Had lunch and the vegetarian croquettes and arancini were delicious. The spinach orrichette was also really nice and a good size serving. Husband had calamari and seafood pasta. He loved the pasta but calamari not as much. Couple we were with had meatballs, chicken and veal and said nice too. Desserts looked delicious but couldn't fit in!! Coffees (soy latte, decaf almond latte and macciatto) also good. Interesting old building and wonder what it was before restaurant. Seating comfortable and tables not too close together, unlike some other restaurants where you can share your neighbours seat! Staff really good, friendly and knowledgeable. Would go back.

Came down here for dinner with my husband, The atmosphere and setup inside is amazing. Staff are extremely helpful and go the extra mile to make sure everything is to your liking. The pizza's we had were really delicious however could do with a little less grease but other than that the taste was marvellous. We had a function booked over 18 months ago and due to COVID and other delays, we needed to move the booking 5 times! Tazio and especially Maggie went above and beyond to ensure the service was fantastic. We were late to the function and they pushed back drinks packages to accomodate us. The food was amazing and they were really careful with allergies. The staff were wonderful and we had such an amazing time. Thank you!!

Shout out to the Tazio team who accomodated our late night request last Friday evening after attending a show at the Regent Theatre. We were able to reserve a table late and they kept the kitchen open for delicious food. Absolutely fantastic service, super friendly, helpful and attentive. So many pizzas on offer and the lunch special is excellent. Would love to give five stars, but my pizza was a little greasy. Crust and ingredients were good though and I'd like to go back for a different option. They also split bills, which is very handy. The ambience is nice too.

My wife and I found this place because it was listed as an option for a dining gift card that we had. I think Tazio is a very atmospheric venue with very distinct menu items. What I mean by this is that the food seems fresh, flavorsom and in many ways - unique to this restaurant. The team serving were incredibly friendly and genuine too. I stand my by 5-star rating with the only criticism that perhaps the pizza topping should extend further to the edges of the crusts - even still, it was a "boss" pizza. Thanks Tazio for a great night.

I came here with colleagues whilst staying in Melbourne. Our hotel was nearby so the location was a huge bonus. We were all extremely pleased with our dinner here. There were some good choices on the menu, which were extremely delicious, and we were all satisfied. The prices were slightly better than other local options as well. There was a lively atmosphere in this very spacious restaurant. I'd definitely come back.

Went to Tazio as a party of seven for a business lunch. Excellent and friendly service. Food and drinks were deliveried quickly and together. Good food at a fair price. It seems designed to cater for groups rather than couples and it does this well.

This place had an inviting, tasteful feel as you enter. Ensconced in a comfortable corner, we settled in to peruse the sizeable menu and our orders were taken swiftly. The first round of drinks arrived rapidly and the food came soon after. Everyone was enjoying the variety of pizzas - subtle, well-balanced flavours on thinish crusts. The pasta ragu was gone so fast I wouldn't have had a chance for another photo. We had to ask three times for our second round drinks however. Eventually they brought these out on the house when we'd finished eating. The desserts looked tempting but nobody wanted to chance a long wait. Good food, contemporary and comfortable setting where conversations were possible at normal volumes, this place was popular on a Thursday night. Despite the hiccups with our drinks, I left with a feeling this place might deserve another go.

Sentational food. Sensational staff. We're gluten free and dairy free diners. We didn't even ask for desert because gf + df desert is so rare. The waitress came to tell us the chef was prepared to make us a gf + df desert from scratch if we were interested! Thank you for a wonderful re-entry experience after a long lockdown Tazio!

Best gluten free pizza I have ever had. EVER. I'd probably fly from Tasmania again just to eat it. Mushroom with parmesan and truffle oil as recommended by our wonderful waiter. Antipasto (also available GF) was also delicious. Staff were all friendly and accommodating. Just a really great experience, thank you for having us.

