The most delicious & amazing food I’ve experienced in a long time! Atmosphere is great, place is very clean & the coffee is perfect. Staff are super friendly & accommodating. Definitely recommend!

Dinner 22/08/21 Truffle Mushroom Risotto The risotto was really rich with balanced flavors, the serving size for the single dish was gigantic, would probably serve 2 to 3 meals, the bowl in my photo only had a third of the serve in it and reheated quite well. In other reviews I have mentioned how annoying food prep staff with masks half on/off where they are constantly touching them and how I thought it would be better to just not wear them and post a notice as to why, it’s just not hygienic to be touching masks! Well Sassy did just that which I was happy to see stating their kitchen staff are exempt from wearing masks which I think is great (if they aren’t breaking any health advice) So you might be wondering why I dropped a star? Well, I have been searching for good pasta in walking distance and every where has been closed (just had hip surgery so can’t walk more than a km) I called Sassy during the day to make sure they would be open for dinner and specifically asked about the pasta and if their menu was online! Turn out they had recently changed menus so I couldn’t get the pasta I wanted and went with a risotto instead, I don’t really care for tomato based pasta sauces. Also this menu change is why I couldn’t get photos for my review of their menus! Maybe next time but Sassy if you read this please update your online menu ASAP!

The quality of the meals was outstanding! We have dined in many fancy places and this food is right up there. We ordered a couple of pasta dishes and they were both 10/10. It’s the first time we’ve dined-in, having ordered pizza delivery a few times and been equally impressed. Such a great local, fantastic service with authentic Italian music and views across the Docklands. We’ll be back. Highly recommend - get to Sassy x.

RECENTLY OPENED RESTAURANT / BAR RIGHT NEXT TO NORTH MELBOURNE STATION Went for a brunch on a Saturday morning. We were able to walk in without a reservation but I suspect that this will quickly become a local institution on the weekends once word gets out! Great service, good menu range and very comfortable setting (being the ground floor of the recently completed Volaire apartment complex on Dryburgh St). Later in the evening it morphs into a trendy cocktail lounge. People with mobility issues will be fine as it's a new building with easy access and one level floor.

I havent ever recieved such wonderful customer service in a resturaunt before until tonight. Everyone was so lovely and attentive, everything was presented beautifully and I can say I enjoyed everything I had! I had the Homemade Marinara Pasta and a chocolate mousse with strawberries which was very indulgent and well balanced. They have excellent portion sizes which impressed me, I will definitely be back. Beautiful food, great ambience and great staff. We attended an event Saturday evening, the owner advised that they were understaffed but honestly, it didn’t feel like it! We were attended to promptly and with a smile. Will definitely be coming back!

Sassy’s is a hidden gem. The atmosphere is great and the food is perfection. It’s hard to find a place that truely cares about the food and the head chef/ owner actually does and you can tell in his long slow cooking methods, the food absolutely melts in your mouth I can’t recommend the slow cooked brisket enough. Would have given 10 stars if I could. Have been here twice in the last week👌

This was our third visit to Sassy. The food was, as usual, beautiful, and the service was excellent. My spouse and I both had the lasagne, Ele’s recipe, and it was superb. Same could be said of the panacotta my guests had, and even more so the dark chocolate mousse I had. The waitress was very efficient and pleasant. We recommend Sassy enthusiastically.

Sassy X is a good addition to the west side, it’s open for all meals but I can only comment on the dinner menu - really enjoyed the kingfish and croquettes and the pizza we had to share. The Lunar coco cocktail is absolutely divine (please never take it off) and I also enjoyed the Tom Yum cocktail. Conveniently located near the station, it’ll be a great place to catch up with a group of friends.

Enjoyed a lovely dinner at Sassy. Absolutely have to try the lasagna with ragu sauce. It is a family recipe passed down in generations and one you won’t regret. For starters can recommend the mushroom arancini with truffle sauce it’s a must try. The owner was so lovely to give complimentary focaccia and you can’t go wrong with the cocktails list. Enjoy!

Lovely new addition to the west melbourne area, with an Italian/Spanish vibe. loved the finger food and pizza. Though the paella was a great looking dish, seafood flavours where overpowered in this dish. Will definitely try it again to get the Spanish holiday vibe going again. The pizza’s are yummy and also available for take-away. And with the addition of Sassy-buns burgers and more are also well represented. The coffee ok, though close by there are some other great coffee options.

