Comments of Long Chim Perth

Great discovery hidden under the now revamped Treasury Building on Barrack & St Georges Tce. Known as a Thai Restaurant it has a marvellous multi splendid menu with very interesting Cocktails. The Staff are a mixture of friendly to vibrant spontaneity who are willing to guide you in your choices of yummy dishes. We celebrated our daughter's Valentine Day birthday there recently; it's roomy dotted by basement pillars, with a big outdoors venue, a great discovery 😀

I doubt you would ever see a bad review about Long Chim. I only had one course, duck fried rice, and a glass of wine, but it was really good. I sat at the high table overlooking the kitchen. Service is fast and spot on. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Great venue. Next time I'll sit outside just for the experience but it was a warm night when I was there and I was over the heat! The courses I think are designed to share but as I was on my own, that wasn't an option. Next time I'll take the family!

Where to begin with this one.... ok, so book your table in advance, now in fact. They're busy, very busy, and if you get to eat there, you'll see why. We got lucky and added ourselves to a standby list, wandered past and they squeezed us in. The service was fantastic, everyone was very knowledgeable about the food and wine. The location was great, very centrally located near other restaurants and bars. The food was crazy good. Like really. If you have eaten at chin chin in Melbourne or Noi in Adelaide it's similar fare. We had fish cakes and chicken satay as starters, followed by deep fried fish, red curry chicken and shared some stir fryed water cress. Everything was amazing. Portions sizes are for sharing, so we had food left over. Ideal if 4 of you go, cos then you try even more dishes. We stuck around in the courtyard for a couple of drinks after. We were too full to eat desserts, but there is always next time. Did i mention, go book it now?

Great Thai place that is better than the sum of its parts. Food is totally worth the calories and decently priced. The service is very friendly and the decor is great. You have different sections and an area that makes you fill like being outside while being inside. A great place to visit and have a great meal

Felt I had to write a review. Ate there last night Tuesday 11/Jan/2022, tasting menu for 79$, 4 starters, 4 mains, one desert. Every dish was the best version of that dish I have ever eaten, truly unbelievable quality food. Well worth the money and we left absolutely stuffed to the brim (had to take half of the last two meals as take out and ate them for breakfast). Only exception for taste, surprisingly the dessert, which was tea ice cream which I wasn't a fan of , but I was so full by then that I was happy enough to leave it be. Service was excellent

We arrived for dinner at 5:40 so we were informed about the happy hour drinks special which finished at 6 every night. Taking advantage of this to try some amazing cocktails. The tropical thunder really is fantastic!!
The waitress was exceptional, very helpful when we couldn’t decide between a few things to try, and she did warn us about just how spicy one of our choices would be.... my friend said he was game.... it was very funny to watch him then eat the green chicken curry, which he said he enjoyed very much.
We had the satay, and I must say, yes they are small but they are only $8 and extremely tasty!
The fried rice with duck was also amazing! I can see this place quickly becoming a favourite for me.
I am looking forward to returning and trying more things.... maybe also leaving room for the dessert!!! Hmmm.....

Funky place and great setting with very loud music, great atmosphere.
Food is good but not amazing overpriced and extremely small potion. Menu doesn't tell you how spicy the dished are and no flexibility when asked to make one dish less spicy. Service is not that good, our waiter got quite impatient when I asked a few questions. We booked the 6pm seating and was moved to the bar area for desert for people coming in for 8pm even they brought the food slow...
j. R.
The food is very nice, a bit expensive for what it is .Staff are very friendly. I felt quite rushed at this venue, there was a rush at the bar to get us to our table once at the table it was a rush to take our order and bring out our food then there was a rush for us to vacate our table. Worth a visit just for Happy Hour

First things first… BOOK
We visited for dinner on a Saturday night with a table of 6. The staff we had looking after us were incredibly polite and in particular Pamela. What a gem for the extra lengths she was going for our table.
We ordered a large amount of food which all came out faster than we thought. That goes for entrees and not long after mains!
I think you pay what you get for. While the portions are not massive you’re definitely paying for more than just the food and I think to anyone who complains about the price should just go to their local Thai shop instead.
I think it’s a beautiful place and I hope that the rest of the staff that we didn’t get to interact with are at least half as awesome as Pamela! She made the night enjoyable for our table!
A.
Really nice friendly staff. Absolutely loved the roast duck, the Pad Thai wasn’t the best but it was still good.
The pandan pudding is definitely a must try!
Overall it is a nice ‘treat yourself’ meal - and the atmosphere inside is nice and cosy.
M. S. (.
Not impressed at all. It was very loud in the restaurant which made hearing the waitresses hard. The food that came out was very small and below an average thai restaurant quality. Although the venue was modern and nice, the price you pay, it isn't worth it.
M.
Amazing dinner, good service and delicious cocktails.
My wife and I came here for our anniversary dinner. It was a great meal full of flavour and very enjoyable.
It was busy and staff were very courteous.
C. R.
They don’t have the crunchy prawns anymore, which disappointing.
They’ve changed their menu which was fine but their quality wasn’t as good as they used too.
For some people, their size portions probably not worth for what you’ve paid for. It’s pretty small.
This restaurant it’s more for special occasion rather than casual one unless you’re coming in with a big group then sharing it’s better.
R. B.
Long Chim Tuck shop is an absolute favourite for a quick lunch in the city. Quick service even though they're always busy. Excellent quality food and good options for a bit of added spice too!
S. d. M.
We were treated to a meal here by a good friend of ours, and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised.
First things first, there are cheaper Thai restaurants in Perth than Long Chim, but if the price is not an issue for you then this is definitely an option for a good night out.
We had a bunch of dishes here including the salted fish fried rice, deep fried fish, Pad See Ew and the Gaeng Som (and probably others). The fried rice was very good, and the wok-hei flavour was extremely present in the Pa See Ew. The only dish which was a little different was the Gaeng Som, but it definitely was not bad. Didn't manage to get any pics because the food was devoured pretty quickly!
Finished the meal off with a banana roti that was crispy and sweet, pretty much how it is when you buy it on the streets of Bangkok. Managed to get a picture of that, thankfully!
W. L.
Pretty average for the price - Lamb ribs were rubbery and chewy so didnt eat (yes I mentioned it to the waitress) - Lobster?/or were they MORTON Bay bugs lacked flavour - prawns, squid, fish were nice and tastey.
Overall pretty average in my opinion (second time same result)
R. A.
Never fail for a late dinner. All the staff are very attentive and friendly. The foods are great. We had the lamb ribs, crunchy prawn and papaya salad.
P. F.
Very popular Thai restaurant in Perth city. Without booking, if you are lucky enough you will get a seat in the open terrace, which is quite nice. Dishes here are among the best outside Thailand. Authentic, spicy and rich flavoured. Cocktail is good, too. Service is attentive and friendly. Price is pretty high though, but still very satisfied.

