Comments of SkyHigh Mount Dandenong

Absolutely love this place. Not only does this place offer you a stunning view from above the hills, but great food too. They also have a picnic area which is so thoughtful.
We went there while they also had the beer garden pop-up and could enjoy few drinks in the sunshine. Its a vast area apart from just the restaurant and one can easily enjoy a stroll in the greens too.

Gorgeous place to visit in such a beautiful warm day. This lovely place has a lot of potential, but needs extra attention, specially the handrails on the little bridge going towards the lookout seems to be unsafe. If you have little children, don't let go their hands as they can easily fall from the bridge.
L. L.
Note that there is an entry fee to the car park. The views were not so good on a foggy morning. We had coffee and cake, expect sky high prices for cake. The coffee was excellent and the cakes were delicious. Lovely gardens and a surprise sky high maze for an extra cost. It was lovely and very peaceful on a Tuesday. It was a shame to see lazy people had left litter throughout the gardens.

This place has not changed much in years and is becoming boring gradually. Good one time visit for tourists. Good idea to go for a hike at nearby botanical gardens if you visit here. The cafe food is average and overpriced in comparison to the taste and quality. I understand they need to keep the business afloat. Still a decent spot for a relaxed picnic or afternoon if it isn’t much crowded. On a good day it can be pretty crowded and you will struggle to get a good view or a pic taken.

My daughter got married here last Monday and it was the perfect venue. The team at Sky High were phenomenal to ensure everything was just right. The staff were extremely friendly and happy to be of assistance, the food was delicious, cold beverages flowing all night, the garden ceremony set up and venue looked amazing and the service provided throughout the whole day from the ceremony to the reception was faultless and far exceeded our expectations. We were absolutely thrilled and would highly recommend this venue for a wedding. Everybody who attended had an awesome night, it was just the best day. A very big and appreciative thank you to Graham and staff for all you did to ensure the day was simply amazing and a truly memorable experience 👏👏👏 ✅ ✅✅

Worth the drive.
It was tough driving up the narrow and steep mountain to reach Skyhigh but once you get there you'll be greeted with amazing view, food, and activities. There is a small fee per car. We arrived in the early evening and took a stroll around the garden. We suggest you make a booking if you want a window seat in the restaurant, there are also outdoor seatings to embrace the view.
When we went it wasn't too busy and with the sun slowly setting, the ambience was perfect for our dinner. Our waitress Emily was lovely and attentive, although this is the bistro, we were looked after like we were in fine dining. The food was fresh and serving size was generous.
The sunset was spectacular and you can enjoy this from multiple viewpoints at Skyhigh.
C. H.
Great atmosphere & friendly polite staff. Fast table service and delicious food and drinks. Then to top off a great dinner, the view was just stunning!!
M. B.
The venue is incredible with far ranging views of all of melbourne. Service was slow, only one cashier on a weekend. Food was average, especially for the price. Need an upgrade on the quality of the buns, cheese, coleslaw (just cabbage no dressing) and fried chicken. Lattice fries good.
C. o. L. L.
as you see, except the environment and view, food just not taste good~(that's why I gave 4 star)
Sorry!
and found few bugs in the salad which we told the manager and they wipe the dish off from the bill~

I have loved always going to Dandenong ranges and specially walking around sky high, the photo has been clicked by me around 2 years ago but I have been there recently. It’s always as new. I love when I go there on my birthdays, It’s quiet and pleasant. For kids the maze there is beautiful and joyful but there is about $8 tickets for each. Some of little things like well, trees, flowers are rare to see anywhere else so I guess it’s good with greenery. The most pleasant for me is to drive there most people complain of earache but I just ignore it and enjoy the lovely part of it. I think it’s rare that only some Melbourne’s people hasn’t taken pictures with Giant chair. On the way back another picture of my collection that I taken from tulip festival. I love nature and taking pictures of these beautiful views. Puff and billy people must try when you visit Olinda and Belgrave side. It would be achievable trip.
A. N. B.
Can see the city from this place. A very good leisure place for families with children. Restaurant serves good chips at a Price of $13. Good authentic coffee is enjoyed.
K. S.
Stunning views and beautiful gardens my 6yr old loved navigating her way through the beautiful English garden! And we had lots of fun in the small garden maze
d. n.
I haven't had food cause it was close in that time but i enjoyed the view a lot and i put some photo here to share with everyone
K. L.
Standard pub food quality, food is decent considering the fact that you’re in a remote area.
If you want window seating to enjoy the nice view, strongly recommend booking far in advance.
G. T.
What a fantastic place for a wedding! Sensational food, great service from the team and a beautiful wedding Secret Garden! The ideal place for a wedding with spectacular views and the room allowed everyone to mingle easily at the reception.
W. C.
Dined in for dinner after bushwalking at nearby trails. Food was not bad, however there was no night view as it was cloudy, just enjoy the interior restaurant ambience.
S. O.
Nice atmosphere, food wasn't spectacular but still nice. City fireworks was too far away to enjoy much but still a great scenery.
A. D. H.
Firstly, the view is exceptional, especially on a warm clear day and having a meal or coffee while enjoying a chat and that view alone would be reason to visit this place.
The drive up to that area isn't as twisty and quite fun to be honest, with the surrounding forest, and breeze would actually take off all the stress of the week.
Finally, the food is actually quite good, but not to a point that I'll crave for it or something (but maybe because I only ordered a chicken burger). The strawberry milkshake I had was very good.
Overall this will be a place I will visit once in a while (with good weather) and maybe catch up with some friends and have a short walk after.
M. R.
Amazing views but that's about it. Wouldn't bother with the restaurant. They literally remind me of a fancy 7/11 service station with the food quality. The outdoor chairs are filthy and need a good scrub if they can't afford to replace them. A bit of jif and magic eraser would go a long way. And would take 2 people 6 hours which on a wage of $23.00 an hour that's far cheaper than replacing the lot of them. And people might find the outdoor area more appealing.
R. K.
Marvelous place to see sunset. Good cafe. Place to play for kids. Well maintained. Ample parking space.
R. M.
First time in SkyHigh Mt. Dandenong attending wedding. Amazing place to visit, beautiful surroundings and the night sky view to enjoy it. Great wines to choose from, food was ok nothing special in my opinion. The service we received during wedding was amazing. Function manager made us feel welcomed and gave us great experience. 4stars for experience, service and localisation.
R. B.
I love Sky hi. Quite often I go up to the place
to enjoy the view and to have a snack and ice chocolate. I meet people of all races and able to make friends with unexpected visitors from other states. The view is extremely gorgeous and on a sunny day we can see the city signs
from miles away. The place is very clean and the staff are so helpful and friendly. The food at
Sky hi is delicious and reasonably priced.
We are able to sit inside or outside to eat.
We can have a good walk around the Sly hi
garden. There are so many different plants and flowers to see. There is a small snack shop in the garden to quench your thirst. Always something to do and see at Sky hi
One can never enjoy any other places like Sky hi
So make your next Dandenong Mountain visit
to Sky Hi. See you at Sky hi if you happen to go up for fresh air and to see the view of Melbourne City from miles above the sea.
Thank you to all the wonderful staff.
See you next time.
J. B.
The views from this site are amazing. There is a fee to drive up to the restaurant, which goes towards maintaining the beautiful grounds ($8 I think for a car). It is worth it just to sit and enjoy the view with a coffee or stroll through the gardens. The food at the kiosk was a little disappointing, the lady serving was lovely though, we went up there for brunch. Would like to see more healthy options, less sugary and fried food please! Highly recommended the coffee though.
M. S.
The scenery was superb, the views even better. But…
- $8 entry fee
- 15% Public holiday surcharge
- Public holiday menu which was really limited and the two meals we wanted to get were sold out.
- Food was average at best.
Still giving it 4 stars as I feel like it could be better if the regular menu was available.
W.
Went here last night, ALL staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating and left a strong impression. Food was excellent and the environment was very nice. Will go back again
H. M.
You will love ❤️ this place once you visited.
This is nice place to walk and see all the Melbourne 🏙.
R. S.
Great place for a quick getaway from Melbourne. Food options were also good and meals were served very quickly even though they were running busy.
L. J.
Magnificent views, meals lovely and fantastic service. Great place to visit with the family.
M. M.
So don’t get me wrong, the beef short rib was amazing, but can we talk about that mash!? That gloriously buttery silky smooth potato had no right being that good.
