Comments of Stokehouse St Kilda

Rarely give 5 stars but I can’t really fault the meal.
Setting is stunning and decor is simple, tasteful and perfect.
Everything was considered and thoughtful. Wine list is lovely, some excellent affordable options (Pooley).
Seafood was perfect and everything put together very well. The meal was staged well with everything following on well and building on the last dish.
Our server was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and attentive without being intrusive.
Very expensive, but worth every penny, $250pp all up with tip.

The view from Stokehouse is diiivine - on a sunny day this is one of my top picks for lunch in Melbourne.
We had such an enjoyable visit, the service was top notch and the food we ordered was light, fresh and delicious. The snacks were probably my favourite on the menu, especially the spanner crab doughnut and the tuna belly nite which were both 💥 The special John Dory was also mouth watering.
It was a weekend lunch and the place was pumping and the vibe was perfect. Stop by the bar for a drink on your way to lunch or enjoy a dessert drink there after perhaps!
Will definitely come back before summer end!

What an amazing experience! The view and ambience were sublime with a delectable menu featuring innovative twists on classic seafood dishes presented by a team who are clearly passionate about local food and wine.
M. F.
We had the chef's experience with the wine matching and we were absolutely thrilled. The food was beyond amazing and the staff were very attentive, friendly and the sommelier was very passionate. You must try Stokehouse for any occasion.
D. P.
Nice dinner with a table by the window overlooking the beach.
Service was great. Food was tasty and served faster than expected.
K. M.
The variety of food, great service and location makes Stokehouse iconic. We chose the chef’s menu, and at $125 a head I think it’s wonderful value.

Cannot begin to explain how incredible dinner was at Stokehouse last night.
The team, the food, the company and the view could not have been better.
Thank you so much ❤️🔥
J. G.
Delicious food with great service and lovely views over the beach. Great for a belated anniversary lunch. Loved how well the staff look after diners - friendly, there when needed and very knowledgeable if you asked a question. Sustainability commitment of the restaurant is pretty cool too.

We had originally made our reservation for a Friday night in July but changed it to late June on a Wednesday night. Upon requesting to change our reservation, the restaurant staff member was more than understanding and hospitable in accommodating our last-minute booking alteration.
Stokehouse is located in St Kilda overlooking the St Kilda foreshore. Upon arriving we noticed the only parking was across the road from the restaurant. It is paid parking until midnight and from midnight onwards, parking is free.
We entered the foyer and took the elevator to level one where we were greeted by the friendly host. After checking into the Covid app we were taken to our table. The table was located towards the back of the restaurant within a cluster of five tables. It was noted that the restaurant seating area was divided into groups and one waiter was assigned to manage all the tables and guests in a particular area. Our waitress was the lovely Dana.
Dana was always on her toes answering all questions asked with a smile and eye contact. Our water glasses were always filled the moment they were empty. We were indecisive on what to order but eventually chose the Stokehouse experience consisting of five smaller portions of dishes to give us a taste of what Stokehouse has to offer.
Some of the dishes included in the Stokehouse experience is the seafood platter, murray cod, lamb saddle and the delicious artichoke with burnt honey & tarragon.
Overall, the Stokehouse experience was worth the money spent. Even though the portions were smaller than the regular meals, the price paid was far less than what we would have paid if we had all ordered individual dishes from the menu.

Absolutely beautiful design (architect talking here) and amazing view (especially from the bar upstairs at sunset!). The restaurant was also a wonderfull experience, top quality food (a French talking here) and great service. We left with hearts filled with joy, and we will come back again! 200% recommended
p.
Amazing food, service and wine list. Definitely worth the visit whilst in Melbourne. Make sure to book a table around sunset time, as it is in prime location right in front of the beach.

We dined at the stokehouse last night for my dads 60th birthday. What a wonderful experience it was. We were looked after by two amazing men- Toby and Tom who went above and beyond for us all night long. They were personable and so attentive, making sure we had everything we needed all night. A great waiter really sets the tone for your evening and these boys both delivered. The food was sensational, each detail carefully done. Everything seasoned perfectly from the starters to the dessert. After we ordered homemade bread arrived on the table- warm straight from the oven and absolutely delicious! Such a great touch! As a vegetarian myself I often struggle at restaurants with meals that seem like a after thought but not tonight. Each vegetarian option was full of flavour and perfectly presented. I also appreciate our waiter Toby going through each item on the menu to let me know which was vegetarian. Something that may seem small but in the 25 years I’ve been vegetarian has only happened one other time. To finish the night a cheese board and candle was brought out and we sung happy birthday to our dad. We spent the night reminiscing on our Favourite memories of him, past present and future. Thank you Stokehouse for making it a night to remember for our family. We will be back!

The most amazing seafood platter I've ever had!
S. D. C.
Food was beautiful presented. Staff were very nice to deal with. Alot of smokey flavours in the dishes this season which kept the Stokehouse Experience menu interesting 😋
D. H.
Our waiter was exceptional, very knowledgeable of both the menu and wines, his service, personality and attention to detail were fantastic, a real asset to Stokehouse. The view, ambience and food make this place a terrific experience, highly recommend

Having lived in Melbourne for over 20 years I had never eaten at the Stokehouse upstairs until tonight. We came to celebrate a friends birthday after the original birthday dinner had been cancelled due to one of Melbournes pop up covid lockdowns.
Tonight we were impressed by the service at Stokehouse from woe to go. We arrived just as the golden hour was settling in and witnessed a spectacular sunset while having cocktails in the bar area. We were in for a late sitting and were hungry by the time we sat down so some decisive decision marking was made. The menu was quite short with 4 starters options, 5 entrees and 5 mains but the covers most bases. We ordered spanner crab dogs and potato cakes for starters and asked that they come at the same time as our calamari entree.
I found the spanner crab dogs quite generous for the price and the entree really was wonderful. I am generally not a fan of cooked tomatoes but in this instance the accompanying cherry toms were exceptional.
Mains for me was always going to be the wagyu sirloin which was cooked medium rear to my liking and came with a fresh salsa verde and bone marrow creme fraiche. Not the most tender cuts I have had in recent time though but certainly had excellent flavour and was perfect accompanied by their potato’s and beans. Others in the group had the Murray cod which came with a mussel escabeche sauce.
The service really shone tonight. Since covid Melbourne service at the high end has been quite average from our experience so it was wonderful that the team at Stokehouse did such a great job of keeping things together and cohesive.
G. P.
Absolutely brilliant is all I can say. From the view to the non alcoholic cocktails we had to the service to the menu (The Stokehouse experience) simply pure magic. Thank you.
S. J.
An all time favourite! I'm still nostalgic about the old building and have so many memories there but now we have a new building for the Stokehouse. The food speaks for itself and our waiter was fantastic! The views are some of the best in Melbourne and even on a cold day!
