Amazing ambience, diligent and friendly staff and good food. The calamari burger was awesome. The portion of wagyu beef was a bit heavy in the set menu.Loved the mango dessert, lovely textures and taste.Thankyou for making our anniversary lunch memorable.

I had on this place on my bday and Oh, My boyfriend couldn’t had chosen better!!
The environment is cool and relaxed, but with a really nice menu.
We had the taste menu and we can’t decide which dish was our favourite or which we loved least. Everything was tasty and delicious, from entrees to dessert, incredible experience!
Definitely the anchovy and tomato sorbet was surprising!
The only thing we the waitress, she couldn’t understand what we were asking for, but we hadn’t problems with that.
Must must must try!
R. A.
We picked the feed me, which was pricer than others but the food was delicious. Special shout out to the beetroot honey and cheese dish, wow! While the food came out fast the table booking times are so tight they got dessert out with ten mins to go. And needed us to leave on time so not ideal. Service wasn’t perfect either - left us at the table without water/drink and had to flag them down, they weren’t scanning the room so it took a while to be noticed when we needed to order things.

My bf’s friend told us to try out this place as the food here was phenomenal he said, so we gave it a try. We booked it for our ✨ Saturday Date Night ✨ and OMG the dishes were mindblowing! 🤯
We started with some Fresh Oysters, this was my first time trying it (idk why I never had one before), I’m now in love! 🦪😍 The freshness of the oyster was prominent, loved the taste of the ocean that people generally dislike and the texture was great as well.
Then, we also had their quail dish 🐥 which was wrapped in brik pastry served with labneh, pine nuts and saffron apricots. Easily one of the most interesting and amazing flavor combination I’ve ever tasted! Every item worked perfectly with each other 😍
Our mains were the braised beef cheek and scallop ceviche. The braised beef cheek 🥩 was the dish that my bf’s friend recommended. The beef fell apart so easily with just a slight touch of the fork, the cauliflower puree was so light and creamy, it was as soft as a cloud!
The scallop ceviche was the winner for me 🏆
This is the dish that I will definitely order again when I revisit this restaurant. I was always interested in how heirloom tomatoes tasted, now I know that they’re so sweet and juicy. The scallops themselves were perfectly fresh, combined with the dressing, everything was oh so perfect 🥰
Overall, it’s quite an incredible experience to dine at this place. I 100% recommend the quail dish and scallop ceviche as they’re now my favorite! ✨

The food was absolutely delicious. Fresh and perfectly cooked mussels, tender and tasty calamari. Exquisite tuna tartare and the silkiest, softest churros I've ever had. Watching the people in the kitchen was like watching a beautifully choreographed dance. Almost Impecable service, bar for the food server who could just take a bit more time and place the plates carefully on the table rather than letting them go when they are close to the surface. I'll be back!
P. L.
Food was delicious. Found the Yabbies not worth it. Taste was great, but after scooping the flesh out of the shell I had 3 forkfuls of meat for $38.
Staff were on the ball and the other dishes were fantastic. Beef cheek was just epic.
S.
Truly enjoyed the small plates here. Can’t wait to head back soon!

We had a great night for our anniversary dinner at MoVida Aqui. The atmosphere was great with the open kitchen and bar and the view over the courtyard. Then when the food came out our night just got even better. We had the lamb loin and the moonfish and oh my goodness... They were both amazingly beautiful dishes. The churros were the best I've had thus far. The service was great. Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a really special dinner.

Wow! I'm always a but wary of tapas restaurants because I often end up hungry with an empty wallet. Movida isn't cheap by any means but we opted for the $80 set menu and I have to say it was definitely good value! The tapas was closer to 'fine dining', and there was plenty of food. I absolutely loved the creme caramel dessert, it had a mind-blowing texture and wasn't too sweet. Would go back in a heartbeat.
A. B.
Hubby and I really enjoyed our visit to Movida Aqui. It had a great vibe and service was fantastic. I absolutely loved the flor and bomba tapas dishes as well as the beef cheek dish. Will definitely visit again on our next trip to Melbourne!
B. G.
Absolutely stunning food and very good service. I wish I had eaten more dishes but the ones I tried were perfectly executed with great flavours. The ingredients are obviously very good quality too!
J. A.
We've been here a lot in the past, ordered them via Providoor during lockdown, and will continue to come here because the food is always outstanding. The friendly service and great cocktails is a bonus.
G. S.
So nice to have a great meal with fantastic service staff. I highly recommend Movida if you want a good meal out. Oh, they were super FODMAP friendly.
R. D.
Having worked in Spain several times and vacationed there too on occasion, my fist impression of this tapas bar was great.
This is no tapas bar (which are tiny in Spain), this is a full fledged restaurant that serves tapas - it’s a big place indeed. Full of happy loud customers - just like in Spain.
Book in advance for sure if going on a weekend.
Good selection of food, tasty bites and good presentation.
The staff will inform you politely as you make the order about portion size, preparation and wine selection.
Was impressed with the service quality, fast and fervent.
In Spain, the tapas portions are a bit larger and pricing is dependent on the restaurant’s calibre. This pricing here seems to be justified and the customers seem to be happy to pay for it again and again.
