The views are amazing and the staff are great.
Highly reccomend a detour when visiting the area.

Warm, country style restaurant - great views out the back and on the drive there - the most courteous and warm people you will meet - the food was great, rustic, country style food. We had brekkie, seated at the table by the window at the back. We noticed several reservation for lunch.
The food was delicious, with very healthy items used especially the sourdough, warm and freshly baked. Enjoyed the pot of tea and had to get a coffee takeaway for the drive back through the rolling hills.
Met the owners dad who came over and had a chat with us. Heard a lot of history about the place and he directed us to the most scenic cricket ground we have ever seen half a mile down the road. Hydd Park Reserve.
The ambience was warm and hospitable. Great to listen to the chats other guest sitting by the fire were having with the owners. We are going back for the roasted lunch with lamb, pork and beef.
A great experience. Must go, call ahead to book a table.

A great family owned little business. Friendly good food and the sticky date pudding is to die for.

While staying in Neerim South, just 10kms away, we visited the Jindi Caf'and most importantly found the owner and staff welcoming and professional. Good coffee and our eggs and bacon cooked to our liking. We were also impressed by the cleanliness. If you are in the area, you should give them a try.

Best burger I've had in a very long time.

On Thursday 29th Apr, Three of us Ladybirds had the best time at this country cafe! It’s the whole package of location for dreamers, the expansive and generous backdrops, the setting, the service, the food… It’s a sweet after taste on my experience! The staff went all out to make sure we are comfortable, that the dirty chai is up to standard , the flathead fish and chips were good enough,…. Took photos of us like professionals…. More of us will be back! Weekdays is all I have. But many have asked to join in on weekends! I am so glad I booked as you even prepared the table so nicely for us! Definitely worth the >120-150km drive there for each of us! Jindivik is certainly a day for soul searching and healing! Not only the drive there is beautiful, to have my spirits rejuvenated by The most exotic garden at Broughton Hall, followed by your special service at lunch, then the short walks up to see the most scenic tennis courts, the most scenic cricket pitch, the most scenic outdoor gym,…. And the expressions of individuality and talents at the metal sculptures! Not to mention Nangara Reserve! You made our day there so happy!!

We went there for lunch on Melbourne Cup Day and had their roast dinners (lamb and pork) with all the traditional trimmings. Both were delicious. Staff very welcoming and efficient. Old fashioned meal in an old-world dining room in a beautiful setting with a view across to Mt Baw Baw with snow on it. We will be back.
S. B.

I wish I could pop by every day, I absolutely loved it!!
Stunning views, beautifully kind and attentive hospitality with so many yummy options that are so reasonably priced - definitely make sure you make a booking for Sunday lunch so you don't miss out!
Don,t let the distance from Melbourne deter you as it's well worth the trip! Jindivick and the surrounding area with the lush green rolling hills is divine to drive through.
Hope to see you all again soon ❤

Lovely views, great interior, friendly staff, great service. The only thing that lets it down is the burgers could be larger for the price paid, would be 5 stars otherwise. But will happily go back.
Went this afternoon for lunch and tried the burger again. It was fantastic and should be entered for Victoria's best burgers. Thanks for reading my review and redoing the burgers
A. R.
Is this place still open? Drove by today. Newly painted building that looks great but no evidence it’s a cafe anymore. Pity if it isn’t as we used to love it. Sitting in the garden having the Jindi burger with our two schnauzers, Maggie and Mavis.
Edited: just checked your website. Noticed it said you’d moved across the road. Sorry, didn’t notice it. Was looking at the old place and drove by. Next time!

We fell in love with the Jindi Caf! When we decided we wanted a proper country Sunday roast, some extensive googling led us to settle on this quaint establishment in Jindivick, about an hour's drive from where we are in Melbourne. The atmosphere is beyond gorgeous with views of bright green, rolling hills and a roaring fireplace to set the scene. Sue is the most remarkable, kind and attentive host and we thoroughly enjoyed chatting to her and her father throughout our visit. The food was amazing - PROPER home-style, delicious roast (we had pork - amazing) which was exactly what we were after. As someone that suffers from a severe peanut allergy, it's always a risk eating out anywhere but Sue made me feel safe, heard and comfortable. Regardless of the drive, we plan on being proud Jindi Caf regulars. Whatever you do - check out this gorgeous restaurant.
V. G.
Love them. The best cakes in all of our region. Lovely little cafe with the warmest service and unadulterated delicious homecooked style food. I keep going for their passionfruit sponge - worth the drive.
S. A.

H.
Wonderful hospitality, beautiful atmosphere. Very hard to think of a more tranquil environment to enjoy life's simple open pleasure's. Food was fantastic. Dont forget to try the best pumpkin soup ever.
J. G. A.
Nice little restaurant in the country. The food was good but the portions were too small for the price
M. W.
Something if a time capsule for us.
We were told of the great home made food at The Jindi Cafe and decided to make a booking for Sunday and try it out. The booking was essential as this is a very popular place. The old place was a bit rough but had real charm and was simply a prelude for what was to come by way of food. The food was just like we had as kids, the good old Sunday roast with all the trimmings and tasted just like my dear old mum used to cook. Desert? Well I had home made Golden Syrup Dumplings which I have never seen or heard of for decades. This all took us back to being kids and we never thought we would ever experience that again. The staff were just wonderful, so friendly, nothing too much trouble, time for a chat and a laugh. Well all in all we cant recommend this place enough. It truly was an experience.

We went to this cafe around 7pm on a Saturday after a snow trip to Mt Baw Baw & not expecting it to be open. We just wanted to have some coffee & dessert. We were taken by surprise by the friendly & welcoming staff there. The coffee & cakes were delicious and they were so reasonably priced. Glad we didn't buy coffee from Mt Baw Baw. The atmosphere was cozy & just wonderful. Even their washroom looks so classy we took some photos there :) A perfect country place. I would be going there again and again, if I live around there. They are open 7 days a week. Just fantastic. I would be finding a reason to go there again in summer :)