A. B.
Amazing views from the top. Good cafe with really good coffee and a restaurant. May have vegan options too. A beautiful English Garden tucked away in a corner as well. Loved it most of all. There are benches there as well where you can have a nice little picnic. No BBQ allowed though, and no ball games for children or dogs. There is a separate BBQ area with 4 BBQ tables which you can book for $2 for 10 mins ($12 for 1 hour). Good experience overall. Parking is charged $8 for 1 car.
P. S.
Loved it..Excellent location, great views and Yumm food in Cafe
A. P.
Great food and service with lovely walks around area plus views out to Port Phillip bay
J. S.
A great place to bring a family or a friend along! Good view of the city too. 😊
L. T.
Spectacular Melbourne city view, especially at the sunset.
Love the wood fired pizza here. But the gardens and the maze need to be looked after and upgraded.
M. N.
Heard that the views were really good here - so perhaps I expected more. You have to pay an every for parking usually but we can't with a school group for a celebration and were directly through easily. The restaurant is quite spacious and easily accommodated our group of students and parents. There is a bar here. Food was quite nice. Staff appeared rather harried serving the food to everyone - the next part of our presentations had already begun by the time the last person got their mains.
M. E.
In terms of views this place is lovely, many platforms and amazing view over the city and surrounding area. In terms of the rest of the park the gardens were underwhelming, half being closed and the maze having an extra fee. If you are planing in catching the bus, this is great and you get a beautiful view for free, however I can't imagine the entry fee for cars is worth the price. This place has big potential but doesn't seems to be executed quite right.
P.
We went on a clear day with the kids and the dog and the views were spectacular. Lots of picnic tables to use and I can imagine it would be a lovely setting for a special occasion. We did the maze which was basic enough for 9 years old to navigate on their own with confidence. I can't say how the food was as we didn't eat there. Worth a stop over even if you don't want to eat there.
E. B.
Probably a safe bet in a busy weekend. The entry fee might deter the great unwashed,, and you should find a parking space (there are 7 separate parking areas).
Well maintained facilities and garden, with a decent view across to the city, which you can easily see on a fine day, providing there's not much smog.
A bistro, a cafe and a garden maze are ready to take your money, extending the pleasure of the experience.
N. J.
A beautiful place to go with friends and family ❤️ if you're going on a very sunny day make sure you carry your sunglasses and hats. Also they have a bistro there for you which serves good food and drinks. You can watch the sunset here, it's beautiful.. stay after sunset to watch Melbourne lights going on, it's a very beautiful sight 🌟
P. H.
Booked our table for just after sunset. Had drinks and chips on the lawn and watched the sun go down with the kookaburras. Went into the bistro for dinner and watched the lights come on. The food was great, so were the staff. Highly recommended.
m. g.
Great views but there is an $8 entry fee
C. W.
One of the best experiences I have had dining in a restaurant. The staff were amazing and very friendly, taking the time to have a chat and cater to all of our needs, including allergies and special requests (I had asked for a flower on our table for my partners birthday, they sourced these specifically to my request and put a flower on every table in the restaurant). Special shout out to our server Deb, who went above and beyond to make our experience the best it could be. We will be back here very soon, highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic dinner or simply a dinner with friends and family. The views too - out of this world!
B. S.
A very 'touristy' menu & venue (in the café, for lunch), but the small portions were tasty.
Staff were really nice, when we mentioned that one item, was not as described on the menu, and corrected the problem quickly & .
Overall, I'd certainly recommend the experience, if you have never seen greater Melbourne, from Mt Dandenong. (take a picnic ;) )
P. A.
Food (dinner) 2 stars, service 5 stars, absolutely fabulous service.
Sadly, I think they need a new chef, higher quality ingredients and a new menu.
Such a shame considering the property is AMAZING.
We left feeling sad that the food could not live up to everything else around it.
j. l.
Beautifull view, have cafe that you can chill, have kid playground also. Entrance fee 8$ per car, maze house 8$ family 22$
Wedding $100+ per head 😋
T. C.
It's a gorgeous place tucked away in the hill, charming place for family fun and a meal with your mates. And with the scenery that it offers, I really can't think of a place other than this.
H. H.
Curvy, hilly drive. Amazing stunning views. Neat clean fresh ambience. Worth going, but better do booking before going. It always bz with events going on.
C. C.
An unbroken view over the ranges - with nature walks, and garden mazes (with a added treasure hunt). It is a great experience, and for 8 bucks for 1 vehicle it's not bad.
L. S.
Beautiful views and lovely gardens for picnics, dogs welcome on leash too! Shame the secret garden and upper toilets were closed though
S. B.
Family friendly picnic areas, great views and large cafes and restaurants.
H. T.
Beautiful place to visit. Nice food and amazing view
A. S.
Nice place to spend a day away from city's hustle and bustle. Not much to see around or do for adults. But some activities for kids. The place is a great spot for a picnic with beautiful Melbourne views in the distance. The service at the restaurant could be better, and so is true for the food. However, the bakery items and desserts were all amazing. Must try their Vanilla slice if you have sweet tooth. There's a fixed 7 dollar entry per car and 5 dollar entry for the maze.
G. S.
Great views of Melbourne’s skyline and suburbs. Although short and limited there are a couple of great walks from the Sky high facility. We found out that there is a entrance fee on arrival but it is acceptable. I would recommend a visit if you are in the area.
S. R.
Location : great and beautiful view
Coffee : too bad
Price : not expected to be high. Why?
Food quality not too bad.
G. W.
Booked for dinner Friday 29th April 2022. Sadly it was pouring with rain, and we were greeted by a charge of $8.00 for parking! We waited for 45 minutes after ordering our meal, seeing later arrivals served sooner. However, when it finally arrived the meal was delicious. 3 stars for the meal.
A. S.
Sky High at the Mount Dandenong is a perfect spot for that cocktail with a sunsets view. If you are lucky and the day is clear, you can also see panoramic view of the Melbourne skyline.
It is also family and solo adventure friendly.
You could hike up the lookout or bike and drive up.
The restaurant at the top could get busy, so book in advance especially during these covid times as the table are reduced.
I have been here few times and all my local friends say doesn't matter if you are new or local in Melbourne, the view from up here doesn't get old. It is quiet especial; while you are there also check out the little garden at the back with lots of pretty flowers and a BIG Wishing tree!
W. A.
Had French Fries and Hot Chocolate there was soo yummy
A. F. (.
My partner and I agreed that it was the best restaurant we've been too! We've eaten at Sounds of Silence, Eureka 89 in the city and many more, but the food here is incredible. We want to go back and try more dishes. Obviously the view is amazing and got to watch a beautiful sunset while we ate. Staff were friendly so they deserve 5 stars
L. H.
Had a wonderful time. The staff were so lovely & accommodating for my dietary requirements. The food was incredible and the view just tops it off. Can't wait to go back again.
A. D.
We had a family birthday dinner at the beautiful Sky High restaurant. It was a wonderful experience. Staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful from the first moment we arrived. The food was delicious. They went out of their way to cater for my daughter who cannot eat many things! It was a lovely quiet environment where we could converse and hear each other easily! That was a real bonus! Would definitely go back!
V. F.
We came with kids. Food generally is good and not expensive, food for two adults and two kids with drinks around 130$(pizza do not order-not good), staff nice and friendly! Really good atmosphere. We got a free entry card for the next visit. We will visit again for sure!
S. S.
Amazing view! You can see whole Melbourne from the top hill-view. There is a small entrance fee. I have tried the restaurant once and the food was good back then.
M. S.
Enjoyed the day out particularly the views, however, the dine in experience was nothing short of very disappointing. Staff looked like they didn't want to be there. Charging patrons that are going to spend money inside, is not only insulting but robbery.
A. T.
Came here for some lunch and the staff were very friendly. Especially the lady that served us, I think her name was Kristina, she was lovely. Thank you :)
P. H. (.
I hadn't been here since 2014 we took our dog there on his birthday, he loved it..
K. T.
Spend NYE at the Bistro 21/22. Had a fantastic night with friends. The service was amazing, food great and the cocktails awesome. Would highly recommend for a great NYE or a beautiful night out.
E. L.
$8 Entrance fee. Although you get a free entrance pass for the next time you go in.
Food is average and slightly expensive for what it's worth.
Lots of tourists.
Garden is average.
The view is nice and unique.
L. W.
A friend and I came here a few days ago, it's the first time I've been in about 20 years. Parking is $7 per car but if you order food from the cafe you get a voucher for free parking on a return visit. I think it's only valid for the current calendar year as mine expires Dec 31st this year.
The staff were lovely and we both ordered sliders and chips from the very basic menu - they were not good. My falafel one was dry and crunchy and the buns were not as fresh as they should be. The beef one was kind of mushy but the flavour was ok and my friend said her chicken one was not bad. At $8 per slider, it's not good value.