Visited on a Saturday evening without a booking and got a table near the reception/bar area, the place was packed but all the staff were awesome - in particular the two front of house staff! They were rushed off their feet but were still super cheerful and friendly and all around memorable as delivering some of the best service I've ever seen.
We tried the Maa Long Chim $65 tasting menu, and it was 100% worth it! Each dish is delicious, and you definitely won't leave hungry - we ended up with leftovers and the staff were kind enough to pack it up into takeaway boxes with a cute takeaway bag, and even packed us a fresh box of rice to go with it!
I was skeptical about the stirfried watercress and almost didn't get the tasting menu because it sounded like a boring option to include, but it was surprisingly delicious! Super crispy and a very delicious sauce, like a good Chinese stirfry.
As for the other dishes;
The cumin beef skewers had a tasty flavour and was mostly quite tender, but a few of the pieces were unchewably tough.
The spicy pork with rice cakes (apparently the spiciest item on the menu) was full of flavour and went perfectly with the lettuce cups, but was borderline too spicy and the spice overpowered the flavour.
The crunchy prawns were so good! Just a big bowl of little prawns deep fried whole, and quite a bit of deep fried shell bits without prawns. Great to snack on while you wait for the other dishes to come out.
Pineapple pork curry was super tasty, would definitely recommend. It was similar to the pineapple curry at Apple Daily, and is another dish I was skeptical about but turned out to be delicious.
Deep fried fish was one of the highlights of the dinner, perfectly crispy and tender fish with a very delicious sweet and tangy and savoury sauce that goes amazingly with rice. It's a shame that this dish came with probably the smallest serving size of the tasting menu, you only get 3 chunks of that perfectly cooked fish.
Grilled lamb ribs were tender and fatty and very good, but not amazing. They tasted like they had been stewed, not grilled, and the sauce was definitely good but lacked a wow factor so I would skip this if I were ordering a la carte.
All the entrees and some of the mains came with a large amount of raw red onion on top, which was a bit strange but good.
Coconut cake for dessert came in 2 very small pieces, but at this point we were already way too full. The coconut cake tasted absolutely delicious, but I wasn't a fan of the long strands of coconut running through the soft and squishy coconut cake. The texture was just a bit of a weird combination, like the stringy bit of a green bean that someone forgot to remove.
Overall, super tasty dishes and amazing staff, Long Chim is a must visit!
P. L.
Our new favourite Thai place! We decided at short notice to try this place before a show. No booking on a Saturday night, but we were in luck. Space at the bar, was busy but calm. Staff were friendly and helpful with food choices.
We tried the spicy pork with lettuce cups, papaya salad & Chinese broccoli with crispy pork. Advice from waitress was the first two were a bit hot. They lived up to that, but we only noticed towards the end of the meal.
Balanced flavours, and freshly prepared!
Banana roti for dessert, bit pricey, but tasty!
J. M.
Yeah boi. Went hard. The duck and the lamb were 👌👌👌. All dishes were delicious. Duck was as good as I've ever had. Service was excellent too. Great vibe.
M. t. B.
While we had a good night, I found the cuisine to be underwhelming. Thai food is generally bursting with flavour and the flavours are well balanced. Our experience was leaning more towards heavy, greasy, salty. This to me reflected more of a western style rather than a traditional Thai style. Cocktails were also lacking in overall wow factor, potentially the bartender was in experienced. You can make something pretty, though it doesn't change the flavour.
D. D.
Very tasty and authentic Thai!!! Service was A Grade!!.
D. M.
The venue is awesome - amazing set up between awesome lighting and cool furniture with a mix of in and outdoor dining. Our waiter was super friendly and was very helpful with the menu. The food, despite arriving fast and beautifully presented was a little underwhelming. The roast duck was bland and the soft shell crab sauce... hmmm. The lamb ribs were definitely the stand out and I’d probably just order that and rice next time. Prices aren’t cheap and three shared mains and a bottle of wine cost $197.
C. D.
Came here with my partner for dinner for the first time. First thing to notice is how close the tables are to one another - could barely hear my partner talk as it is very loud and felt like I was less than 30cm away from the table next to us on either side. Ordered the crunchy prawns and duck larb for starters. The crunchy prawns were ok but had little taste with no meat inside. The duck was delicious but would’ve been great if it actually had more meat in it. We got the pad thai and soft shell crab for mains. Although they were tasty, the price does not justify the portions. You could not come here and just order a main and be full. It’s a nice spot but most likely would not come again. Shoutout to the staff though as they were actually very friendly and welcoming.
R. M.
I love this place! The food is excellent and the service is too. If you like spicy food, try the chicken larb, it's the hottest dish on the menu and the servers will warn you of that, but it has so much flavour. Fish cakes are rustic looking and piled into a bowl with herbs piled on top.
J. F.
Fantastic service, staff were very friendly and helpful. Very good cocktails could maybe do with a couple more tap beers. Food was very delicious, authentic and flavoursome. Have been before and will definitely be going back. Great place for a few friends. Keep it up.
F. C.
As soon as you walk through the restaurant you are transported to Thailand. Aromas that are evocative of the bustling streets of Bangkok, or the idyllic islands in the south.
The food did not disappoint. We had pork skewers and spring rolls for starters. Followed by an excellent duck fried rice and an equally good beef mussaman.
Complemented by a couple of Singha beers it was an excellent evening.
D. T.
"this is the most authentically Thai food I've had since I've been in Perth" speaks for itself. This coming from my Thai partner. Definitely will be here again!