The wine list is impressive and the food even better.
D. O.
One of the best dining experiences in Melbourne
O. B.
It was my first time to this iconic St Kilda restaurant, and it has truly lived up to its reputation! Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable and lovely; offering wonderful suggestions as we chose our degustation delights.
The food is most worthy of a fine dining restaurant...subtle flavours, fulfilling portion sizes and delicious accompaniments.
Stokehouse...we were stoked to spend our 12month anniversay in your gorgeous restaurant ✨
M. R.
Wow AMAZING food, views, service, staff, such an amazing luncheon, very special date. We both loved it so much thank you.
L. O.
Wonderful service, beautiful decor, always a lovely experience.
The food is excellent we just had a couple of dishes that were lacking in flavour which is the only reason I didn’t go five stars.
We had also requested through different mediums a window table which we didn’t get.
M. S.
Amazing build and fit out. If you are into your architecture you will enjoy this place.
Service was spot on, as expected. Food was far from a left down. Prices were actually quite reasonable for such a high profile restaurant.
Crowd was pretty mature on the night we went but didn’t ooze of snobbery.
Drinks list wasn’t missing much.
All in all, a great place to dine out with whatever crew you are heading out with.
D. P.
Elephant in the room, this place is expensive think easy $200 a head and is worth every cent. 10 of us went upstairs to celebrate a important birthday on a glorious Early summer evening. We started on the deck with a few pre-dinner drinks and it was hard to believe we were in Melbourne (which I love), overlooking a hazy bay as the sun was setting. People walking, riding along the beach, others swimming or just chilling.
We then went to our table and had a fantastic 3 course meal, food was fabulous, stand out desert was the Cherry Ripe, main the streak was great as was the fish, entree loved the scallops. Wine was (expensive) and amazingly good. Service was exceptional.
Yes I liked the place and will go back.
R. M.
Some absolutely amazing food. Great atmosphere and great wait staff
K. C.
What a view of the beach! The prawn tacos were so delicious we tried making our own at home! Although the mains are a little small the sides and bread servings are generous so you don't leave hungry. Having come from Sydney we we're supposed at how good value a restaurant on the beach could be. What amazing service and well trained staff.
R. G.
Date night at Stokehouse - beautiful sunset, magnificent food with wine to match, service as impeccable, Will in particular was excellent.
H. E.
I had heard so much about this place. I wish so much I could give it more... but I can’t. The prices are insane for what you get ... unless you order what I did which was the lamb... and let me tell you ... that lamb was worth every penny... seafood wise ... it was very fishy so a bit disappointing and like I said the price did not match the serving not justified the taste of food ... I am more than happy to pay good money even if portion is small but it has to taste amazing. We had 8 people ... Bill was $990 before tipping (I didn’t tip) and the best part of this place was the drinks and my lamb.... service was outstanding ten times five stars just disappointing about the taste of food/ portion size and price that’s all.
R. M.
Fine dining at its best. Food is well presented and delicious. Steak was perfectly cooked. Extensive drinks menu.
Service was generally excellent whilst the decor and views are superb.
M. J.
Attractive setting on the beachfront. Formal dining as well as a separate bar area with standing and seating sections. Reasonable drinks range. Food was delicious. I recommend fish of the day (king fish when I had it), steak or fish and chips
L. E.
First time there and loved it. Service, food, staff and venue all very good. Was a great night
K. K.
Ill start with we regularly go to restaurants that offer degistation/tasting multi course menus. We came to StokeHouse for my wife's birthday and decided to do the 'StokeHouse Experience' tasting menu. Food quality was excellent, but the portion sizes per course were absolutely on the petit size. For $125 per head, we would usually walk away from fine dining restaurants tasting menu feeling full and content. But not StokeHouse. As I said, quality was excellent, but course size has a lot to be desired for the price. Plenty of other fantastic fine dining restaurants that offer better value for money. Nice view.
M. C.
Had a lovely evening watching the sun go down over a perfect meal to celebrate a birthday for two. Rock oysters beautifully accompanied with dressing and chilli sauce, snapper carpaccio and scallop entree were lovely. We both had beef (eye & sirloin respectively) that was really very good. Wine list excellent and sommelier friendly, attentive and approachable (so tick there). Joe looked after us and made the night in the best way; attentive, charming and hit a relaxed note perfectly. Thank you, we’ll definitely be back!
M. G.
Great location over looking the bay and for people watching. Calamari good and the pork and had great flavor but was a bit cold. Good range of tap beers but could have some local craft on offer plus no alcohol ginger beer.
W. T. S. C.
Love the decor upstairs at the brand new Stokehouse. Love the service from the minute you walk up stairs. The “raw bar” witch multiple choices of seafood, we loved the tuna ceviche. A great wine list, beers and cocktails. All palates are satisfies with multiple meat choices and seafood.
C. B.
The Stokehouse Experience was a superb lunch. Give it a try.
It's a lot better than in the old days, when it was a noisy barn.
A. S.
Popped into StokeBar upstairs to unwind and have a drink. Impressed with the location and drinks menu. There is table service and the staff were friendly. Limited seats available on the balcony but the decor and atmosphere is as pleasant inside as the views on the balcony overlooking the beach.
K.
Good ambience and food is generally okay, but not to my preference compared to other fine dining places. It had the presentation but taste was not as flavorful. I did like the dessert 'the bombe' though. Service was okay with waiters attentive and polite.
C. B.
Lovely spot for lunch. The customer service was fantastic, as was the wine list and the sommeliers knowledge was top notch. I would definitely recommend it and would go again.
J. C.
Always an exceptional meal and night out
Try and get there for cocktail on the deck for sunset and seafood for entree
J. M.
Absolutely sensational as always.
This is our birthday dinner place.
Very progressive with two zero-alcohol beers on the list.
So nice to be able to get back.
N. L.
Came here for a work Christmas function. WHAT A VIEW!!! Fantastic bar, lovely service, and great knowledgeable staff. The food was hit and miss, 50% amazing and the other 50%...disappointing. Overall pleasant dinner function. Will come back for the bar and view!
M.
Exceptional view, food and service. Great place to spend the afternoon dinning and taking in the view of the St Kilda boardwalk. Upstairs bar is great for a aperitif. For those international diners a must place to book.
M. I.
I recommend this place for special occasions!
The food was amazing and all the staffs were very professional and polite. But the portions are small and it’s a little bit pricey.
B.
Upstairs at Stokehouse is lovely. The food was very good to excellent. We really enjoyed the wines we had from their list. Better than expected.
