Best peking duck I’ve had! Chef carves the duck at your table when it’s not too busy. Get the salt and pepper duck frame instead of the soup! Also tried the Special Fried Rice, Sweet & Sour Deep Fried Pork Ribs and they were great too! Such a gorgeous dining area, staff are very polite and helpful too. It has been 5 years since I first time came here. A traditional Chinese Beijing Cuisine restaurant. Unfortunately they already changed their menu. Peking duck is good, especially the sauce, very nice, but it is not fresh baked, this kept in a warm container, so the taste is just so so, but I do not want to ask too much, this state still could be one of the top in Australia. This cabbage 🥬 really normal, the taste of cabbage is just the taste of cabbage, not the taste mixed with the stock. I am a bit disappointed ☹️ . I give 4 stars for this traditional restaurant still in open and good service. I hope Quanjude could be better taste in the future.

As seems very common in Chinese restaurants, the staff pay more attention to if spoken in Chinese. This is not a criticism- I also pay more attention to people who are speaking my native language- but it may not be in line with some people’s expectations. There should be someone in the group who can speak Chinese (Mandarin.) With that said, the food itself is spectacular. I loved the Peking duck, and the liberal use of black & Sichuan peppercorns in the stir-fry dishes.

I booked for a table of 11 through the online system. Very efficient and got a confirmation almost right away. We ordered 2 Peking ducks and they were cut up in front of us very professionally and nicely. The duck soup was also amazing and rich in flavour. Service from wait staff is really really good. They were courteous and attentive. We had kids dining with us and they made sure the kids cutleries and chairs were catered for.

We arrived at noon but door was still locked. I've had to call the restaurant for someone to open the door for us. We were the only table until we left but food took a long time to come out. The waitress explained that usually they serve the roast duck before everything else hence the delay. We then requested for other dishes to be served first as we have an appointment after lunch. The food was good and service was ok. Not cheap but for the quality of food you are getting it's worth the money.

Just had a work lunch gathering here today for a group of 16 people. I highly recommend Quanjude Restaurant. This was my first time coming here and the organising of this event had been nothing but helpful and smooth sailing. From dietary requirements accommodation to last minute changes in attendee numbers- nothing was too hard. We pre-ordered our food and the food came out dish after dish seamlessly. Every dish was delicious with the perfect balance of flavours and texture. It was hard to say what was the highlight because every dish was just as good. The entree beef melted in the mouth, the fried squid was freshly made, sweet and sour fish, peking duck, fried mantou, pork sauce and noodles were just a few of the dishes we had ordered- all cooked and prepared to perfection. The service was impeccable with continuous tea being refilled. Our guests all said the meal was superb and everyone has a wonderful time. Thank you to the team at Quanjude for this wonderful experience. This will not be the only time I will be visiting. We will certainly be back again and would recommend you to our friends looking for a good Chinese meal in future.

My friend brought me to eat Chinese food. He said that we could have the most authentic Chinese food here. We ate the most famous roast duck here, and the overall feeling was very good.

Three of us ordered one duck and it was good but not better than other places and cost $88 which is quite expensive. Also they didn't offer duck frame but on the menu it is included. I was very confused as one waiter said it is included and another said we can only have either duck soup or duck frame. I think if I bought the whole, why not the frame? Service is good and $3 for tea is not too bad, but other things on menu is overpriced. If I only want duck, I won't come again. There are many restaurants does the same thing with almost half of price and usually comes with soup and stire fry rice/noodles.

Quanjude like this probably would not survive long in Beijing. At the same time, it might well be one of the best Peking Duck meals you are able to get in Melbourne. There's clearly a bit of disarray in the management of this branch - toilets not working, no soap in any of the dispensers, credit card readers uncharged etc. Generally it feels the place is stuck in the 90s.

If you order roast duck here, the duck skeleton after cutting the duck meat can be made into another dish. Personally recommend the duck rack soup, because after eating the duck meat, it will be a little greasy, drink a warm bowl of duck rack Soup can help you relieve the burden on your stomach.

Visited this place for few time during last 5 years and the Peking duck is getting perfect!!! We ordered 2 serves of tea, 1 veggie dish and duck combo ( whole Peking duck, steamed white wrap, spring onion slices and cucumber slices, as well as duck broth). Everything else arrived efficiently and we waited long time for the duck. This is acceptable on a Friday night though. The staff have been very attentive and constantly added more tea for us, and updated us about the duck. The duck is freshly cooked in order to make sure the skin is freshly crispy while serving. Fairly reasonable. The duck was AWESOME. The skin was beautifully crispy, with the aroma of fresh duck meat, scents of caramel, and a perfect amount of duck oil left inside (as most oil has been roasted out). The price is quite fair compared with the similar duck dishes in China. We r already planning for our next visit.