We had our engagement party at Long Chim on a Saturday night in April. It was fantastic! We hired part of the courtyard and everything was flawless - from food and wine, to professional and friendly service and general great ambience. Many guests commented how impressed they were with staff and the venue! The State Buildings team were also wonderful to work with in the months prior to plan our event. A huge thanks to the Long Chim team for making our engagement party such a special occasion! Highly recommend for functions or just drinks in general.
N. N.
Interesting decoration - street arts style.
Modern Thai-twisted foods. Unique taste for some of the dishes but it’s not bad.
Price is a bit hard to swallow if you came from Asia.
They have bar section separately too.
P. K.
Amazing Thai food with flavours that are out of this world! We had the Lunch Maa Long Chim for $45pp. It included Dried Prawns with ginger toasted coconut wrapped in betel leaf. Chicken Satay. Sour Orange curry of fish. Stir-fry Chinese broccoli and pork. Yam Pak Salad. And Thai coffee ice-cream.
We also ordered an extra dish of crunchy prawns. All of the dishes were faultless. A truely Devine dining experience.
G. P.
Food is ok but price is quite expensive compare to quantity of food for main course. Rushing customer to leave the table after finishing the desert is pretty rude. Ive been to too many better Thai restaurants and food is much better and cheaper.
D. I.
Busy venue, slow to service but the food is great. Unfortunately due to COVID the menu is reduced but still a great range. Banana Roti is a must.
A. H.
Had a great time there, great food, great cocktails. Alicia was such a great server, knows her food and wine very well and gave us great service. Made our date night even better. Recommended great cocktails and desserts.
P. L.
Lost for words at this place. Have been here multiple times and am constantly blown away by everything. The food is nothing short of perfect with flavour profiles that will blow your mind. The staff are always friendly and helpful with Nick providing the most outstanding service I've ever received at a restaurant. Very knowledgeable regarding both the food and drink menus and offering suggestions which were always winners thanks for making our dinner experience so enjoyable!!
G. D.
Lovely service and great food. But be prepared because it is all spicy XD still loved everything and it looked so pretty
R. L.
Went to Long Chim last night, our waiter was Blossom. He was FABULOUS! Nothing was too much trouble. Great service, amazing food will definitely be back there soon!
M. X.
First visit to Long Chim
Good attentive service.
Had the Bangkok painkiller and tropic thunder. Great cocktails.
Had the Prawn and Fish Laksa. Beautiful. We were warned it was hot. But for people with a UK palate it's perfect.
A. H.
What can I say… if you haven’t been yet then you definitely need to try this place as you’re missing out! One of the best degustations I’ve had thus far accompanied with top notch service from the staff. Each dish from every course we had were so yum and both my friend and I left the place beyond satisfied. To say it has exceeded our expectations would be an understatement. Will definitely be back again :)
J.
Cracking basement location and buzzing environment is slightly let down by below par service and over priced meals. It appears authentic and the food is good .. but @ $42 a Main it needs to be better. It appears to be a trendy place to go in Perth so there might be a wait for tables. Good for first dates or a quick bite - but it is expensive and don’t expect to be blown away by the service
P. M.
Nice ambience. Good food. Hardly could talk in the bar due to loud music. But there are ample seatings outside.
N. F.
Nicely decorated venue which is deceivingly large. Tasty, fresh, zingy and spicy food - I really enjoyed it everytime I've been. Can be quite expensive. Also serves some nice cocktails.
m. c.
Massaman curry had a bit too much clove for my liking and the meat was dry and tough
The soft shell crab with noodle was very nice
The dried shrimp in beatel leaf was tasty
The curry just brought the meal down from their usually high standards
M. E.
Food is really tasty and the service is excellent. The Cumin Beef and the Duck Fried rice were standout dishes for me. Highly Recommend.
B. C.
Well that was different.Had the degustation menu, was very spicy and quite eclectic. Was an experience but probably wouldn't eat there again,a bit too much for us
R. C.
Very tasty! Personally like the papaya salad so much, simple but impressive! The atmosphere is good plus very friendly staff! Would definitely recommend to our friends!
R. T.
Love the look and feel of the place. Unexpected ambiance as you walk downstairs. Friendly staff and aromatic and tasty dishes. Extraordinary cocktails!
J. W.
Great service and delicious food.
T. E.
Enjoyed lunch at Long Chim. Started with the coconut mocktail which was small but delicious. Ordered the deep fried fish and Chinese broccoli with noodles as mains. Both were delicious and the portions so generous that we ended up taking some home (that was also done so we could fit in the ice cream). We had the tea ice cream and the coffee ice cream and both were tasty, particularly the coffee flavour. The ambiance is quiet and comfortable and feels completely separated from the busyness of the city just outside. Service was prompt and friendly. I would recommend.
J. E.
Good food and friendly service. We had the pad thai, chinese brocolli, red chicken curry and fried rice. All tasted pretty good and came out fairly quickly. I would definitely visit again, although it is a bit pricey for asian food.
J.
Food is good, but some his hot so if you don't like spicy, either don't come or tell them early. A la carte is quite pricey for Thai food, but the sets are reasonable, you won't be hungry after.
M. P.
A great place to get a chill, relaxed atmosphere with amazing food and drinks. I had authentic high quality Thai food and could happily sit and knit in the relaxed outdoor casual dining area. Green Thai was amazing, crispy prawn in betel leave was stunning and the service was brilliant. Recommend if in town
B. H.
We had an early dinner here with our two young kids. The two mains were absolutely delicious. We had the vegetable curry and the watercress. The entree was good but not as good as the mains, it was the dumplings. Staff was very friendly and the space itself was one of the coolest restaurants I’ve ever been to. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone that likes Thai food. It is a bit expensive, but completely worth it for us!
A. L.
Good foods! Staff is friendly. The food portion a bit small with the price that we paid.
T. J.
I'm not a fine diner but I love Long Chim. I always feel like it is great value! Their service is great as is the atmosphere. I'm glad they have brought the roast duck fried rice (as a special). Also really like the pad Thai!
A. D. O.
Glad to have given Long Chim a second chance - much better food and service! Now more deserving of its reputation as one of the top restaurants in Perth.
G. P.
Super venue with great service
Outstanding food & flavour
L. R.
The duck fried rice was tasty, in the same way that any fried rice is tasty, it was entirely uninspired. The pandan pudding was fine, in the same way that any flavoured creamy jelly is fine, it was topped with caramel coated nuts and shaved coconut. It is a nice venue and our cocktails were nice, so if you go in not expecting the same quality provided by some of the other restaurants in the State Buildings, you will have a good time. If you are going just for the food, you may as well go to any restaurant with a similar menu, of which there are plenty.
V. S.
The food was extremely disappointing though. Lacked flavours. $40 for snapper sour soup, with only a few pieces of snapper & hand full of herbs, flavours were not balanced. Chicken Satays were dry & also lacked flavouring. However great atmosphere and service. Quick & fast.
S. C.
A great experience. A bit disconcerting being seated so close to other patrons but once the delicious dishes goes on the table it just adds to the street food atmosphere style of dining
L. L.
Good food, but tables way too small and seating to close to other people. Hard to have a conversation due to loud music and acustic of basement on top people shouting to be able to have a conversation.
S. N. K.
Some of dishes were great
Liked Pins Noodle
Friendly Waitress helped us to choose top selling menu
Thai milk tea was not good
J. C.
celebrated our anniversary, it was okay in general but the food is like any other thai
T. M.
Our waitress was lovely and enthusiastic, but unfortunately the food was a little disappointing. My mother-in-law is Thai, so perhaps I have higher-than-average standards. One dish was spicy/hot, but everything else we had was ok. On the positive, we did discover a lovely local Riesling.
t. f.
The vibe and decor of Long Chim are cool without obviously trying to be and the staff and friendly and efficient. I would like them to leave slightly less time between checking in but they were very busy when we were there.
The food is excellent but be warned that nearly everything has some level of spice and heat, so be prepared. We started with the pork skewers and vegetarian spring rolls and had a chicken green curry with jasmine rice and the duck fried rice for main. We could have probably gone another main but didn't leave hungry. The food can't be faulted and I could eat the pork skewers for ever. The flavours were well balanced and the meat was lovely and tender. The husband's highlight was the green chicken curry and he's pretty much an expert at green curry so you'll have to give his recommendation extra weight.
The prices are slightly higher than we would spend on an average date night but if money is no object or its a special occassion it is well worth a visit.
D. J.
Fast service, atmosphere and staff are great and, and every dish is fantastic. We usually get the preset menu so we don't have to make hard choices.
Can't recommend this place enough.
S. A.
Very yummy Thaifood! We visited Long Chim for a family lunch. We had the most incredible experience. Food was exceptional. Standouts were the Duck Curry, Cured King Fish, Wagyu Beef and the Mango Sticky Rice dessert. Could not fault the service which was a real highlight. Not the first time we’ve been to Long Chim and certainly not the last time we’ll be back! Great job guys.
B. S.
Had a fantastic dinner here. Chicken wing entree were some of the best wings I've ever had.
Pad Thai and Charred noodles were excellent, full of flavour with good serving sizes.
Banana Roti was incredible, Pandang pudding was also great.
Staff were attentive and friendly.
R.
Fantastic food and service. Love the atmosphere to just chill. I ordered soup and was a bit spicy but overall had good experience.
N. S. B.
Grilled beef was amazing. Expected there to be a Pad Thai, but nowhere to be seen. All staff were excellent, very attentive to our table and quite friendly. If anything, I would come back just for the customer service! However, I believe the menu needs to be tweaked a little in order to make it more accessible for the general population
E. H.
Favourite place for Thai food in Perth. Love the food and the atmosphere is amazing.
M. M.
Friendly staffs,... bit forgetful lol
Beautifully cooked food and boy, the spicy pork is blardy hot.. warning alert
E. R.
Great food, good ambiance and the staffs were very friendly!
S. H.
Had (another) shared birthday lunch with a friend in my week of birthday celebrating. I was greeted on arrival by a lovely, bubbly and friendly staff member. The location is architecturally pleasing with a cool vibe and low key atmosphere, nice lighting and no over bearing music. The lady who greeted us bought complimentary champagne to acknowledge our birthdays. Huzzah!
The food selection and pricing is great and portions were fantastic. Every bite was an explosion of flavour and texture.
Highly recommend for a cool catch up or indulgent night out.
Next time I'm grabbing a cocktail to go with the crunchy prawns.
L. H.
Outstanding staff, simply the best. The waitress went above and beyond to assist our group, the dining experience was and always is very very good. If you’re looking for real Thai food and real Thai hospitality go to Long Chim Perth. I highly recommended this place.
C. S.
Fabulous Thai food experience from the minute you walk into Long Chim.
Great atmosphere, amazing food and very attentive service. Try the Crispy prawns for starters, you will be delighted.
Cocktail, craft beers snd extensive wine list. I can see now why you have to book well in advance. Make it a great night out and tuck into the great food and cocktails
T. F.
Best Thai food I’ve ever had. The staff were beyond friendly and had excellent customer service. This restaurant really goes above and beyond. I have the siamese watercress and I didn’t expect much, but when I took the first bite I was shocked at how flavourful the meal was. 10/10 for both the staff and the food. Definitely a must visit if you’re here in the CBD.
M. L.
The cocktails at long chim were amazing! Went for pre dinner drinks and ended up staying for 3 rounds. The Le highball Royale was delish and elegant. Loved the service and atmosphere. Great vibrant place. Will definitely be back to have drinks and dinner.
W. L.
food was delicious and the setting is very interesting, but i wouldn't recommend this place unless you wanted to spend some serious $$!
C. G.
Great authentic Thai food in Perth. Beautiful decor, ambiance and great terrasse. Service was attentive and warm.
A. M. (.
Came here for a Work End of Year dinner and thoroughly enjoyed myself! Not only was the food amazing, but the drink choices (as a non-drinker) was just as great. The food took a little while to come out, but it was jam-packed. Once the food was out, it was like a feast. Amazing food and well worth the visit!
K. N.
Fresh spring rolls! Crispy prawn salad was beautiful and fresh with the mint an coriander. We had the roast duck and the deep fried fish as mains(keep in mind one of those mains could feed two people). It was all soo delicious! We will be back!
The staff were so lovely and welcoming too!
G. B.
We had a delicious dinner here on Friday to celebrate our engagement. We arrived early and had a cocktail at the bar. The waitstaff were lovely and attentive, in particular our table waiter, Alesha. Also, having a dairy free diet, we were able to eat most dishes on the menu (including some desserts!).
S. K.
We were at Long Chim on wednesday night with Nancy! The staff was so cooperative especially our wait staff Mandy. She was super amazing. Food was so delicious and the ambience is so cool. ! V were in a group to celebrate our semester end and had a funfilled night! Definetly coming back 👏🏼👏🏼