My only criticism was the pace of the waiting service. I understand the two hour window so you can get two dinner services in, but we really felt pushed and slightly harried to order both food and wine. We'd barely been seated, and were clearly in the middle of exchanging gifts when we were asked, twice, if we were ready to order. We hadn't even opened the wine menu at that point. However later on, when waiting to order dessert and get the bill, we had to wait a long time.
Wouldn't put us off going again though! The staff were charming and we had a delicious meal. Thoroughly recommended.

My favorite restaurant in Melbourne! Layout,
Food, Staff, Service, Views, Cocktails!
The bar area and terrace is really something to see and experience. Peak view overlooking the stunning ocean and MAGESTIC sunsets!... Nobody can be in a bad mood up there or ever has been in my experience. It is pricey but well worth it! The view is DIVINE!
This is becoming a weekly ritual. Prime location and a top spot after a game of golf at Albert Park nearby. Wear formal attire or glam up if you can, especially in the evenings and when dining in the restaurant. You can enjoy a cocktail and snack at the terrace even if you are not wanting to dine, or just fancy a drop in for cocktail hour!
I find the crowds friendly and unpretentious. Have met some really lovely people up there and my family enjoy it too. Don't confuse it with downstairs, you must go upstairs to get to the Stokhouse. Pontoon is downstairs. People often get it confused as the old Stokehouse was downstairs!
Finally, cocktails in this venue are on point. Staff and Chefs are down to earth, friendly and SKILLED. Love must be their secret ingredient as everything is delicious and this is my happy place. 🙂💖
The barmen are also handsome so the view is really nice on the inside too! 😅
Thanking Angie, Olie, Lee, Mateo and Henry (to name a few), for your amazing personalities and quality service. Also Josh for making the best Negroni I've ever had! Love your work!
Thank you Stokehouse for your consistent excellence and being fabulous!
R. R.
Excellent service, amazing food, wine and cocktails
P. J.
Attractive setting on the beachfront. Formal dining as well as a separate bar area with standing and seating sections. Reasonable drinks range. Food was delicious!!
S. B.
Beautiful venue. Great food. Fabulous service. Obviously very expensive but it worth it once in a while. They don’t have many vegetarian options (only one main) but it’s a very unique one.
j. h.
The atmosphere was light and airy. The staffs service was excellent and the food was to die for not to mention the view to st Kilda beach.
L. M.
Wonderful food, service and location. A must for special occasions.
W. S.
Overpriced cocktails and small portions. Excellent quality food. Extensive wine list. Glamourous atmosphere. Beautiful ocean & sunset view. Splurge here only if you have money to burn or want to impress your date.
T. M.
In one word excellent, food superb, service faultless, view fantastic.
V. D.
One of the best restaurants in the best location.
Located right on beautiful Stkilda beach among parks lined with palms.
The beach located right on it's doorstep with magnificent views of Port Phillip Bay.
Stokehouse have a award winning chefs outfit offering some of the best culinary dishes in melbourne.
Top this off with probably one of melbournes best large wine selections.
The FOH staff are so warm welcoming and professional with great trained knowledge of their availability offerings to customers.
Sunsets are to adore anytime of the year here especially for those seeking that romantic dining occasion topped off with a sweet walk along the beach afterwards.
My rating is 11⭐
M. B.
It’s always great coming here, having a drink and watching the world go by. Service is always great, food list is fine, bar service is always friendly and prompt. I keep coming back
K. W.
Unencumbered views of St Kilda beach. The rotating menu means you’ll always something in season but I really enjoyed the fried chicken canapés. This stunning restaurant has a whole room of wine to choose from and knowledgeable staff to help you choose. Be sure to book as the weekend can fill up fast. This is a great spot for special occasions.
G. S.
Absolutely amazing experience! Food was great, exceptionally good service. All in all I would rate an almost perfect 10/10
N. B.
Stunning views and food selection. A lovely mix of fresh seafood, meats and pasta for a fine dining experience that isn’t to overly priced.
M. A.
First time visiting! View is amazing, reminds me of the Nobu in LA... oysters yum small like I like them, bread and the cheese dip stuff is amazing we got 3 serves. Parmesan chips were very distinctive flavour, corn risotto was nice, different flavour but nice. Prawn taco was nice but again different to what I’m use to. Guys had steak and pork.. apparently pork is the best he has had!!! Worth the visit, book ahead and ask for a window seat if it’s sun set!
Ю. S.
Best view 😍 upstairs 👌
S. G.
1st time at the STOKEHOUSE & absolutely loved it. Very delicious seafood platter & sides.
A. B.
Our table was a bit delayed, however, our server was great.
The food was just amazing, we ordered only fish dishes.
Everything came out in good time and was well balanced and flavourful.
A great celebration for my birthday.
S. A.
AMAZING steak and the view of the ocean/beach is perfect! The bar is awesome too and excellent service. Id highly recommend and would definitely go back!
M. G. M. Z. B.
Price is high... really really high, comparing the food. Location is nice. There is a big window glass you can sit next to.
B. E.
Great place, I come here often. Amazing vibe when you first walk in and the staff are very friendly. The food is always top quality.
A. S.
Great fish n chips from the outside cafe. I didn't realise this was offered despite been a stoke house regular for decades. Excellent, fresh food. Highly recommend fish n chips on the beach
A. C.
Very delicious and reasonably priced dinner with a view. Sunset dinner is incredible. Wow
b. t.
STOKEBAR offers a new way to experience Stokehouse, catch up with friends for drinks in a prime location. Enjoy some sea air on the terrace – perfectly positioned to capture the sunshine. Indulge in fresh, contemporary cocktails, order from the award-winning wine list, enjoy a snack from the Raw Bar menu or share a dessert.
S. H.
Fabulous nautical experience, delightful staff, loved the chefs selection menu - delicious..!!
L. Y. X.
been here few times , views are AWESOME!!
plenty of choices of drinks.
you will have a great time here for sure .

We attended on a Thursday night and the restaurant looked completely full. The service was good, attentive and friendly but the upselling was definitely in the staff's training package. The new restaurant fails in capturing any of the atmosphere the old stoke house had, timber walls, floors and large windows exacerbate the sound level - perhaps further devouring the atmosphere of the restaurant and resembling a Fast Food restaurant overtaken by a class of year 7's.
The owners have opted for the modern sophisticated approach - original but perhaps what the market demands in 2017. The food was very well presented, of good quality and mostly fairly priced. Portions were perhaps on the smaller side.
Sitting there I was thinking the view of the esplanade and bay are perhaps the only similarity this restaurant has with the old until I had seen a couple sitting in the downstairs outside area enjoying a glass of red.
J. C.
What a fabulous experience we had at Easter lunch - we had the bottomless Bollinger package and the entire experience was perfect. All the staff were on point, very professional yet friendly and engaging and made sure to keep topping us up. The venue is stunning and the food was beautiful. Cannot fault. Thanks guys!