C. T.
OK spanish food with some of the food is hit or missed. Grilled food are some too burnt to eat. They have duck paella which we dont see it very often. Wide range of food available with friendly staff. There's inside or outside seating area which is good for spring and summer.
S. Y.
Food was absolutely delicious. Beef cheeks, figs on puff pastry and squid ink paella were the highlights. Desserts were average. Service was friendly and attentive. We had 2 bottles of Temperanillo. Reservations needed. Come early.
O. K.
The first one followed by two more Establishment by the same name and team, Movida Aqui is all about good times. There's a reason why it falls under 5 best Restaurants category in Melbourne.
It's a place for celebrating life with good food under a vibrant decor and amazing music.
Cannot go wrong with it if you have chosen to celebrate a special occasion. Of course, it comes with a price, quite expensive but once in a while one should know to splurge.
We ordered glasses of Sangrias, 1 zucchini flower tapas (forgot the meat) and a King fish based Tapa and for mains ordered a slow cooked beef cheek
Amazing, Outstanding and Beautiful!!
Plenty of options to choose from for Vegans and Vegetarians
A Must
M. T.
Movida Aqui has always been my go to place for Spanish food. Great food as always, BUT the waitstaff serving us on my recent visit was a bit too attentive. It was on the edge of being annoying as she kept wanting to clear dishes when we were clearly not done eating. It was a weekday night and I doubt they had another seating after us. So it makes me wonder why she was in the hurry to clear our dishes so urgently...
J. C.
Food was really delicious. The Tapas were big on flavor and priced really well. The star of the night was the the Arroz Negro Braised cuttlefish & squid ink Bomba rice paella with Ali oli.
Pnice atmosphere which wasn't too loud. Great place to bring a date and eat some tasty tapas.
C. G.
Great variety of tastes - particularly enjoyed the kingfish tapas and the paella. Service by Cathy was of high calibre. She was informative with the menu, provided a thoughtful service, and was friendly and welcoming. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
R. S.
Came for lunch with colleagues - my compliments to the chef for unique and tasty vegan options. Plenty of jealous looks from the others at the table after seeing their creations. Appreciate the servers taking the time to explain the dish. Would definitely come again!
W. k. C.
Awesome squid-ink paella. Loved the clams, the asparagus and octopus. Will definitely go again.
M. T.
The staff were kind and the food was excellent. Lamb perfectly cooked with incredible flavour.
J. M.
Exceptional fresh and quality food in this Spanish establishment. The waiters were very attentive to my party of 12 and even came us the option to dine inside or out, which on a 30 degree night was lovely dining in the night air.
We were treated to about 10-12 meals off a $80 per person set menu. We didn't know what to expect as the restaurant prepares and changes the menu daily, and we were in for a real treat. We started with kingfish on a bed of seaweed, calamari pieces in a small bun roll and the sorbet on anchovy was a surprise hit with its unusually salty texture.
The centrepiece of the night was duck paella which was divine, the duck was tender and exquisitely cooked. Beef cheek followed but by this stage my party was so full from all the previous courses we barely ate it which was a shame as it was probably the next best dish.
We of course had room for the dessert which was exceptional, churros with a not-too-sweet chocolate dipping sauce was accompanied by a creme caramel flan which was a hit.
I highly recommend Movida - you'll be treated with excellent service and some of the best food in Melbourne!
M. K.
Many people have recommended this place to me and I never got a chance to go. Made it there the last trip and menu included a good selection of excellent tapas accompanied by quality wines.
Ambiance was very hip and made you feel happy. service was good too.
M.
Everything so perfect. Even tapas are enough potion more than other Spanish restaurants. Squid ink paella is wonderful.
W. N.
I love this place. When I lived in Melbourne I would come often. Having found myself in Melbourne for a visit, I could not resist coming for a visit again. A few light tapas and a tasty chocolatey porter had me nicely satiated.
F. C.
Great place to catch up with friends. Food was amazing service ok. Squid ink paella a highlight and the tempranillo red wine was a lovely complement. Flan for dessert a MUST! yum :)
M. G.
Spanish bar and tapas.... nice and friendly atmosphere. ... order tapas as a starter or have a combination of starters and share plate dishes... you won't be disappointed.
J. C.
Great wine selection and the food was fantastic. The anchovy was to die for. Thanks Christian for excellent service.
S. S.
Spanish joint with lip smacking bites and cool cocktails in the heart of Melbourne. Ample sitting space combined with friendly and quick service makes this an attractive place for the young and trendy. Noticed a Movida inside the Melbourne airport.
J. C.
Sheri was an amazing waitress. She suggested a delicious Spanish white wine that seemed to go with everything we ordered. She steered us towards very tasty dishes like sardine with tomato sorbet, beef cheek and (surprisingly) Brussel sprouts with pine nuts and pomegranate seeds. Wow!
L. K.
Amazing food, professional and friendly service, plus a diverse wine list. Great place.
A.
If you like Spanish tapas, Movita is a must visit in Melbourne. Absolutely delicious food!
C. M.
Delicious Spanish food, great atmosphere, friendly staff and trendy crowd. It's not cheap, but you're paying for quality.