Went for dinner with family, four adults. Nice uncrowded seating, lighting a tad dim but tables adequately lit. Front of house staff pleasant and helpful, all drinks and meals/entrees ordered promptly. Of the 4 entrees, 2 came out in good time, however the other 2 were nowhere to be seen. It took several requests to finally see them arrive however far too long, they apologised and we werew comped for them which was nice. The wings were fresh and hot but somewhat lacking in flavour. I had the fried fish, which if I say was disappointing would be an understatement. The sauce and seasoning was fine but the fish was almost inedible. Dry, tough, chewy, consistency of fish jerky. I didnt bother finishing it, it was tiring. I'm not sure if that was the effect they were trying to achieve or did they just get it wrong. I didn't bother mentioning it as I had already complained about the entree and didn't want to appear to over winge. The rest of the party had a mixed bag of results as well. So three stars because of the front of house staff, they were great.
M. M.
Great host for the ELiP event for the Perth Childrens Hospital. The food was nice, great chicken kebabs and spring rolls aswell as chilli cashews
E. F.
Great food great service. Would come back again definitely
J. p.
Long Chim in such a classy location, is the coolest Thai restaurant around. Full bodied authentic flavour, as much chilli as you need or not if you don't and a great drinks menu including tasty cocktails. The menu is uncluttered yet offers excellent choice. Love the staff who gave full attention to cuisine and advice rather than pretention yet maintained an air of sophistication and quality. Challenge you to get through a bowl of chicken larb - one for those with a taste for sizzling hot spicy adventure. I'll be back! Thanks to JJ for the special attention and knock out desert. A master of the cuisine and yes, actually from Thailand.

Awesome restaurant
They stuffed up my booking but quickly found us another table, we're super fast and apologetic.
Food was spectacular
I loved the crispy prawns starter and had a wicked ginger cocktail. The servings were ample and rice was replenished quickly... 6 people starters mains and some deserts, 4 cocktails 340.00 ... not too bad at all
Edit :
Been back recently
Even better ! Service was spectacular and food still great ! ****** 6 stars

Food is nice, lovely ambience, staffs are also helpful.