J. M.
We went for an Easter set menu brunch today. Everything was good however our waiter was rude and just no pleasant at all. We'd all sat down and stayed in our seats from the beginning. Only one other couple joined after our starters arrived. When the various mains came out, several of us had ordered the sirloin steak cooked at different temperatures. The waiter gave us attitude when I was given the rarer one and I said I'd ordered medium rare. His pitiful excuse was that we'd all moved around. We didn't. Don't blame the guests for your incompetence. Not acceptable in this kind of establishment. You're charging us a holiday surcharge so do your job and be pleasant at the very least. Very irritated by his arrogance and rude attitude. For the record he was Irish (not that that is an issue in itself - just so we know who we are talking about)....
K. I.
Food was delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful and the service from our waiter Alex was impeccable. Highly recommend.
A. P.
Great food, service and ambience. Will definitely be recommending Stokehouse to friends and family!
L. K.
Great food, great service, great staff. Nice place for a special occasion.
B. V.
The atmosphere is a bit austere and a lot more formal than the pre-fire downstairs Stokehouse, which is not necessarily a bad thing. But I do miss the food menu. There is, of course, the Stokehouse restaurant, but it's not really a place for a casual drop in for a drink and a nice bite. The downstairs space appears to have been rented out to a very casual and noisy bar, but it's completely out of keeping with the new or even the old Stokehouse aesthetic (we accidentally sat downstairs thinking it was the "new" Stokehouse bar until I looked at the state of the table - worse for wear - and the general fit out and realised it was the wrong place to be). All that being said, the upstairs bar is a nice spot for the grownups, excellent cocktails and a beautiful view across the bay.
A. G.
Had an amazing lunch on Sunday. The food and wine was absolutely beautiful and you could not fault the service. As a first timer to Stokehouse I will definitely be a return customer
M. T.
Great food and wine experience, with first class service. We loved it and will be back.
T. T.
We only got French fries and they were extremely fresh and crunchy.
A. P.
The food is good and the view is exceptional. The service is really good and fast. The food presented beautifully and taste is good for the price. Great selection of Wine and liquor as well
J. C.
Beautiful long lunch, have always wanted to go and did not disappoint. Views were devine.
A. W.
Great location on the Esplanade on St Kilda Beach. Very knowledgeable staff and great presentation with the food. Extensive drinks menu. Highly recommended.
J. B.
Delicious food, wonderful service and unbeatable location. We are local but coming to Stokehouse always feels special. Their food is always perfect, they manage to make something special from everyday ingredients! Thanks to the team at Stokehouse and special callout to our waitress, Julia for the lovely time.
S. S.
Sunset, beachside drinks, yummy food, couldn't ask for much more.
d. w.
Pontoon is a great place for a drink on a sunny day watching the world go by on st Kilda beach
J. H.
Came here for a work lunch function and very pleasantly surprised. The view was awesome, the food was impeccable and the service was great.
H. J.
Incredible restaurant, I absolutely recommend a visit while in St Kilda, or as a place to travel to from elsewhere in Melbourne.
The view is stunning and their food is fantastic!
C. P.
Great location and good food but the most unfriendly staff i met within 15 days in Australia
K. T.
Amazing place, food, staff and view. Booked last night for me birthday and i made a mistake and booked for the wrong night, staff where so helpful and friendly and managed to accomodate us. Big thank you and can't wait to get back. Once again thanks guys
M. B.
Very nice. Great cocktails. Nice starters. The best view! Amazing waiters. Pricey but also very special tasty food.
We enjoyed ourselves and our waiter was great.
The only whops was that they served a snack for me that had dairy in it even though I am intolerant and allergic but they where so awesome and nice to apologize and it ended up being total worth it.
Thank you and I will see you again!
P. Y.
Lovely location. Considerate staff. Very covid safe. Go if you like fancy pants type meals but I needed a snack when I got home.
S. S.
Gorgeous venue overlooking St Kilda beach, try and get a table with a view and we were put next to the wall that had restricted views. The service was great and they had extensive knowledge of the wine list. Most of our food was excellent, the appetisers and starters were great however I ordered eggplant for main which was pretty flavourless which was a shame. Overall though, it was a good dining experience.
K. W.
Great food, great service, Greater sommelier who's know his stuff... Definitely a great comeback to a amazing place
G.
Just as good as the original was if not better. We’ll be back.
a. m.
Ate lunch here on Saturday. Superb food and lovely atmosphere. Highly recommend.
J. J.
Brillant location & layout. Service was top notch thanks to Alex who made everything effortless and enjoyable - grazie! If unsure on the main course opt for the lamb over the John Dory👌 Bar staff slightly too pushy to sell but other than that great spot & recommended.
J. R.
Stopped by on our walk along the beach.
Food was good Beer selection was great.
T. M.
A quintessential 'Melbourne' experience. A trying year for all in hospitality and it was fantastic to be back at the Stokehouse and enjoy great food, great service and great ambience. The team here (like most of hospo) are working their butts off in peak season with fewer numbers in their ranks than ever and ought to be appreciated for pushing through. Love visiting Stokehouse.
s.
Beautiful rundown of the specials, service was delightful, very friendly and professional. The food left me speechless, incredibly rich in flavour and absolutely was incredible, I am beyond impressed!
C. W.
The food and wine was good. Dessert was very delicious. However, the overall feeling was that the restaurant running style was very commercial, bit cold, no warmth.
A. B.
They have dropped the ball upstairs, uninspiring food and deserts.
Sauces, 3/10.
Presentation 5/10.
Taste 4/10.
Service 6/10.
Sadly disappointed, maybe downstairs is still fine.
J. A. L.
Definitely a new experience to the old Stokehouse. Still a classy affair. Exceptional service. Make sure to arrive early for a drink in the bar upstairs
R. A.
Elegant fine dining with a beautiful view. Perfect for special occasions.
P. C.
Fantastic location and great food. Wonderful experience
L. T.
Had lunch here and was very impressed. Really nice venue with a great view of the ocean if you are facing that side. People who book the earliest are given priority over the tables by the window, so bear that in mind when booking and you definitely need a reservation whether going for lunch or dinner. Food was pretty good, apparently the steak was excellent. The staff were very friendly and pleasant, the sommelier especially.
E. F.
Delicious and well presented meals, a superb wine list and a friendly non-intrusive professional service. Thank you for a fantastic night!
S. M.
As with all restaurants with a water view and crisp white tablecloths, I think Stokehouse prices are higher than they need to be, however in all other aspects I've had a very enjoyable experience.
The staff were welcoming and friendly; I frequently enjoy dining alone and value excellent attentive customer service. They knew the menu in detail and were able to make well-informed recommendations.
