Delicious traditional Greek food. They really how to cook the seafoods and Lamb well. It is run by family and has been there for while. Their sauce is full of flavors.

Well Located in Lonsdale St, the Heart of Melbournes Greek Prescint, Tsindos offers a great variety of Delicious Traditional Greek Cuisine and for those that want a quick bite to go, right on Heffeeman Lane, Tsindos offers Take Away too. The staff are very friendly and the service is fast. The Lamb Souvlaki is actually the Best and when it comes to Souvlakis , I've been around to know that as a fact. So for the Best Souvlakis in Melbourne , Tsindos is a must go to place.

This has been our 'goto' Greek restaurant for years. However something has changed, the food was quite dry and meat overcooked. Prices seemed to have jumped up too and no more BYO. Not sure I would return or recommend anymore.

My dad was in town and craving Greek food so we tried this spot. It's quaint and cute and feels "authentic" so our hopes were high. We ordered a selection of dishes to share, some of which were hits but many of which were misses. While everything was fine, some dishes (like the greens, tzatziki and potatoes) felt pricy for what you get. All dishes also lacked salt and I don't even usually require much salt on my food. What was great was the saganaki, served on a hot plate with lemon. The pita and the roast potatoes that came with the fish were also quite nice. While the space and service and some dishes were good, I wouldn't prioritise going back to this spot but it was worth a try.

One of the better greek restaurants on the cbd! Made a booking for one and upon entering, i was greeted by the friendly staff. Food was served in a timely manner and enjoyed every bit of it. We attended a Birthday Party function with a set menu. The food was delicious. The service was great. There are only two things that I would note: 1. If you have dietary requirements, you might want to check out the menu beforehand and determine what you can eat. The wait staff did their best to accommodate on the spot with mixed results. 2. The music was too loud and seemed to get louder as the evening progressed. This made it difficult to hear each other at the relatively long tables. That said, it was appropriate music for the location

My partner and I were famished, so we decided to pop into this very homey little establishment, and immediately were impressed with the customer service; despite not having a reservation and it being just prior to peak dinner service, the staff still managed to find the time and table to fully serve us. An absolutely wonderful young lady made us feel very welcomed, and promptly took our order. What arrived at our table (the mixed grill for 2) has set the bar for all future Greek eats for us. Every single type of meat and vegetable on the plate was absolutely delicious and fresh, as well as being the perfect portion size to share. Even the bread and tzatziki was brilliant: piping hot and mouth watering. Food to die for, live Greek music, as well as being in an excellent location in the city? What more could one ask for? Easiest 5 stars I’ve given.

Went here 3 weeks ago and it was amazing, sat outside with the live music and had the banquet! We had everything the review below said they didn’t. Visited Tsindos for mums 80th birthday after reading all the reviews. If you're after an authentic Greek experience I can't recommend this place enough. Georgia and the staff are amazing, very warm, welcoming and attentive. The food was excellent we had the set menu there was plenty of everything and all cooked to perfection. We also had the pleasure of enjoying the live music which was also excellent. I can't recommend this place enough, its 10 stars. Thank you for an amazing evening Tsindos.

We booked a table outside super last minute and unlucky for us it started to rain, the restaurant manager and staff were very accommodating, re arranging the table set up to include an umbrella and making sure we felt comfortable the whole time. We ordered fish soup and octopus which was delicious and as we were seated right infront of the band, we got to enjoy a live show of awesome Greek singing. We sat upstairs and the atmosphere was great. We ordered a banquet which was served up in a timely fashion by the friendly wait staff. The food was nice but a little too salty for my tastes and the dessert with the banquet was a 6/10.There are a lot of traditional Greek dishes on the menu and I would give this a try over the banquet next time. In the time of Covid when most of the places are closed, we were at a lookout out for greek food takeaway and stumped upon Tsindos. They had take away food option through a small window/kitchen in the lane next to restaurant. The person at the counter was extremely humble and courteous. He modified the dish as per our requirements and even gave us a discount on the final bill. We ordered souvlaki and it was delicious, the chicken was cooked to the perfection with smoky flavour. We are definitely visiting again once restrictions are eased ! Thank you. Must appreciate the efforts of the restaurant that they are making to bring in customers with offering discount when they are probably at their lowest business due to pandemic. Must try !!

Return visit here on a Thursday night, and it was everything we expected and more. We over ordered (as you do) and went the haloumi over pork, grilled peppers, and the monstrous seafood platter. All perfectly cooked, and served by the house matriarch who was happy to chat about the foods. Drinks were fine, the only negative was the table location in front of the door, but if the alternative is not eating at Tsindos, then bring me a jacket.