Dined at Long Chim on a recent visit Perth, which had been a long time coming. We opted for the Tasting menu and wow were we just blown away. It was absolutely fantastic would highly recommend this and looking so much forward to our next visit. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable regarding the menu.

This was the second time coming back to Long Chim. The first time we came for a cocktail and were so impressed we decided to come back for dinner. The food was nice. If you do not like spicy food or seafood there will be limited options. The staff were very friendly. You must try the coffee, chocolate and sticky rice flavoured cocktail!!

The moment you walk in the smells are amazing. Quality food and service, can wait for next time!

Beautifully designed space with a cool atmosphere ( which is refreshingly not hipster or otherwise generic). The duck we had was one of the best I have ever had. The chef is clearly well trained and has a firm understanding of flavours.
The service was friendly and the prices very reasonable.
Awesome. Thank you!

Long Chim is amazing. We went for a celebration dinner and were greeted with incredible service and great food. The Pad Thai is a must, and the soft shell crab was beautifully cooked and so tasty.
The atmosphere and fit out is incredible with great decor and an awesome vibe.
The wait staff were so friendly and helpful, we were definitely not forgotten during the night.
The food is pricey but worth it for a night to splash out and enjoy
B. G.
Excellent service and amazing food. Full of big Thai flavours. Really interesting takes on standard cocktails. We had the set menu and I couldn't have been happier with the chefs selections. 10/10 will be visiting Long Chim again in the near future.

We came for dinner on a Wednesday night. Lucky we booked, because they were full up! Attractive casual modern atmosphere, with a great view into the kitchen from the restaurant.
They were a bit slow in greeting us,, and then slow to give us menus. My wife and I ordered the set menu banquet. I also ordered the accompanying wines while my wife ordered a cocktail.
The food was all excellent, and served very promptly. Very well presented, extremely tasty and varied. We particularly liked the spicy port with rice cakes and the pork and pineapple curry. My wife loves her cocktails, which were well presented and very tasty.
However, the wait staff were very late in bringing drinks. My wine, meant to be paired with the food, came at the end of or half way through a course, and only after I reminded the staff. This happened for each course They were also very late to clear the table after our mains.
I know they were busy, and the staff members serving us were working hard, but if they are going to offer paired wines with food, then they should serve the beverages more promptly than the food. Apart from the minor service issues though, we were very impressed!

Went there as a group of six, sharing food to get a range of flavours. Straight of the bat, overall experience was good with some outstanding dishes sampled. Everyone agreed that the quality and standard of the food was meeting the somewhat high expectations. For me the Thai Green Curry was the favourite, different in a very good way as compared to other I have tried, and I have tried many. If all dishes were to this standard it would have been an easy 5 star review. The disappointment dish, for all at the table, was the roasted duck with rice. Flavours were there, especially with the sauce provided, however the question on everybody's lips was whether this was the rice dish? There was not a lot of duck to be found, maybe it swam off. Anyway, apart from that decor gives a street vendor feel with basic plates on the table, ones you would find at a student home. Doesn't distract from the experience, indeed it adds to it.
Good option was the 555 from the lunch menus, a choice of one of 5 dishes and 5 drinks for $25.

Came here last night (Friday night) with a group of 8 people. Ordered tons of entrees and dishes. They are all tasty but I think some of the dishes are too sweet. most dishes are a little spicy too but this is good! one of the girl staff was unfriendly, she might have had a hard day. She didn't serve with smile and was a bit rough. Taking the plates away in a rush as soon as she thinks that we had finished our entrees. This is disappointing as the service should be as good as the food. This isn't just a bias opinion from myself but my friends think the same. I won't probably come back.
B. T.
Excellent Thai food. Very original dishes. Expensive
M. D. P.
Food was nice but service was average!
Massaman curry, charred noodles and yam pak salad in the picture.
M. B.
6 of us had an excellent meal here last night. We ordered multiple dishes to share and all were excellent. My particular favourite was the green curry. The dishes we had all packed in the spice, so if you're not a fan of hot and spicy then you might want to ask for a milder version. Will definitely be going back!
E. D.
Amazing food! We ate 3 starters between 2 of us and it was more than enough for a light and spicy dinner. Spicy Pork with Rice Cakes (not just your basic rice cakes so don't worry - it's honestly soooo good!), Chicken Wings and the Green Papaya Salad - fabulous and will be back.
D. F.
Always a winner with long chim and the chef's tasting menu. Maybe the best Thai in Perth.
H. F.
Great place for a date night, even though the music get too loud sometimes. Love the mango sticky rice
O. S.
Vibey courtyard. Delish vego dishes. Funky natural wine 🤌🏼
V.
Really nice food but some really bizarre service. I think the wait staff are really under trained particularly for the price charged.
J. G.
Fantastic food and great service from helpful staff. Couldn’t fault a thing. Saying that, $10 for a bottle of still water, that we didn’t really want was a bit rich, I didn’t actually think restaurants still tried this on. If your going to charge for council juice at least have the decency to tell your guests beforehand. This is what lost you your tip. Other than that we will definitely return, just minus the water next time. 😉
R. S.
Went to this amazing restaurant last weekend and what a fantastic experience - from start to finish we were blown away. The mesmerising view of the beautiful courtyard as you first walk in and then the aromas hit you. This place is like an awakening of the senses, everywhere you look and smell is divine, The staff are super attentive and the food was top notch. We will definitely be back to soak up more of the vibrant atmosphere at Long Chim! Thanks guys
J. W.
Nice place for dates or get togetherness with friends when you want a nice venue. The food was great but not the best value (there are much better top end restaurant for what you spend per head). One thing I applaud is they are very gutsy with their use of spice in dishes. I love my spice and hot food, and they serve some dishes with a punch, really enjoyed it from that perspective.
R. I.
Omg ,if you’re craving for fusion Thai , this is the place .. 100% recommend ,you will not be disappointed. The service is outstanding. Delicious food ,cozy ambiance & super friendly staff and ofcoz the highlight is customer service 10 out of 10. I’m a little Fussy about customer service, but this is the place if you seeking for one . Recommend dish Lamb , fish ,green curry chicken , egg plan ,omg i think it’s almost everything... I will definitely come back here . They even gave us a cake wth a candle for my husband birthday.. awww so sweet of them ...
GOOD job guys .. we love your food & service .. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
B. C.
Great food. This is some of the best Thai food I've ever had. Great service . we we'll looked after really well and when I asked about the panels on the roof was advised that it was acoustic panelling which I suspected . This brings me to the next Point.... great atmosphere. The place was buzzing . You felt welcome as soon as you walked in. I'll definitely be back.

