We came here for high tea, Alana gave us the most amazing service, she really made our time so fun and memorable. It’s so lovely to have a waitress who really enjoys and is great at their job. The cocktails and food were incredible, definitely will be back!

We had a great afternoon at high tea, all the staff were incredibly helpful and accommodating, particularly Alana and a lovely young man with a beard but we missed his name. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed including sorting a hiccup in our booking and sourcing drinks ordered that were out of stock for us. Food and drinks all fabulous. Right along the river. Great outdoor seating. Nice options of cocktails but the drinks were a bit weak. I had the earl grey cocktail but didn’t taste the earl grey tea or the alcohol. Minus one star for that. The food was spot on though! Had a “toastie” (which I am told are toasted sandwiches, usually with cheese, but not to be called a grilled cheese sandwich). The one we had was delicious! Perhaps there was some tea infused in the bread? Super tasty!

Located alongside the historic Federation Wharf vaults ( the kitchen and bathroom are the vaults )and Yarra River right in the heart of Melbourne, Pilgrim is an intimate waterfront venue that proudly engages producer authenticity through its unique range of all Australian wine, beer and spirit lists. I attended Pilgrim for a gin tasting glass, can confirm that the food was delicious with decent sized drinks. The staff where also very accommodating and super friendly and knowledgeable. Will have to come back during the day!

We took advantage of the gin and tapas promotion, and what great value! Full size drinks, not cheap tiny samples, and good serves of food. We totally enjoyed both the selection of food and drinks over the two hours and we were completely satisfied. Great service, thank you Bridie, you are an asset to the amazing team. Great location next to Fed Square and overlooking the Yarra River. The food here is surprisingly good. We went for the BOTTOMLESS GIN & TAPAS. A great way to sepnd two hours! The Tapas is very good, just enough to satasfy an average eater. If you are a big eater you may want a bit more, but you can order more. One of the addtions you should add is the Lobster Sliders The Gin and Tonics are very good spread of different gins. There are four different ones included in the package and if you make it through the four you can get another - we barley made it through the four! Staff are friendly and helpful. The outdoor seating is very nice on a nice day. During the colder days it is dry, and they have overhead radiator heaters. For me the heaters were too much, I felt like I was sunburnt by the end of our session. The only only complaint is that the lamb is currently only avaiable on the Bottomless Gin and Tapas, it is so good and I wish I could just order it anytime!

We went yesterday for the gin high tea. It was fantastic and good to see that the high tea items we all homemade and not bought in. The cocktails were beautiful and very well presented. Only thing is our food order was not put through to the kitchen so we had to wait quite a while, in saying this they totally overcompensated for the mistake. We had a wonderful afternoon and we will definitely be back. The staff were so nice and extremely attentive Great job team pilgrim.

I did the gin high tea and I was absolutely blown away. The service from the get go was attentive, charismatic, and highly enhanced the experience. Dale was our waiter. The Chai and Davidson Plum tea/gin cocktail was one of the best cocktails I've ever had (and I've worked in cocktail bars for many years). The food was experimental but worked together amazingly. Beautiful view on the Yarra on a Saturday afternoon just adds to it. Couldn't recommend it more!

You can't go wrong with their Bottomless Gin & Tapas. Quality food and quality drinks. Only the nicest Melbourne gin for this package valued at $69! Only critique would be that drinks come out at a slower than expected pace (based on the group) but if you have a discussion with staff they'll cater to your needs. Service provided by Jack and Jerome (at the bar) was fantastic, really listened to the tables' dietary requirements and other concerns. Good venue despite dreary Melbourne weather. Would go again 5/5.

Gin High Tea Four of us had a wonderful afternoon at this bar yesterday overlooking the Yarra River. Add blue stone arches , a sunny afternoon, great service, delicious food, fruity cocktails plus endless bubbles and you would be hard pressed to find a better venue.

Good for drinks but pricey and poor service. If you want a drink by the river on a sunny day with locals and a bit quieter than other places this is a good option but I think tourists would prefer the range and location of the the bars up the river

The staff were friendly, wine selection good. When I was first served my braised beef sandwich I was a little underwhelmed, was just a toastie! To be fair it tasted good, but some higher quality bread and presentation is expected for the price. On the other hand the dessert was awesome (can't remember exact name, but orange, vanilla alaska = Good)

Melbourne has so many great places to enjoy and walking along the Yarra is one of the best ways to see it. Stopped in at the Pilgrim Bar on a beautiful evening and enjoyed a few drinks. Good selection on the menu, friendly staff, good seating & great vibe. We really enjoyed the white sangria full of flavour.

