Really quite disappointed lately. The grilled flake was really dry and tough, the chips were generous in quantity though average, and although the potato cakes were also generous in size, the really thick potato is certainly not what I look for. I've been coming here intermittently over the years, and it's never been brilliant though usually good, but I think I'll avoid it for a while in favour of others around based on recent results.

My first time buying food here and it was really good. Came in on Thursday to buy flakes, four fish bites and potato cakes. Customer services is good. Overall experience is good i really enjoyed it. Will come back again.

I have tried all the other fish and chips shops in Truganina, Altona, Hoppers Crossing, basically the West, and hands down Tarneit Gardens will always deliver the best tasting fish and chips and other menu items. Their customer service is the best, one time my fries were not included when I picked up the order, I called back and they offered me to pick up or delivery to my home, the actually delivered the fries to my home, what can I say, that’s just 5 star customer service. Furthermore, when they take your order over the phone, they give you the exact time when you’re order is ready for pick-up and on a busy Friday it’s only 10-12mins. You don’t have to deal with the BS of other fish and chip shops with there fake estimated time. I love the vibes of the staff and how good the fish and chips taste. My only complaint is I wish I lived closer, so I wouldn’t have to drive so far to pick up the best fish & chips in the West. Your Favorite customer, Ferris

The potato cakes are yum and hit the spot but the fish burger ? I wouldn’t think I’d have to tell you to put lettuce and tomato into a burger ? It was literally 2 patties of fish (which was nice actually and fresh) in a bun with couple of shreds of cabbage and some Mayo Not an ideal burger by any standard however Not too bad for meal on a budget

Best fish n chip shop Basa fish my favourite. Service is awesome. If your a regular customer Ivy the owner will always greet you by first name. Never a greasy feel after eating from there. All our kiwis out there looking for a decent fish n chip place. Come check this one out you won't be disappointed

Enjoyed my experience.nice veggie burger filled with cheese tomato onions n a veggie patty. Very friendly service by the lady serving us. My partner was also pleased with her lunch pack (flake chips pirate cake n drink) and the lady also packed the chips separately on request since I am veg. I could only flaw the potatoe cake batter was too thick. Sure to go back again.

The store is now under new management (3 month's they said) and the food is delicious. We ordered a kiwi burger, plain burger and added bacon and cheese, i would say its the best fish and chip shop burger ive ever had! Fresh home made patties, lots of filings and delicious sauces. Nice crunchy chips with chicken salt, large calamari rings (not rubbery at all). Would definitely recommend and now i will be a regular customer.

BEST fish and chips I’ve had in a very long time!! Everything was absolutely on point!! Well done to the 4 girls that seriously ruled the kitchen! They were under the pump yet so polite! Yummo definitely will be coming back again!!

Our go to for fish n chips. Warm, welcoming and friendly upon arrival as always. My favourite is the lunch packs because I can always swap the basa to a snapper for an extra dollar. Aaaaaannd the best thing is, they have the real potato cakes! Which back home in Nz, Us kiwis call it potato fritter. Legit the best fish and chips out here in the west side. Even the chips are soooo yummy and fresh. Cannot forget the burgers they are so delish!

New owners have made so many improvements! I used to avoid this place at all costs!! Now however it is such a pleasurable experience delicious food...the burgers, the fish and chips, hot dogs, chicken wings even the clean shop and friendly service are awesome...thank you new owners its soooo good to have a GOOD fishnchip shop so close..your hardwork has not gone unnoticed!!