The wife had lunch earlier in the month and noted that the lunch special, $25 for a main course and a drink valid from Monday to Thursday, was starting soon.
We did not book by we usually lunch early and it was a Monday so there was plenty of room.
We would have liked to try to Boat Noodles but this was not available on the day so we picked the Thai Laksa and the Sour Orange Fish curry instead.
We are familiar with laksa lemak (made with coconut milk) and laksa assam (sour broth made with tamarind and fish) but the Thai version, with bean curd and young corn was a revelation. It was more akin to something we know as satay chelok (rice noodels and skewers of various things with a peanut based sauce).
But we loved it anyway as it was nicely spiced and very tasty. The rice noodles soaked up the sauce nicely and the dish provided a range of textures.
The fish curry, served with rice, was magnificent. A good portion of fish is a sour and spicy sauce flavoured with onions and tomatoes.
Plenty of bite without being ovewhelming.
We are quite used to spicy but realise that not everyone can handle the heat.
We had a WA red and white blend and it was a nice drop that went well with the food.
Service is excellent. Our waiter explained the differences among the various laksas available in Thailand (no two versions alike) depending on the region/province.
We usually take public transport into the city but you can usually find paid parking nearby.
Credit cards are accepted and there is disabled access.
R. B.
Great and tasty food. Really enjoyed it. Would be 5 stars if drinks were taken care of. Large delays between being offered
N. B.
Highbrow low-key - it's an expensive joint that tries to capture the vibe of Thai street food, but without any of the "street". It is easy to be cynical about repackaging cheap eats for the higher end of an affluent western market— however the food was great, and the service too. My only real negative comment was that I though the serving sizes were quite reserved for the price. Nonetheless, worth it for a nice meal in in one of the city's nicest budings.
J. L.
This restaurant is equally beautiful and delicious. Very friendly and helpful staff. Simple yet salivating menu; it is hard to make a choice as everything on there seems to die for. We had the red curry and were very happy with it. We went on a busy Thursday night without a booking (2ppl) and they were able to accommodate us. I highly recommend it and would go back anytime!
B. F.
To start we ordered some drinks- I had the ginger beer cocktail with vodka, nice and spicy. Has a real tang to it- was delicious. And for starters we ordered the beef skewers - you get 4 skewers with 2 sliced of meat about the size of a 50c piece probably ok for 2 ppl but not for the 4 of us. I quite liked the taste- the smokey flavour and cumin but others at our table said it was too dry. We also ordered the prawn cakes
L. C.
Gorgeous restaurant, we were excited when we sat down in the courtyard. Had read ahead on pricing, but weren't prepared for the lack of options/price points on wine. Settled on the cheapest white: a $70 bottle. 25 minutes later we chased up our drinks, only to be told they were out of that wine and the next available was $75. Clearly they'd forgotten to put the order through - no problems, mistakes happen, but own up and make amends. (Regrettably the more expensive French SB was bloody awful.) Mains then came out before starters, so we canceled the starter. Three times during our meal food runners approached us/nearby tables unsure where food was going, and generally the food/service was just ordinary. Grilled lamb ribs in particular were tough and not very flavoursome. Really disappointing for an expensive meal that was supposed to be a special treat.
M. A.
Great authentic Thai food served in a trendy locale with moody lighting and extremely friendly staff. Red duck curry was full of flavour and quite spicy, unfortunately they served it with mostly fatty pieces of duck. The bits that were more meaty were a bit overcooked and tough. But the sauce was amazing I kept pouring it over the rice.
L. G.
I would not say it was authentic Thai. Food was average.
B. S.
Went recently for a team dinner. Was expecting a bit more from the word around town but found some dishes a bit bland, which is surprising given the rave reviews I'd heard. Dishes could do with a bit more saucing and spicing. Wine list was great though. Might have just been an off night for the food. Will try again.
B.
Beautiful setting and great service however the food was average and over priced for what it was. We had the beef skewers for entree which were tough and the Fremantle octopus for a main which was extremely chewy. Much better places to eat in the CBD for the price.
S. J.
We had a fantastic meal at Long Chim. Enjoyed a small app, a fresh salad and two mains with rice between the two of us with a glass of wine each and shared an awesome dessert - mango with sticky rice for $150. Great value in my opinion and delicious food. Service was also on the mark. Loved the playful vibe and decor here. Will happily return.
M. D.
Highly recommend Long Chim. I have an onion allergy and have found it really difficult to eat out. The staff at Long Chim went above and beyond to accommodate me. They even had a menu prepared with what dishes I would be able to eat. The atmosphere was lovely and we had an amazing time. I think it’s one of the best places I’ve eaten in Perth!
B. M.
This restaurant is worth the visit! The staff are incredible and make the experience. Just speak to any bar staff about matching your drink choices wth your food. The food is so tasty and the mix of flavours is like
Nothing else! Staff will go above and beyond! Definitely be back!
K. K.
Food was ok. Yummy desserts. Good service. A bit pricey.
L. F.
AMAZING service from the hostess and all wait staff :) really enjoyed our Tuesday lunch!! Food was delicious- we will be back.
P. G.
What a fantastic meal we had. It was a birthday dinner and we ordered the set menu and we're not disappointed!! Everything we had was delicious and the service was absolutely perfect. We will be returning to try even more off the menu. The ambiance is also great and has a warm welcoming feel. One of Perth's best!!
C. O.
I'm an absolute lover for Thai food, ordered some of their recommended dish - spicy pork with ricecake, padthai and papaya salad.
Spicy pork was ok but only recommend if you have relatively good palate for spicy food. Pad Thai was amazing but the only downside is I reckon there's more eggs and tofu and the actual noodle itself! Papaya salad was beautifully made but not recommended if you don have strong teeth and it was cut in chunks ! Both of us went home and I ended up spending the whole night waking up drinking water!! Long Chim pls be mindful of your MSG usage! (I usually have ok tolerance for it)
But if you are up for a nice cosy romantic ambience this is the place! Otherwise there are better Thai food out there!
T. F.
Our group of 4 all really enjoyed our dinner at Long Chim. The service was probably some of the best we have had in Perth; polite, friendly, prompt, attentive. The food was very good, but not as good as i was expecting. My duck in the duck curry was a little tough, and with it still being on the bone, a little hard to eat. Apart from that, the dumpling and beef Laksa’s all had two thumbs up along with the broccoli and noodle salad. Pricing I think could be a couple of dollars cheaper, but the venue decor and location definitely subsidises the slightly (I emphasis the ‘slightly’) overpriced menu. We will definitely be back.
J.
I like this place food is good portion size is very small. I think I ate mostly plain rice with sauce lol! Potion size has dramatically decreased since 3 years ago with the palm sugar pudding. Do not get this one it's a total rip off its 3 times smaller than 3 years ago we have photos as proof. The duck was ordinary but larger than the other dishes since you get half a duck. The pork and fish curries were ok. I think fish was nicer. The special of the day of beef skewers was small you only get 2 but were tasty. It's nice but expensive for what you get. I think it's more tapas size than an Asian restaurant.
