We dined in recently and SOP., the restaurant is fitted out nicely with cosy indoor and outdoor seating, I particularly loved the graffiti wall on the side of the building. A trendy restaurant with a good menu and great service. We shared the arancini, pumpkin & prosciutto pizza and a rocket salad. The arancini had a beautiful golden and crunchy texture and delish filling inside. Pizzas were cooked well with a good base and quality ingredients and the salad refreshing and yum . Thanks for the invite we had a fab time.

The takeaway system was great. I ordered via the phone and the customer service was great, they helped me choose from their great range of pizza's. The pricing was reasonable for the quality of the pizza. I got to the joint in 10 minutes and my pizza's were fresh and ready to pick up. The pizza was delicious. If you want great pizza, with great service and fast production time this is the place to go.

I've recently discovered this little pizza place. They make awesome firewood pizza with quality ingredients. It's definitely become one of my favourite places to go. Would highly recommend if you're in the area and craving pizza!

It's the mark of a kitchen that really know what they're doing when they can make a genuinely good potato pizza. Love this place, excited to see them on the delivery apps now! Beautifully authentic!!! Visited Son of Pizzaiolo in Thornbury on Wednesday night for a catch up with my wonderful friend. Loved the fact that I was able to take advantage of Zomato Gold. Tried: - Porcini Arancini - Linguine Di Mare - Prosciutto Pizza - Pinot Noir Overall we had a wonderful night at this restaurant. The food was delightful with the pasta being a real stand out! Would absolutely recommend and be back again.

I always wanted to try the SOP for a while, but it has been postponed because of the distance, but when I saw them as Zomato Gold partners, this is a perfect excuse. We arrived on Sunday night and this place is very busy. I suggest leaving enough time to find a parking space. Staff are hospitable. We ordered truffles and porcini pasta, linguine and porco porcini pizza. The noodles and truffles have a good taste. The linguine is also delicious, although I prefer my pasta to be more firm (they specify that they cook the pasta on the menu just harden). However, the pizza is amazing! The perfectly cooked base and each ingredient are full of flavor, but work beautifully together. Pork sausages are delicious. I will definitely come back to try more pizza. The venue is casual and casual, perfect for catching up and dating nights.

Every time I go there they always present great meals and always consistency. I always get the pizza margherita along with other items on the menu. Last time we had the arancini balls and pizza pisciotta and all a smash. Service fast, friendly and attentive.

Better than +39 Pizzeria by far. Chunks of fior de latte and nicely fermented dough, it’s so delicious! Desserts were not so great. I wish there was a branch in the city or that they did delivery. It won’t disappoint, if you’re looking for good pizza and service, this is it. UPDATE We’ve been back and they’ve got a new desert menu! Tiramisu is yum and next time will definitely try the ricotta doughnuts.

Made a very last minute booking for our Hens dinner to be here post lockdown. The wait staff were so welcoming and accomodating. The Pizza is very good, Napolitan style, which is delicious. They have very good toppings for all the pizzas. They also have a vegan option cheese which is good too. However, the place is very narrow. We were near the door with waitresses and people passing by touching our table. I think it's worth having one table less but making everyone more comfortable. Next time when I'll book I'm gonna ask to sit elsewhere.

Really disappointed with the service from SOP. It was our first booking and dinner out after a long Melbourne lockdown and we were sent multiple emails and SMS reminders about our booking being until for 1h45m - 6.15 to 8pm. We got there on time, ordered and ate a nice dinner but then at 7.25pm upon going to order another drink at were asked if we could leave in 10 minutes. We didn't want to leave early, for many reasons, and felt entitled to our full booking time, so we asked the waiter to come back in a few minutes. A few minutes later the manager and then another staff member came back and told us we had to leave. We were given different reasons from each staff member and by the sounds of it, they should have just told us when we were being seated that the booking would be for a shorter period and there wouldn't have been this issue. The manager has since been in contact with me and asked me to remove this review, I have edited it because I can't see us ever wanting to return to this restaurant but can respect that it's been a tough few months and they had teething issues upon reopening.

Went here for the first time on Saturday night. We made a booking as we were 8 people and we all loved our food! I’d recommend the Eggplant Parmigiana, Polenta Chips were so light and fluffy inside, Vegano Pizza too! The desserts are big portions so I’d probably share next time. A flat 4 for me. These were reputed to be the best pizzas in near distance. Pretty good tip actually. We all agreed that the pizzas were absolutely superb. As good as I’ve ever had. We had a few of them for the extended group. Goats cheese, proscuitto, salsccia e friarelli, Porto porcini, small garlic and Marguerita. If they’d been warmer, it would have been a higher mark. The only distressing part of the experience was watching anxiously on the app as the food was collected and delivered late and consequently far too cool. You know, I’ve never seen pizza sliced worse than these were - all slices were too big or two small - but that was more cause for amusement than anything else. The pizzas themselves were excellent. Couldn’t fault the toppings, base or overall flavours. I’d get them more often if there was a guarantee they’d be hot.