L. L.
Food was lovely and service was warm and friendly
D. C.
Beautiful food! Just delivers everytime. Service is best in town.
V. W.
Nothing short of stunning - we came for our favourite Wagu Buey which was exemplary as always - delicate, perfectly portioned for its richness & full flavour, but tonight we also had the Lamb Tartar & were totally blown away by it. Be sure to order a serving of Anchoa & leave a little room for airy & crispy churros a cut above any others in Melbourne, with unexpectedly subtle & nuanced drinking chocolate to accompany. With friendly, attentive & knowledgeable staff, & brilliantly honed cuisine, MoVida Aqui never disappoints.
E. W.
Have been hesitant to attend fine dining venues whilst pregnant as I often can't eat many of the menu items. Attended a work dinner at MoVida Aqui last night with a fixed menu, and they were amazing! We had communicated my dietary requirements before attending, and they had not only planned immaculately for them, but both the floor and kitchen staff were very attentive and careful to always bring me special dishes when necessary. It was so lovely to be able to enjoy an incredible meal without any stress- I felt really looked after. Thanks to all the staff at MoVida Aqui! Couldn't recommend highly enough.
R. T.
Always a great spot for a business lunch. Spacious, great service and awesome food.
E.
"Comida maravillosa" means wonderful food. Movida restaurant itself, meanwhile, has a very cosy Mediterranean feel to it, with candles placed on every table illuminating and figurines and other knick-knacks adorning the walls. Brace your sell, the chef bring your lovely cooked meal out to you, "Gracia".
R. M.
One of the best places in Melbourne. Had many dietary requirements (Vegetarian Jain food) and they served so well!
Top class service. Most recommended.
A. D.
Amazing service, incredible food. A totally worthwhile dining experience. It's a little out of town (relatively speaking) and Google Maps didn't accurately show the location, but it was so worth it. Highly recommended. You need to book!
A. S.
Nice place to enjoy with friends, Some Drinks and delicious Spanish Tapas, nice decoration and friendly waiters.
K.
Amazing food, great service, fantastic venue and tasty drinks. Had a lovely dinner one again definetly a must try for top quailty classy food thats 10 out 10.
T. S.
Great restaurant, attentive staff, high quality food. Adapted degustation menu was fabulous
D. D.
Loved pretty much all the dishes but especially the anchovy and sorbet. Beef cheek and cauliflower puree. And chickpea and spinach. All 3 were delicious!
A. G.
Great food, good wines and friendly service.
It's a bit pricy and the tapas are not typically ‘’traditional‘’ (like the tapas you would find in a typical Spanish bar), however the result is great and the products are high quality.
g. v. d. b.
great place to meet with friends. staff are very knowledgeable on all the wines and food
R. R.
Cut above
Just love this place (and all the Movidas 😋)
b.
Never disappoints. Had the $70 set lunch which was great value. Probably ate around a dozen different dishes all of which were delicious. Couldn’t finish everything in the end. Best paella I’ve ever eaten. Love the relaxed atmosphere, especially in the outside beer garden area.
J.
Cracking place, great food, great service, be adventurous as its one of those places where nearly everything is delicious!
One star off as is a more simple interior than some of the finer dining and is quite expensive but well worth it. Great for a faster city lunch too... let the waiter pick your food!
Y. G.
Highly recommend this restaurant, all the staff i met were very friendly and helped me as much as they can (cuz i have no idea what to eat) food was awesome here, i love bomba and pez real most
J. C.
Great food and admirably warm and accommodating service for our large group dinner. Catered well to dietaries and requests. Also a lovely, spacious venue compared to others in the Movida family that are a bit cosier.
J. T.
Tried the tapas they served here and they're of superb quality! Such delicacy goes into ever serving. Flavours are unique and tasteful, textures are amazingly varied and each dish has such a great visual appeal!
Would honestly recommend to anyone!
T. M.
Great food definitely recommend going!
R. s.
Visited Movida with a group of 10 and went for the set menu at $55. The food was excellent, kicked off with bread - hot tip: wait till they bring out the jamon! And the food just kept coming, beef cheeks were melt in the mouth, brussel sprouts had a middle eastern touch with crunchy, sweet and sour with pomegranate molasses and labneh, what a party in the mouth!
A. T.
Great service, staff were very polite and friendly and made sure to go out of their way to serve a delicious alternative for one of my friends with allergies. The banquet was epic. Personal fav was the lamb tartare.
J. L.
Friendly staff, really good food. Spanish friend approved it, so you will have authentic.
A bit pricey though, and portion size is a tad small.
S. S.
Great night. Ate the black paella. What an experience. Highly recommend this establishment. No matter what you order it is yum yum yum
D. T.
Overall good food. Service of some individuals need some work. Or just having a bad day.
C. C.
Delicious selection and we felt full on $75pp spend between 6 people. Would recommend the zucchini flower and the spritz cocktail.
M. R.
I can't recommend this place enough.
Everything was flawless, from the wait staff, to the food. Wine was a little too dry for my palate but I was offered many wines too try to ensure I was happy with my final selection.
Next time I'm in Melbourne I will be sure to include a MoVida restaurant in my dining experience.
The entrance is a little difficult to locate so give yourself an extra few minutes just in case.
M.