The grounds and surrounds, however, are beautiful, with little nooks and crannies and photo opportunities. We were there on a clear, sunny day, so got to appreciate views of our city in the distance as there wasn't too much smog.
There is also a maze at an extra cost of $7 for adults. We hope to do this maze when my husband and I come here for a visit. But perhaps we'll try a pizza next time, hopefully they will be better than the sliders.
D. B.
Had my best mates wedding there last week and it was a fantastic experience. Great venue, staff, food and service. What more could you ask for? Will be back again for sure.
S. s. v.
We enjoyed each and every moment in this trip amazing experience
S. S.
The views are stunning but the entry fee of $8 has covered it, but still they will get 1 point for that.
1 point for the service and cleanliness of tables and rest room as well.
Now coming to food, you spend $25 , and get a burger with stale bun , dry chicken and fries like Macca's !!! Same with prama.
Lot to be done when it comes to food. With that price point , they have to work hard when compared to any of the CBD restaurants , with reg. to quality and portion as well.
N. p.
Great views of Melbourne’s Skyline from the top of Dandenong Ranges. Has a good garden , cafe and restaurant as well. Entry is $7 per car and couple of sculptures and the giant chair to look around. Definitely worth a visit if you are around the Dandenong Ranges.
F. M.
Fantastic place for a little morning trip and a walk with the dog. Dog friendly and some beautiful views. The food could be a little better but the place and friendly staff more than make up for it.
C. V. P.
Probably one of the best or the best place to watch the sunset in Victoria. Stunning!
D. M.
Sky high is a beautiful place to come and visit if in the area. The parks are lovely and the maze is especially fun, for people of all ages. The food was very nice with the chicken parma being a typical pub style.
E. Z.
SkyHigh Mount Dandenong has been a core part of my childhood and adult life and I love the spot.
I've been there as a child, and recently went back here with my children and loved it.
Obviously you get a top view, and the food there is great. We had coffee, icecream, milkshakes (healthy stuff lol) and it was wonderful. Great spot and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
J. W.
Food is actually surprisingly decent, with reasonable quantity, and good facilities for a break when you have been hiking in the mountains for awhile. Equally, a great place to take the family with young kids. Price is somewhat steep, but i guess you would expect that coming to a place like this.
J. T.
Great team and brilliant service from happy staff! Busy day but they gave individual attention
R. G. P.
Went there for the first time on Australia Day with the family for dinner and it was an amazing experience, beautiful view, perfect weather and when we got to dine it was just as good. The food was amazing and service staff were great, I would highly recommend checking out SkyHigh Mount Dandenong.
B. T.
had a wonderful dinner here a few weeks ago, really really nice staff and a well set out dining space.
definitely will be coming back, the food was amazing and so amazingly presented!
J. L.
Great views, great food, and the wait staff were fantastic - genuine smiles and prompt service. They were really nice to us.
C. K.
It's a beautiful scenery from the top. See the city from a far. You can also see Geelong from far away, maybe can see the entire bay area.
If you have a good pair Binoculars it's good to bring them along. Or bring a $1 coin for the public telescope.
Food is good here, you can bring your own too. Please don't throw them all around, keep the place clean.
O. F.
The best thing is the view, as the name suggests. Lovely outdoor seating area but don't expect great food. If you're after a coffee it's fine but everything else is poor.
English garden walk is nice. If you're up for a longer walk there are some good tracks. Plenty of other great walks in the area without the $7 parking fee.
N. K.
SkyHigh is a viewing point/platform in the Dandenong ranges providing a spectacular view of Melbourne. The spot has a cafe and a restaurant. It is a pleasant experience to sit in the cafe for a coffee or stroll around taking in the views of Melbourne. The drive up to the SkyHigh is twisty, but very beautiful.
A. E.
Beautiful views, lovely staff, pretty average expensive food. It’s a pity really, given the views are so spectacular. Inside the restaurant, it’s quite run down too. No table service. Did I mention very expensive.
Before going into the restaurant, I could see myself getting married there. Now, not sure I’ll go back. Could be improved quite easily.
h. g.
Grwat place for a day trip from Melbourne. There is a car parking fees of $7 at entry. Also maze has a separate entry ticket for $7 adults. Place has a nice cafe too. Enjoyable place. View of city is good on a clear day. I visited during day time, must be better at sunset when city lights will add to view. Few things need maintenance like a broken big tap, thus 4 ⭐
D. P.
Nice place. An amazing view point in top. Great place for picnic. Entry fees is just $7, that's for paking the car. If someone need they have nice function area. Also there's a maze which is people can enjoy. Food also delicious. Forest walk also great.
A. K.
Stunning views, however the restaurant is apparently only open , well I don't know. There was very little information about it. The coffee shop was busy and long wait times. Also fairly expensive.
A. C.
Food was fantastic, had three courses and each was quite good. Worth going for the view alone. Highly recommend the Pear Desert.
F. K.
So, an $8.00 car park fee applies beforehand.
A delightful lunch experience up top of the sky high mount Dandenong with scenic views beyond.
g.
Well worth the visit.
The clearer the day the better.
$7.00 entry to the carpark.
Cafe is quite reasonable.
S. H.
We were married at Skyhigh on February 17, what can I say, everything was perfect, our day was sensational, from the staff, the setting, the food were all excellent in every way, Graham the functions manager went above and beyond to make our day perfect, would highly recommend 😊😊
o. d.
Absolutely Amazing location. You have to book a table though to get the best view. Cafe is also very nice.
K.
Huge quantity of food - fish and chips was nice. Staff are nice! Chicken burger wasn't delicious hence the 4 star, else it's a great place.
S. S.
One of the beautiful place in Melbourne. I have been there for so many times but it is never enough. Good outing for family, friends and all age group.
T. K.
Go on a nice clear day to see beautiful views of Melbourne. Car entry is $8 to the area. The Maze is great fun for kids and the gardens/walking areas are beautiful
m. g.
A very beautiful place to spend quality time. Nice views of the city from a well preserved natural space. The restaurant and amenities are very good
S. F.
We ate at picnic benches, was beautiful up there....
N. B.
Hot chocolates, coffee, alcohol, rug up in the evenings
R. F.
We went for a Wedding, it was so special and the staff look after in professional way. We have the ceremony in the closed grassed courtyard. Once again it was brilliant
M. A.
It's a great place to visit and catch a meal. We settled for some sweets since we had already had breakfast and drove up. You can easily see the CBD but the pictures dont donit justice. It's a great family spot.
S. C. (. S.
Ugh the views are so tremendous! Deffs a great spot for an event like NYE or christams or functions! Plenty of gardens and trails to hike and a restaurant, cafe and bar!
R. K.
Amazing view and seating area.
Interesting food menu. Enjoyed the relaxed time
S. M.
A very nice place to spend an hour or two on the top of the Dandenong ranges. Unfortunately they charge entrance now, otherwise 5 stars. They have a few nice little gardens, and great views over distant Melbourne. Kids will definitely have fun coming here with plenty of places for them to play around.
The café is decent but it took us 25 minutes to get 2 coffees, they are a bit slow during busy times with only one person responsible for making all hot beverages.
G. C.
Worth to visit on clear sky day to watch the sunset and specular city view.
D. F.
This afternoon l took 4 friends who have never been to sky high before and they were amazed by how beautiful it was so
I. S.
View is simply breathtaking!
U can spot the city from this height slightly covered by the clouds.
It's also a good place for wedding photos and a picnic!
Restaurant has a covers a spectacular view, however the food unfortunately isn't as amazing as the view. Given the price point I expected a lot more.
Presentation of the food looks alright. We had the beef, lamb and salad.
Service by waitress for our table wasn't bad, however it's a hit and miss with some others waitress.
T. C.
The cafe benefits from the fabulous location, but food was not as good as I expected.
S. V.
Nice location for a restaurant / function centre. The day and night time view from the restaurant is pretty. The staff (Emily and Ashlee) were very friendly and checked up multiple times. The food was nice.
M. I.
....$7 entry per car....beautiful views even on a hazy Autumn days, probably best on weekdays when it's not super busy, if yr going specifically to take fotos....they also do events & were set-up for an outdoor wedding in the little gated garden *looked gorgeous on a sunny day.... Enjoy! ~ : )
M.
Good place for couples and is alright for families has beautiful green walk ways for a walk. Would be boring for kids as it would be not safe to leave them free entrance for car is 7$ and for bus 20$. And remeber to use toilets in right way cheers
H. D.
Nice place for photos and picnics, also it has a great view. However, it costs $8 just to go in and hard to find a car park.
