Absolutely recommended! We booked a table and dined here for my birthday and when we came in everything has been prepared including the high chair for my little one. The steak was amazing, the best one I had so far! My baby was so glad to have the kids menu that comes with the coloring kit. The service was very good and all the team members are so friendly. Also got a surprise birthday gift that I was not even expected for! Will definitely come back on other occasions.

We made a late booking on a Saturday night and were surprised to see so few people in the restaurant. My partner ordered the SIrloin and it was cooked to perfection with a delicious char grilled flavour. The sweet potato chips were also yummy as usual. Seasonal vegetables were unimpressive but fresh and cooked well. I tried the American BBQ salad with beef in a tortilla bowl. I loved it! The beef was delicious - as was the salad itself and you can eat the bowl! Such a shame this restaurant is not better patronised. Staff are attentive and friendly and the food is good. The Kelmscott store is hidden away - even the sign is so faded I thought it might have closed down. Some special meals or cheap nights and signage on Albany highway might boost business. Would be a shame to lose this restaurant - so locals do yourself a favour and drop in.

Tonight we received outstanding service from Alisa and Brodie! I appreciate that so much! My meal was nice, I ordered something different just for a change. To be honest though you can't go past Hogs steaks. As usual the bar and atmosphere were really great! I love the music Hogs play.

It is okay. Relaxed ambience. The bad: I asked for a medium rare fillet and got a well done one (which even had a cut in the middle like those you'd do to check the doneness of the meat... a crime wasted since they didn't even get it right). The salad my companion had was basically drenched in way too much sauce. They could turn up (or on?) the ac, it was a bit too warm, although still better than outside. The good: despite the above shortcomings, the meals were tasty... yummy meat with a bbq taste you can't help but love, cute tasty curly fries, funky décor, friendly staff and colouring sheets for the kids (and brave grown ups). The salt shakers are fun and the portion sizes are good. Overall: it won't blow your mind, but it is a nice meal for an okay price. Plus you can go across the road to Baskin Robbins for dessert!

Amazing place and service. The staff are wonderful. I took my brother here for his birthday (hes special needs) and they were very kind to us. They brang him out free dessert and sang Happy Birthday to him which means a lot to us, as we are from a small family. Also all of the food was delicious. Thank you!!

I am a big lover of hogs breathe BUT they have dropped the ball on their ribs which is my go-to. They use to be so amazing now they're pretty average. Also we had a very rude woman "welcome us" into the door. Snapping her fingers at us to sign in the covid app which was unnecessary. Then proceeded to place us right next to a family enjoying their dinner when we had 4 young kids with us and asked if we can sit at any other of the empty tables because we didn't want to disturb them which she refused.

We were a party of 6 and arrived early evening so no problem with seating The 3 course special was good value. My chicken was a tad overcooked but not enough to complain about this time. The only thing I have against this venue is the lighting. The light high above caused a shadow of my head directly onto the menu I was reading and later it completely covered my plate. My guests on the other side of the table did not have this problem but agreed it was not good. Will I go back? Yes but I will choose where I sit.

Great service. Went here Wednesday night 5 June for a family member's birthday. Staff are very friendly. So great to see employees who actually smile at their customers. For the service alone I'm giving them 5 stars. Food was also quite nice with a good range of options. Would like to see a couple more vegetarian dishes, but given they are a steakhouse I'm grateful that they still cater to vegetarians. Will be back.

Birthday person get free mudcake with ice cream on top, and it's 8 out of 10. Waitress are friendly. Barra prawn is 7, Chicken parmi is 8 but the place has a bit of a funny odour. Maybe needs moping and thorough cleaning and some air freshener. Homey atmosphere. I go there coz hubby likes the steak. He gave the steak 9 out of 10.