Tried to make a booking for 19:00 but the only ones that were available was 18:00. However when we left at 20:15 there was about 25 empty tables so why couldn't we make a booking at 19:00 ???
The food & service was good but could have been better. Also had a jug of Sangria - was there any alcohol in it ??
R. S.
Table was good, slow service, some food was quite tasty, bit overpriced
M. E.
What a buzzing, great vibe! Busy place yet still had an intimacy even seated at the bar. Try the vegetarian banquet/set menu for $70; plate after plate of absolutely divine tapas.... those fried zucchini flowers, oh my goodness!! Loved it!
P. M.
We went to MoVida for celebration and really enjoyed the food and service. We were in 8 people and ordered the set menu. All plates were very tasty and had a great presentation. Our only feedback was that most plates (except for the last 2 and jamon) were seafood and we would have liked better if there was a better mix of meat types throughout the experience. We enjoyed and would return.
W. K.
We ate at the bar and had wonderful bar staff servicing us. It was a great atmosphere on a Saturday night and one of the busiest places in the otherwise quiet CBD. The food was wonderful also!
K. L. L.
Nice tapas in Melbourne bank area. Try it. Good tapas and nice wine list.
L. W. H.
A very nice place for delicious tapas. Good for groups
S. K.
One of my favorite restaurants, must try in melbourne
D. A.
Very nice Spanish food served in a contemporary setting. Staff are very attentive, which makes the overall experience enjoyable. The food is simple yet hits the spot taste wise. The dishes are served in a timely manner, which allows time to enjoy and taste each of them. Make sure you order the king prawns! Would definitely be back.
E. B.
Always great quality. Movida (any of them, although the original is the best 😉) is easily my favourite default restaurant in Melbourne.
Fantastic food that is always high quality, well prepared tasty and simple. Not too expensive, casual or posh as you like and always good service (the staff seem to enjoy their work).
Easy 5 stars...
N. D.
I've been to the original MoVida and thought we'd try this one. Food was not good at all. Couldn't finish some meals like the squid ink paella as it was just not nice. It's rare for us to go to a restaurant and share 3 mains and find that almost everything was not nice. The atmosphere is great and our service was not bad
S. B.
Food is delicious and the service is quality but it feels a bit empty, like there is something missing I can't put my finger on.
F. D.
Music too loud but food was great. Maybe I'm too old for doosh-doosh music at dinner.
The tapas was very good, the wine was great and the service excellent.
L. L.
Quieter and more relaxed atmosphere with the same great food as the original. We ate a range of the tapas with a glass of the sangria. Ingredients were so fresh and tasted great. Bit pricey but if you're splashing out it's worth the quality for the money.
N. C.
Thanks my friend took me here, really nice and delicious:)
C. L.
Very impressed by how accommodating all the staff were around my pregnancy. Mentioned it in passing when ordering drinks, and the rest was taken care of with great initiative - including modified dishes on the side for me so I could have some of the shared meals. Food was also delicious, of course.
D. B.
Gorgeous and creative dishes, beautifully sourced cured meats. Must try their award winning and signature Ortiz anchovie, with a gorgeous smoked tomato sorbet on delicious layers of goodness and rye cracker! 😍 Yum!
Service is hit and miss but the food makes up for it.
K. S.
Price but great customer experience
D. T.
Arrived on a Thursday night without a reservation and we were seated promptly at the bar. The atmosphere of the venue of bustling and vibrant. Sort of a fancy yet rustic cafeteria with pine coloured booths and metal stools.
We ordered anchovies and sorbet, not really knowing what it was but they were stellar! Savory, sweet and cold totally worked. Also for entree, we added the lamb skewers which was excellently prepared and tender.
For mains, we enjoyed the squid ink paella which was amazing. The texture of the rice, the freshness of the squid and topped with lemon made this dish really enjoyable.
All dishes were served perfectly and with great timing. Good value spot.
N. S.
Fantastic staff, extremely helpful and understanding of what we wanted, and attentive. Food was all incredible, even tried a couple of things I've never enjoyed in the past and loved every bite
S. M.
Erika and I had a fun anniversary dinner with our 6 month old. The food was amazing, Spanish lager went down easy and the melbourne moonshine on offer was top notch. Thanks to the staff for being patient with the little one
B. K.
The tapas here are next level, the combination of flavours and always changing specials make it a regular when I'm in Melbourne. The mains and meats are typical but good portion sizes. The bread and oil they use is decent unlike many others using harsh cheaper oil.
J. K.
Fantastic food, great vide and good food....
A. M.
The food is lovely classy modern Spanish. The staff are first rate. I just could not give it 5 stars because the portion sizes are so small and it is too expensive for what you get.
J. L.
Another great meal at Movida. The food is wonderful, with a great range from light vegetable based dishes, through to winter-warmers. The cauliflower purae with slow cooked beef-cheek is an undeniably favourite of mine.
The range, quality, consistency and depth of dishes makes this a reliably great place to eat. Service supports the great food - friendly, helpful and always happy to help guide customers navigate the comprehensive menu. In sum, well worth it, great value for a special occasion as well as business lunch.
L. X.
Movida Aqui is more spacious than the other Movidas and is good to have group gatherings. The paella is delicious and a must try.
