I have been coming to Govinda's since 2007. Great food, price is unbeaten, positive vibes and very helpful staff. There are parking spots right in front of the restaurant and on the opposite side of the road as well which proves to be very handy.

Staff was warm and helpful, and the atmosphere is pleasant, with natural light coming in from bustling Williams Street. Also a minute away from the library, so a no brainer if you're a student looking for a cheap and tasty lunch.

You can get a 3 course meal for a price of only 9-$11, first course is a vegetarian curry with rice, vegetables and samosa if desired, second course you get a rose water lassi which is so so good and is very cooling, thirdly for dessert, there is halva with custard

I recommend this restaurant! The food here is quite good, and the prices are excellent. I really enjoy eating here. The Krishna Combo meals are always served in really generous sizes (perhaps it would be better to have a smaller serving first then get seconds if still hungry). The halava with custard is quite good. When I am not too hungry, I usually have a samosa which fills me up.

Amazing South Indian Vegan food. $13 for a plate of rice and veggies and the Indian sweet Kesari with custard and you can even ask for a second serve of the dishes! The sweet lassi is very delicious too! Apart from rice you can also buy samosa or pakoras as extra! A very divine vegan food!

Delicious, one of perth's best cheap eats. All meals here vegan or vegetarian. Extremely satisfying, filling and nutritionally complete meals. Will make you think - the world can be fed well with food like this. Do we need the levels of excess and over consumption running our world dry at our current rate?

A simplistic style cafe with humble meal for cheap price and all served on one silver platter with compartments. Includes a dessert and it's what the meal of the day is. Whilst I was there, I witnessed the patrons offer a man who was either drunk, delirious or homeless a container with a meal and asked for no payment. The homeless guy actually looked surprised and extended his gratitude by shaking the patrons hand with a smile on his face. It's not a fancy place but it's Hassle free and peaceful.

Pure vegetarian food at a good price.I had taken the thali in which they give real generous amount to fill up the stomach or get over filled and one can take more if needed like a buffet.The only thing that was a miss was the taste,as some people have already pointed out in their reviews the taste is hit or miss case ,at times. They have to work on giving a good taste every time as it's simple food so shouldn't be difficult to get good flavour. Nothing was bad as such or to complain except taste improvement needed and for a small establishment they have toilets to use. Tips for owner:Improve the taste and you rating will increase.

Zero ambience with 4 tiny tables. Variety of food wise, this place bdoes not deserve to be a "restaurant" . In terms of taste, very mild. Number of dishes on plate also is like 2-3. Their samosas shape does not resemble like one. Did not dare to eat one and it costs extra on meal. This place has good rating probably because they serve one plate of limited food that is cooked that day for 6 dollars. I had the 12 dollars one which comes with diluted shake which they happened to call Lassi. Would not go there again. Can go there just to fill tummy by any means but not to enjoy food. They did not even inform me that the food is unlimited. Closed glass having no access to food has left me think the food is limited.

I used to come here 20 years ago back in my student days when in the evening you could pay 2 bucks and get all you can eat from a plastic container. Ahhh, good times, revisited for the first time since then when popping into Perth and the prices might have gone up but it's still a great cheap feed and nice fresh quality. 😊

Fast service but not always friendly service. Also make sure that you are paying CLOSE ATTENTION to payment!!! I got a $8. T/A & gave them a $50 bill, I got $12 back and they swore I only paid $20. I had just withdrawn the $50. from an ATM for the food, parking and petrol on the drive home! I honestly believe that he realized early on that he had made a mistake but the restaurant was busy, every head turned, all silent and watching my transaction...as a result, he was too embarrassed to admit to a mistake made! But had the restaurant been quiet I truly believe that there would have been no issue once he realised! It was just a pride thing...

A simple concept indeed to opt between the choices from the line of dishes or "All You can Eat" buffet. Taste-wise - lovely, lots of flavours and yummy-yummo. At the first mouth, you feel the deliciousness. Hard to describe but I knew cooked with love and precisely without stinging on the essential ingredients. A must try.