E. P. (. P.
Amazing premises with character and full of life. The service and wait staff were fantastic and the food was brilliant! Try the green curry, the papaya salad, the watercress or even the chilli chicken (it's not too spicy - just right). We were asked if we wanted still or sparkling water to start with - ordinary request - but the sparkling was on the house! The wait staff constantly refill and the only drinks we were charged for were the menu beverages. Very savvy move. It was no fuss, excellently prepared and served dishes of the highest standard. Highly recommended. (If you get lost enter via The Petition on the Barrack St side).
G. P.
Amazing service and great food. I am a huge fan of green curry, although it was great it just wasn't as good as some other places.
J. C.
Very tasty food. Very over priced. Authentic flavours, but dishes like fried rice & duck for $35 came with 3 small slivers of duck. And the "half portion" that the table next to us had and the "full order" we had, were the same size. Tasty, but would go elsewhere due to inflated prices.
j. d.
Awesome food with awesome service. The food was worth the price. Beautiful location and staff is very nice and friendly. Highly recommended.
D. B.
AMAZING - incredible atmosphere, food and service. Oh the drinks list is superb as well. We had the tasting Maa Long Chim between two of us and loved EVERY dish. Couldn't fault the staff which was a refreshing change to the usual dull and pathetic Perth waitering service. We will be returning frequently to this place.
W. W.
Booked a few weeks in advance for Long Chim and was really looking forward to the experience which to be honest, was good but not great. Food was as promised, very tasty but expensive for the portion size. Service was not to be faulted even though at times a touch slow but hey, they were really pumping! Be aware, this place is very busy, very noisy and tables ever so close to one another so if looking for a place to have a private chat and a bite without next door peering at what you are eating, dont go to Long Chim. Glad we went to try but for something even a bit better in really good Thai, much prefer Galungal in Mt Hawthorn, Six Senses in Subiaco or even a little place in Fremantle called the Loft.
C. C.
Amazing cocktail, fantastic staff, kitchen and bar perfect match. I'll come back
B. L.
Overall the experience was good.
Me and my partner went for lunch on ANZAC Day and had chosen the $45 set menu but wanted to change the pork curry option to chicken as my partner rarely eats pork. We asked the shaven headed french waiter who advised we couldn't do this as the menu is set and dishes laid out to compliment each other... So we asked for a few more minutes to decide on an alternative. We then decided on the $69 set menu but when ordering we asked the incredibly friendly waitress if it would be possible on the $45 set menu to change the pork dish for the chicken to which she replied that it wouldn't be a problem. So either the french fella was full of bull or you need to get your wait staff singing from the same bullsheet! haha
Anyway we decided on the $69 menu and it was pretty great. The only issue I had was with the duck curry... The meat was on the bone(which i hate, personal preference I understand) and what meat was there was tough and chewy. A curry should have meat falling off the bone... It wasn't! Other than that the food was incredible.
So for the dodgy service and tough meat I have knocked off a couple of stars but definitely a place to try and may go again.
Y. S.
I would rate this restaurant amongst the best in Perth. Fantastic food, great flavours and nice presentation accompanied by attentive, knowledgeable service.
A. R.
Best Thai food I've ever had :) The atmosphere was really nice too, I love how they've built it under ground. The wine is pretty over priced (but tasty) - they do have cocktails and other drinks.
K. H.
We always have a very positive experience at Long Chim. We had a lovely dinner there on Tuesday night. Good satay chicken, chive cakes, a huge tureen of hot and sour snapper soup, well prepared rice, etc. The service is friendly and helpful. I had crisp Castlenock Riesling and Yarra Valley Wooded Chardonnay. A really enjoyable evening.
S. H.
Quality of food (and service)can vary wildly, from very good to pretty dreadful: depends on the night, I guess. The only thing you can absolutely count on with regard to consistency is the elevated cost, which more reflects the price (rental) of the venue than quality of the experience.
Possibly worth the punt but proceed with caution: Anticipate a disappointing experience and you might be pleasantly surprised...
J. H.
The ambience is very good and the service excellent. It was very crowded. Having spent much of my life living in Thailand I have to say that some of the dishes are not quite authentic but still good eating.
Y. L.
Pricey but delicious . I love the Prine noodle
K. G.
Awesome service. Would recommend trying the cocktails, I had a Bangkok Hangover, coconut with spiced rum. Siamese watercress is delicous to have with any other main. The food was delicous and fast. Great date night location
D. b.
A very funky indoor/outdoor restaurant with a solid menu making it difficult to choose. The decor both inside and outside is really cool, sitting it what feels like a funky bar / courtyard which feels a little like you could be in Singapore. The Pad Thai and Satay Chicken was amazing. Especially the pad Thai.
O. P. P.
Great food and all the greatness of service, atmosphere and great details in menu and surrounds. Walked out very pleased with a bill of $400 for two were $160 of that was ordering cocktails for myself wish I could remember whivh was the best. But my review is a bit askew to what actually happen that night. Fulfilled the expectations
J. R.
Great food. Cocktails were delicious too
D. W.
I love a bit of spice and it doesn’t come in a better package than at Long Chim. Authentic South East Asian cuisine with fresh ingredients located in a central city location. The wine list is extensive and although it’s not cheap, if you are looking for the real thing, this is it.
P. W.
Fantastic staff, great food and beers
M.
Top notch Thai food in a modern atmosphere. Well considered wine list and cocktails, friendly service.
T. K.
Came here for a midweek dinner, foods were not the best around but pretty good. Service was slow, took long time just to make an order
I. K.
Upmarket Thai without any sacrifice of authenticity and hearty value. Especially loved the roast duck and tangy mackerel curry.
F. H. L.
Great, cool, and funky place to have drinks and delicious food. The service was good and the setting was hip, modern and classy with a nice underground/urban touch.
Great place for a date. Probably wouldn't take your first tinder date there.
C. A.
Amazing! We had the set dinner menu with a table of 4, the food was absolutely delicious, it was definitely a showcase of the menu. Service was attentive & polite even though it was busy. Highly recommended.
S. W.
The laksa was extremely oily. Flavours were too strong and not balanced enough. Not enough vegetables in the dishes for my liking. Great venue and atmosphere though.
S. P.
Food and atmosphere were great, cocktails could be improved though. Service was good too.
E. M.
ignorance on our part but i got the set for myself and noodle main for my companion. Little did I know that the default is if you get the
set that goes for both of you! As we started chompin on our set I realized it was a bit much for one person. I confirmed with the staff and they
said yes it was one order but he probably didnt understand what i was asking. he also got our main wrong. but even with the wrong order the food
was good. I went to a korean restaurant recently and I wanted to order more rice. the guy suggested we wait for all our food before ordering
additional rice and he was right. it would have been way too much.
