This has to be my new local fave bar! The coolest thing about it is it’s a bottle shop converted into a bar with a kitchen out the back to cook up some incredible small plates! We visited here spontaneously on a night out- got in just before the kitchen closed and was super happy we did as the food was divine! We had: 🍆 Babaganoush with a eucalyptus infused oil with some delightful pita bread ❤️‍🔥 Olives 🔥 Fries 💖 Fried Chicken 🫒 Dirty G+T The Dirty G and T was seriously the most delicious g and t I’ve eveerrrr had!! Like I’m obsessed and will go souly back for that reason 🥵 Not to mention the service was impeccable- they accidentally forgot about our drinks and were so apologetic- they even discounted our bill which I was so shocked when I went to pay! They seriously went above and beyond and I value that so much ❤️‍🔥 I’ll be back for sure 🥰 Never get rid of that g and t!! *Not a collab* follow my IG alexsfoodieadventures for more recommendations!

Lovely drinks and very friendly staff. This is a perfect place to go for a date. The food is good but was missing something. Our favourite was the radish salad. Might have to try again and order something different as we might have just ordered poorly. The atmosphere was relaxed and cool. And I think on the night we went they may have been understaffed. Slip into this sleek bar lined with hundreds of excellent wines and try the Pinot Grigio with a small green olive dish. Very good choices. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. All bottles can be purchased for take away. And there's a huge array of beer in colourful cans.

Really enjoyed dining at Rascal - we did the chef’s menu which was all delicious but my personal favourites have to be the crab toast with furikake, the bresola, kangaroo tartare, and lamb (super tender, flavourful and that’s from two people who aren’t exactly lamb lovers). For dessert, my preference was the mango. All in all - solid menu, drinks and great service!

Totally blown away. This brand new wine bar and restaurant just opened in Brunswick and is hitting home runs on multiple levels. I know it seems odd but the roasted carrot and mead dish is a mouthwatering must. Fantastic cocktails as well, try the midnight stinger. The desserts were probably the best ones I've ever had. I could probably write a whole review just on them. If you can, try the caramel pear and the rhubarb and blackberry ones. Plenty of vegetarian options for me such as a moreish cauliflower dish and a really tasty take on celeriac. My meat eating friends seemed to be enjoying the snapper and fried chicken dishes. Even though it is a new bar the staff provided excellent service. They were very helpful and helped me choose a glass of syrah granache wine which tasted of juicy dark cherries and paired perfectly with my meal. There's a very nice bar area as well as the more restaurant focused part so it seems they've catered well to those hungry for great food as well as those that just want to pop in for a bit of wine and cheese.

Deliciousness! I went with a group of girls on Saturday night and we had a lovely table on the side. While there was a fun energy to the atmosphere we were still able to comfortably converse and hear each other. I’m vegetarian so it was great to have a range of delicious dishes I could enjoy. The pasta was a treat and that zucchini dish was refreshing and playful! I will never forget that whipped butter with the bread, simply divine! Cocktails were delightful and well made (queen of sour I think it’s called?) passion fruit foam in it was heavenly! Definitely recommend 5 stars

Rascal. Oh how close you came. Great location. Lovely room. Interesting and tasty food (although the snapper was overcooked). Lovely wine selection. But you really need to train and educate your waiting staff to be more empathetic to your customers. They’re there to make the dining experience seamless, but they made it so much worse. So much worse that after spending over $200 for two people, we will never come back. The arrogance (and ignorance) of the young ladies who handled our dinner was spectacular. Melbourne has a very competitive food scene and you really need to have all parts of your operation working well. I strongly suggest you pull your heads out of your behinds and focus on your customers and provide a welcoming environment. Moody and arrogant front of house is not the way to go. Such a shame!

The food is the real star of this casual and fun wine and beer bar. Love this place. Great for a first date or hang out with friends. The kitchen prepares small plate dishes. The bar makes fun cocktails, nice wines and funky craft beers. The wait staff are very relaxed and have great character.

Went to the opening night and was blown away ! Food was so good and far beyond what I expected. Wine list is well thought out and the Chardonnay I had which is owned by the owners family was great. Beers on tap and 50 bottles in the fridge kept my friends happy. Mrs had a cocktail and said it was also super good. A great addition to Sydney road and the Brunswick area will be back for sure. Make sure you chat to the owner Harrison as he is knowledgeable and worth a chat.

Lovely experience. Wine was on point and food was great. Only reservation was when the staff asked for a tip, they sort of stared at me putting the tip into the EFTPOS terminal which made me feel a little uncomfortable. Other than that we had a stellar night!

The menu was great, nice share plates. The kangaroo tartare, wow. The carrots? Life changing. And the dessert, for someone who normally skips dessert for cheese, I'd definitely do the desserts again. Great place for wine and food with friends. We ordered a selection from the menu, half of the group was vegetarian and each dish was delicious. The vegetarian dishes were especially tasty. Bar guys know their stuff - we had a few cocktails and a couple of bottles of wine. The service staff were attentive and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. WE LOVE LOVE LOVED NATE ! Went for a friends birthday function last Thursday, great wine bar with a menu that lends itself more towards nice restaurant, with really friendly staff. Saw this place pop up recently and decided to try it mid week. Was very quiet when we arrived but got busier as the evening progressed. Food was simply outstanding. We didn’t try any of the meat dishes and stuck with pescatarian options but everything was superb. The crab toast was so good we ordered seconds. Service was fine but slow at times. I sat without a drink for a while and watched while staff socialised. I find this is the norm when venues are quiet as staff tend to chill more. Not a deal breaker though. I think we paid about $140 for two with 4 drinks so certainly not a cheap night out but a solid experience. Will be back for sure.