Had a company gathering at Pilgrim Bar and the venue deco and staff service was amazing! We were renting the Vaults and from the beginning, the venue organiser was very informative and accommodative towards all of our inquiries and demands. On the day, the bartender & the server were very friendly and keep informing us on our tab and managed to arranged a few tables outside for us to finish our drinks in. Very happy! :)

This was my first visit to the rebranded Juniperlooza bar formally known as Pilgram. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by the onsite manager. Given the current restrictions, we felt very safe with tables distanced from other guests and lots of sanitiser available at key points. We decided to have the bottomless gin and tapas menu - it’s excellent value with varied selection of drinks and food available. Service is nicely paced, the team do check in on you and ask if you’re ready for the next gin - is so easy to get distracted in conversation or lost in the beautiful view - you know the real focus should be the excellent gin selection. The staff are hugely knowledgeable on food and drinks, giving you a detailed description as items arrive. It’s the service you expect at hatted restaurant. Sadly we didn’t want to leave but because of the current restrictions we had too. We’ve made plans to return again with new friends in tow. Highly recommended.

Great little bar hidden along the river in federation square. You have to know it’s there to find it. We just stumbled upon it and the place was filled with locals. They were having a great time and being friendly. The staff is very friendly and it’s almost a family type atmosphere. It’s a patio/bistro/cafe type vibe so you have an open view of the river. Drinks are good and so was the food.

A bit disappointed with today’s visit. Firstly, the bottomless gin & tapas deal was for a minimum of 4, which wasn’t very clear in the Facebook event details. So then when we stick around for drinks, was kept waiting in the rain to try order drinks, ignored for a good 5 min as staff kept walking past. Usually this wouldn’t bug me, but when you’re getting wet in the rain, it’s not so fun. Quite expensive for the food portions that we got, so we didn’t stick around for long. The drinks were nice though.

It was nice a warm night and after having dinner in another place and a long walk on the Yarra , ended up in this small , nice looking resturant , just to have a drink. Selection was great so we ordered white Sangria and Shiraz. The vino was excelent but the Sangria is the best i ever had. This place is now on our list, one of the favourite, its also has friendly staff and fantastic views of the Yarra. We will definitely have a dinner here as we saw beautiful tapas coming out of the kitchen . Highly recomended !!!

A great evening, unfortunately cut short. I celebrated my 30th birthday at Pilgram last night. It was a great set up, very helpful host & delicious food. Unfortunately there seemed to have been a misunderstanding with the event planner - the initial agreement sent to me said we would have the venue until 10pm. I inquired about having it longer than that and they told me it would be exclusively ours until 10pm, we could stay after but it would become open to the general public. However, the bar closed just before 10pm even though my guests still wanted to buy drinks. I was informed around 10.45 we would need to leave the venue. I had assumed being a Saturday night that a bar would stay open until at least 12. But by then the helpful host had gone and everything was packed up and the staff left were not helpful at all. It was very disappointing to have to end a great night so early. If those are their hours I think the planner should have been more transparent in the early stages because I would have chosen an alternate venue.

Went to see a stand up comic at this little bar. Not too bad a venue but not well-ventilated. We were there on a warm March evening and it was very hot and stuffy. By the end of the show it was stifling. The outside drinking area is right on the rivers edge so that was definitely a more comfortable place to be.

Had a wonderful experience with our waitress. Such a lovely experience, great food and great drinks. However, really sad to see a group of staff not scheduled to work come in and 'hangout' at their place of work to become the most obnoxious loud foul mouth table in the venue. Getting up and helping themselves to the register to put more drinks through. Seriously "ladies" there are so many other venues. We do not need to know that you work here normally, or hear your LoUD potty mouth language. COME ON!

This is such a pleasant space on the Northside of Southbank. Great after midday for a brew of your choice. The view and ambience is way cool. We really enjoyed the range of craft beers and potato wedges.

Pilgrim’s the shy secret of the Yarra waterfront. It’s got better food and drinks than Riverland or Arbory (Afloat or otherwise) and yet it’s almost always possible to get a seat and a table there. It’s a hair or two more expensive than Riverland, but probably around parity with Arbory Afloat. Drop in there for a drink and a nibble and watch everything go by.

100 percent Ozzie produce, where else supports local growers, brewers and companies this whole heartedly. With an excellent range of frosty cold beers that get passed through one of the coolest mechanisms I've ever seen at a bar, you're pretty spoilt for choice from ales to lagers and pils to draughts. Ontop of that, yeah, you had me at beer too, you have a wonderful selection of organic, local wine. Some are even sulphite free! I know! Get amongst the glasses and bottles. Then, when you think it doesn't get better, you get food. Food that caters for vegans, vegos, celiacs/GF's and your unabashed meat lovers. All of whom get treated to wholesome and delicious options to fill you well good, with a healthy round of bevs mind you. Then, there's the cherry. The staff are sweet, fun, kind and full of all the know on the goods. What a great place to go.

Came here last week for gin high tea and let me tell you this place is a hidden gem! The high tea was delicious and catered to vegetarian/vegans, and great value at $65 for food, 3 unique gin tea cocktails (the chai and davidson plum one was sooo good), and bottomless bubbles. The staff - Alana and Erin, were absolutely gorgeous and made our day. 10/10 recommend.