D. M.
Absolutely fantastic. Couldn't recommend a place more. We had the degustation to treat ourselves from a tough week, and boy did it deliver. Tried a few of the different new cocktails, and while pickle juice and rum isn't my favourite combination the menu of others really was great.
S. J.
Some dishes were excellent. Some were a complete rip off! Beef cheek is still the best.
However, we had the first sitting and we were so rushed by staff who were frantic. I had to correct the staff for three plates that we weren’t finished yet! We ended up eating so quickly we both had indigestion.
Asked to pay the bill and were told they needed to set the table up for the next guests first! Uh, what about your current customers? Need to rethink the sitting times. Don’t think we will be back again. We left with a bad feeling, like cattle on a conveyor belt.
J. L.
Ugly delicious beaf ckeek!love it!!!
R. V.
Dined here last night with friends from overseas and it didn't disappoint. For starters, we ordered Tabla - a variety of cured meats, and 2 dishes from their Specials Menu: Pescado - Snapper fillet with mussels, and a Wagyu dish that I could not remember the name but it was the best steak dish I've ever tasted! This restaurant is bigger than its elder Movida (Original) in Hosier Lane and has a more intimate and relaxing atmosphere. Service is friendly and efficient. Bookings are still a must but, you have a better chance of getting a table here than at Hosier Lane. Prices are higher than average so this restaurant is perfect for special occasions and dates. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience 😊
B. C.
Great food. Tapers menu eat a little or a lot.
M. S.
I decided to take my work and head to this beautifully situated CBD restaurant/bar to escape my home office for an afternoon, I was able to sit and whip through all my tasks while being served fine wines and food by the amazing staff who were all very attentive yet not intrusive. It was busy enough to have a nice background atmosphere but not too loud that I couldn't concentrate, will definitely be adding this to my list of favorite work hide outs as well as bring friends back here to show how Melbourne I've become :)
S. P.
Amazing food and great atmosphere
P. M.
Possibly this, and the original Movida, are the best restaurants in Australia. The food is always delicious, absolutely mind-blowing. And the staff are outstanding: always attentive without being invasive, knowledgeable, and warm & friendly. Plus, surprisingly considering the quality on offer, it's not outrageously expensive. Very highly recommended.
J. C.
Now I'm not sure if it was because I was surrounded by loved ones, the weather was good or because the atomsphere was just vibing, but this is the best culinary experience I ever had in my life. No exaggeration intended. When I visted here around 3 years ago, now the food literally took me on a journey. I have never experienced before what I experienced that night with food and so this has occupied on my list as my all time favourite dining experience. I hope they are still providing such quality food and similar experiences presently. I will say that the tapas are generally small portions and from memory pricey, however if go in a group setting this will be ideal as can share the food and the cost doesn't kill the bank which is what we did.
R.
Had dinner for 2 on a Tuesday night. The service was flawless, food was amazing and prices fair. The general atmosphere is quirky and charming. Everything came out promptly, honestly can't fault this place. The prices might be high for some, but you definitely get what you pay for.
D. G.
Stunning food and the staff are fantastic. We opted for an early dinner before a show on a Friday night and being a hot Melbourne evening we decided to sit outside and not in the main restaurant. This turned out to be a great choice as the restaurant can be quite noisy when full. All food was beautifully presented and did not disappoint. My favourite dish was the Higos-
Figs, Oloroso, Goat’s Curd, Walnuts & Puff Pastry and the raw Kingfish. Can't wait to go back.
S. G.
The food was very good, service was pretty good but after being flushed circa $50 per head for the food component of the bill I expect to come away feeling full and satisfied, that was not the case. The portions were a bit meager typified by the $4 gambas which were the tiny and smallest runt prawns from the market, and its not like it was offset by an 'out of this world' taste. That being said, the 'Buey' is probably one of the nice dishes I have had in a long time and I would recommend to any good carnivore. Good drink selection and not bad setting.
Book ahead of time.
T. G.
Delicious food, excellent service by our waitress Alex who was incredibly helpful even when unable to accommodate certain menu items. Our table overlooked nice scenery too. Definitely coming back!!
L. D.
I recently went the the Hosier Ln location for a birthday lunch. Everything we ordered was outstanding. The wagyu with truffle foam was the highlight. We ate at the bar, and the bartender had excellent recommendations for both wine and food. Lovely atmosphere to relax it. Great vibe and unpretentious. I will definitely go back and try the other half of the menu.
P. M.
Friendly staff who pulled a table together for us when they were pretty full and accommodated some complicated dietary restrictions. Delicious food and cocktails.
G. B.
Great food great service.mildly pricey but worth the treat. Beautiful flavours on fixed menu.
D. N.
I took clients for lunch, set menu was great value and tasty. Wine was a bit on the costly side, but all in all very good.
T. J.
Completely underwhelmed by the food. The portions were small for the associated prices, they were beautifully arranged on the plate, but hot food was cold, many dishes were too salty and beef dishes were too chewy. Few to no options for vegetarians. Would not recommend this place to friends. The staff was attentive and the decor is excellent.