I guess when 2 small Asian folks have already ordered an equivalent of 16 dishes it would be nice to clarify that another main might be a bit too much . anyway, the sauces were outstanding but they need more work on handling their meats. the squid, duck, and fish needed a bit more finesse. they were tough or dry
3 stars because the portions were generous and the food was generally great. service was disappointing.
T. C.
No wonder this is in the top 100 in Australia. Great food and drinks are sensational, the location is perfect within walking distance to train and some of the best bars around. Try the duck and also crab fried rice. Can not believe it’s been here 3 years and not been before, will be back.
J. E.
Very friendly staff and nice atmosphere. Tom Yam soup was exceptional for its spices and lemongrass. Meal sadly let down by a very over spiced Laksa which was IMOH far too overloaded with dry spices leaving no room for subtle flavours. Add soggy rice noodles and bland fish balls this was virtually inedible ( and I have eaten a lot of Laksa worldwide). SOm confused service as well, with no less than three different waiting staff. Probably overpriced, but you are paying for the stylish venue and high business rates I guess.
L. S.
Great food and great setting. Staff were awesome with us and our little boy.. totes recommend...
P. S.
The interior courtyard is an amazing space. Be warned though: the level of spice in the food, even the green curry, is well beyond what people would normally expect. Super tasty nonetheless!
M. H.
Exceptional food and great atmosphere.
Ideal for the casual romantic date or business lunch.
Highly recommend!
N. C.
Delicious food, very well priced.
J. T.
Long Chin Perth serves some pretty authentic Thai curry! Pretty hot and tasty! Loved their soft shell crab pad thai (didn't skimp on the crab!) And Rin's Thai Tea Ice Cream is an extremely unique flavour that I've not been able to try anywhere else!
P. G.
Great restaurant in a unique setting. Friendly and attentive staff. Food was superb ans full of flavour. Bar is well stocked with wines and craft beer. Good choice of cocktails too.
A. L.
Good foods but there are other Thai places that make better curries. Slow service. Expensive
S.
Seriously the absolute Best Thai in Australia.
The service is Exellent. My advice is ask the staff what they would recommend and then add a few of your favourites to the mix. Finger licking deliciously good.
P. B.
Went with friends at the weekend and it was the best Thai food I've had. Great venue, we ate outside in the courtyard, really relaxing, friendly staff. Will definitely be going again.
S.
Really nice thai food and great environment
A. S.
Had high expectations and unfortunately this place did not live up to the hype. Our meals were OK but did not have the wow factor which you would expect for the price. The only dish we really enjoyed was the charred noodles
T. N.
Having travelled quite a bit throughout south-east Asia, my wife and I were very happy to come across this gem of a restaurant which is serving up some delicious, authentic flavours. A great night was had by all!
B. B.
Loved it... but when the hostess tells you the chicken mince is hot... it is better to believe them. It reminded me of the 'veet for men' reviews. What started out as uncomfortably hot only grew rapidly like an out of control nuclear reactor. In desperation I tried to smother the heat with beer, only for the beer to turn to steam as it touched my tongue (like trying to piss on a bonfire). As for the day after... Let's just say I'm walking funny.
L. B.
Simply the best Thai food I've ever tasted. Great taste, portion size and wonderful ambience. I'm taking a friend along for lunch today and hope he enjoys it as much as I do.
A. S.
Incredible food and atmosphere - is located in the basement of the State Buildings. Is a great place for a date or for hanging out with friends. Really good food and drinks list and you can go as hot as you want!
R. R.
We had a fabulous evening. Three of us celebrate our Birthday together. Food was Authentic, and tasty . The environment very Boho, and reccomend you take a shawl as the Aircondition works really well . Thank you for a terrific evening.
g. t.
Lovely food. Not your typical Thai cuisine. Small range of dishes bit all excellent.
D. L.
I’ve only bought lunch from the tuck shop twice but the food had been AMAZING both times. The flavours in the rice, to the chicken to the cabbage are soooooo good and I can’t wait to go back. I’m glad I work just down the road now!!!
D. R.
Vibrant atmosphere. Loved the tiles and decor. Food was authentic thai ... wonderfully spicy! Dining here was an absolute experience and delight. Will definitely dine here again.
K.
Never dissapoints! Super tasty food, excellent service from Princess!! Love this place
M. L.
Delicious dinner and reasonably priced. Had the banquet, plenty of food and great variety. Kitchen was helpful in accommodating dietary requirements.
T. M.
Went there on New Year's Eve for lunch. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. Lovely food and service.
M. A.
Food and worket were good . It was Comfortable there.
S. T.
Celebrated a milestone with family at Long Chim and the staff were wonderful & very attentive. We really appreciated their sense of humour & along with the food and overall atmosphere it made for a very special day.
B. C.
Over priced for what was on offer, they have a limited menu at the moment due to covid-19 supply issues and it unfortunately didn't live up to the hype for me - I would however try again when they get the full menu back as a few things on that looked good
M. T.
Great food, drinks and service. Try the plentiful degustation that rounds off with the Pandan desert, simply yum.
G. T.
Food is good, the ingredients are fresh. It is a bit pricey but the staffs are very attentive and friendly. The atmosphere is a warm and comfy.
T. S.
Went for lunch. Yummy food and great service in cultural building. Very accommodating with prams and high chairs. I will be back with a bigger group to try more dishes on the menu.
A. J.
Great atmosphere. Good Food. Friendly staff. Wait for a table was a little bit, but food came out quickly, and overall meal was amazing.
T. T.
Lovely setting and atmosphere. Great staff. Enjoyed our duck dish with bottle of wine. Will definitely come back
L. L.
Some of the best Thai food I've had in Australia, but the prices are exorbitant. I can only imagine how ridiculous Thai people would find it. In saying that, I'll be back when I can afford it again!
S. K.
Love this place! Fantastic food.
m. p.
Please bring back roast duck, grill combo and prince noodles.
J. F.
Had lunch today cool location and funky atmosphere. Food was yumm the noodle dish we ordered although tasty very small serve considering it was $30.
H. F.
Outstanding food. Watch out for mango salad. Very spicy hot. Beat Pisco sours in town.
S. M.
Great Thai food and fantastic cocktails, highly recommend. The food is also a bit more unusual and interesting than your standard Thai place
B. H.
Amazing food and great service. If you like some spice and cool atmosphere it's worth a visit.
S. K.
Expensive and pretty good but there is better food to be had for cheaper. The Thai iced tea dessert was amazing however, worth going here just to try that.
L. B.
Very nice restaurant. The food was great with just the right amount of spice. Spicy food newbies might mind it very spicy however a moderately experienced spicy food eater will be fine.
P. K.
Outstanding venue. David Thompson is considered one of the world's foremost experts on Thai food and this casual modern Thai restaurant shows why. Authentic flavours and flawless technique.
N. J.
On the pricier end for sure. But every dish was perfect and the toasted Banana old fashioned is the best cocktail I have ever had.
C. D.

We ate at the bar side area it seems more fun. Food is perfect. Best thai we've ever had. Also the most expensive!

I don’t see what the hype is? Really mediocre Thai food. Dry boring over salty. Can’t get a reservation. Really? Guess it’s a groovy place to be.