I really like this place! Delightful staff from the moment you walk in, to the moment you leave (satisfied!) ;) Its a nice quaint place to eat at with friends or family, with a broad shot of alcoholic drinks, and a nice selection to match with the menu.. pizza being a majority, but also pasta, fish and meat. Being the style of place this is, I dived into the Pasta Penne with Amatriciana sauce with chicken bits. :) oh, it was wonderful. Pasta was perfect, chicken was tender and a delight, plentiful sauce so enough to cover my meal with as I took each bite. TLDR; I ate the whole plate! Now its dessert and the menu shouted at me Banana Pizza with Custard and Vanilla Ice Cream. I'm sure I will love it! Staff: 10/10 they are attentive and kind Food: 10/10 lovely! Lighting/Surroundings: 9/10 Can't really hear the table next to me talk, but hear minor bits. And if i have to nitpick and force myself to say something negative, then it would be the chairs are a bit rickety, they are wooden, which adds to the charm and character of the place. Would eat here again. :)

I arrange a private function for 19 people at tazio and the service from initial contact to on the night was amazing!! The team at tazio were super helpful and friendly. The food was so yum and plenty off it for a group booking on their function menu. Great value for money too. Came here for an early dinner and ordered the fish of the day which was salmon and mash. I am glad I had a BOGOF offer because paying full price for this would definitely not be worth it. Portion size is tiny, 3 spears of asparagus, a scoop of mash and a small piece of salmon. Salmon was cooked ok, bit over done but it wasn't dry. Service was good but we left still feeling hungry.

Good pizza. Little Creatures beer on tap. Friendly, efficient staff. We dropped in on a Sunday night after seeing a movie at Kino. They were fine with us not having a booking and welcomed us in. The tables are on a few different levels and when we were seated on the lower level we realised that we could see up the skirts of the people on the table on the level above us, which just meant that we had to not look that way until that table left, lol. Very bland Gold 104 music playlist.

Had the eggplant parma it was fairly okay lacked seasoning. The salad and chips were good. A bit of a let down for me was the actual crumb of the parma for some reason was a but soggy. Might try out the pizzas next time around, be sure to book a table before hand especially around lunch time. This place was packed at about 12.30 Staff and service was pretty good and the ambiance was very lively at lunchtime.

Just had an event for 30 people @ Tazio. From A to Z, beginning to end, everything was fantastic. Food was delicious and plentiful, great selection of drinks and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The place, decoration, organisation of tables and settings could not be faulted. Tucked away on Flinders Lane - Tazio is a chic italian restaurant with delicious pizzas and pasta! Always busy you have the option of enjoying a private room dinner with mates! Prices are budget friendly and the food is delicious! Service immaculate! Definitely worth a stop if you are roaming the city at night.

The staff are lovely, the venue is gorgeous and spacious, and the food is delicious, filling and well-seasoned. Would definitely recommend. What a great restaurant to celebrate our Covid Xmas lunch. Tucked away in the lane way I enjoyed the salmon. A very generous serve. My colleague enjoyed the pizza, gnocchi and chicken mains. All meals full of flavour in a very comfortable environment.

The seafood pasta had fresh tasting seafood and well cooked pasta, a definite recommend. Additionally, the steak was a beautiful dish, however, greater care to temperatures may be required. Was still a great tasting dish but the most important thing with steaks is the temperature. The cocktails were also good with a good range.

For 7 months during the lockdown this was were I picked up my tea nearly every night. The staff were fantastic! The food was always first class. I never got the chance to eat in, but intend to soon. All the staff remembered me, were happy and so welcoming. Big shout out to Ray who made a special delivery to my Hotel when I was too late for the kitchen to be open. And the physical set up is awe-inspiring. Eat here and support the amazing inner city restaurants Melbourne offers, this is one of my favourites!

Went to Tazio on the first ‘open’ Friday in Melbourne and they were just amazing in fitting in our larger group. We were pretty loud and having fun after being locked up and the staff were just so accommodating, put us in a seperate area and let us have fun. Food was delicious, service was excellent.