Right off the bat, the pizza is delicious here. Flavours were great and everything tasted really fresh. Crust was thin, but maybe too thin on some, so some pieces feel apart. Especially those with sour cream on it. Desserts were pretty good, but prefer the pizza when I visit them again. May grab a third one instead of dessert. Staff are attentive and pleasant. The decor is nice and the place has a good atmosphere. The food... Although some dishes were excellent, the overall British cuisine menu is not very British at all. And the major complaint would be the side of crackling, it was deep fried and hard to the point of teeth breaking, there were literally a couple of pieces that could not be chewed through! 🤣 Mentioned this to the waiter and still had to pay for it?!! This is not how you do crackling!

The starters and the main meals were quite good. The dessert was not that spectacular and they pretty well forced us out the door before 10pm. In addition to this they processed a $4 surcharge when we spent almost $290 for paying by card. Seriously?

Exceptionally good pizza restaurant, one of the very few restaurants that excels for me on every level. Service is very friendly and accommodating, staff is always eager to please and help you have a perfect evening. I booked a table online and mentioned I wanted a romantic table for two, received a call from the restaurant asking if it was for a special occasion and if I would like them to organize flowers or a special drink waiting on the table upon arrival - I thought this was extremely thoughtful and a very very nice touch! Food is extremely delicious. We tried a few different pizzas which were all exceptionally good, using fresh, high quality ingredients and are baked on a delicious, thin dough. We also tried the broccoli / goats cheese salad, which was delicious yet maybe a bit too small. Wine choices are great and I also really appreciate being able to order an unlimited amount of sparkling water for only $3 per person (water tastes great, fresh and clear). We also tried the tiramisu which is extremely good! Atmosphere is cosy, everytime we came it's been busy and beautiful. Fridays and weekend evenings can be very busy, so booking ahead is recommended and they also have a time limit for guests during the earlier dinner time. However they mention this in advance, so those who would like to take their time after eating can book a bit later and stay longer. Highly recommended place! One of my favorites!

I've been here before on weekdays and found it delightful. I have to say though my experience for my birthday (which I booked) catch up with friends I hadn't seen in a year last Sunday was disappointing. I understand that the restaurant is busy, however I've worked in the industry in the past and there's a fine line between being helpful and being irritating. I felt that my conversation was constantly interrupted by wait staff to the point where it became upsetting. I had chosen the SOP because of my past experiences and the reviews, but I felt Sunday's experience tainted my view. There is no need to constantly interrupt to ask if we'd ordered yet, you could see I'd only just sat down to join my friends the first time and twice more after that I'm afraid I was deep in a conversation with friends I hadn't seen in a long time. When it came time to try to order a dessert, suddenly the wait staff who had hovered like bees, disappeared. The food too was only OK. I ordered the steak sandwich, it contained thin silvers of meat, nowhere near the juicy steak one would even get from any fast food outlet. The overall experience was one of being rushed and pushed along the line.

Wasn't where I was heading initially. But it had been raining and I got a little wet and a friend I was with we were both famished and came across this place first. Such a good find. I had a tasty thin pizza base called the Little Lamb nicely balanced with simple ingredients, a side of thick cut chips which had a nice crunch to them, followed by a lovely textured tiramisu washed down with a class of sauvignon blanc and a scotch & soda. Good service, but the food is very disappointing.. Semolina chips are just Potato Crocchette with not even a tiny piece of cheese and the oil seems to be really old.. I ordered a bottle of Peroni beer, but they gave me a draf pale ale! Woah woah woah woah woah. Hold up a second... Let me preface this by saying, and I say this with no bravado or ego, but I've eaten a lot of pizza, in a lot of different places. Until today, the absolute granddaddy of all pizzas, worldwide, was Pizza Gusta in Florence, Italy. The crust, the toppings, the sauce, the cheese. Everything was, as you would expect, excellent. Beyond excellent. Seemingly unbeatable. Today, however, everything changed, because my wife and I went to Son of a Pizzaiolo. Everything about the pizza that was perfect in Florence was more perfect here, in this unassuming restaurant in Thornbury. Granted, I'd had a couple of drinks, but this was next. level. pizza. I had a Margherita and added bufallo mozzarella and salami. The result was a pizza the likes of which I have never encountered. Delicious just doesn't do it justice. This was the ultimate moment of pizza perfection. The pinnacle of an art form spanning countless generations of devoted, culinary artists. Crusts - packed full of flavour, crisp yet light and fluffy, with just a hint of char from the oven. Sauce - devine. Salami - a good amount of heat with a rich, savoury flavour, and present in appropriate abundance. Cheese - creamy, silky, tasty. This is the zenith. The high water mark. The be all and end all of, arguably, mankind's finest creation. All hail the new King of the pizza pie. Go see for yourself, but be prepared to eat pizza every day for the next month.

Nice food but misleading waiter who told us there was time limit for booking from Zomato. We had to run to into rain in a freezing night to find another place to order drink and continue unfinished chat with friends. I said sorry to the waiter who asked us to leave but when I checked the booking again after back home, i found there is no time limit on my booking. It is shame that the waiter interrupted the dinner as I actually invited my friends to dinner in this restaurant.
