Really accommodative staff & great customer service. I had some dietary restrictions & staff member-Bhim went above & beyond to prepare customised peas rice for me which wasn’t even part of menu. Tried for the first time tonight and ordered a wide selection. Every single dish was fabulous. The Lamb Rogan Josh - the right amount of heat, full of flavour and very tender meat. If you love potatoes, you must order the Matter Aloo Masala - I will be dreaming about this dish! The Tadka Dal was not one I have tried before but it was flavoursome and a nice addition. I have every confidence that you couldn’t go wrong with anything on the menu. This is my new favourite and definitely at the top of the best in the CBD. An added bonus is that there are a few 10 minute parking spots at the northern end of the centre street parks so perfect to grab takeout. The place is clean and the staff, professional. Highly recommend!

Nirankar is a nice little restaurant with lots of food options!! The food was amazing but staff’s were not much of a help in explaining the dishes properly. We ordered 4 dishes and they all were served on time with great flavours/ portion size. The only criticism I would give is “Table setting” - where they have added a huge piece of paper on top of every tables, so that the staffs don’t have to clean or change the table cloths! Otherwise the food was delicious with great flavours and we will definitely be back!!

After having visited Nirankar we personally feel it's the most underrated restaurant that has not received the kind of attention it deserve. It's way better than many (So Called) well known restaurants What also is quite interesting about this restaurant is they do Nepalese Cuisine as well. Ordered Lamb Cutlet, Squid Masala, Chilly Chicken, lamb Madras, Phelwa (Nepalese Fish Curry), Rice And Roti Basket. Lamb Cutlets were simply Out Of This World. But overall, everything we ordered was amazing. No complains at all. Service was very very very good and the pricing wasn't too bad too. Definitely returning.

Nice interior and friendly staff. The butter chicken was on the sweeter side and the mild had minimal spice. A generous amount of juicy chicken though. Nepalese mushroom curry had chunky pieces of mushroom and a thick consistency. The vege curry also had a sweet taste from by the cooked onions. In general, the naan breads were thin. The garlic naan had an unforgettable aroma with the buttery smell. Aloo paratha was made with whole meal flour bread. It was filled mashed potato and vegetable but tasted quite plain even with the herbs.

The staff were lovely and hospitable. My partner has some difficult dietary requirements, which they navigated around with ease. Our starters were tasty, however they were served cold, which was slightly disappointing. Our mains, however, were entirely on point. I ordered the goat curry; it was rich in flavour and spicy, the way I like it! The garlic naans are an absolute treat. My partner ordered the yellow Dahl and gluten free naan, which she could not stop raving about. As an Indian who loves his desi food, I would certainly recommend this place.

Food was pretty average but the service was very good. None of the curries jumped out at me and the varying spices all blended together. Just thought that the overall experience only warranted 3 stars. There are better Indian places in the city at similar cost which I would recommend. We went with a big groups and were seated very promptly and our orders were taken quickly.

Went here a week ago, it was alright. The momos were good, but we asked for medium spice noodles and it came out so extremely spicy I couldn’t have more than a bite. It honestly tasted like it had been drowned in Tabasco sauce. When they asked how the food was, I told them we were unable to eat the noodles due to its spice and they gave us 10% off. I think waiving the cost of the dish would’ve been more appropriate seeing we didn’t have it at all. Overall, the food was not as great as I expected.

Service and food overall was very decent. However i felt it was ruined a little by the fact that i bit down on bone half the time whilst eating my butter chicken. I realise sometimes people make it with bone but im not a fan and would rather the boneless quality chicken breast pieces given that the curry is $21. However my rating has a bit more to do with something else I became suspicious about. After all the suprising bone bites, i became a little more aware of the pieces. Inspecting them before eating as i didnt want another boney suprise. I saw a hole in some pieces. One a skewer would make...This made me suspect that they could be reusing older pieces of chicken... possibly originally for say a Chicken Tikka and dumping them in the butter chicken as a backup, as all my chicken pieces seemed inconsistant. The rating thus reflects how the food though some good... made me cautious....

Really tasty food. I had the vindaloo lamb and the sauce and spice were dead on. Further, on the contrary to what you would had in the UK it really had lamb (not the tipical 3-4 pieces). I also recommend the coconut rice as a side which matched perfectly to the vindaloo.

All the following dishes had super fresh ingredients, were flavorful and substantial, and all round fantastic: -goat curry -chicken vindaloo -mushroom vindaloo -okra -kashmiri naan (one of only 2 places in Melbourne I’ve been to that do this naan properly❤️)

Food smells and tastes delicious. Indian and Nepalese creates an interesting menu. Lamb had a bit of gristle which was unpleasant, roti was over cooked (hard and slightly burnt), one one batch of garlic naan was the same. Staff are friendly and quickly remove dishes and refills water. Restaurant has an authentic sound and feel to it. Plenty of parking around, the Secure Parking on Bourke St had a $15 lunch special.

AMAZING! If you are ever in the CBD make sure you stop on in, you will not be disappointed! Recommend this restaurant for its efficient and polite table service and great dishes. A good sign is that many of the clientele were from the sub-continent, so you can be assured the cuisine is authentic and not adapted to Australian taste. Subdued background music. I recently went here with my husband who is celiac. The waitress was absolutely amazing in making sure that he could eat everything. I'm not about authenticity but taste wise we found the food to be very very good (a beautiful vegetarian dish, a Rogan Josh and of course Butter Chicken). The staff were very very good. When a hurried midday lunch extended to two hours of a spicy culinary ecstasy, I knew that I have stumbled upon a Gem. Started with a Chicken Choilla, a fragrant mix of juicy tandoori chicken stripes & herbs; with a sparse funugreek seed sprinkle exploding flavors as you munch. Followed by a signature momo filled with juicy chicken; quarter dipped in a fragrant sauce. This is how a signature should be. The Saag Chicken, with the balanced flavors of garlic, green chilli and spinach; was exceptional. I judge the quality of any Indian restaurant based on the quality of naan I get; and oh boy; what a Naan! Steaming hot and crispy crisp, just the way it should be.
