I have dined at Lupo Lab many times since they have opened, it's one of my favourite local restaurants. Whether I have had a quick coffee, lunch or dinner, I have always had fantastic service and food. The owner has always been lovely and friendly. Always greets me with a smile and genuinely looks happy to see his customers. I have brought my pram in a few times and also my very active toddler and they have always been very accommodating. Highly recommend their homemade pastas and I'm absolutely obsessed with their cured salmon for breakfast.

Lupo Lab is our go-to for breakfast, lunch and dinner! My Italian partner loves the authentic flavours, homemade pasta and dishes that remind him of home. Always delicious and the staff are friendly and passionate about their food and coffee! We feel good eating here, knowing their ingredients are locally sourced or direct from Italy. After one conversation with owner Mirko, you can clearly see his passion for Roman food, specialty coffee and the great community he has created at Lupo Lab.

I really enjoyed my experience at the Lupo Lab. From the service to the wine list to the service. I ordered the fettuccine with spicy crab which was exceptional! A simple dish but the flavours of the crab can through really well and complimented all the other ingredients. They have a great wine list on offer and one of the main reasons I will be back to taste my way through it. Staff was amazing and will be back.

I was born and grew up in Italy eating the most delicious food that you could ever try. I’ve been learning how to cook since I was a teenager and I am lucky enough to cook most of the recipes at home, as living in Australia made me missing that food. I’ve been living in Perth for over 5 years and despite many restaurants claims to serve real authentic Italian food, very few of them cook are saying the truth (indeed, most of them don’t even know how to cook a simple pasta tomato sauce!). It was a pleasure to discover that I have a beautiful Italian owned restaurant at 5 minutes from home. The food is absolutely delicious, freshly made and cooked at the perfection. I’m glad to see a restaurant that kept and its spreading the truely Italian culture without compromising it adding insulting ingredients that many others do. They keep the recipe simple and authentic, that is what Italian food is famous for. We’ve been looked after by Katie and Boi, which made the experience even nicer, as they were lovely and attentive. It was a pleasure eating authentic Italian food, grazie ragazzi, a presto 🤌🏻

Nice and friendly littl place, we arrived late and expected some sort of huff and puff for late orders, but they were genuinely nice! The service and vibe made the venue a really relaxed place and between the 7 of us had no complaints of the food.

Would give it 3.5 stars if could. Pretty stock standard warehouse interiors creating a pleasant atmosphere. Service from the older women grumpy and grumbly to say the least. On a first visit I always go for the scrambled eggs… if a cafe can do a good scrambled it’s a winner for me!! Went with the the Italian basil eggs (pictured)…generous serve, nice concept on a classic BUT overcooked, semi cold meh dish. Wouldn’t rush back in a hurry but on a side note, Delicious looking desserts on the counter.

Impressive service, very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The specials were all explained well and the list of starters were hard to choose from. The pasta is all handmade and they do a handmade gluten free fettuccine which was very impressive. All dishes were tasty and we will definitely be back!

Amazing food with fast food like service. The reason I call it fast food service is that you’re given 1.5 hours to get through starters, mains and a bottle of wine. By the time your done with your mains the waitress is hinting for you to leave and doesn’t even offer any dessert. When I mentioned this to the manager last night, he reckons we should have just asked for more time. But then thinking about it, the message that was sent doesn’t invite “time extensions”. Unsure if I’ll be returning to this restaurant due to the admin required to get a decent time slot to enjoy a meal. I understand restaurants trying to do 2 seatings per evening but with 3 you’re rushing your customers… 5 star for the food and service while we were there. Dropping 2 stars for the rushed service. So go here if you’re really hungry and a fast eater or call up in advance to get a time extension.

Love this restaurant, we had our book club Christmas dinner here on Friday evening, the atmosphere was bubbly, service excellent, attentive informative but not overbearing, food was delicious. We all shared the antipasti menu, followed by either pasta dishes or the gnocchi our wines were recommended by our waiter which complemented our food choices perfectly. Would definitely recommend this restaurant and we will be back for sure. This guys for a great evening.

The service was amazing, the gentleman that seated myself and my 2 year old was very nice, made sure we got a high chair, gave my daughter a kids menu and colours to keep her occupied. Lupo Lab is a nice addition to mount Hawthorne. I really like the styling and decor of the place, very modern, and the theme matches the name. My wife and I arrived without a booking, which didn’t go down too well with one of staff (shaking his head, as he sorted things near the coffee machine), I ignored this, and ultimately we were offered some table choices. Wait staff were great, though when things got busy, they were less frequent in checking-in on us. This was understandably, to a point. We started with toasted Focaccia with truffle butter! We could eat this for days, the bread was perfectly toasted! The mains were equally amazing. Wife had the Tagliata, the fillet was perfectly cooked and mix of flavors with the salad worked well together. Wife really enjoyed sweet of the tomatoes. I had the Fish of the day, which was Snapper with beetroot and tuna cakes. Wow, I really enjoyed this unusual combination, can’t fault it! On to dessert, we shared the buffalo ricotta pie, unfortunately this was the least favorite. The wife was thinking this would be a more tart, less sweet dish, but (IOO) it was overly sweet for our tastes. Would liked to have had more cherry/sour and less sweet elements on the dish. Coffee was good, tea (as with many places) could have been stronger. Presentation for all the dishes was fantastic! All in all we had a enjoyable experience, bar a couple of niggles, we will definitely be back for more...