Entrees were not what we expected and if ordering seafood, please ask for it to be cooked through thoroughly as ours was undercooked. Knowing how seafood should be cooked and knowing how to cook it properly is very important to customers and should be taken into account to prevent food borne illnesses.

Wonderful Greek menu with helpful staff. I was staying overnight for work and on a cold winters night stumbled across this lovely spot. The lead waitress was very helpful in guiding me on my options. Menu had lots of lovely Greek options and on a cold night I was spoilt for choice. In the end I chose the combination of casserole with moussaka - delicious and hearty! I just have turned up at a good time and got in. Might be worth calling for a reservation if you need a specific time.

One of the best experiences I have had a restaurant. After several months searching for a new Greek restaurant, a friend has suggested Tsindos. Once walking in, we were greeted with a small but cosy place. We were greeted by our server Georgina and placed our order. The food was really good. Although we ordered small items, the flavor was still incredible and still quite filling (highly recommended the sagnaki). As we devoured our food, Georgina came by and told us stories about her life, and the restaurant. That was a whole new experience as it was like she was a friend of ours. Absolutely 100% will be returning here as our regular geek restaurant!

I can honestly say that I found dining at Tsindos far more enjoyable than at that (more famous?) Greek restaurant, Stalactites. Our food was marvelous (very minor quibble was the slightly burnt calamari). We were very pleased with the halloumi and fish - flavourful and just the right portion size. The service was next to none - our waitress was a true gem. We will definitely be back next time we're in Melbourne!

The staff are very courteous and attentive. I enjoyed all the meals. We had dolmades, taramasalata dip, grilled calamari, yellow capsicum, and a fish dish. I recommend people share a variety of the entrees. There is flat wheelchair entry and the staff are considerate to disability needs.

Just had the mixed grill for main course that had a variety of meats including a shish kebab that were cooked in a Greek bbq style. Greek salad and vegetables were included. A marvellous dish where meat and vegetables complement each other for a real taste thrill. Service was excellent, too, for this annual gf client!

The food was beautiful- not a complaint can I make. I developed a partially liking for the seafood platter. The service was ok. The only issue came when paying the bill by eftpos. A flat 1.5% fee saw me paying over $5 just for the privilege of paying the bill and I'm not talking using the creditcard. The signage for this is apparently hidden over by the till- which I never approached. If banks have been told to stop charging outrageous fees for services they're not providing then surely operators like this are next. Definitely left a bitter taste in the mouth and spoilt what had been a good night out.

Great place to eat, centrally located near the corner Russell St & Lonsdale St, public transport or drive. Parking across the road at QV $12 flat rate for night & weekends or Wilson parking next door at $10 flat rate. Genuine greek food family owned resturant, excellent knowledgeable, fast & extremely friendly wait staff. Proper tableclothes & napkins. I dont drink so cannot recommend any alcohol, its also byo with corkage charge but the coffee is excellent. I was in a party of 20 people so we had a banquet at $60 a head, which came out frequently & plenty of it, selection of, fried halomi cheese, grilled octopus & whole prawns, selection of 4 house made dips with plenty of fresh pita bread, whole grilled fish & side vegetables like ratatoue & tomato puree sauce. Fried & lightly battered calamari & whole sardine. Beautiful greek salad with the best tomatoes & creamy goats feta. Lamb rissoles, sliced grilled chicken like souvlaki & spicy chorizo sausage with marinated peppers. Dessert was a mixed plate of baklava, fresh sultana grapes, chocolates & hazelnut l think like soft biscuit & the nicest things of eaten in dessert but dont know the name which was coconut base with like a soft mousse disc & cream cheese top, whatever it was, it was light & so moreish l had 4. Probably left something out but as you can see by the detail, l was impressed & highly recommend to celebrate any occasion or just to have dinner. Has 2 levels & wheelchair access but a little bit tight.

Tsindos is right in the heart of Melbourne's CBD. There's really no parking on the street though I'd bet there are garages nearby - certsinly plenty of public transit. The lower ground floor is wheelchair accessible though I believe there's a much needed upper level. The place was very popular. Interestingly, we had an easy time talking with on another. Fine. It was just after Xmas, so maybe they hadn't gotten up to speed yet. BUT, despite telling me several times how sorry he was about the food etc, the manager didn't take a single cent off the price. Oh come on! We wanted this, it wasn't available. We order this and this instead, and it wasn't available either. Thought about going somewhere else but decided to not be rude and at least get something from here, and got charged full price. Not a great customer experience. And it's a reasonably pricy place too. I'm not grumpy about it, but I won't come back or recommend it either.