I was only after something quick and light, and with the complimentary bread and buffalo cheese with olive oil dip, a simple side and salad were sufficient. The flavours were delicate and celebrated each of the simple ingredients.
The decor was tasteful and complimented nature's beauty with elegant style.

Amazing place to spend time during Lockdown days.
H. A.
Okay, words can not describe the culinary experience we had at Smokehouse! Every single item we ordered was heavenly. Order the Ceviche, it is probably the best I've ever tasted. The steak was perfectly prepared, and frankly I can not think of a single thing that did not impress us. Everyone was friendly and helpful. I'd go back there any day of the week (if I could afford to).
M. C.
Fantastic view and atmosphere. Dishes well seasoned, great wine list and service. Well worth the visit
C. S.
We returned to the Stokehouse for another meal, this time celebrating my wife's birthday. The food and service were up to their usual high standards. This is our go to place when we want a quick bite to eat (downstairs) and if we are wanting to go the full dining experience we head up stairs. Quality produce and extensive quality wine list
S.
For the price. - much better alternatives out there.
First we were all boxed in. The beautiful water views were missing. The blinds were closed. You could have been eating anywhere.
Excellent wine cellar. Pricey though with big mark ups. Check Vivino before buying.
Bread was very good (as were the sides - chips)
Entree seared tuna was superb. The highlight of the meal.
Main fish was just ok. Extremely bland. People on our table had steak but it was poorly received. One person sent it back for the fish.
Desert of cheese was utterly bland and tasteless. Two people had the ice cream. Both left it untouched after one mouthful. Not sure how you can get ice cream wrong but they did.
For $110 + drinks I would not come again.
The overall theme from the group is the food lacks real warmth and taste. Where is the soul ?
J. B.
Gorgeous dining experience. Food was delish and the service great (thanks Matteo!)
M. K.
The quality and precision of the food was beyond impressive. Rib eye cooked to perfection and side dishes were amazing. The views are 10/10. I was most impressed by the professionalism and knowledge of the staff.
J. M.
Nice dinner looking over the ocean. Perfect!
L. C.
Great place for some pricey good and drinks!
C. P.
Great service from all staff members. When I booked online I made a request for a table with an ocean view to celebrate our first wedding anniversary. On arrival, we were received warmly, congratulated and kindly informed that we had our table booked for two sittings back-to-back so that we didn’t have rush and we had the best seat in the house!
The cocktails were incredible (highly recommend the Little Birdy). The oysters were some of the best we’ve ever had. And the steak was amazing.
Thanks Stokehouse team!
M. C.
My husband and I had a lovely dining experience. The food was excellent and even though one of the staff forgot to bring out our oysters, we still had a fantastic experience! So much attention to detail, there was so much care given to us. The only reason why I’m only giving Stokehouse 4 stars is that the windows could have been cleaner. The design of the windows makes them very tricky to clean, I understand this, but if the view is one of the reasons why this restaurant is so popular, then I think this really needs to be looked after. The salt and dirt on them was all I could see when looking out the window! We’ll still certainly be back regardless
A. C.
It doesn't meet the hype. Great location, however the venue itself appears unfinished. We thought we were going for a fine dining experience upstairs, but were met with a casual lunch that was at the same level as an upmarket pub. The service left us waiting for long periods and was not what you would expect for the price point. The food was simple and unsophisticated. Some may love, but like us others will walk away disappointed and thinking should I go back?
I.
Great views impressive food attentive service
J. G.
We had a fabulous night here! I’ve been a few times but last night stood out as our waiter (Sebastian) was fantastic and read the situation perfectly (work dinner) and took charge with suggestions and we left it all to him. He chose so well and not too much, and really set the tone without interruptions. The somm also was fantastic choosing interesting great wines and taking the time to chat to us about them. And seemingly genuinely interested in chatting about them! 😂
Always a great place for so many occasions.
B. M.
Unbeatable food, service and views. A must !
G. A.
Firstly, the white chocolate mousse + blueberry & chocolate brownie cake we pre-ordered was DIVINE. Everyone on our table absolutely raved about it - perfect way to end our evening with a light and delicious dessert.
The wagyu was delicious and the 'Fish and Chips' (K.G. whiting) was perfectly portioned and a beautiful piece of fish. Even though we had a miscommunication about two of our orders, the staff were completely accommodating and resolved the situation quickly and with no fuss. We had a stunning view of the bay at sunset. The downside: we had a bit of a long wait for food and the noisy atmosphere contributed to a few misunderstandings with the staff.
A. H.
Amazing service, location, menu! From the wonderful bar and wait staff, to the inventive and delicious dishes on offer, there is nothing to fault about this beach front restaurant! My only regret was having breakfast before coming here. We had a few snack menu items (smoked eel toast, tuna, fish tacos) and the 2 main specials (bug and wagyu 8+ marble score yum!). Need to come back and try the fish and chips, we had food envy from other tables!! Would give 6 stars out of 5 if it were possible.
V. D.
Quite disappointing. Told on arrival by a fairly apprupt host that we only had two hours. Service was very rushed and not what I would expect from a high end restaurant no one came to ask about help with the wine. The food was so so - a rather overpriced experienced. Good views though.
J. T.
Went there for a Xmas party so it was a set menu. But the food was superb. Service was excellent and the atmosphere was great.
The only thing I can complain about was finding the place. There's no signage until you actually get inside the building
E. P. L. M.
We finally visited the new Stokehouse on Valentines day for lunch. The staff were friendly, the coffee was great and the cocktails were original and delicious. They describe it as 'relaxed formal' which I think is a great description for a fine dining restaurant overlooking St Kilda beach.
The restaurant had set menu for Valentines but we chose to order a la carte. The staff were really helpful with menu suggestions and we ended up shared several starters and entrees and then had the lamb and the flaxseed gnocchi for mains. Everything was perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and tasted amazing.
We finished up with two perfect desserts and the moved to the bar for a final glass of champagne looking out over the sand and sea.
Stokehouse is on the pricey side, as you'd expect from a fine dining restaurant on the beach - however the food is fabulous and it's definitely worth considering for a special occasion. They also have a more casual bar and a fish and chip kiosk downstairs if you're looking for great food with a more accessible price tag
S. K.
Had a great meal here just after COVID lockdown. Wonderful staff, great food, great experience.
Really enjoyed chatting with the sommelier who had great recommendations. He suggested a local Cabernet Franc, I love Cabernet Franc!
J. A.
Delicious as always, fantastic service
C. P.
Outlook is amazing and service is impeccable. Food was ok. Had to send lamb back even though we asked for medium. Fish and chips were good. Entrees were all too cold to be able to taste that much.
