Best curry I've ever had. Rang to pick up and they hadn't put the other through so a small wait but no big deal. Also ordered online and turned up and they were closed. But super lovely staff, the food is so worth it!

Friendly attentive service. Mixed grilled entree was very flavoursome with a nice variety of meats. Perfect starter for 2. The dahi puri were great. Crispy shell, minted yoghurt, tangy centre. Could eat 100 of them. The cheese naan was good. A little thinner than most places but that also have it a nice crunch. The vindaloo was ok. It was a bit too salty. Overall great service, good Indian dishes.

The food is great! Especially their butter chicken or biryani. Good initiative with a non alcoholic beer but am I suppose to consume it with the meal? The beer was warm as it was packed with the food which was piping hot. :D

Had my daughter’s birthday here. We had never arranged a party for more than 50 people before so were a bit nervous on how we were going to do it. But after Deepti explained us the magnitude of events they manage we realized that we were in safe hands. The Venue is perfect, everything from cutlery to service taken care. The food was delicious. Most of the people at party have been in Melbourne for more than a decade and thought that this was one of the best Indian food they have had in Melbourne. There is food, then there is an experience that is brought about by sharing amazing food. Tandoori Flames went above and beyond to give us such an exquisite experience. Having catered for our surprise wedding reception 3 days out - they had no problem getting organised, having the taste testing and thereafter taking care of everything else, with complete anonymity. I hosted my son’s birthday at Tandoori Flames. Dipti was very accomodating from the start till the event was finished. She recommended all the best items on the menu and took our dietary requirements into consideration as well. Loved the option of serving 4 courses of meal which not many other restaurants offer. The girls who were there during the time of the event were very helpful too. The restaurant itself was very clean and spacious and we loved hosting the event there. One of the most important functions in our life was my elder Son's wedding. We chose Ultima for the occassion. Jimmy the venue owner from the very beginning he showed exceptional customer service and it was due to his attitude we signed with Ultima. Since it was during Covid time we had several hiccups starting with lockdown and lesser number of guests etc. Jimmy was extremely patient throughout the whole process and alway helped with whatever query we had. I must says that I am a perfectionist and Jimmy turned out to be the same. Jimmy helped us choosing the menu by giving us his honest suggestions to giving us ideas for stage setup. He looked after all our special requirements honestly and professionally. On the day of the wedding he made sure that the halls are setup attractively with Uplights and Lights under the table that gave a very beautiful sight to the guests. Starting from Mocktails & Canapees to Entrees, Mains and Desserts everything was very tasty and exceptionally well presented. Jimmy certainly knows how to run this type of business. All our guests were very happy impressed with everything and could not stop praising things. Jimmy mate you made our special day exceptional and memorable. Thanks so very much!!!

The service was good. Ambience is trendy but the banquet party and dine-in as in half-half arrangement at the same venue is not comfortable. The entrance door sounds ridiculous when opened and closed anytime. Chicken tikka butter masala and Dahi puri was awesome. Baingan bharta lacked a smokey tandoor smell and taste, and I guess it may not be cooked in the tandoor. It was just less than average. We liked paan kulfi, wanted to try mango chilly but they were running out of that. Overall good. I expected more though.

Absolutely fantastic & mouth watering food, not your typical shopping centre pre-made Indian food. Not for someone with the patience range of a tea spoon because food takes little while to come as it's prepared fresh but hey, nothing good ever comes out in a hurry anyway. I've been going to Tandoori Flames since last few years, and no doubt it's one of the best Indian restaurant in Melbourne. Great hospitality and great food. A perfect place to have wedding and birthday celebrations. We once hosted 120 people for Diwali party without any issues. Our favourite is veg tawa and murg kali mirchi in mains. For the starter we love the chat platter. Thanks Deepti and her staff in always going above and beyond in serving us.

Tandoori Flames has not only raised their bar on providing exceptional mouthwatering food but maintaining this status time after time. We’ve tasted their food at dine in and their catering services and it’s very hard to distinguish the difference as we’ve got the same vibe at each instance. Jimmy/Deepti are amazing hosts and such down to earth people that they create a great ambience that one feels just special. We recently used their catering services and they did not let us down. The chefs produced some finger licking foods and our guests were very pleased with the service. Their staff are not only friendly but very cooperative. Have just had the most amazing meal at Tandoori Flames in Sth Kingsville. Despite being REALLY busy with takeaway orders we had the best service and the most delicious food. This place is really community focused and donates food to the homeless. They went to so much trouble to look after all of their customers (eat in and takeaway) all while looking after social distancing etc. And the food is absolutely fantastic. We’ll be back.