D. L.
Amazing look out and really beautiful place, haven't eaten here in along time but I do remember the food is good
A. K.
Stunning views, however the restaurant is apparently only open , well I don't know. There was very little information about it. The coffee shop was busy and long wait times. Also fairly expensive.
R. F.
We went for a Wedding, it was so special and the staff look after in professional way. We have the ceremony in the closed grassed courtyard. Once again it was brilliant
F. M.
Fantastic place for a little morning trip and a walk with the dog. Dog friendly and some beautiful views. The food could be a little better but the place and friendly staff more than make up for it.
M. M.
Friendly staff, great atmosphere 👌 👍, delicious food 😋
ا. T.
Sky-High is one of my favourite places to spend my weekend. Lovely sceneries, nice picnic areas and decent food from the cafe when it's opened.
Highly recommended 👌
K. V.
Very nice place, very kind workers.
V. V.
Well worth the $8 entry fee, gorgeous view nice spot, cute little garden.
B. J.
You can enjoy a good drive to the place using the safe and well divided road with a lot of turns and bends (driver's delight).
Ample parking spots (7$ for cars).
Best time to be is during the sunset and you get the best view of Melbourne in lights.
There is also a cafe where you can buy snacks, beer and ice creams (affordable).
A. N.
The food was as delicious as the view is beautiful. Service was decent. Would return and reccomend to others.
M. G.
It’s a place I will definitely go back again! Staff were all lovely, the restaurant has a pleasant vibe, and although it was raining most time we were there, we could see part of the sunset from our spot. The highlight of the place was the cocktails and affordable drinks, basic spirits for only $8/9.5 is a bargain compared to the restaurants I’ve been in the city. I can’t not mention the baked ricotta dessert, which brought the perfect combination of different flavours in one dessert.
M. H.
The drive up to there is scenic. The views from the top are great. Sunset is even more amazing. There are some short walking trails around which are good for families as well.
D. L.
Amazing look out and really beautiful place, haven't eaten here in along time but I do remember the food is good
A. W.
It was a really pleasant experience. The staff were very professional and helpful, (especially in this current climate). The food was great, (though a greater selection for choice would have been good). The atmosphere was excellent, especially as the sun went down over the bay & city. Watching the lights illuminating the lower areas around the mountain was spectacular!
S. K.
It is good picknic place situated very near to Melbourne city. It is also called a sunset view point . A nice restaurant attracts the tourist as well as locals.
S. B.
The food here is not so good, and the prices are a bit high too. But the views are awesome from up here. I would suggest watch the sunset over the horizon with some chips and a beer.
J. Y.
Such an amazing view! It is one of the best spot to watch sunset in Melbourne. We got there quite early in the morning but the view was still awesome.
The road to this place is easy to drive, plenty parking space, so many place you could explore on this Mountain. For example 1,000 steps. Many other cafes or good restaurants around there, i remember one of them called “pie in the sky”.
Remember to stop by here guys!
D. M. T. R.
Absolutely stunning place. The salon for events it's great, spacious, organise with an amazing view at sunset. Lovely people working there too.
Magnificent gardens for ceremonies
F. A.
Its a cool place to have a scenic view of Melbourne city. Unfortunately when i went in August it was completely covered in fog but still had a beautiful ambience to click a few pictures. Also there is a trekking path near to the skyhigh mount that offers a beautiful walking experience.
H. D.
Nice place for photos and picnics, also it has a great view. However, it costs $8 just to go in and hard to find a car park.
C. B.
Shyhigh is a nice place. You can go there for a picnic and spend a day there. I was little disappointed with the maze to be honest. The maze is small. Small meaning you finish it about 15 mins. There are other parts you can see, all up you will be finished in 30 mins. The way these guys advertise is not correct. If you see the website you might feel that the maze, the "main attraction" would be large. Unfortunately its not! So this is the only reason i am giving it 3 stars. If you discard that expectation than you are ok. The observatory is quite good. You get to see CBD on a clear day. Its just peaceful and relaxing away for the city buzz. All you need is a picnic rug, drinks and pack few sandwiches. We spent about three hours and it was relaxing.
Will i go there again? Probably not. I can have a picnic anywhere in the area as the dandenong ranges has number of picnic spots. With regards to food, I can probably have better food down the road at olinda or sassafras.
If you are a tourist then i would recommend this. If you are a local then you probably know better palces around.
J. Y.
The service from the lady here was amazing. She looked after us really well. Very prompt and friendly.
However, while the food looked amazing, I couldn’t say the same for the taste. It was all presentation. The chocolate torte I had was relatively bland, with only three basic elements. There wasn’t a great deal of flavour balance. I’d like to say the same with the cocktails. Not the greatest espresso martini I’ve ever had. Still worth a visit in a nice location.
K. D.
Fantastic Christmas Lunch affordable for everyone - good job Skyhigh.
Plenty of fresh seafood including prawns and oysters. Lovely roast meats and vegetables. Cheeses antipasto and desserts laid on.
The views are amazing and the Christmas atmosphere made better by the friendly staff.
Totally enjoyable day.
Absolutely faultless after a very difficult year.
See you again this year!
N. A.
The meals here were perfect when we visited. The food was well cooked, great portions and not over priced. We requested a window seat and we weren't disappointed. The view is spectacular. The staff were polite and efficient. However I feel resteraunt is mildly exaggerated as a description. The area they were serving the meals was closer to am intimate caffe. I actually liked that as it meant less people and less noise but I think the view would have been better from the reception hall upstairs. However i really didnt like that you get charged entry to the mountain when you have reservations for a meal there. Dinners shouldnt have to pay entry. Also the blow flies are a little off putting but ...Straya.
The curtilage is beautifully manicured and there's a lovely area where you could take a picnic. There's also walks and other things to entertain families.
J. M.
Food and views are great - garden maze is a bit of a let down and extra charge on top of your entry fee. Not sure why they charge $6 entry as there are free viewing platforms before reaching skyhigh with just as good views. Mainly a wedding reception venue these days. Not sure I would ever go back. Would take visitors to the other viewing area that you pass on the way up as its free and has a little place for coffe etc across from it.
C. E. T.
Nice ambience for morning tea and there is a nice garden for you to walk around. Unfortunately the weather is cloudy else I can take more photo for the nice city view! I will visit here again :)
R. E.
The service was excellent, the staff were very kind and very respectful, which is very hard to find these days…………………and the quality of the food was amazing and quite large potions too, it was certainly value for money. I booked it well in advance and had the best seating location and was able to watch the sunset on a lovely summers day from SKY HIGH.
I will certainly be coming back for all family celebrations in future.
Thank you SKYHIGH Staff for making this a lovely and memorable evening.
S. Y. L.
The lookout outside the restaurant here unfortunately did not provide a great view as the the trees below blocked a significant portion of the view. When I arrived here on Wed (16/5/2018) afternoon, the restaurant seemed closed, and there were not many people around. The gardens were not particularly interesting, but the red leaves are quite beautiful. There are buses to Belgrave, Upper Ferntree Gully and Croydon, but the frequency is quite low. I fortunately caught a bus to Belgrave at that day after I wandered around for half an hour.
A. P.
Like it though crowded. Very clean and nice cafeteria. Very reasonably priced. Clean toilet.
G. D.
Amazing drive through the woods to some awesome view of the Melbourne city, this place is a must visit. Not too far away from the city and yet gives you sense of the beautiful countryside experience. Can go there anytime of the year!!
J. B.
I ordered the 250g scotch fillet served with crushed potatoes & pepperonata and it was absolutely delicious. I ordered medium rare and it was cooked just how I wanted it. The meal was very full of flavour and a good serving size. I was very impressed with the food and would eat here again.
The atomosphere was slightly pretentious although the service was great and staff were lovely. The view is incredible, I reccomend being there for sunset.
Coffee is terrible, far too hot and watery. Reasonably price for this kind of restaurant. Overall it's definitely worth a visit!
R. P.
It's an amazing view of Melbourne city on skyhigh mount. An extraordinary place where we can spend valuable time on this place. One thing I wish to add in it that this place is on very high point of Melbourne state in Australia, so cold waves always having on high point so winter wether you feel when you reached on skyhigh mount hill point.
m. s.
Bristo Restaurant is good, ambience is good, We went in for sunday dinner. Place was crowded and the sunset and night view was spectacular. The food of the Bristo was above average and satisfactory but not mindblowing. All in all, a good place for fine dine, with awesome view.
J. P.
What an amazing view and interesting place. Not too packed and a great family place.
The parking is $7 per car - not too bad and there is lots of parking.
