Still one of the best pastas in town. Friendly staff too. Don't know what some people are nagging about not being 'Italian enough'... A delicious pasta doesn't necessarily mean "Authentic Italian" and vice versa. I had horrible pastas in Italy myself. if you want Authentic Italian, go to Italy.

What a neighbourhood gem! Came for dinner - the baked cheese and mortadella and prosciutto tortellini were highlights! Quite an extensive pasta menu, especially for such a small kitchen, including a delicious array of seafood pasta options. Also great that it is BYO and only $3 per person! Will absolutely be back.

Such a wonderful little Italian restaurant. We went here for my partners birthday for the first time and will definitely be returning. The food was really tasty and very well presented, with the serving sizes just right. The staff were really friendly and the chef came out himself to greet us and wish a happy birthday to my partner. The restaurant has such a beautiful atmosphere and had small details like warm blankets in baskets outside for the diners brave enough to face the winter night and enjoy some great Italian food.

Wonderful place with great service and even better food. Great pastas and risotto but for me the baked cheese with truffle oil starter is worth the visit alone. Daytime brekkie and coffee is pretty good too, however the Italian cuisine is the star of the show.

We had an amazing meal tonight. If you are looking for authentic Italian pasta, deserts and coffee this is the place. The meals are well priced, the service is fast. and there is a great kids menu. When the weather heats up there is a nice outdoor area for those who prefer to eat outside. The owner is authentic Italian and has poured his heart and soul into the ambiance and cuisine and it shows.

Tried something new this evening . Not quite what we were expecting and felt it a bit pricey for what it was . Will stick to what we enjoyed the last few times . Always an easy drop in place to get a good spag bol . Definitely persional taste but a must try .

Blackboard Special was average but surprised to find it $10 above the most expensive meal on the menu. Price should have been quoted on the board. Overall experience was below par and expensive for a small suburban eatery. Would I go there again? Not likely.

Back in Perth for a holiday & so many choices for brunch etc. My favourite? Small but funky Cariola. Wonderfully friendly couple who run it. So helpful & positive. Cafe has a great vibe & the best coffee I've tasted so far. Delicious food. I keep going back I just love it.

A friendly reasonably priced place to eat in North Perth. $15 pizza and pastas. BYO wines, friendly staff. Inside is small, so book if you want inside on a weekend. We sat outside with the heaters and blankets. I had the garlic bread and gnocchi and loved it. Added the $7 garden salad which was great value for money

I've been here three times and each time I've been greeted by a different person and all of them have welcomed me warmly. I find that rare. The coffee is made extremely well, water is put on the table and everybody says thanks when you leave. Great place.

We stumbled on this little gem by mistake ... what a find !!!! cheap as chips - wonderful smiling friendly staff - and the food !!!!!! I honestly thought I'd died & gone to heaven - the sauces were amazing - perfectly prepared - WITH my request for extra chilli met with "would you like that IN the dish sir - or on the side ?" then beautifully presented exactly as I had asked .... this is a DO NOT MISS..... .BEST Italian ever I think ..... with the odd Kimchi twist ! Fabulous

Another gorgeous meal at Cariola last night: perfect end to a “scorcher” day eating outside! Garlic bread and Carbonara Special to die for! Henry and Mia perfect hosts: very attentive and friendly, making you feel truly at home. ..... and BTW, the pasta is DEFINITELY freshly cooked!! 😄

So lucky to have Henry and Mia startup their restaurant business nearby. No matter how many times we come back I always find something on the menu that turns out exceptionally enjoyable. The staff are super friendly, and the ambiance inside is cosy and intimate. If you are hungry in North Perth Cariola is an affordable quality option for breakfast or dinner (maybe you'll need to book a table).

Love this place. The chef is a pasta and risotto enthusiast who has a clear love for his materials and how to get the most flavour out of them. If you like authentic, he can do authentic. But if you like it done with a passion and a twist, with years of tasting and experimentation to get something new, different and tremendously flavoursome, then that's why you come to Cariola. Here's an example, he doesn't just use parmesan or pecorino cheese, he uses a blend of 4 or 5 cheeses to make a perfect mixture, that tastes just right; and he does that with all his ingredients, such is his dedication. He might put a dash of cream in his carbonara and he knows that it's inauthentic to do so; he also doesn't have any guanciale, but he's a pasta nerd and his combination of Italian cured pork within his "carbonara" is one of the tastiest in town. So if you're after the old school traditional stuff, sure he can do it; but I would go there if you want something just a little bit different, done by a man who clearly loves what he's doing and is obsessed with the craft; a chef who knows that taste is the most important thing.
