Love this local! Great value lunch specials, excellent food, perfect spot for eating in or dining outside in the sun and tasty beers on tap to wash it all down. This is our regular and we often find ourselves here weekly for burgers, steak or schnitzel and always a beer! This is a fabulous eatery in Sunshine West that we love. The steak is excellent - they know how to cook both rare and medium perfectly (with the right amount of char!) which makes for a really welcome change. Chips are scrumptious too! Thursday night is steak night and it’s not one to be missed ($20 steak and chips + beer/wine/soft drink). You gotta check this place out! From a very happy local. 😊

Came here for dinner and loved it. Burgers were insanely good - and well priced. Everything about the burger was on point - huge patties, toasted buns, yum sauce. BBQ chicken was delicious, so were the fries and mac n cheese. My partner ended up ordering a burger after seeing the rest of the tables arrive lol. Has a really cool outdoor and function area. Location: Beer garden with kids play area, can't beat it. Local gem near residential area so street parking is plenty if you can't find a spot at the venue. Value: Bang for buck. Summary: Overall good place in the western suburbs with parking, outdoor area, suitable for group dinners with mates, family gatherings, special occasions, impromptu drinks, whatever. Awesome place to have in your life.

We hosted our recent group Christmas Party at Sunshine Social. Gareth was super easygoing and accommodating and made sure everything was perfect for our lovely evening. We had the outside undercover area to ourselves, which was fantastic (and very COVID Safe which was a key consideration for us). The food was plentiful (and delicious - especially the canapes which many of our staff mistook for the whole meal as they were so generous!) and everyone had a fantastic time. We appreciated lots of options to cater for various dietary requirements and tastes. We were so happy to have been able to support one of our local restaurants and enjoy such a fabulous night together - thanks again Gareth and the Sunshine Social team (and we might see you in December again next year!!).

Ordered the maple bourbon chicken wings which were bland and flavourless the brisket had little to no smoke flavour and looked braised/broiled and finished on the grill. Spacious and nice place for dining in. Also suitable for family and big group. They have outdoor setting so you can bring your pet too. Food was ok with reasonable price. Pork ribs were pretty good value, quite big portion. Burgers were not bad too. Sweet potato chip was really nice.

The lights hanging overhead as you walk in are really inviting yet I was surprised to see SS empty on a Sunday evening. Not long after, I realised they had quite a number of online orders to go through. It was approx 15-20min wait for the food despite being 1/2 dine-in customers. We had the wings (looked flavourful but didn't really deliver for me) and the chicken schnitzel(4/5 total yumz). Overall, it wasn't too bad 👍🏽

Burgers are amazing! They are super juicy and the buns are very soft. They tend to have deals where certain burgers come with chips. Chips are super crispy aswell. Definitely would recommend.

Totally unexpected and experience. The service was first class and the food was delicious. The softest BBQ pork ribs I've ever had. All the ingredients were fresh and full of flavour. There isn't much in the way of a view of the surrounding area however I like the idea of the place being located in an old service station with a matching theme. There is plenty of room, it was comfortable and there wasn't a long wait time for the food. I really enjoyed it.

A lovely new addition to Sunshine that shows this area is on the move. Nicely set out restaurant with well landscaped outdoor area that is sure to be popular during summer. Staff were friendly and efficient. Menu had a good variety of dishes including multiple vegetarian options. My beef burger was tasty but the brioche bun fell apart as it couldn’t hold the juiciness of the burger. However one of my friends had the falafel burger and had no issue with her bun. My other friend had the beef skewers and said they were very tasty. Price is decent for the portions and everything was served nice and hot. Nice family setting with kids options on the menu. Quite a few treats available for dessert too which I will have to sample next time including the icecream sandwiches.

The place was nice. I went there by chance and saw a nice view with outdoor area to sit. The waiters were nice and helpful. The food I chose was a Slow Cook Pork Ribs. As you can see the portion was kinda big and I was definitely full after that. The coffee was decent too. Even thought the food was not out of this world but it was decent and nicely made.

Wonderful place to come and "socialise " as the name implies. Pork roll was yummy - coleslaw, mayo, bread all very nice, pork shoulder just a tad tough but was no issue... Maybe smaller bits? Cevi sausages great flavour perfectly grilled and seasoned. good solid block of sagnaki, very tasty. Chips very good. Home made chilli could be hotter,spicer though good garlic flavour.