The maze is absolutely not worth it and should be just free in my opinion.
C. Y.
Great place have to go with your family. You can see the amazing sunset when having dinner. The food is very tasty and high quality and staffs are very friendly. Had a good time with my wife and child. If you are looking for giving a surprise to someone it's a good place to go.
R. N.
Great experience for the kids, amazing view on a nice day (not so great when it's overcast).
A. G.
For a sunny day that would be a Great spot to be in the morning having coffee then start discovering the area after that, you can sight Melbourne’s CBD buildings however you need to pay for a better zooming sort of telescopes to get a close view, plenty of car parks ($7 to get inside). Atmosphere there was relaxing and enjoyable, you can tell it’s a tourist place from other languages heard around.
L. S.
Good restaurant with great views!! Delicious food , friendly staff .
S. K.
Amazing look out, great views from top. Got a restaurant andna bistro . There is a small maze park though little pricy . A good place for food abd view.
M. B.
On a clear day you can't beat this location for lunch or coffee in Melbourne. Whilst the cafe is in a place with an entry fee, a walk around the gardens afterwards makes it worth it. Not to mention the amazing views across Melbourne and beyond.
S. A.
Perfect destination for a relaxing day. The Sky High is a excellent destination on your visit to the Dandenongs. Magnificent views, a walk around the beautiful gardens, wood fire, great food and coffee, very friendly welcoming staff, very clean amenities.
H.
Just beautiful. I tried salmon fillet with leek crush potatoes drizzled with lemon butter.
I love my salmon always but this time potato's stole the show. They were just yum yum.
We went in a group of 20 and every one loved their meal to death.
I missed to take photo of my main dish but remember to take that if dessert.
Highly recommend this restaurant specially for little celebration with your loved ones.
S. S.
Good place to visit. You can see Melbourne city skyline from the top of the mountain. There is a huge chair.
You can walk at the mountain through the bush and woods. You will observe beautiful flat suburban areas from top.
Can watch beautiful birds as well. Good place for hiking
ا. T.
Sky-High is one of my favourite places to spend my weekend. Lovely sceneries, nice picnic areas and decent food from the cafe when it's opened.
Highly recommended 👌
H. B.
Nice place but gets very busy with kids and families. Early morning is the best time to come if you want quiet and serenity but obviously sunset is the best to capture
N. A.
Wonderful sightseeing and very good restaurant at the top. I would recommend you to pull over a few kilometres before your destination and enjoy a bush walk heading to the sky high.
K. P.
Good place to hang out during the weekends. City view from the top. It will be a good view of city on sunny and clear days. Lots of natural sight seeings to enjoy. The Giant Chair is famous.
R. H.
Best to go on a clear day. There is a small surcharge at the gate which you used to get back when you bought a coffee many moons ago but now its just a stright out fee.
Has a lovely small garden out the back, and im sure if your up for a walking adventure many trails to also take.
Great views
A.
Scenic sunset and city night view overseeing whole eastern Melbourne with CBD in distant view. It also has a nice little garden and maize ($18 for 2 adults and 2 children) for kids. Entrance fee to SkyHigh is now $7 per vehicle.
M. M.
Beautiful view must go place, 7 dollars entry ticket and restaurant food is your choice. Loved the place always check the weather.
S.
Seven of us dined on a Saturday night in early December. A great night out with long time friends. Lovely meals and desserts and the best coffee I've had in a long time.
d. o.
If you want to have a wholistic view of Melbourne and the surrounding places of interest to visit, then this is the place.
A. G.
We went through the maze which has many hidden delights. Views from the restaurant were great on a clear day.
A. L.
Our experience at Sky High was fantastic. The staff were lovely and really friendly. The food was great and the view is one of the best in the state. Well worth a the visit.
K. G.
Love the view and appreciate the huge cap. Food is good too. We had the southern chicken burger and vege pasta.
B. K.
Pizza was amazing. View was great. But floor was dirty.
And a few gardens were closed off. Probably shouldn't have charged us the entry fee if things were closed off.
A. H.
Out Of Many Places on My Visit here tO Melbourne, Australia, i find this spot Skyhigh Mount Dandenong Botanic Gardens, really charismatic and full of nature, its filled with Romance, Nature, Bloom, Flowers i mean what else should b there on a romantic date, the Night View is mOre like Just Turning the cOuples On. Amazing.
Breathtaking views.
We went in to watch the sunset and were not disappointed.
The restaurant was booked for a sri Lankan wedding. We got to see the beautiful couple walk in!
I've been there many times before and would go again
A. M.
Nice view. I did check out the restaurant menu and they aren't bad actually. Will come back for a romantic dinner 🤩
A. S.
A breath taking view overlooking Melbourne city. A nice place to enjoy the nature in a secluded area while having access to a restaurant and other services
c.
Beautiful spot, came for a beer and cocktail at sunset👌
However, disappointed to see 'GF' on the menu but this actually meant gluten friendly, not gluten free...which is absurd! This is extremely misleading for coeliacs and I can't believe that there were no true gluten free options that I could have.
a. d.
Been here few times. Enjoyed the views as you can watch the city from afar above and it's beautiful. There's a beautiful garden too with colorful plants, you'll enjoy here with family day trip. Everything is so chilled and relaxing. Good parking space. .
T. M.
Enjoy and brace the pure nature at Sky High
K. M.
Still finding their feet after COVID, however we had a delightful time. The view was absolutely spectacular!
P. H.
Beautiful venue with amazing views. Food left a lot to be desired. I'd only come back for the view!!
J. T.
very picturesque and lots of things to do. good trails, gardens picnic areas toilets and parking. though there is a charge for parking but it's reasonable.
N. C.
Nice little place for watching sunset, gathering, etc. The higher level function room would have better view but didn’t have chance to go in. Lunch fish&chips costs $21. Can get really busy with tour groups. Staffs are very nice and helpful. Food was also quick to deliver.
B. N.
Pretty nice place if you've never been expect all the toilets seem to be shut. Could just be due to covid although it didn't say
S. T.
Beautiful place and beautiful view. It will amaze you that you are 633 metres above sea-level.
Also you have the chice of having a meal, drink or a wedding ceremony!!! It's nice for obe day family getaway even with kids. There's a entrance fee that I can't remember how much but wasn't expensive at all.
Almost forgot that if you feel like having bbq at 633 meters above sea-level you can do it there. They have bbq area with table and seats which had amazing view.
v. d.
Great location, nice view, great for kids and pet friendly.
Only problem i found was with the food, the pizza and taco's are not worth the money spent.
S. L.
Great experience during a weekday! the staff were friendly, prices reasonable for lunch and overall relaxing atmosphere. Would recommend give it a visit on a nice sunny day ☺️
T. I.
Great spot for a coffee beer or wine to overlook the city of melbourne
S. B.
Beautiful view of the Melbourne CBD from the top. Variety of flowers you can find in the garden (Lily, Rose, Rhododendron etc.)
Quality coffee & tea served in the restaurant.
Parking fee applies ($7 in 2020).
N. B.
Beautiful place. Nature plays its own beauty, lovely sculptures. Tasty food n beautiful environment.. must visit.
T. A.
Tasty bistro service for a lunch, with large serves. We enjoyed the special Mexican Parma and Fried Rice. Amazing scenery with views of the CBD and beyond. We were also privileged to say hello to some friendly locals.
T. g. p.
Top views and the best vanila slice always going there with the family amazing place to be.views, the maze , the walks, customer service and also functions room is bespoke
S. W.
Operator/management is wasting a really beautiful spot and opportunity. Nice views on a clear day. Good place to take kids for a wander. The staff are helpful, friendly, and professional. Food is pretty average (stay well away from the pizza). Staff and chefs are doing their absolute best with what they have and it counts toward a better experience. They're great. Picnics are allowed in some areas. Would be a lovely spot for picnic. The gardens are lovely.
E. W.
Beautiful views, picnic areas, BBQ and cafe/restaurant. We went as a family and our young son enjoyed the activities (maze, garden, bridge) available.
J. J.
Great service here and amazing view of Melbourne. Should book early though if you’d like to eat here, especially if you’d like a table near the window as they can get fairly busy at nights. Can’t wait to come back soon when there’s a clear night.
B. K.
The skyline in the top of Skyhigh Mount is fantastic. The restaurant there has good entries but the main meal was burned and my risotto was acid.
S. V.
Best view around. The road there is beautiful and so is the sky high. Worth a visit in a sunny day. Make sure it's not too clouded, else you may not see the city well. Do not order food from the cafe. It tastes bad and it's not fresh. Go to cuckoo restaurant down the road
S.