R. C.
As alway the food and service were excellent
C. T.
To die for! MoVida Aqui has become my favourite spot for a tapas-style dinner. I came with a friend for dinner and we were so impressed by the service, food and atmosphere. After looking over the expansive menu we decided to order the calamari sandwich w/ basque guindilla & mayonnaise, Catalan potato bomb filled w/ chorizo, slow cooked pork w/ radicchio, grilled broccoli & spinach, an eel mousse served on a prawn crisp and the Sopa Inglesa for dessert.
The service was perfect and very helpful and friendly. I couldn't ask for anything more.
After ordering it seemed like no more than 2 minutes before our dishes started to arrive. Each dish was so delicious and had the perfect balance of flavours, ingredients and size-wise was spot on!
The calamari sandwiches were served on mini sourdough buns w/ a gorgeous light mayonnaise and a tangy pickle. The main standouts for me were the eel mousse on prawn crisp (SO YUM!) and the Sopa Inglesa. The dessert was a 'trifle' with a small layer of softer-than-air sponge on the bottom, followed by a very thin layer of marmalade like jelly, followed by a layer of jam like jelly with strawberries, caramel, light cream and topped with hazelnuts...perfect!
I can honestly not wait to come back here!
A. P.
WoW!!!!!!
The tapas were amazing washed down with a Spanish beer and a gorgeous Tempranillo from the north of Spain.

Food was awesome! Definitely recommend! Service was a bit luck of the draw; the waiter definitely knew about the food however we felt rushed and chased out towards the end. We were also seated closely in between two tables when other tables were available.
B. S.
Enjoyed dinner at the bar. Was able to get in without booking on a rainy evening.
The charcoal grilled king fish was delicious and braised beef cheek moorish! Huge selection of tempranillo. Knowledgeable waiter.
Just the dinner I was looking for!
A. H.
Great but expensive spanish food
R. T.
Amazing food, great service and good with dietary requirements
C.
Passable but set menu for large group was nothing like a real movida dinner. Mushroom salad and bread courses felt like fillers rather than anything worth remembering.
Al la carte probably only way to go.
Service was fast and friendly.
A. C.
Amazing food and service! Must try the duck paella! It has a charred crust at the bottom that you scrape and mix through which adds such a DIVINE flavour.
C. L.
Delicious tapas and meals. Great wine selection and friendly staff. We enjoyed the outdoor dining area on a lovely Melbourne sunny day.
D. K.
Fine dining, good service, nice food, and incredibly expensive for the tapas and meals you receive. Extensive wine list but a short food menu. Not crowded with spacious tables.
C. H.
Food was really good and service was good. The tempranillo was excellent.
J. M.
Fantastic food, as with all the MoVida restaurants. I look forward to eating at MoVida each time I come to Melbourne. I ordered the beef cheek here, and it was so soft I literally* cut it with a spoon.
Depending on which way you walk up, the entry may be hidden behind a bush. Don't get lost in the Mexican taco al fresco place which is just outside (though there is nothing wrong with them, I've enjoyed their food too).
* - by 'literally' I mean that I actually did cut it with a spoon
A.
Nice vibe, friendly service, acceptable restaurant price if taking its location into account. However not too many choices available on menu and like many other Spanish dishes they often tend to get bit too salty for some people.
S. A.
A great experience dining at this restaurant!! I was skeptical of what would on offer for a vegetarian like me. But the paella was great..really liked the service and enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant!!!
R. R.
Amazing service. Loved the food. Well done
P. H.
Some interesting dishes but the paella was burnt black on the bottom rather than crispy and the rockling was excessively salty. The beef cheek was very sweet and tender and the abalone morsels very tasty. Drinks expensive.
J. B.
Great food and brilliant service. You can't go wrong when having dinner here the food is great with a great selection of wine and other drinks. Always enjoyed come here for a great evening
N. E.
We love this place. Relaxed atmosphere, great food, excellent service and a menu that is a moorish merger of comfort food with innovative twists - just the right mix to make you want to sit and pick at tasty morsels of good food and sip velvety drops of Spanish wine. All. Day. Long.
Favourite dish is the Anchoa. Don't be put off by the anchovies. I have friends that hate anchovies but who consume Movida's Anchoa by the truckload.
T. S.
Great food, relaxed atmosphere! Gets really busy at lunch so I would make a booking, we got lucky just as a walk-in.
P. C.
Food was amazing! Every dish was great tasting! Highly recommend the anchon, lamb tartare and squid ink paella!
R. M.
Not great value for money. Portions very small. Food quite tasty though. Service slow and didn't take order accurately so waited long time for food. Occasionally this happens but repeating back the order helps.
R. M.
Great food and helpful staff.
C. M.
Movida Aqui is the seafood orientated sister of Movida but there's a fantastic balance of seafood and non-seafood items. If someone in your group doesn't like seafood they won't go hungry. There's a good wine selection and the staff are great. The Jamon and squid ink rice were my favourite dishes.
B. C.
Best experience I have ever had at a resteraunt, the staff were amazing and well worth a tip. My glass never hit the table empty and I was never waiting for food. The meals were just amazing 10/10 for these guys.I think Jason or Jacob was looking after our table, a very speacial well done to him. Will definately be going back for speacial occasions.
N. C.
Very accommodating of myself and my family even without a lunch booking just before Xmas.