I booked a function at Tandoori Flames, the service was quick and the food was delicious, great authentic Indian food. The table settings were immaculate and I was impressed by the detail they had gone to in order to make the function welcoming and well polished; I was proud to show my guests such a lovely display. The belly dancers we saw were incredible, I've done belly dancing classes myself and could not imagine even comparing to the skill and allure the ladies exuded. Like I said, the food was delicious, I couldn't find a flaw with it, even my guests who were troubled by spicy foods were well catered for and had no complaints (my grandfather in particular). Personally, I like a very spicy curry and my needs were also catered for. The food came quickly and my guests were not left waiting, and the drinks service beforehand were swift and accurate, everyone received the correct beverages in an orderly fashion. The wait staff were polite and attentive and brought out the banquet style meal with aplomb and efficiency. The empty plates were cleared once everyone had finished eating, not before (as I find removing plates while patrons are still eating to be rude) and more drinks were offered and desserts upon the completion of the main course. I would definitely recommend Tandoori Flames to anyone looking for a different venue and menu to impress their guests for a birthday, anniversary, or any function. I was highly impressed, hence my five star rating.

Went to this place ( because I really like the ambience and entree’s) and I was literally surprised with the quality and taste of food that was served to us. It was phenomenal. Dal Jhilmil is a must try, and I guess it’s pretty hard to find a dal in Melbourne that is anywhere close to it in terms of taste. Today I was given the wrong order at pick up. Unfortunately, it happens (show me a restaurant that hasn’t given someone a wrong order?!?!) What doesn’t happen very often is the business not only doing the right thing with their customer but also making them feel so special. They apologised immediately and not only did they fix it right away, but they DELIVERED it to my house and within 25 mins...and I got to keep the original order!!! Brilliant atmosphere, service, and food. Received a warm welcome on arrival and found the restaurant very nicely decorated (fantastic lighting and table settings). Service was prompt and attentive, without feeling rushed. The menu had a great variety of dishes, including an excellent vegetarian selection. The food was mind blowing, everyone loved it especially the Aloo Papdi Chat. If you are looking for a place to organise a function or even have dinner, this is the place I would recommend. If you are looking for authentic Indian cuisine providing outstanding service with nice Bollywood music ,there is no better restaurant than Tandoori Flames. Extremely professional staff. I had booked it on couple of occasions and was always well catered. They do have a function room which is perfect for any celebration. The recent booking was for 18 guests and everything worked out smoothly under Deepti’s (Manager) supervision. I must say once you go there ,you will go there again and again. It was great service from the day one. Staff is excellent 10/10. Great handover.. We were dealing with Nikhil (one of their experience staff) & he was away sick for couple days on our function day but everything was taken care of. That was about service, now food.. As usual great food which is standard for Tandoori Flames. We opted to get the decoration done through them & it came out to be much nicer than expected & on paper. Was incredibly affordable with a $45 dinner menu with starters, main, dessert and drinks all provided in the price. We tried the new Live Grill menu and it was very nice, I would say much better than live Grill we have had at another restaurant in Melbourne. HONEST REVIEW: I think it’s hard to tell if a place is worth it when there’s only really positive or really negative reviews - plus it’s also very subjective to the individual. But I’ll try give as accurate review as possible. The food was okay, not great. The vegetarian dishes appear to be better, the meat quality wasn’t the best. They seem like great people and it’s good to support local businesses so I wouldn’t say avoid the place, but I wouldn’t go expecting to be “wow’d” by the food. Stick to the dishes with lots of sauce or vegetarian and you should be fine. The naan was delicious though 🙏🏾

Best Indian in west Footscray... and we've tried them all. It may seem strange that there are so few people in the restaurant, especially when Aangan down the street is packed, but we find that the flavours and spices at Tandoori Flames are more subtle and authetic than Aangan, who we have found to be not much to write home about there to be honest. Tandoori Flames if amazing however.