We were delighted by the Chinese style main course with species and lots of flavors, extremely impressive for a peking-duck specialist restaurant. The service was above average, with lots of friendly staffs. As you step your foot into the restaurant, you are welcomed by the magnificent Chinese setting, a beautiful combination of ancient and an immense luxury of modernity. Every table gives you a clear view of the chef slicing the duck. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouth-watering starters followed by the main course, specially designed for youngsters and adults which is told by the manager, we had a hard time decicding on the course but thanks to the manager by giving some great recommendation.We had one whole duck, and budda temptation as starter. They were exquisite. The main course includes veggie, wagyu and fried rice. This was really thrilling. Then followed by red bean roll (donkey roll? can't really remember the name) for dessert. All the cuisines were fresh and refreshing. The restaurant also offers various types of drinks, they serve one of the best wines in the region. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir(Yabby Lake) which is recommemded by the manager and it goes really well with the duck. The drinks are pricey but surely worth trying. In contrast, the service was excellent.Extra credits to the manager which is always full of warmth and thoughtful of his guests. He is always around ready to hear all types of experiences from you and the rest of the guests. Because of the brilliant atmosphere and delicious food service, I highly recommend going to the restaurant. I’d love to visit the place again. You can go with your friends, family, partner or whosoever you wish to. Do try their PEKING DUCK! One of the best duck i ever had.

Always love to dine here with family. We obtained a certificate indicating the number of duck we eat that day. I love the juiciness and how succulent the Peking Duck is. The food is absolutely fantastic and prepared wonderfully well. 5 out of 5 for food alone. We had the whole Peking duck which was absolutely delightful. For $79 you get a whole duck, with 16 pancakes. You can order another 8 pancakes for $8 which you will need. The service , however, is absolutely abysmal and deserves one star. Slow, forgetful, and utterly unreliable. We arrived and they didn't have our reservation. It took 1 hour and 20 mins for the first dish to arrive. The fried prawns and sauteed vegetables took 2 hours and 15 mins to arrive. They needed to be reminded of our order 4 times and forgot our dishes not only once, but twice after being reminded. It's also impossible to get the waiters' attention, so I had to get up each time to find a waiter in order to get any service. We didn't need to be anywhere afterwards but other customers around us who did, were not happy either. They seemed to have enough staff for the number of customers, but don't have a proper system in place. Total shambles. For $60 per head you would probably think the service would be better. It's such a shame as it would be such a great place if they can get that aspect right.

It was last night I content with reservation at Quan Ju De Restaurant and request the booking for dinner then she explained detail about the pre order. When I arrived there all of the waiter are warmly welcome with their sweet smile. I ordered the dishes take the note of order and explain history of the dishes in detail which is really interesting. I found all the dishes are extremely delicious and got the taste of traditional Chinese cuisine. There were also different kind of wine, whisky. So, I highly recommend to visit there you will surely get a lot of satisfaction the same at me.

Reasonable price for people to just eat famous Peiking duck. We had one whole duck and salt & pepper duck bone which is a typical way how Chinese order in legendary Quanjude in China. I won't complain about the wait for the duck because it's the same as how you will wait in Quanjude in China since the duck is fresh roasted when you ordered. If anyone can't take the wait, just don't order the duck. Chef does slice the duck in front of the customer up to Beiking duck standard. The way how Peiking duck presented is same as in China except the salt & pepper dipping. Peiking duck skin is very crunchy. And the Cantonese duck skin is only crispy. Texture is very important in traditional Chinese cuisine. And that's the taste difference you can get here but not anywhere else in Melbourne. Surprisingly, the soup come with the duck is very tasty. I can image how many duck bone have been used in cooking the stock. There are a few imperfection in the Peiking duck here compare to the one in China. The Green Onion is cut a bit too short. The cucumber is a bit dry. And the pancake is lack of elasticity. I believe the duck itself is picked from local stock which is tasted a bit different to the Peiking white duck from China. Of course it will not be the same price if the ingredient is imported. The dinning atmosphere is great and the service is positive. I can tell the manager is trying really hard. Overall, I give it 7/10 compare to the Quanjude in China. But it is definitely worth a try if you've never been to China or miss the Quanjude duck from China.

This restaurant is every bit as opulent inside as it is outside. We came here for dinner with family during a weeknight. We ordered Peking Duck. A chef came out and personally carved up the roasted bird in front of us, demonstrating his expert capabilities. Along with that dish, we had a variety of stir-fried vegetables, a hot pot as well as numerous meat based dishes. For 8 people, the total came to about $450, which we found quite reasonable given the luxurious vibes and above-par service. If you want to impress and get good value for money, Quan Ju De is highly recommended.

Love their food if not a bit pricey. Did many dishes well. But good luck if you go after first few days off Chinese New year. Lots of things won't be in stock. Spacious enough. They had a couple of extremely rude waiter and waitress a while ago but I don't see them around anymore. Hope the ride staff don't come back. They don't have a lift to their main area. Anyone with pram will need to carry it down. Not handicapped friendly. No nursing table. Just not v baby friendly.

You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Wagyu Beef was delicious, and the Peking Duck is a must. Try the fried ice-cream as well. Service was good. This is a hidden gem and I highly recommend this place for dining.

This restaurant is known in my family as the Beijing Duck Place. It's one of the only locations from the chain not in China. They give you a certificate for your duck. And the ducks are always worthy of their certificate. Eat your duck three ways: skin, in pancake and soup. Non-duck dishes are delicious as well.

Just finished a beautiful Fathers Day dinner after reading many positive reviews. The Peking duck was perfect,crispy & succulent,the entrees moorish and the service excellent.The decor was modern Chinese fusion,thankfully no music to stifle coversation The great thing about Quanjude is that it's not in the CBD,parking is easy & free. The only point i can make is that they should install an elevator for elderly & disabled clientele.Overall a very satisfying night out had by all.