The staff were attentive and interactive and the food was excellent.
Kids loved the bombas and the calamari sliders!
J.
Went here with work on a Friday evening. In and outdoor seating available. Busy and a bit noisy, however prompt (though a bit rushed) service. Menu included a good selection of excellent tapas accompanied by quality wines.
A. M.
Great tapas, desserts and drinks
y. p.
Meat central, not much gluten free that didn't contain meat too. Attracts quite a corporate crowd, which produced loud, drunk and angry suits... This was early afternoon however, I can't comment on if this is always the case. Absolutely darling staff.
J. V.
What better way to finish the week than at this lovely relaxed spot? with great service and a choice delicious nibbles, you just can't go wrong.
J. M.
Wonderful banquet of 14. Everyone was well catered for with a few vegetarians, pregnant and coeliacs still included. Highly recommended for special occasions and after work drinks.
J. W.
Great food, just too much on the fixed menu we had. Probably out fault. Good wine menu
D. L.
Wonderful place with excellent food. Great wait staff and they know the menu so as to help patrons to order if need be. Everything is top notch.
A. D.
Excellent food, great service! We had a wonderful time!
P. M.
Go Movida
Amazing food/service
Staff flirted with my date a little, toilets could have been a bit more flash (always think a beautiful toilet is really impressive) but I’m feeling generous people! Five Stars!
P. F. (.
We had the set menu. Such a interesting, beautiful flavours and variety of dishes.
This place is our treat place for celebrating special events.
A. D.
Amazing, high quality food and friendly, rapid service. Everything delicious. The calamari Sandwich, bomba and Almejas were stand out and would definitely go back again
J. S.
Had a really lovely evening. They catered to our large group (8 pax) superbly, wait staff help select a brilliant variety of items, service was faultless and food exceptional. A credit to movida.
f.
10/10 ! Food was delicious and attentive customer service . Definitely will be back !
A. W.
Went here for a lunch with colleagues. Tapas style, and very good. Service staff were friendly and accommodating. Don't expect a cheap meal though, you pay for the quality.
K. C.
I was fortunate enough to visit Spain last year, and developed quite a fondness for the food! MoVida brings that experience a little closer to home, although I must say I personally prefer the ambience of the original, on Hosier Lane.
B. B.
Oh yum the food was really tasty mmmmmmm the service was good and hell the toilets were even clean!
So good I didn’t take photos of my food I actually ate it instead ..... you’ll just have to take my word it was good !
D. H.
Went here for lunch on day in the week. Great service, and good atmosphere... Quite pricey and don't get a great deal for the price, but was tasty.
L. G.
Awesome food. We asked the waiter to feed us, best decision, got a wide variety of delicious food and just enough.
J. T.
Great food and tip top services. No cheap but worth it.
C. I.
Service was fantastic!
Food was great, beef cheek just fell apart.
Overall an exceptional dining experience.
I. N.
Set menu disappointed. Not impressed by the mussels, which I love.Black rice described as 'carmelised', when it was burnt to the pan. Stuffed lamb chop was lovely , tender. Eminently forgettable meal at a $$ price..
I.
Good drinks and nice staff. Food is ok but I'm not a fan of tapas here. 80% of the cost of a main dish for 20% of the quantity.
P. B.
Tasty tapas, in abundance and variety. Having taken our order, they managed to order the presentation perfectly. Culminating in the Lamb ... worth the trip for.
G. T.
A truly enjoyable divining experience. Don't be fooled by the casual decor... staff knew their food and wines and both very enjoyable
M. D.
Great Spanish wines and lovely food. Note that the restaurant is behind the NAB away 500 Burke St; look up the size street and you'll see a sign.
D. B.
Great tapas delicious Sangria
A. H.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff food was interesting.
S. K.
Amazing food and great ambience. I think it is a must visit
K.
Nice atmosphere but a tad too pricey for me. Service was good. Some dishes came out too salty.
S. O.
Incredible food but disappointed they'd run out of fresh anchovies. Quite loud but I'm over sensitive to noise. Generally a great venu
K. J.
Absolutely brilliant. Fabulous food and great service. Can't wait to go back again.
C. E.
Good Spanish fare in Melbourne. Fantastic staff with relaxed atmosphere. Loved that the sommelier refused to be called so and insisted on 'wine guy' or 'booze lover'!
K. J.
Great drinks and atmosphere, disappointing vegetarian and vegan options but the other meals looked great
N. P.
Had an amazing range of tapas- wait staff were awesome, every dish was tasty and the waiter really knew the menu... was highly impressed.
N. A.
Nice atmosphere and location. Very average, expensive tapas. Reasonable vegan/vegetarian range.
S. R.
Yummy food but parked at the bar as I was on my own. Perhaps out of touch but thought was a tad expensive.
Would try again and have tapas and see how things change.
f. m.
Good food and good service, but can't get pass the price. It's a pricy place that has nothing much more to offer to those similar good restaurants nearby.
G. H.
Great selection and variety of delicious food, informed friendly staff, delicious (and far too drinkable) Sangria. Great atmosphere and quick turnaround on orders. A regular favorite.
P.
One of our family favorites! We got our box with goodies through Providoor and we loved it. Will be back for more!