T. S.
Good food... Only complaint was that the gar fish was riddled with bones. Sides were very tasty and the lamb was a treat. Beer selection seemed limited for the scale of the venue. Pricey too... But because it is a nice place.
W. O.
Honestly one of the best meals I’ve ever had the Steak my gosh
We came down from Brisbane and yes the cost is high
But you get what you pay for.
Waiters were genuine and friendly
Not pretentious at all Top up your glasses as soon as they are Low.
Loved it.
For those who winge about it must be the sort who complain about everything
Warren
J. E.
Top class service and food upstairs in the restaurant! Very pricey but worth the experience. Amazing wine list and desserts you must leave room for or just over do it because the 4 course options beforehand will certainly tempt you to try one of each! Amazing views!
R. W.
Awesome food and service.
Great place to enjoy the view of the bay.
The wait staff are 2nd to none.
S. T.
Visited again the Stokehouse after approx 12 months. Food and wine a knock out! The raw bar was exceptional and the lamb main superb.
Great advice from staff about what’s what. Efficient and fun service without being overbearing nor stuffy. Bang on Melbourne fine dining. We’ll be back again and again.
E. A.
A refined dinner experience. Attention to detail in food taste and presentation. Large markup on international wines. Waiter staff a little run off their feet on a Saturday night causing some delays and confusion. Great addition to the variety on the Melbourne coastline.
W. G.
From the glorious views across the Bay to the extensive wine list and friendly service, our special family lunch exceeded expectations. The food was not only delicious but beautifully presented from the squid terrine to the lamb with the amazing smoked eggplant.
T. E.
Tries to be upmarket but doesn’t delivered to match the price tag. Service was pretentious yet inaccurate. Spectacular view and designed venue.
But
THE NEW, REBUILT STOKEHOUSE IS NOTHING LIKE THE ONE in 2017. WAY WAY BETTER THANKFULLY.
The menu rises to its price tag and the options are varied and to most patrons tastes. The staff are super courteous and attentive.
It was hard to hear in there though. It was crowded, to many tables and a standing bar crowd that spills into the restaurant space way too easily. It would be kind to call the bar crowd as just that. In fact they are excited squawkers who conversation was easier to hear than the one at my table. The racket devalues the experience. With time the older folk with the midweek money will stop coming for fear of the bar crowd.
Grandma would have to be a lip reading master but even the able-eared give up trying after a while. Whereas the tables are spacious and would be perfect in a place where quiet conversation is the vibe this place if it wants noise and tables in the same space needs cheek to cheek seating not dining tables.
Have to make a choice guys. Are you for the young only or do you want the discriminating dining out crowd?
P. C.
Great view over the beach and excellent, friendly service. Food and cocktails were good - our ceviche was delicious and the steak was properly cooked as ordered. The bread was some of the best I had in many years.
B. R.
Location and service amazing.
Food is average for top dollar prices - except for the really fresh oysters.
The menu needs to step it up to match the greatness of everything else. I wouldn’t return on that basis as Donovan’s has the complete package
K. E.
Thank you Stokehouse for making our 10th wedding anniversary a very memorable night. From the moment we walked in the door, your service was first class. We loved everything about our night, the view, the food, the wine, the service. Can't wait to come back!
N. C.
Great food & design of the place, and delicious drinks. Waiters and waitresses are top-class but the front-desk staff were rudely trying to turn us down as they couldn't find the reservation name. Rather than looking for a solution by checking for them having made a typo in my name.. you could feel there was a bit of judgement regarding their "relaxed casual" dresscode.
T. C.
Staff is real friendly and the food was nice. Good environment.
A. K.
I loved my experience at Stokehouse and I was surprised to read of other people's recent experiences that were negative. I guess you will have to go there and judge for yourself.
Location is idyllic.
The wait staff that attended to us were all friendly, attentive, and informed.
We loved the Brooke Farm caviar with accompaniments - my partner said you could die happily after having this.
I also had a wonderful beef short rib special with accompanying red wine which was outstanding.
Both these items are what you would call expensive in average terms, but as we don't get to dine out like this every day, I just enjoyed the moment and did not care about the pricing.
So yes, Melbournians are spoilt for choice and perhaps there may be other places equally spectacular that might provide better value. But my take is, when you have a rare opportunity to enjoy your partner's uninterrupted company, in a beautiful location and at a restaurant that strives for excellence on all levels, DON'T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF!
Hope you have a great time there.
C. B.
Incredibile view and atmosphere. Amazing food and service. Thanks for an amazing birthday.
S. R.
Was taken there for a business meeting. Loved the décor. You can"t replace what's been before, so you may as well reinvent, and the new restaurant looks beautiful. Loved the modern use of concrete, colour and wood.
We were seated quickly and professionally. We had a quick 20 min catch up meeting before lunch and the staff let us do our thing without pressure to order.
We had an entrée each that was delicious, and shared a main, and sides. Lovely lunch. Shared desert too, which was delicious. Great people watching too.
I really enjoyed it, but probably not a regular restaurant for me, more of a special occasion.
A. W.
An oasis of cool on a stinking hot day. The finger food was good & there's an embarrassment of choice of drinks. The view's spectacular. Worth a visit if you've a healthy bank balance!
M. J.
Great restaurant. It is costly, but it's certainly good venue. Excellent wine list and some of the desserts are next level. Awesome view too.
M. D.
Nice food but have eaten at better restaurants for the $$$. Waiting staff not that engaging and wine list pricey. Loads better fine dining special occasion restaurants in Melbourne! Disappointed as had been here a few years back and it was sensational
R. A.
Pleasant dining experience with very good customer service. Food was quite uninspiring and a little bland. Definitely not bad at all but for this price point you expect better.
Furthermore, the architecture of the rebuild after the fire hasn't utilised the seaview and location to its fullest.
J. S.
Great views, good service. I miss this place so much during these Corona times. Can't wait for you guys to open. All I can do at this stage is to give you guys a 5-star rating!
A. T.
Visited as recommended by locals, on holidays from London. I would rate the place as very basic. Maybe the owners should visit some best know restaurants around the world to see what good service and outstanding food is. Food is basic and way too pricey for what's on offer. Staff is not dressed luxury and unique, many dirty and unwashed black trousers which you see they are not provided by restaurant. Dont get me wrong you just expect to have top of the top for the price. Would definitely not return.
S. T.
Excellent service, food, views. Impeccable all round, highly recommended. Staff were outstanding! 👌😁👍 Thank you very much 🙏
C. H.
Great location right on the beach. Loved the old Stokehouse where they had a separate bar and place to order food which made it simply, fast and effective. The new Stokehouse needs to sort out it's points of sale. Seems very discombobulated.
V. B.
Excellent service and beautiful food!
G. G.
Great ambience, efficient staff. Menu is not vegetarian friendly, only one mains, portion was appalling. Fish and chips can be recommended. Desserts not hearty.