Nice steak house if you're wanting a quick, casual and not too expensive dinner out. Their steaks are delicious, but serving sizes are huge. I'd imagine they'd have a huge amount of food waste, which means I only go here every now and then. Customer service is pleasant 98% of the time. Atmosphere is nice enough. 7/10

We walked in without a booking and it was no hassle.The service was amazing and the food was delicious. I have a broken foot at the moment and the lady who seated us immediately asked if I would like another chair to rest my leg on to which I was very grateful. We used to go there all the time for date night 😊 never had any issues always love the place however the last time we took my father in-law there for his birthday, and it wasn't great. Staff seemed stretch thin and hence service was slow. Someone on the table behind us (presumably a manager ) was telling them off Infront of us within earshot which I found uncomfortable. found our server cleaning the bathrooms which is probably why we had to wait, so we ended up leaving instead of having desert. When they served us though they were very polite and helpful. Not a big fan of the new menu where you have to choose between salads and fries. Steak was cooked well 👍 sadly the quality on the ribs seems to have gone down. 😥 Overall may meet to find a new spot for date night 😢

Hogsbreath in Kelmscott has become a reliable, consistent, and enjoyable place for meals for myself and a particular friend of mine. Over the years the consistency has grown to become expected and welcomed with each visit. I don't believe you can place this sort of restaurant in the category of fine dining but because of it's consistency, reliability, and service I think the current rating of 3.5 can easily be increased to 4.0. The prime rib is always prepared as you request and more reliably tender than steak served at most other more prestigeous restaurants who boast about their expertise at serving great steaks. Each time we have a meal here you can count on the notion that the food will be hot, will be delivered to the table in a very reasonable amount of time, and the amount of food will be very satisfying. By the time you exit the restaurant you will feel quite content that you have been treated well, fed well, and appreciated for having visited and enjoyed a meal there.

Food is mostly nice, but quite expensive given the portions. The 'ambient' music is annoyingly loud, so much we had to ask to be seated somewhere else. I'd been told the curley fries were quite good, but they were kind of soggy and depressing. Overall not a terrible experience, but not a good one either. Unlikely we'll ever come back.

I reluctantly mentioned it and it turned out the cooking settings weren't changed from the previous order. I read a lot of reviews before going there today, and wasn't expecting much in service or food quality. The Restaurant was quiet for Sunday lunch. We were quickly seated and served, the staff that dealt with us were friendly and professional. I had crumbed prawns for entree which were mostly crumb, but cooked well and tasty. The Rib Eye was well cooked to order and tender, the baked potato was nice with sour cream, the Caesar Salad looked a bit sad but was ok. Ice Cream and Pavlova finished the meal nicely. Prices were ok and the Meal was fine and good value for a Steakhouse/Cafe, nothing to complain about really. I'd go back.

Staff are polite extreamely helpul and make the while experience lovely. The signature curly chips have an excellent flavour, crunch and consistency. The salad was beautifully presented although the red cabbage was impossible to eat and almost like plastc, It was as tough. Perhaps shave it much thinner. We were served huge cunks and slices of raw red cabbage in the salad. The Garlic bread was really beautiful, we loved it. Now the gorgeous steak! Although very tender with a lovely grilled flavour the Steak has been consistantly fatty throughout making it unpleasant to eat in places the steak is always wonderfully tasty and very tender, however the fatty sinue through the steak is like a thick sticky glue exaxtely like rubbery snot. The thought of being served steak like it again is off putting which is why we stopped visiting.

They ran out of vanilla ice cream which they had to go to the shops to buy and prepare the dessert. The waitress who initally took our order didnt bother to inform us about the delay in our order. Most of the time Hogs Breath is fantastic. Out of 10 visits, I'd say 1 was bad. Their steak is fantastic and their chicken is even better. They only do free kids meals Monday-Thursday now however they can do a discount for those with an RAC card on any adult meals all the time.

Given that there isn't much else around as far as restaurants go, Hog's Breath is okay. Food is okay but not amazing, and it's very expensive for the quality. You'd be better off opting for the steak over the ribs which always feel like a quick reheat job.

After finding out all Hogs Breath franchise's have updated their menu to only include 1 side with a steak and raise the price on most meals was a bit disappointing, the steaks / food are still fantastic and the service and atmosphere is great, but using the reason of sharing meals as the change for the menu was not good.

Given that there isn't much else around as far as restaurants go, Hog's Breath is okay. Food is okay but not amazing, and it's very expensive for the quality. You'd be better off opting for the steak over the ribs which always feel like a quick reheat job.
