We’ve all had good burgers in our time but I can say with confidence that this place takes the crown for Burgers! Pick any of their burgers from the menu with their secret sauce buffalo wings and fries and you know you’re on a winner. Ever time we’ve been there, the results are spot on! Will definitely be back very very soon again. Do yourself a favour and head down, you will not be disappointed. Best burgers in Melbourne.

This place is very busy, however, the wait is definitely worth it. I had a Corsair burger, and where do I begin - the patty was a very generous size, and seasoned with more herbs and spices than I could name. The sauces were perfect. If I had to think of something to complain about, it would be how big the burger is. I will definitely go out of my way to stop by again.

Was really impressed with the burgers here (and I generally am not fond of burgers). Sure they were messy to eat (I mean look at the size of them). But I loved the way the man was cooked and all the other flavours that went with. Bun wasn’t soggy even with the sauces. A small eater would struggle to finish one burger. I know I did.

Spitfire is a nice Cafe. Loved its burger which tasted amazingly delicious and juicy, too big and makes you full. It tasted different than other burgers, has a special taste in it. Would recommend trying the burger. Beware, no outside food or drinks allowed and they are not flexible with that, a bit annoying but it's the policy. I have added a photo for the menu.

Cannot recommend this place high enough... It's not just the size of the burgers (which are HUGE) it's the great quality, ambience and the staff that well and truly put this small burger shop on the top of the Mornington Peninsula eateries. The whole restaurant is themed very nicely after WWII planes and it flows nicely into menus, signs and everything within the premises. Ive added photos with my hand as a size reference, check it out, it will not disappoint!

BEST BURGERS IN AUSTRALIA! I say that quite literally. Actually, I'd say they're the best burgers I've had anywhere on the planet (and I've had a fer!). One time I went from Karratha in WA to this place in Rosebud, just for a burger. Seriously; luva girl and I go here everytime I come down to Rosebud. If you're ever in the area you soooo totally have to visit Spitfire's and get something to eat.

Expensive, but delicious. HUGE burgers and the patty is well cooked. Topless or naked is no problem, but you cannot make any alterations. And I really wish places would get over serving food on huge boards. The place itself is really fun with heaps of memorabilia. The menu names are a hoot - I dared my partner to try an AK-47 drink. Loved all the creative names and how they tied in with the food. Service was a bit strange - we weren't allowed to order food when the waitress first approached us, said she was only taking drink orders. But we ordered the coconut cold coffee and that was a delicious treat. Offering take away boxes was great, given the size of the serving.

Came here for a feed after the hot springs, and was it a good decision! Absolutely amazing burgers, the menu has a wide choice of burgers available. They have won multiple awards and I can now see why. Definitely the best burger I have in Melbourne, and the wings were no exception, they were also amazing. Cooked to perfection with the right amount of crispyness. Serving sizes were very big! Staff were very friendly and service was exceptional. Highly recommend and will be returning in the future!

Amazing food, good quality produce, cool decor and awesome vibe. Portions are very generous and very good for value. I had the beef burger, beef patty was juicy and thick with a springy bite (none of that collapsing/falling apart messy stuff), greens fresh and bacon nice n thick. A lot of work has gone into making an awesome shop and lots of care gone into the food and prep. Coffee is great here too, owners are very nice. It was my first time here, highly recommend anyone going past or in the vicinity of Rosebud to check them out.

This is a gem hidden away among a string of shops dotting the Rosebud foreshore. The burgers were enormous and plenty of drink choices including some local beers. We both had a burger with a Mornington Pale Ale and despite a hearty midday appetite struggled and could not finish. Overall it was about $60 for the two of us which for the area is pretty reasonable. As the name suggest the venue is aircraft themed with a strong reference to the Vietnam war. Even had the Vietnamese ice coffee that I will be back for. Go with an appetite and you will not be disappointed.

