. Our drinks and food order was taken without delay and all delivered promptly. The restaurant was half full and had a lovely vibe. Food was very tasty (chicken curry, southern fried drummettes and Edamame beans). The open fire in the formal dining room was wonderful on a very chilly winter evening.

This is a lovely hotel with a little old world charm. On a cold night, having dinner in front of the fire it's very pleasant and cosy. The rooms are very basic but adequate. The location is spectacular and I love waking up here and having breakfast or morning coffee out the front deck. I found the service to be good.

Last weekend we had our daughters 18th birthday family lunch for 30 people at the Mt Macedon Hotel. It was fantastic. We order the magnificent pizzas and had booked the area out back. The manager of the day Rhymney looked after us like a treat. We had a number of guests from Melbourne etc who were blown away by the hotel and surrounding area. So thank you Rhymney and staff for helping make the day special for my daughter and family.