From initial discussions and arrangements for food/drink/entertainment, Ray was most helpful, offering some great suggestions and flexibility with party ideas. Also, his staff on the night were great - engaging with us and ensuring everyone got enough food and drink, and really looked after us - being very attentive! The food was very quick to arrive and generous servings and delicious, which everyone appreciated and commented on!! Tazio's was the perfect venue for my or any celebration or a dinner with friends. Wanted a casual dinner and happened to walk by and decided pizza would be perfect. Walked in minus reservation and although quite busy we were sat down quickly on the main floor which became loud as the night went on. The upper floors may be a quieter choice. The waitstaff were fun and the atmosphere enjoyable. the pizza was perfect. Our group of eight managed to score the large table near the back stairs. Very cosy. This is the second time we booked an event with Tazio. First time was a baby shower at their old venue and all our guests had a wonderful time. Great food and awesome service hence we decided to book another event with Tazio. This time we had our daughter’s first birthday at Tazio new venue in their function room upstairs. What a gorgeous venue - loved the stunning window backdrop and opened space. We were able to decorate the space how we wanted it. Incredible service on the day especially Anthony and Victoria. Super helpful and friendly and they looked after all our guests brilliantly. Anything we asked for, they were happy to assist us with. Also loved that we could use the private dining room for the Magic show. The kids had an area that was safe and carpeted and were kept entertained by the magician while the adults could eat and drink. All our guests had an amazing time and loved the venue. Thanks Tazio for a great day. Highly recommend this venue to anyone planning a party.

My friends and I had a lovely dinner here in late November. We were a big table who placed different orders at different times as some were running late yet the service was amazing and the food even better. The restaurant has a wide yet intimate atmosphere and one definitely gets more than what they paid for. I had the chorizo pasta and it was amazing, still drooling at the thought of it! Although the service was great, I would like to say a special thank you to one of the waiters, I believe his name is Dillip. He was very friendly, attentive and patient with all of us, we really appreciate his service.

I had the express lunch - pizza and a glass of wine for $28. Pizza options are nice and the food is great quality. The pizza style is a thin base with fresh ingredients. There are vegetarian options. It's a bit of a pricier option but nice for a treat.

Quite a nice Italian Restaurant / Pizzeria, would definitely come back Quite a nice restaurant, we were seated inside, the table setting was quite nice, the waiters were attentive and had good memories. We come here as my wife loves pizza and she had the spicy salami one, the base was excellent the flavours were good it was perhaps a little overcooked on top. I had the Salmon with artichoke and asparagus and it was delicious. Add that with a couple of cheap cocktails and a coffee and it was a nice meal for $88 aud for the two of us.

Had dinner here for 10 people last night and the service was far from being good. It started well with the starters but there was almost an hour waiting for the main plates. It took more than 30 min to deliver from the first plate to the last one. They offered dessert to share to compensate for it but couldn't understand the slow service when the restaurant wasnt at full capacity. Food was great but the service wasn't enough.

I booked a small function at Tazio this week and I can not tell you how much I appreciate everything that everyone at Tazio did to ensure we had a great night. I have often had to book functions for this group and we have never had as good an experience as we did at your restaurant. I often have to deal with venues who make small functions like ours difficult. Whether it be insisting on a set menu or not allowing split bills, there is always a challenge. Everything about our function with you was easy and smooth and I am so thankful. My guests were so impressed by the venue. There was plenty of space, it was easy to move around, the bar was close by and the PowerPoint set up was perfect. The staff member who took care of us was so friendly and helpful and nothing seemed to be any trouble. The food was delicious! The starters came out just as I wanted them to and the mains all arrived quickly and together. Such great value for money. I will certainly be recommending your venue to everyone I know and hope that we may visit you again sometime soon.

We had our Xmas function at Tazio on Friday night and it couldn't have gone off better. The staff were friendly and very helpful, the food was excellent. It was in the funky basement room for our group of 60. This was probably the best Xmas party we've had in the city, very highly recomend Tazio for a great night out.

We organised a group dinner for a work function. We called up and booked for 30 people hoping for the best. When we arrived the staff were warm and welcoming, friendly and accommodating. We were blow away by the quality and amount of food we received(having ordered the banquet). They even printed out custom menus with our work logo on it. To say we would recommend Tazio Birraria Pizzeria & Cucina would be an understatement. It is a fantastic venue that we will be recommending. Thank you for a great night.

We booked Tazio for a 12-person dinner after a team strategy day. From the first contact through to last they were professional, efficient, and thoughtful - following up to make sure everything had been considered for a large dinner group with a few dietary requirements. On the night itself they ushered us into a great private room, gave us our own sound system so we could control the music, and even though we were separated from the main restaurant (a blessing as we tend to rowdiness), they didn't forget us for a moment. The food was good and plentiful (very plentiful!!) and we had an amazing night, at very good value. Thanks so much to *ALL* of the team for a wonderful evening. :-)

Big fan of Tazio. A small establishment buried on the current of two busy streets, it's easy to miss. And missing it is doing yourself a disservice. The pizza is definitely the standout here. The meals are a reasonable size with limited but high quality ingredients. You won't be disappointed. Also, shout out to Tommy. The first Harry Styles lookalike. Just kidding - awesome waiter!