We had a wonderful burger here as well as the chicken wings. I’d say the chicken wings were better. They were some of the best I’ve ever had. The burger was pretty good, but really difficult to eat because it’s so huge. You definitely get your money’s worth! The price also is reasonable. I’d recommend eating here! WOW. This is a MUST VISIT burger joint if you're around the area! We dropped in after spending the majority of the morning and early afternoon at the Hotsprings meaning we were HUNGRY. Used to love this place. Hadn't been there for a year and my boyfriend and i were excited to finally go back tonight! Unfortunately it was very different. Staff weren't very friendly. When ordering my boyfriend asked for no cucumber in his burger and after the waitress found out it wasn't an allergy she asked if he could just pick it out of the burger ??? So strange for something that's being assembled to order but it's also wasteful. When the burgers arrived they were drowning in tomato sauce. Unfortunately it had a big impact on the overall taste of the burger. But also the patties were very well done (on the menu it says they are cooked medium which they have always been on our previous visits). When our plates were being cleared I let the waitress know I was a bit disappointed with the overcooked patties and she said "ohh" and walked off. That's it. No apology, no "ill tell the chef" no nothing. Very average dinner experience for us especially because we used to love going there! Think they may have changed owners?

3.7 Spitfire was recommended to us by a local who eats here regularly and adores the place and the owners and staff. I also noticed that it’s currently the highest rated place in this area. The local said the food was great and the service exceptional. He’s right. It’s a terrific place. I received a beautiful warm and friendly greeting on arrival. It’s not a large place but it feels good here with an overall Spitfire influenced theme. That’s Spitfire as in Spitfire the old aeroplane. I wasn’t in an adventurous mood so ordered the Spitfire Burger with chips. The chips were delicious. Hot, tasty and beautifully cooked Very generous serve too. Same with the burger. Decent sized. In fact, too big for me to go close to finishing it. It had a good flavoured patty and was also very nicely cooked. This is a good, very well run place. Everything’s in harmony. It’s clearly a much loved place going by the people coming in and out regularly and the warm greetings and conversation I could hear. Nice place. Recommended.

Today went to Spitfire with my son and hubby. Food is beautiful and staff is friendly. We ordered Mustang burger, spicy fried chicken burger, buffalo wings and oreo smoothie. I'll say this is the best fried chicken burger I ever have. The fried chicken is so juicy and succulent. Mustang burger and buffalo wings is tasty too. Oreo smoothie not too sweet just like how I like it. The food portion is SO BIG. Worth of money and definitely will go again!!!!

Ginormous burgers at a great price. I ordered the mustang, it was ok - just had a little too much mustard for my liking. Partner had the spicy one “the Red Baron” and he loved it. Service was friendly but a bit slow. We went on Easter Sunday and the place was packed, servers were not used to it being so chockers (they normally run at half the capacity). I’d recommend going very hungry as portions are out of control large. Wings were great and good selection of sauces.

This place is very unique, it has their own style. Lots of planes and photos etc my son was too busy to look at those items on the wall and ceiling. I spoke to owner or chef and he was very friendly and gave me some information about the planes etc. Food was enroumous and very tasty. Some people leave everything and eat the patty only. I managed to finish all and also this place has all kinds of food and drinks - coffee was great. We had a drip coffee and they know how to make coffee as well as burgers. There was an issue but owner handled very nicely and gently. It may look like "just burger place" but it is more than "just burger shop. I would say "you can experience every types of food and their food will shake your taste buds!!!!

Giant burgers were good, and somewhat flavorful. For our purposes, we really didn't need oversized burgers, so maybe only a 3-star experience for us, but would be a little foolish to markdown the review based on that. But maybe having known the size in advance we might not have ordered an entire kids burger for little Mr 2, who barely scratched the surface of the giant thing. I think someone else commented a smaller burger would let you get all the flavours in each mouthful - yeah, I think that would be a better offering too! But dare say there are many would go here for the giant size of the burgers too; so maybe we'll have to search out another gourmet burger bar more suited to us next time! Nice selection of beers. Chips were good. Plenty of "spitfire" memorabilia on the walls. Quick service. Honestly, if you want giant burgers, can't think of any reason not to go!

I absolutely loved this place. It starts off with the AMAZING milkshake. I literally could not stop drinking... Then I got the Fish and Chips. It only took maybe 20 minutes and the MOUNTAIN of chips had disappeared! I got 2 peices of the most amazing fish I've EVER tasted. Like it was consumed so fast I have no photos. You NEED to go here if it's the last thing you do!!! It is THE BEST.

Not bad, very friendly staff and the food was tasty. Huge burgers are impossible to eat without them falling all over the place which wasn't that much fun. And they served it on a wooden board which I don't feel is hygienic, so that put me off a fair bit. I think the people were great so it's hard to point out the flaws, but if I had known about the wood serving thing I'd have asked if I can get it on a plate. I would go back, if plates were available, but I wouldn't order anything else with a burger as they are huge... And if you're easily embarrassed by your burger disintegrating as you eat it, you might give it a miss.