Went on a busy Friday night. Likeable staff, active but little uncoordinated, was served by a number of staff during the sitting often asking similar questions. Food was ok..personally don't like my meats smothered in sauces. Gives the impression that something is being hidden. Had the lamb ribs that had some sort of garlicky type orange sauce on top. Also had the char siew pork which the waitress had no idea what it was despite it being offered by another waiter. Chips were great. It's good for big groups and I do hope they improve over time

This place used to be amazing. The squid and chips: excellent serving size and cooked deliciously. Recently they have changed their menu : smaller serving size , rubbery, bland and more expensive. They have also downed the portions and upped the price for most of the other dishes. Used to recommend this dish to friends and family but no longer do so. The place tends to run out of food also. Great location, great vibe but not great menu.

I think of Sunshine Social as that friend of yours who spent a bunch of time in the US and brought back some of those techniques to their Australian backyard barbecue. When i first found the place i would have given it 5 stars hands down because of great food and atmosphere. With the recent menu change, unless you weigh under 40kgs or do not order any burgers, it will cost you at least $70 per head to be full. All their meals other than the burger deals are snack sized. Our last outing with 8 people didn't realise this until the order came. We had to keep re ordering, but with a 50 minute turn around time, this made the experience worse. If you are going to tight on the portions, maybe offer bread with the meals, quality bread doesn't cost much. Your kid friendly setup and food still taste great, but the cost of a sitting makes me consider wether i would get better value out of Melbourne's best steak restaurants rather than returning

This is a such a good little spot for the inners of Sunshine. Plenty of seating inside with heaters and aircon. Loads of seating outside in the sun or under the fully enclosed area. The menu is fairly simple. The fried chicken burger is next level, I will definitely be back for it! Alcoholic drinks are priced well for what you get. Enough parking at the venue or surrounding streets. All in all, great spot, could be a weekly feed!

As a long standing resident of the area and a huge fan of beer halls American style BBQ's and places like Le Bon Ton and Up In Smoke I was thrilled to learn that my area had finally got a place worth going out to. This is what my friends and I constantly talk about and have wanted in our local area for a long time.... A place where we can go and have a selection of BBQ, slow cooked meats and craft beers whilst enjoying a chilled outdoor atmosphere.... I loved the layout and the vibe of the place (hopefully get an outdoor license in time, but is fully licensed indoors). The menu is on par with similar BBQ spots I have frequented with burgers, salads, BBQ meat selections, sides and deserts. I had the lamb shoulder and though it tasted superb I thought it probably needed some slow cook loving. My wife had a chicken burger and it was amazing. Loved the char grilled corn also. I would however love to see some smokers, spits and the sort going (because I love the theatrics) and maybe a larger variety of meats on the menu but I realize that this spot is just kicking off and I am sure it is destined for great things! THANK YOU guys. I will probably be here once a week.

Been to this place last saturday night it was fully packed. Despite that food came out really fast. Probably the best bbq platter i've ever had. Lamb ribs were my favorite juicy and falling off the bone. Rest of the platter was amazing too. Only letdown for us was the table service. My husband had to ask three times to get his beer.

They needed to be cooked longer for that fall off the bone deliciousness I'd expect from a place that promotes a bbq speciality. When thats as bad as it gets, you know youve found an amazing place for ribs. Tonight we ate in. Made a booking (didnt specify outside seating) and there was no space outside so they moved a table for us. All of their customer service was lovely. The barbeque sauce on the ribs is amazing and the meat usually falls off the bone as you pick it up. So tender and I always keep eating more after I'm full because it is so good. Prices are reasonable for the servings you get and its all just so delicious.

A gem in the western suburbs of Sunshine. The chips are crunchy and lightly seasoned. Ribs are very tender and melt off the bone. The burgers are only let down by the low quality of their buns. The interior is very modern and roomy so will easily accommodate larger groups.

We arrived on the Sunshine Social's 3rd night open. To say there were under the pump is to put it mildly. Nonetheless the staff did a great job of taking our orders and delivering our drinks and food as best and as quickly s they could. We started with the beetroot dip and bread, which was smoky as you'd expect for a BBQ joint, then I had the beef with lemongrass ginger and chilli. Yum yum very tasty. My wife had Morrocan Lamb sausages, not quite as tasty but impressive nonetheless. By the time we'd finished it had quietened down so we ordered takeaway desert, they come in pretty blue cups and were also very delicious, a great start for this local, let's hope they can keep it up?

Yum!!! Simple decor, laid back vibe, in the Glengala Rd hub. Sunshine Social offers fantastic food (meats are some of the best I've eaten in Melbourne), paired well with local (and more common) brews. They even do takeaway chooks - and magnificent chooks they are. I've dropped in for a bite after work, caught up with friends, or grabbed a take home dinner. Each time great experience.