Visited this month ! Such a great location. We went on a very hot day. It was like 40 degrees in our home but in Mount Dandenong it was chill and warm and really cozy. Such a great place to go. Surely will visit again
A. N.
Great place. Wonderful staff. Plenty of parking spots. Good foodies
A. S.
Our family had a lovely dinner at SkyHigh on a Friday evening.
We requested a window table with the booking which we were delighted to have received. The views were stunning, although the reflection on the glass got in the way a bit.
The food was good and arrived within a reasonable time. We felt that the staff were a bit stretched, but the low number of guests on the day probably justified the management not being able to have more staff on the floor.
J. S.
Situated less than an hour from the Melbourne CBD, on the uppermost reach of the Dandenong Ranges, amid cool ferny glades and lush towering native forests, SkyHigh is one of Victoria’s premier tourist attractions with majestic views to be experienced day or night over the Melbourne skyline.
D. C.
Food was ok, but expensive. Long wait times, but they were busy. Great views and plenty of seating area or picnic spots.
Public toilets are dirty and there's no baby changing facilities
L. C.
The food is really good and the ambiance, fantastic. ideal time to visit here is summer or spring time. Nature lovers will definitely enjoy this place.
Z. S.
We ate 'high tea' their this afternoon, the food came out an a 3 tiere stand. It was all beautiful and fresh, you could tell it was made that day. The view was stunning to look at whilst relaxing for the afternoon. We paid $24 a head, they had a great selection of teas available, I was hoping for a few more savory items. Can't wait to head back again 😊
A. R.
Solid choices, good atmosphere. Diverse menu.
è. s.
Took my GF here for her birthday. Sat right next to window/veiw over the city. Great food and great vegan options. Would recommend
P. R.
I was genuinely surprised and impressed by the quality of food, service and price. I ate the porterhouse which was perfectly cooked and an excellent cut. The atmosphere was light and staff make you and your guests feel welcome. See the attached photos.
E. G.
Amazing views of Melbourne from sky high, food looked great, and the team did great even when it was super busy.
T. K.
Great place to arrive to after a tiring hike at the treks and up the hill. Food is still affordable and there is even ice cream and pops. View is pretty good. But ain't too much to do here. Very friendly staff I would say.
M. S.
Sky High is set amongst the stunning forest of Mt Dandenong, with forest walks available, a gorgeous restaurant, high tea, and a neat little cafe. I feel like a little more attention could be given to the cafe/bar- with a little refurbishment it could look spectacular. It was a touch dated. Perhaps to encourage people to eat at the more expensive restaurant?
The view when we went was a little poor, with visibility being extremely low. I've been before at night and....wow.
To -all- travellers, go when you can see the night lights of Melbourne. That view is breathtaking. As you can see from the photo- going during a warm day produces a nice "Smog" view of our growing city.
The seven dollar entry charge is a little ridiculous. I think with the amount of cars that come through you could easily hit a three dollar/five dollar entry fee. Especially since the maze is also charged to visit.
Make sure you read the story of the Wishing Tree and make a wish in the Wishing Well!
It's worth the drive- just do go at night, bring some change, and get ready to walk.
T. M.
Had a nice coffee and thick shake the view where awsome it was very busy when I went
A. I.
Night visit was very beautiful, magical and a pleasant experience.
Staff are wonderful, polite and very helpful.
Great facilities. There is a restaurant and outdoor Cafe with beautiful music if you want to refresh or have a delicious meal in elegance.
I went at night saw the beautiful lights of the city shimmering beneath the sky full of sparkling stars. There are walks you can do during the day too which I have not done yet but looking forward to doing that next time.
Going at night was a truly magical, wonderful and unforgettable experience.
Entry fee was only $7.00 for us that night which was very reasonable.
Can't wait to do a day time tour.
Highly recommend.
A. W.
It was a good day for a drive and the views were ok except for haze but was a nice afternoon..
R. H.
Tickets are $7 per person! Nice view, not too many people. Some nice sculpture
D. P.
Love the views.
Love the modern upgraded facilities.
Nice place to visit.
Has a maze for the kids ( for a few $$) as well.
I. G.
Spectacular view of Melbourne CBD!
M. L.
A beautiful place to catch the sunset. We had to pay $7 to get in, but it was well worth it for sweeping views of Melbourne City. It was interesting to see tall buildings in one particular spot (CBD surrounded by flat suburbs and St Kilda. There are various viewing platforms and ample space for you to watch the sunset, one of which is at the restuarent but there was a wedding reception. Grab a tea or coffee at the cafe and just relax as you watch the sun go down. Besides the views, there is a small garden, maze and some interesting sculptures.
D. A.
Went for dinner with my partner and was treated to an amazing night out! The staff were super friendly and were really helpful with picking what to order! The food was incredible and filling, we left more than satisfied! Great thing is you can walk around the observatory afterwards to enjoy the view and ease the food coma, plus burn some of those calories you just consumed! Overall 11/10 :D We will be back!
E. B.
A fantastic place to view the general vista...food prices are still pricey but worth it due to the views
J. X.
Great panorama view. Can be a nice day out, picnics bbq even if you Can get the few stovws
B. F.
I didn't go into the cafe/restaurant.
Beautiful gardens to walk around. Great views of Melbourne
I. M.
Been here a few times now. Great place to take visitors to Melbourne. Good view. But too busy during the long weekends however decent service and decent food. Would recommend the visit
M. V.
Spacious car parking. Beautiful lawns to sit and relax. Toilet Facilitates, everything is awesome.
L. d. L.
Good place to do a day visit. Got there cold and foggy though... didn’t see anything at all. It was still a good visit.
M. S.
It’s awesome place and great location with awesome food. Natural beauty of Melbourne. It’s has mind blowing artworks around the place and park. Has enough parking available too.
B. C.
good views. Easy access and enough parking. Kids activities are there but dont expect too much. Cafe is expensive
Y. B.
Beautiful views of Melbourne. Looking forward to having dinner here at the restaurant or maybe even a family BBQ...
D. C.
Amazing view and food. Wish the internet was better tho, couldnt check my bank balance or anything :(
M. G.
Great view and also a good choice for short trips 👌🏼
N. Đ.
Very pretty view to take pictures, where you can see St.Kilda, the sun and the city at once, there's a maze too but it didn't open that day.
B. S.
The view is not as good as it was 20 years ago as the trees have grown. You have to pay to park your car now. $6. But definately worth a trip up to see a sunset from the top deck
C. T.
Great view and lovely food. Have been here multiple times with my partner and always had a good time, very romantic!
C. B.
Visited on a beautiful sunny school holiday day. The weather was perfect and it wasn't too crowded. Food prices aren't cheap but we always pack our own picnic lunch and they're are bbqs available
W. G.
The view was superb just a bit hazy. Though . The service in the restaurant was nothing to write home about . Very questionable .
H. S.
Viewpoint is just okay. Later afternoon / evening time would be better. Toilets and ample parking available. Not much to do. Drive up to Dandenong ranges is great.
K. M.
Great for the kids heaps of things to do during the holidays well priced recommend visiting perfect views great for a packed lunch in the park
A. D.
Awesome view. Great sunset spot. Do visit during night as Melbourne looks spectacular. Cafe over crowed on weekend.
J. K.
Great view, wonderful food and awesome staffs. Food is not pricey for the quantity they serve. Love their porterhouse grass fed steak in medium
A. S.
Enjoy the best view of city Melbourne at this Hill top. It also has an amazing garden to explore.. also don't forget the wishing well and secret garden.. n yes the giant chair.. no words required. 😄
P. T.
I super love this place more so at night as the entire background below twinkles.
Super awesome views and lovely walking tracks around the grounds.
For the curious there is a bistro and a Cafe for the hungry.
A wonderful place to see and sit even if it's to watch the world pass by at a 1000ft.
M. K.
Amazing views especially at sunset. Had a wedding here and staff were friendly and attentive
m. a. h.
Excellent place to have a good Sunset view from top of the mountain
F. T.
Outstanding place, such a nice view n comfortable restaurant. Staff very friendly as well .
s. a.
Picturesque place , with a great wiew of Melbourne. A good place to host weddings ,and parties . The drive up to SkyHigh Mount Dandenong is very scenic with little quaint cottage hidden in the dense trees lined on the route .
B. B. D.
Fantastic views unfortunately it was not today a lot of smog over the city
A. S.
Their food quality are good, also the presentation of them. The location of the bistro is just under the wedding place. You have to order and pay first before they serve them to you.