Tazio once hosted my 21st birthday party and did a great job! Everyone told me that the food was amazing and loved every moment of the party, so if you're thinking of having a function here, I highly recommend it, because the food was the talk of the town for days after! Nonetheless, Tazio is also a great restaurant to go to after work, to unwind and relax. Their pizzas are delicious and not too expensive!

Our meals were delectable, I had the Cotoletta my partner the Risotto. There is also a good choice of wine and beer. The setting is great for both a romantic dinner for two or a natter with friends at the outside tables. We loved it and will definitely be revisiting soon. We had our pre-wedding dinner here just over a month ago and we were amazed by the quality of service and the food. It was the perfect venue for us as there was something for everyone on the menu (food intolerance friendly) and it's in a central location which made it easy to get to. The pizzas here are very tasty. We didnt find it so authentic however they were really good. We got the prawn liguini which was very basic, but not bad. Will definitely try a different dish next time.

Excellent venue for a party. The staff (particularly Ray) were extremely friendly and helpful in ensuring Tazio was able to meet all my party requirements. Hidden gem at the top end of town. Excellent menu - simple, honest and authentic Italian at very reasonable prices. Great selection of beers and wine; friendly, efficient staff who are attentive without being overbearing. Note it can get noisy at busy times and/or large group bookings. Recommended!

This as a great little pizzeria and bar well situated in Flinders Lane. When i come down for work to Melbourne, our accommodation is right across the road, so this place becomes our extended kitchen. The pizzas (take away included) are authentic Italian with a large selection. While we were often waiting for our pizzas we would sit at the bar with a drink. It was enjoyable to dine in the restaurant too. I really love their desserts menu. The only thing I'll note is because it's kind of tucked into a building, the building decorations and decor don't absorb a lot of the sound and it can get very very loud - especially on a Friday afternoon.

If you like mediocre music that was semi popular 20+ years ago then this is the place for you. Ordered the margherita which had definitely broken some laws such as putting the basil in the oven with the pizza (no! This ruins the flavour! Now it's a sad crisp!); a solid lack of buffalo blobs and nowhere near enough sauce. The base was nicely crispy although this is not traditional. Bathrooms reminded me of those on an airplane. Service was okay, my server was great but others were a little inattentive. This end of town deserves better.

Flew in from Sydney late in the evening and was looking for a place for a late dinner. Stumbled upon this joint and glad I did. Good food. Good service. Excellent price. With the exception of Sydney's breaches, it is places like Tazio's that make Melbourne Australia's best city.

Giving 4 stars only because of the waiters who are very kind and nice. Pizza is quite small and just okay, pricey for the size. Crust is see-through thin and hard at the edges, not the same at all as in the 400 degree oven.

A top place for pizzas and a drink. Visited there last week and really enjoyed the food and the setting. Very relaxed and friendly. Great prices too, so you feel happy at the end. They also have a top caesar salad and their version of a chicken parma. Yum all round. I think couples and small groups would enjoy this place equally. There was a group of girls having a night out and looking pretty happy with their cocktails and pizza. Tazio works a treat!

Everytime I come here the pizzas are nothing less than delicious. The pizzas are soft on the inside but with a crispy surrounding and slightly crispy topping. They are a bit pricy but definitely worth the extra few dollars for a delicious wholesome meal.

I have lunch here once every week or two and it's my favourite spot. The lunch deal from Monday to Thursday is great and the pizzas taste amazing. I usually order the porco carne pizza. I seriously recommend this place for any visitors to Melbourne and anyone who works in the east of the CBD.

Pretty nice place. My pizza came about 10 minutes after everyone else's did. The pizza's crust is too thin, dry and crunchy, as if the base was made from a frozen one. The true best pizza in Victoria is at Forge in Ballarat.

A recent team building function held at Tazio on the first floor terrace was perfectly executed - from the impeccable service to the beautifully prepared food to the space itself, the compliments from everyone who attended couldn’t be higher. They loved how fast and continuous the food service was and how everyone’s needs were catered for. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Tazio for team get togethers and with multiple spaces available, they can cater to all needs. We will certainly be back.
