What a view!
Go when specials are on. Eg 300g steak w chips for $18. Unbeatable! Courtesy Bus to and from venue was great (and dog friendly) too.
Has formal area too.

R. T.Offshore marine FIFO crew loves going to the Mermaid hotel for some food and drinks before catching their flight back to Perth . Cosy little hotel situated in a very cosy community.
If there is a cyclone offshore and need to evacuate the ship/oil rig , there is a chance the crew will be stand-by in this hotel .
j.Awesome grub, shame about the grumpy old manager that is there. Just because your sad with your own life mate, don't need to try and make every one else miserable.
d.The outside facade looks a bit old. But the room is quite nice. I got an ocean view balcony which is a big plus. The food from the restaurant is pretty good. And th staffs are friendly and helpful. If you are staying here for work and doing weird hours shift, they will cater to your meal time. The only negative is the toilet is a bit old.

D. R.Called in to get a feed & a beer after a show & shine. Didnt stay for either. Went into one of the bars rang the bell for service only to be rather curtly informed that the bar wasn't open. The area was open as a seating area only, if you want service you'll have to go to the other bar , where people were 7 deep trying to get a drink. The car/bike show is an annual advertised event that this hotel obviously was not prepared for. Staff were very much under the pump and not managing. Whilst I empathize, I am still the customer who wants a cold beer with a meal (The back bone of your buisness), not lousy service & impolite service with a side of attitude. Good food, cold drinks and friendly service @ the KI.
R. H.If you want the best and coldest beers on tap with the greatest views in the Pilbara then this is the pub for you. Food is excellent and I highly recommend the all you can eat on Sundays. No better value anywhere else.
d. s.Great meals, very good as it's pet friendly. Really nice view of the ocean and ideal location. Close to cafe and iga. Relaxed atmosphere and great sunset. Kangaroos to be seen hopping around too.

B. L.The staff were friendly and helpful. I ordered the fish chips and salad and it was very good. The problem is there is no one else around and it totally lacks any atmosphere. It is an old fashioned pub and could do with a revamp but certainly was ok.

M. F.Rundown and uncared for. Rooms are good size but could be cleaner especially the shower. The bistro serves very generous portions. Were surprised to find lobster mornay on the menu which was quite nice. Staff were very friendly. Dampier and Karratha as a whole are industrial mining towns. Bypass if possible.

R. N.Run-down establishment in need of a major makeover. Staff nearly all appear to be new at their jobs, and lacking knowledge, but they're cheerful, and try hard. Food is average, accommodation is old and tired with scrappy beds, badly worn locks, tired old air conditioners, and well-worn facilities overall. Needs a good revamp involving major expenditure.