Friendly and inviting. The food lived up to all the hype. Started with salt and pepper calamari followed by the most sublime zucchini fritters. Then tucked into the Fish of the Day, crispy skinned barramundi on a bed of cous cous. The fish was fresh and did not disappoint. Food was absolutely fantastic. I had the lamb ragu and my partner had the chicken, and we shared starters or sweet potato fritters and the mushroom aracinis. We booked an Elvis show last Saturday night 15 May 2021 at Sassy X restaurant and had a fabulous night. The show and menu was included in the price and presented tremendous value. There was plenty of food with 12 different plates served at your table that you shared with your partner. Compliments to the owner Elle for a fantastic night. He was very friendly and made sure that everyone was having a good time. It’s a credit to him how he managed the place and showing great respect for his staff. A Friday evening filled with an abundance of fantastic food and beverages. I was yet again completely overwhelmed with the most sincere hospitality from the onset of my arrival. Nothing beats walking into a restaurant, where you are made to feel genuinely welcome immediately. Stepping into the restaurant, being greeted with a smile and taken to your table where friends await and a beautiful view immediately seen, is only the start of the superb experience at Sassy's Restaurant. We were absolutely spoilt with choice and the menu items truly left no one disappointed. I wish I had taken a photo of the passionfruit mojito and cosmopolitan that started off the wonderful dining experience for me. They sure were perfectly made and Instagram worthy. Our meals were prepared to perfection and nothing was a problem for the owner and wait staff- they truly attended to our every request. I highly recommend this place to everyone! Thank you once again Sassy's. I look forward to many more evenings creating memories shared amongst family and dear friends, knowing you truly cannot go wrong! An absolute gem.

My group ordered Italian Lovers, Rosted pumpkin & ricotta Gnocchi & Roasted Boneless Chicken. My friends said they love the Roasted Boneless Chicken (especially the sauce). Came here on a event night and was treated to an amazing spread. The margherita pizza was very good. Loved the quality of the base, nice and thin with a good amount of bite. A few other stand outs were the paella, sweet potato gnocchi and the beetroot salad (the beetroot salad was amazing). For dessert we tried the yuzu and lavender panna cotta and churros. The panna cotta was an interesting combination and it worked quite well, it wasnt as smooth as other panna cottas I've tried though. The cocktails available are unique, think wasabi and chilli in some cocktails 🤯. Definitely worth a try. Overall we had a blast , the venue is spacious and the decor and lighting really sets a good mood for night dining.

People keep telling me 'there are lots of great Italian restaurants in Melbourne'. Maybe that is true, whatever that means… What is definitely true is that there are extremely few restaurants serving “genuine” Italian food in Melbourne - you can count them all on one hand with fingers to spare. You judge genuine Italian by what your Nonno would think. I know my Nonno would be extremely pleased and proud to eat here.

Amazing dining experience. A lovely surprise to find such a bright, airy place right next to the train station (easy access). Wonderful views out to the Melbourne Star wheel and overview of the Docklands. An excellent selection of dishes from breakfast to dinner. Fresh ingredients and excellent service from smiling staff. The coffee was fresh and served lovely and hot. I took my friend here for his birthday brunch because he is the most sassy person I know. We both work in hospitality and were extremely impressed by every aspect of the venue, to the point where we are still talking about it over a month later. The menu has so much variety, we got ramen and pizza and they were both incredible. The staff were so attentive and friendly. The cocktails were creative and delicious. The bottomless brunch included the meal and 6 drinks which was amazing value. The whole venue was beautifully clean, even the kitchen! Everything was so impeccable, neither of us could find a single fault. Not to mention that it is right near North Melbourne station so very easy to get to. Honestly cannot wait to return!

Burgers to make you smile. 😃 With a range of coloured/flavoured buns to tell the delicious protein fillings apart. The only drawback is you need to bring your A-game to polish these off. Big on fresh toppings and expertly grilled/fried meat or vege that is thick. These are big burgers. Make sure you are hungry!

What’s not to like about this welcoming restaurant? I’ve made it my local drop in and I’m never disappointed. Sassy’s location, right across from North Melbourne station, provides unique views across the Docklands and container terminal. At night the Melbourne Star illuminates this once ignored part of the city. The management of Sassy (Ele and his partner Katerina) provide very high standards of warm hospitality. All staff are attentive and not overbearing. The open, bright and attractive interior is inviting. You can easily relax in this place. The unobtrusive playlist is international and sets an upbeat mood. I love Sassy’s coffee (and I’ve sampled much of what the area has to offer). I can highly recommend the pizza (great value) and would suggest you’ll find it hard to top their delicious big Sassy brekkie. The menu is wide-ranging (and well priced) and expertly prepared by knowledgeable chefs. I’ve not tried a lot but I do remember some very tasty croquettes. Once Sassy becomes more well known I forecast a very bright and busy future. It’s on the corner in the ground floor of Volaire, a uniquely designed cebus apartment building. Well worth a visit.

We weren’t going to do anything for Valentine’s day but decided to come to Sassy as we hadn’t been here for a long time, the smoked cauliflower croquettes were so good, I regretted not getting one for myself! For mains we got the crab risotto which was rich and full of flavour, the cabornara was creamy and kind of smoky, maybe from the meat, and dessert!!!!