L. S.
Relaxed setting with fine dining quality food and drinks. Love the cocktails and cant go wrong with a long lunch here
M. D.
Lovely restaurant with great views of the beach and sea. Service is fabulous and the food is exquisite. Does get very noisy though, which affects the cosy ambience.
G. G.
Has to be one of the best kitchens on Australia but you sure pay for it. I think its worth it for those special occasions. Right on the beach. Everything is shiny n expensive . its five stars so dress smart casual. Get your taste buds n wallet ready for pleasure ... Yummmmm .
A. V.
Thank you for making Mum's 70th Birthday a special occasion. The food was amazing, the wine pairing added perfection and a sweet birthday cupcake just added another layer of loveliness to the whole experience. Thank you Stokehouse for making my Mum very happy!
I. M.
Great place for a treat. Higher end prices but definately get what you pay for. Great service food and wine. Great view over the bay (if it's not dark!)
G. B.
Disappointed in the food, fish and chips were overcooked lump of crumbs and a thin layer of fish, worse than local fish and chip shop and three times the price. Complained and they happily replaced the dish with the same result. Cous Cous salad seriously over salted. Fish of the day was good. The only redemption was the service and the happy staff. Will not be returning. All in all very disappointed spoilt our memories of what was a wonderful restaurant. Shame.
J. H.
Although this was a closed function, it was fantastic.
Service, food, presentation and more. Not only did it look good, it tasted even better than you expected.
With a huge cat park right across the road, out made your bought worry free to enjoy the fine dining
G. P.
Fabulous about says it all. A wonderful menu, beautifully presented and a comprehensive and well thought out wine list. The staff were very friendly and the views sensational.
D. N.
I feel this place is not as good as it used to be, I went after it first opened and really rated it but after going there a second time for lunch have concluded the menu is not overly inspiring and it really isn't anything special other than the picture perfect view over the bay. Wait staff are excellent
S. M.
Views and service were incredible, definitely world class! The food was good, but I wouldn’t rush back for it anytime soon. A little overpriced. Definitely worth a visit though!
J. N.
Amazing dinner with a beautiful view of the beach
A. L.
Great view
Friendly staff
Lacks the atmosphere of 5he old stokehouse, lacks the menu, its a great drinking bar
I would go here for a feed, drink yes
T. V. K.
A bit noisy with the DJ only 0.5m from the closest tables downstairs. Totally crawling with skinny white denim and three-undone shirt buttons on lads, but plenty of tanned curves to avoid staring at in front of you lady friend. Good pizzas, and ample bizzare public entertainment from the local wackos out the back.
J.
On a gorgeous, sunny afternoon we sat "overlooking" the beach. I love the set up, however the wooden blocks used to eat off were a bit low and I know it's not proper etiquette to cross your legs or put your feet up, but I found myself doing so several times. Food was served quickly, big thumbs up. The fried calamari is to die for, so flavoursome and by that, I didn't feel the need to dip into the accompanied aoli. The ice-berg lettuce with creme fraiche salad was substandard. Prawn bun was tasty with a bite, bun could have been fresher. Nevertheless will be back to try the pizza and hopefully will be greeted by staff on arrival.
D.
One of Melbournes best restaurants! I was blown away with the food and service here, it truly is one of the best fine dining option in Melbourne.
From entrees to mains the food is an experience to have!
m. g.
Lovely restaurant, but sadly the food was very disappointing, and that went for all 8 of us. Also, we were not allowed to serve our own birthday cake! Not good customer service!
F. B.
Love the stokehouse- always a solid meal, experience had the Sommelier knows his stuff!!!
S. C.
The view and food is very good. The rise and pistachio semi-freddo highly recommended. For out of towners like us, a name and street number on the building would have been helpful. Otherwise, thoroughly enjoyed it.
A. D.
Fantastic food and service. The location sells itself overlooking the ocean inclusive magical sunsets. The balcony is fab for pre dinner drinks. Perfect for special occasions
N. C.
it was a wonderful treat. went for a birthday and will come back again
B. S.
From the moment I walked in I was immediately impressed, staff were so friendly and professional. The food was AMAZING and hard to compare to other restaurants. A must visit!
J. K.
Absolutely fantastic ambience and Bayside views, along with sensational food and generous servings when it came to the mains. Exceptional staff as well. All round great experience.
S. P.
Improved over the one that burnt down. Very trendy crowd. Guys in suits with no socks, if you get my drift. Expensive drinks and I hate being served a Manhattan in a champagne cocktail glass. Give it to me in a low ball.
M. L.
Fantastic food, great ambience and very friendly & knowledgeable waiters.
G. 1. R.
Went downstairs. Food was pretty good, but not great..just 👌..if it didn't have such a well known name, it would be forgettable. Nice location right on the beach. And friendly staff..
J. Y.
A Melbourne institution that has had a great facelift following a fire that burned the original place down. One of the best wine lists in town, service to match and the food is consistently good.
G. B.
Food & service always great in a stellar beachfront location but new restearant design makes for a very noisy room. The interior architects have 100% missed it and materials already look dated. Can't even hear the waitress read the specials.
J. S.
The view, the food and wine list were amazing. Staff very attentive and friendly. Will be back!! Thanks Stokehouse for a great experience on a Sunday night.
J. C.
Good atmosphere and premises. Decent food but not amazing
B. K.
Outstanding service and delicious food. Would definitely go here again.
M. N.
One of my favorite restaurants in Melbourne. Chilled vibe, great food and the Le Bombe just might be the greatest dessert ever made!
E. A. J.
Exceptionally good restaurant, we had an amazing Saturday night dinner with faultless modern food and seemless service. One of the best restaurants we have eaten at over the last few years.
R. J.
They've missed the mark. Three stars only because the expectations are so high, but basically this place isn't finished even three months after opening. The service is really good, the food is ok, but for the price it should be amazeballs and it's not.
E. L.
Great two hours, excellent food, wonderful service and a very relaxing venue / experience.
A. T.
The view and service was great along with the wine but the food was average. Nothing bad about it but nothing outstanding especially for the price tag.
D. K.
Great food - fairly priced - will go again. Flathead fish and chips was superb. Impeccable wait service from Neil.
K.
Great food and friendly service
M. M.
Fabulous service and amazing food... an unforgettable experience again... Thank you... ×××
A. C.
Great food and amazing wine list
K. O.
Pretty average service & experience. Food was relatively good and the sommelier was very knowledgeable. But for the price you’d expect a bit more.
J. L.
Beautiful food, great drinks, wonderful views of the bay. First time here and definitely won't be the last.
E. H.
Amazing restaurant with beach views.
c. f.
Beautiful location and yummy food.