L. Y.
Price of admission is based on the vehicle. $20 for a bus or van, and slightly less for cars (forgot how much, maybe around $10-18). From there on in, just walk around the area, there are plenty of photo opportunities. Some things to look out for is the English garden, the giant's chair, and the viewing deck that overlooks the city of Melbourne.
J. N.
I would rate the food average. Not "wow yum", just "eh, it's food".
Restaurant cleanliness was just acceptable, could do with more attention to details (e.g. dead bugs on the floor and greasy tables). Customer service throughout was good; friendly and helpful staffs.
Garden maze was nice, easy, quick and fun. Can also explore the surrounding area for free - many families having a little picnic.
There is an entry fee to the premises - motorcycles have a reduced fee.
Good views - a good primary reason to visit this place. Public toilet was not maintained well that day, was a little ghastly to use.
C.
Visited SkyHigh for a wedding on Sunday. The Secret Garden was a beautiful spot for the ceremony. The food and the service at the reception was perfect. Great job by Graham and all the staff.
S. F.
Good place to get a nice view. There isn't much up there but the drive itself makes it worthwhile, and there's even a bus up that way too.
T. C.
Fireworks across Melbourne were very small but it was very special to see the whole city light up like a giant Christmas Tree
s. s.
Wasnt a planned visit, ended up going while driving. Nice place.. they have walk trail and Giants chair..also can do bbq there but pay hourly for gas. Nice coffe place
M. Y.
Located on top of our much beloved Mt Dandenong Ranges, very popular for tourists, weddings, cyclists, hikers, .. not just the locals!! It boasts a both and indoor and outdoor cafe, restaurant, function venue, maze.. One might spot snow once or twice a year! One needs to pay $7 entry fee for cars. However, veterans of the dine in restaurant will be gifted with a free entry coupon for the next visit ! Cyclists and walkers are exempted. People who travel by bus and taxis are also exempted.
E. H.
Has beautiful views and a nice small garden to walk around
L. H.
Worth the 1 hour drive from Melbourne. Beautiful and green scenery the whole drive through the Dandenong Ranges on the way there. Make sure to stop at Sky High Pies though! Best pies in the Ranges. Go at half an hour before sunset, the view is spectacular
C. L.
Staff beautiful, food a little undercooked and not a variety very indian inspired, desserts amazing
A. L.
One of the best place to overview Melbourne. You can get here by bike or by car ($6 for a sedan). The restaurant offers decent coffee and dining options, more importantly, the view is priceless!
S. M.
The views are great, but otherwise this is very much a tourist attraction. Entry costs, the small maze costs, food has a tourist surplus in price (but is pretty good), etc.
N. R.
A place to visit when you are in Melbourne and not too far from the city. Nice ambience and good view .
M. 3.
Had a surprisingly fab meal here last Saturday. The weather was gorgeous, we sat outside at the restaurant, stunning view of Melbourne city in the distance & sunset. The food was fresh, delicious & well presented we had the scallop dish & salmon dish for entrees & shared the lamb, wine was fabulous and only about 10% mark up from bottle shop, really pleased with our night, highly recommend on a warm night.
h.
Nice view of Melbourne from this vantage point. Does get a bit chilly up there it was a few degrees colder than Melbourne city. Not much to do here in winters other than walk around and sight see. $6charge for the car which is reasonable. Good place to spend a few hours
e. c.
It was absolutely beautiful, the food was good and the price is affordable. Amazing view and nice small area for a family bbq, heaps of car park. Just wish the maze was a bit bigger, but we still enjoyed the game. We had fun and amazing place for a wedding, I mean you can have everything there for your special day. I love it🤩❤
D. N.
Beautiful place to be on a fine day. The views are fantastic and the food was excellent.
S. W.
Beautiful day and wonderful view. Goes well together
T. S.
Nice and tasty food, worth the price
R. C.
Probably better at night. During the day I found this place pretty unimpressive. The cafe dominates the space and is very touristy. The service is terrible, I had to wait over 15 mins just for a take away coffee! The view is great but it feels a bit of a rip off paying to get into an area to see a view that is a natural aspect of the area
F. Y. B.
Come here to get relaxed moments out of your busy life. Walk in the bush is awesome experience. Enjoy the peace of nature.
K. S.
Always a great place to take our interstate visitors this time we went with friends to our first every Christmas in July lunch, great atmosphere, great staff and great food. Put us on the list for next year please.
N. B.
The view of Melbourne is nice but not spectacular. The price of entry isn't expensive. It's nice and pretty but I don't think I'll go out of my way to return. I did find a lovely plant that smelled just like candy!
E. K.
Average food, average sitting area. Not much as a view but excellent surrounding gardens. Filthy external toilets.
n. k.
Scenic view , Serene location and well maintained garden! Perfect location for a photo shoots
K.
A beautiful venue for our daughter's wedding. The secret garden is an amazing location with the trees and birdsong accompanying the ceremony. The reception was wonderful with the developing sunset and then the lights of Melbourne slowly appearing. Graham was superb as the host, very hands on and helpful.
C. B.
Delicious food and great staff. Have not been there on a busy night so unsure if quality changes when under pressure.
K. S.
Reasonable $7 entry to enter and park the car. Also dog friendly at the lookout as long at they are on the lead. Drink and food prices are cheap. Strictly no drones (as witnessed when a guy got told off for flying his). Nice gardens. Also saw a public bus stop in use. Will be back again!
T. A. F.
Bistro had quick service. Great views and gardens are beautiful. If you head away from the lookout there are plenty of oaths a bit further down for a quiet walk.
B. C.
The food here was pretty pricey and small proportions. But the view from here is amazing, you can see the whole landscape of the land including the city! Its quite an amazing sight to see to be honest, there is some other activities to do on sky high, the maze was pretty fun and worth checking out if you have time.
U. K.
Nice and relaxing place to visit..plenty of parking but really a cool place to visit..
F. L.
Great coffee and a spectacular view!
L. U.
What a view it was from Mount Dandenong Sky High. I went there at evening time and the view of the entire city was breath taking. It was very beautiful.
V. P.
Beautiful views with delicious food.
We had the steak and butter chicken dishes. Steak was well cooked according to my liking despite the thickness. Quality of the meat was second to none. Steak came with side dishes of broccolini and potato. I would've liked a little more variety with the side veg but it was still delicious. Butter chicken was one of the specials and it was really yummy and authentic. Only criticism for this dish was that they gave tortillas not authentic roti or naan.
The views were spectacular. We arrived just as the sun was setting and they'd reserved a table for us nearest to the window. I would like to see better signage to the restaurant which is why I've given it one start. The signs outside giving directions said 'this way to the bistro' and it was had to discern if this also included the sky high restaurant. We had to ask for directions in order to find it. I also didn't think it was fair to have to pay $7 for parking when you pay for such an expensive meal. Especially when coming at night when you're not even going to see the gardens etc. They give you a free parking permit for next time but it's unlikely people will come that frequently. They should give out free parking ofr those dining at the restaurant or reimbursement of parking if your meal is over a certain amount. Otherwise, a lovely evening.
E. B.
A wonderful place for the family! For hiking and for wanting to see the view of the entire city! Don’t forget to wear your hiking shoes and sun block lotion and shades!
D. H.
Great views from the lookouts and bistro that has some food
A. H.
The view is worth more than five stars! Very greeny environment.
Paying $6 for parking seemed fair enough but food is not that great & the coffee was pretty bad too. They should consider changing the brand to something better!
D. N.
The fantastic panoramic views are obscured by trees. It may be considered controversial, but a few of the 100+ year-old gum trees need to be cut down. The trees blocking the view make the wonderful mountain-top picnic tables into high-altitude re-creation of a park by the riverside.
D. N.
I had a visit here during the summer days and it was awesome. A full view of Melbourne, a grassy area to sit and some benches. There is also a nice garden to walk through which has some nice shaded areas throughout, toilets are available and a restaurant (which I haven't been to). All at the cost of $7.
Unfortunately, the gates are closed after working hours which is disgusting. Mt Dandenong is the highest point in Melbourne and its a bad idea to have the place locked up after hours, the Botanical Gardens aren't locked.
Perhaps have special events when special natural events are on, example put some food on, open the gates and let people in, such a place should never be locked up.
l. n.
Loved the coffee there. Fair price and welcoming
T. D.
Avoid the old Old Coach Rd, see 1ST PHOTO. It's a dirt road, quite dangerous, maybe 40degree steep in places. When I invited Mark's bride to say her vows, she said ".. I promise I will try not to kill you when you make me angry.." - Quite a vow!
R. G.
Had their coffee and Pizza outside at the container restaurant watching the Sunset. Best place for wedding and functions as well👌👌
M. H.
A good place to sit and relax. Beautiful in the evenings and lovely during the day.