K. F.
Beautiful meal and personal service. Mario was friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable and offered the perfect series of recommendations. I'll be coming back!
R. Z.
Great food and service. The restaurant itself is not overly crowded or too loud. Recommended to book and go. Don't miss the beef cheek and sobrasada.
J. P. B.
incredible well prepared and super tasty tapas
P. R.
some moments of briliance here - the bombas and black rice were amaze-balls - but just less consistency than the other outposts. the anchovies with salted sorbet was just weird. we left a little confused though the service was as energetic and engaged as any in melbs.
A. E.
Great food a must if you have the time!!
s. v.
Delightful. Good food, great service. Less atmosphere than the original but easier to book in
J. B.
Great atmosphere, good quality food. Tapas style, so quality rather than quantity. Good service too.
C. E.
The food was good, but as you might expect this is the kind of place where the price goes up and the size goes down. Also it was very loud and difficult to have a conversation.
A. M.
Nice but overwhelmingly corporate feel. Hits and misses with the food. Didn't enjoy our visit as much as the 'Original' Movida on Hosier Lane.
T. D.
Great Spanish style tapas and excellent service from all the staff. The beef cheek was my favorite dish
이.
Good vibe and good foods!
Especially Tapas is very good!
M. G.
Never fail to have a great meal at any of the Movida's. Friendly staff, delicious food, only problem is narrowing down the choice.
C. G.
Food was incredible. A large venue, not as intimate as original, but can't fault the food and prices are reasonable.
V. C.
Great tapas selection and a good option when the other sister restaurants are unavailable. One of my go tos!
N. T.
This place needs a menu refresh... Good was ok... Not as good as previous visits... Wine recommendation was average.... Will need to try again soon.
J. H.
This is an enduring taste sensation, never fails to impress and satisfy for food, drink and atmosphere. Always friendly service and vibrant.
S. B.
just ask the waiter to suggest a selection of dishes that will make sure you enjoy all the best they have got to offer. you can't be wrong.
C. W.
Amazing food and great music. The wine selection is vast and the beer selection solid.
G. H.
Nice food and good atmosphere. The wine is expensive but typical for a higher end restaurant.
K. T.
Love the food but it's a pain in the hip pocket - cost a fair bit. Great place for a splurge out. Better book ahead to avoid disappointment
J. W.
We will be back. Best food, best service, best wine and great atmos. When in Melbourne, always eat at MoVida
P. B.
Amazing selection of wines, delicious food and some of the most friendly and attentive staff I've ever encountered. Loved it
J. K.
Loved the food and wine but the meal was quite small for the price
L. M.

Excellent tapas bar with a diverse wine list (although could benefit from more wines by the glass). Try the Lamb Tartar
G. C.
Good food, good atmosphere. The seafood rice was not quick but well worth the wait
N. C.
Very fresh and beautiful food cooked with love.
Service and staff were great too.
D. C.
Some great dishes and wonderful service, but very noisy and missing some ambience.
S. C.
Food and service was amazing
D. G.
We had the most fantastric experience at Movida today. The service is excellent, the Tapas fabulous and the prices really excellent. Thank you
T. E.
To Movida Hosier Lane, as Cafe Vue is to Vue De Monde. Serviceable but not the real thing.
E. B.
Lovely food. Quite expensive for what you get. But a lovely place
T. W.
Good food, but atmosphere could be improved. The other locations are nicer
D. P.
Food was amazing with the service to match. Very attentive staff that made great recommendations
D. S.
Good paella and nice staff. Frankly speaking I found it quite expensive as a Spanish restaurant
D. M.
Food as good as Movida but a lot easier to get into! Always busy and always yum. Best tappas in town
D. K.
Service was good and accomodate.
Tapas were excellent.
Rosmary cocktail and Spain wine was awesome!!!
E. B.
Always excellent food. A bit pricey but worth it IMO.
M. S. R.
I was a bit disappointed with the tapas, but the mains were good. A bit pricy for the portions served
R. S. (.
Great ambience, food and service.
T. J. M.
Always a great space for special occasions - and ask for your special ‘quieter’ space if it’s a group occasion.
S. C.
Yummy food but on the expensive side. Service is sometimes hit and miss.
d. f.
Loved it. Great place to celebrate new years eve
K. K.
Always friendly service and excellent tapas& fluffy crunchy churros. We love White Sangria.
L. H.
Good food and wine. Not too loud or pretentious. Just what I was looking for.

A newer outlet of MoVida and MoVida Next Door, the burst of flavours are nothing short of outstanding. A must try is the Anchoa. Read more on our blog ChopinandMysaucepan.
S. O.
Awesome food, amazing staff, fabulous wine. Love Movida
V. V.
Wouldn't really call it amazing, it's nice, very pricey for what you get as well as the portion. Very limiting menu.

I love this place. The food is amazing, and because they serve it one or two dishes at a time you actually stop to appreciate it.
You can just have an after work drink outside but seriously take the time to enjoy the food.
Staff and service is great. Friendly and polite. They know and eat the food too so are able and happy to help you choose.
It is a bit pricey but despite the settings being small they are very satisfying due to the flavours and the style of food.