Favorite was the potatoe with truffle and cooked in wagyu fat :) Portion size for the pork was a bit small though.
r. l.
Great service, menu and delicious food. Fabulous atmosphere. Best place to spend luncheon on sunny Fridays....
E. T.
Food good, service got a little slack mid evening
s. p.
Amazing. Every time I go there it never fails to blow my mind. The service is exceptional and they are full of knowledge.
Love love love
P. W.
It's a bit pricey but the view is great, service is top notch and the fish isn't bad either. Great place for a long Friday lunch.
K. A.
I had the lunch special of octopus. It was tasty but a bit tough and a small serve.
Service was very good.
r. c.
A very enjoyable evening
Good food and excellent service
C. J.
Great atmosphere, on the water front with awesome views of st kilda beach. Food and drinks were great. Take the opportunity on a stunning day.

Very good Bistro. Nice menu, the Benedict & black mushroom was really well made.
The desserts are
A. S.
Beautiful beachfront viewing while enjoying excellent food. The service from staff was top class and we had a wonderful experience
R. K.
Bloody fantastic. Service e was amazing, food out of this.world. 5 stars.
H. P.
Absolutely stunning. Service and food absolutely spot on. Order the king george whiting, got it grilled instead of battered, and was sublime.
B. J.
Awesome fish, chips and beers on the sand from paper fish. Japanese style potato cakes a great twist on an old classic
I. H.
Disappointing but we did have high expectations. The restaurant missed the mark and was just an unfinished noisy space serving good but pricey food. Service was only average.
B.
Absolutely fantastic. Great food. Loved the desserts. Fantastic service. We'll definately be back.
S. C.
Beautiful cuisine. Upmarket and on the pricey side but worth it.
A. L.
Last Aussie meal for a while and this place didn't disappoint. Fine food, lively atmosphere and excellent experience.
A. E.
Good service, ok to good food. Not what I’d hoped.
K. P.
High level of service and high quality food. You pay for what you get. Not for the pub scene, quality restaurant.
R. S.
Was alright apparently order went to someone else. So long wait and was average. Nothing offered for long delay either
T. O.
Excellent food, location and atmosphere. Ample portion sizes too. Will be back for more.
C. W.
Fantastic food with a great view. Great winelist. Honestly cant fault this place.
J. H.
My passengers had a great time. But then what else would you expect?
M. H.
Had a great business lunch here with good service. Also good for a romantic lunch or dinner due to view and location...
I. T.
Presentation and quality of food delicious The staff was friendly and courteous. Had a really wonderful time & enjoyed the magic view.
T. F.
Lovely setting, but still very loud due to poor acoustics, food pricey but quality good but not expectional for price point.
S. S.
Beautiful place with nice view, inside Bar everything very well organised, Bottles , chairs, today I just go there for delivery, but coming weekend I be there with my friends:)
H. C. T. H.
Cared and selected food ingredients.
R. M.
Amazing food, wine, ambiance and view
B. S.
Wow. Amazing food and wine with awesome beach views! Gavin is great sommelier!
P. H.
Incredible dining experience! The lamb loin was delicious and the service was first class!
A. K.
Great food as always!
M. E.
Nice foods but bit overprice to be honest
P. C.
Great place to eat with good desserts. Only negative is signage to the place is poor and you need prior knowledge to know where the place is
S. Q.
Amazing food, service and beach view to add to ambience
M. G.
Very nice setting on the beach, I do feel it could all be table service however the food is nice.
M. I.
Exquisite service, food, drinks, views and ambience. Ample paid parking available on opposite side of road.
D. I.
Stop house does amazing food amazing atmosphere – not cheap but that’s not the point
C. C.
What a great location. Great food and excellent service. Looking forward to next time!
C. H.
Really excellent food and service but overpriced - we paid $150 a head for our meal and they charged us for still water on top of that even after we asked for tap
J. A.
Was very noisy the service was very good. I had the Beef medium rare it was very sinurey had problem digesting it some of my friends had the Beef medium and it was ok very inconsistent
T. C.
Definitely coming back
C. J.
I really love this place, very good service, reasonable price and superb views
M. W.
Such a relaxed, chill vibe at Pontoon with great DJ
C. B.
Fancy, high end dining with great seafood and views of the bay from upstairs. Great for a special occasion.
A. C. d. C.
Amazing!
C. M.
Couldn’t enjoy scenic ambience as it was night. But food was great and wines tasted awesome
M. R.
Great to see an icon return. Pontoon downstairs has great cocktail options and sharing plates but attracts a somewhat pretentious crowd.
F. d. V.
Great restaurant in a great location overlooking the bay in St Kilda.
C. L.
Location is great, right on the beach.
Food is good but a bit pricey for what it is
J. D.
Went here for a wedding, was good, though I seriously want to know what those "balconies" near the toilets are for, their so damn small.
J. B.
Can't fault this place, had the set menu and there was plenty of beautiful food
R. S.
The food and service was very good ! The portions are tiny .
k. d.
The food always the next Level, check the Barra Picture,

Magnificent views and food. Great service, very friendly and professional staff.
B. C.
Ambience, Service, Decor, Menu, Food and wine ... excellent ... nothing short of perfect dining experience
H. B.
Excellent location, amazing service, the food was delicious but a bit too pricey.
L. S.
Ok. Posh and pricey. Bit of a destination restaurant for Melbourne. Ugly building, reasonable food.
O. &. C.
WoW... 👌💙👌
ONE OF THE BEST EVENTS I'VE BEEN, LOVED EVERYTHING ABOUT IT.
Thanks guy's, Nick, Marty and everybody els.
Regards, OZZiE.O
E. D.
Not bad
L. S.
Wow, what an amazing evening. The food incredible, the service amazing, the view stunning.
J.
Lovely view, nice atmosohere, fair few wankers around but otherwise great food and service!
D. P.
Venue and service we're great, food was quite average
A.
The restaurant was once an institution. The service is underwhelming and not worth the price or time.
S. M.
The food fine, service fine but the fitout is really ordinary ... "what were they thinking?"
L. T.
Our food was cold or luke warm which was disappointing - but lovely location and staff were fairly attentive
B. S.
Amazing food the bar staff are outstanding everyone should experience this venue!
D. G.
Beautiful decor but average food at a premium price.
M. M.
Although I loved the old Stonehouse, the new area looks beautiful. Plenty of seating and room to roam around.
M. F.
Great food . Great service. Expensive but worth it
J. K.
Top tunes from the DJ accompanied by top food as always
M. R.
New location feels cold and has lost some charm. Food was resonably priced.
R. T.
Love this place it’s beaut, fresh good vibes, super clean and everyone’s sound as😁
T. L.
Delicious food and great service from the little blonde lady from Queensland!
R. T.