R. M.
One can see the whole of Melbourne city from up there. Good place for kids and to go for jungle treks
R. G.
Six of us did N.Y.E. 2020 there and it was great. By all accounts everybody enjoyed their 6 course meals, Mine which was the Vegan option was excellent. Often the Vegans are treated as an after-thought, something to be tolerated rather than embraced, That was not the case that night. Graeme and his team were attentive, polite, the band was great, the Photo booth was a nice touch. Everybody had a fabulous evening. We had done Valentines there a few years back and that was also a great night so they seem consistent in their abilities. I highly recommend them for functions.
S. 9.
It's awesome place to visit. Best view of the city. Don't forget to take your jackets if you a are visiting it in winter. And have a coffee or a tea there.....
s. L.
Located in the top of Mount Dandenong. Very good view from the platform and good driving experience during the up-road to the top! It is better to organise a night trip! However, remember take a coat with you cause it is cold in the mountain!
P. M.
$7.00 entry fee to car park for a car !!
$6.00 for 3 bikes
$6.00 for a slice of banana bread with a coffee, small, at $5.00
Like to support local, but really
M. J.
Amazing views....justice not done by my iPhone. Great ambience. Coffee and dessert were average as the service. No better or worse then anywhere else.
J.
5 star for the amazing view and the friendly staffs. However, food is not that great. Coffee is not the best that we had but it’s not the worst either. Food tastes average - probably we we’re just expecting much considering the price. I love their cakes though. Not our go to place to eat but would be coming back to showcase the Skyhigh’s outrageous view to friends and family.
N. A.
Great place for families and groups nice clean park. Average coffee
R. D.
Good place to take anyone visiting Melbourne.
Entry is $7 per car and you can enjoy the views and the gardens.
The maze is at an extra fee.
D. E.
Good food and nice views in a great location.
M. A.
Great place to see most part of the Dandenong ranges, my daughter enjoyed the maze.
R. M.
Fantastic views - we requested a table next to the window to watch the sunset as we ate dinner. The food, drinks and service was all good. Perhaps a bit overpriced for the portion sizes and quality but the main attraction is the view.
M. J.
Well maintained garden and a beautiful function place. Perfect for wedding
P. K.
The best sunset experience there ever is. Absolutely stunning view and I forgot all about everything else except to enjoy and take pictures there of course.
W. J.
Went on a Friday afternoon hence it wasn't so crowded. My food got snatched by birds but the lady serving us food saw what happened & was kind enough to make me some replacements. The view is a big plus too.
K. M.
this is a great place eith so much distance view. have a picnic or visit the wishing tree
L. J.
Good place with stunning views. Just one thing to highlight for future improvement. I took family there about 10:30am, sat down having coffee. Then gardeners started mowing lawns and blowing leaves while visitors were there. Very noisy and dusty also so we had to leave. It would be nicer if gardening can be arranged during quiet times, maybe before opening?

My wife and I were staying in the Dandenongs for the weekend and decided to make a booking at Sky High for dinner. We completely understand that during COVID restrictions that they were only offering 1.5 hour sittings, which was fine with us.
I received a phone call from a staff member at lunch time to advise we would need to wear masks and that our reserversation was strictly for 5pm to 6:30pm, I had no problem with this although I feel the staff member was quite rude on the phone and it nearly made me want to cancel the booking.
We arrived at 5pm, walked in the restaurant door and wondered if we had entered a fast food store or a fine dining establishment. After reading a confusing sign saying a section was closed, we discovered this was where the dining section was.
The other section was literally a fast food area.
We were taken to our table, drinks ordered and then we ordered entrees. My drink came out within a few minutes, but my wifes did not. Our entrees came put and at this point I queried the whereabouts of my wifes glass of wine - They had clearly forgot.
We had the entree which was delicious and then ordered mains, my wife ordered her steak to be cooked medium rare although it was cooked more so to be medium-well. At nearly $40, you'd expect it to be done right. My meal was the duck, which was good, but under cooked in my opinion, the skin wasn't crispy and the fat had not rendered.
We finished our meal, went to pay and were asked to check our bill at which point we noticed items we had not ordered had been assigned to our table. The staff rectified this, but at an establishment at this "calibre" I would have expected the service to much more professional and the food to be at a higher quality.
Overall, the experience was disappointing.
The highlight of the evening was the Chat Potatoes as a side. Absolutely delicious and well cooked. As for everything else, disappointing is an understatement.
We won't be returning.
Y. T.
We drive up here. It is a nice park. Good view. From Melbourne city to here is roughly one hour drive.
M. M.
Friendly staff, great atmosphere 👌 👍, delicious food 😋
M. G.
Food was good and view of place is also awsome
S. Y.
Good drive and awesome view. Drive slow while coming down the hill.
D. T.
Great for sunsets. However, the wind chill can be very high so bring warm clothes, even in summer. ✌🏼
D. R.
Lots of parking, easy ramp to walk up to cafe and gardens, awesome views!
H. B.
Great views of Melbourne and the bay on clear days. A lovely spot to walk around. The English Garden is very nice.
D. C.
Had a delicious lunch here on Monday. The staff were friendly. The view was misted out but that didn't matter.
j. h.
Beautiful place amazing view, great for family to go around in Sky High.
G. R.
Beautiful view
R. M.
Great views one the city, car parking is expensive though. If you can park elsewhere and walk in then try. Still worth a visit on a clear day however.
k. m.
Beautiful view and amazing driving experience through the dandenong ranges. Best is to book a space before sunset so that you can enjoy dining watching the beautiful sunset. The restaurant is woww!! Food has average taste. Overall, a must visit place in Melbourne 🤩
S. F. C.
The vanilla slice and the my cheesecake there is to die for so are the views
J. S.
I'd give it four stars as the place was ok... But i had to pay $7 entrance fee whereas there are other places you can go to that had more amenities. Plus the toilets were closed and had to walk over to the cafe for relief. Hoping things are better next time.
N. H.
Beautiful view!! Good place for family gathering
E. W.
Sky High is an amazing place to explore for tourist and locals alike. Ideal for budding photographers especially as the sun goes down at twilight. There is also a restaurant for light refreshments, as well as sit down meals. And there is also a small gift shop. Check it out - don't forget you camera :)
V. K. (.
It's pretty ye gotta pay to get in however O:
R. K.
Decent place to get fresh air and have some quality time while looking at the scenery towards city
L. R.
Beautiful views at the sky high. The food was nice . I do think parking should be free or the maze should be free. I don't think there should be an entry fee, then have to pay extra once in .
Overall nice day out.
H. M.
Beautiful view at night. Worth going with your beloved one, creating good memories there.
A. G.
Pretty good service nice food very lame the person I went with :/
n. g.
Stunning view, incredible wedding and food was quite nice.
E. B.
My partner and I had dinner here tonight,
We had the short rib and the chicken breast with the roasted chat potatoes and finished with the Chocolate Delice for dessert..
Reasonable prices, incredible views and very lovely staff.
It was a spectacular meal, would give it a 11/10. Definitely will be going back.
A. G.
Nice views from the top. The drive through the ranges is amazing. Great experience.
G. N.
What a mazing restaurant... I have never ate cheap and delicious food like the one I had last weekend in this restaurant... Chicken were cooked...12/10 😁
G. C.
Stunning location, but menu is pretty boring and old fashioned. Lamb shank was reasonable, nice and tender, a little uninspiring presentation but ok, choc pudding was more like a dry muffin than a nice moist chocolate pudding so was disappointing.
Z. G.
Great place to visit, only had a coffee and will try the food next time
M. L.
Pity about the parking fee. Great place to see Melbourne in a clear day. Don't go if it is cloudy, light rain or pollution
S. H.
Great views of the city and beyond! And the drive up there is not to be missed ⛰🏡🌄🌲👌🏻
Y. R.
First time ever going to the mountain with few friends, I'll be honest, I have never seen a place that beautiful and clean, it was calm and cold, amazing greenery.
Perfect place to relax and meditate.
P. C.
Good place , cafe is good , maze is good but little bit costly I feel you have visor on a clear evening to see Melbourne
r. c.
Lovely place with great amenities and views something for everyone
D. D.
Had dinner at the Sky High restaurant 17/09/2018 celebrating 30 years of marriage. Dinner, hospitality and the evening in all was grand, to put it simply my wife and I had a very pleasant evening in very pleasant surroundings, thanks very much Sky High.
A. H. B.
Been here twice, and always like it! Cool air and great view when you're up there! Last time went there it was foggy though...