Lupo Lab is an Italian restaurant based in the Mt Hawthorn. I dined there a few times with my friends and always had great memories of the flavour of their pasta! I was first introduced to Lupo Lab by Charlie when we went for a lunch date. This was before his trip to Italy, so he was super excited to try Lupo Lab's Tonnarello Cacio e Pepe (with melted pecorino cheese and pepper sauce) pasta. It was delish! I stole some bites off him. We had a cup of coffee on the side, but little did I know that I performed a faux pas! When I went with Daniele to Lupo Lab, the Italian dude told me that I can't have coffee with my meal. I can start with an aperitivo, but leave the coffee until after lunch. I remembered ordering a plate of Cacio e Pepe there. I know, it's a bit addictive. I convinced Shayan from the office to go for lunch to Lupo Lab one day. And I ordered the same thing, Cacio e Pepe. This was when I know I needed to try something else next time I went there. Then another lunch date was set up. This time it was with Siu Fan, and I found out about the magic of Lupo Lab's tiramisu on this day. It was really delicious! I took away two servings to bring back to the guys at work. They were impressed with it! For the last visit, I went to unfamiliar territory and ordered Calamari Ripieni. Calamari tubes are filled with diced calamari, tuna, olives, capers, mint, basils, and served with crunchy homemade fishcakes, and salad. If you love your seafood, try out this dish soon! Daniele ordered Tonnarello Amatriciana. The house-made long round pasta was served with wine-braised Guanciale slow-cooked with San Marzano DOP Sugo. And if you love your tomato, a must ordered dish for your side is Burrata served with tomato prepared three ways and pistachio pesto. It's a really refreshing dish, and perfect for the warm weather! Another BIG thing that Lupo Lab is doing is sourcing sustainable and ethical coffee beans. Mirko from Lupo Lab personally visited and purchased directly from farms in El Salvador, Colombia, and Brazil. With "Coffee Growing People" philosophy behind them, Lupo Lab wants to reinvest proceeds of their coffee to social programs. One of their significant achievements is to be able to provide free education, technology and a new school building to kids of the coffee bean farmers. Find out more about Coffee Growing People here. Everything about Lupo Lab is charming. From the moment the staff welcome you into the restaurant, when you sit at the comfortable space, where the fresh food gets delivered to you, and when you end with a cup of coffee with a fantastic story behind it. Absolutely outstanding restaurant. It's easy to see why they won a 'best Italian in Perth 2021' award! The service was fantastic, the layout was great (city views and glass windows looking into the kitchen) and it really shows that they make everything (bread, pasta etc.) by hand on site. Holy smokes! If you haven't been, book!! We were so lucky to get in on Tuesday night as they were fully booked (again, on Tuesday night, which is a total credit to them!) we walked in, were drinking wine within 5 minutes and eating not much after that. Based on a recommendation in Perth foodies, I tried out Lupolab. It's was a very nice looking breakfast without being spectacular in the mouth. I ordered Mushroom bruchetta with a smoked salmon side. As the photo shows, it looks very nice. However, it was missing the fetta cheese as had been on the menu and broadly speaking tasted bland. I was told that the salmon was smoked in house and it was Gin infused. Again, sounded good but but there was no taste of it. Overall, it was a nice experience and the coffee was superb. So perhaps I'd encourage you to experience yourself.

I went here for dinner with my family and we loved absolutely everything from the food to the atmosphere and customer service. Before leaving for Lupo Lab earlier tonight I had done a quick google search to find the location and read through some reviews (as I usually do before heading out to a new restaurant), after skimming through a couple of reviews I was very impressed to see how the team at lupo lab had responded to and handled customer queries, concerns and complaints. Throughout my dining experiences in Perth I have found that few restaurants take the time to thoroughly respond and resolve customer complaints, especially online. I was very impressed to see how well Lupo Lab handled the (note: very few) negative reviews and I believe it to be a testament to their great customer service.

Let me start by saying the service is AMAZING. The food is DELICIOUS. This restaurant has a modern feel and energetic vibe! It makes you want to sit and talk and drink for hours. I had the gnocchi it was soft and fluffy and just delicious. The staff went above and beyond, and took their time to really get to know us and make us feel WELCOME at their restaurant. The tiramisu I had for desert was generously portioned, but I feel for my personal taste, the biscuits were soaked a little too long and had a strong coffee taste. HOWEVER, this did not ruin the experience at all and I still walked away from dinner feeling satisfied and ready to come back! Give this place a go, it will not disappoint!

The desserts were Creme Broulee and Panacotta. We shared these and they were amazing and a good size for only $8 each. The place was packed and the only reason i gave 5 stars ( I wanted to give 5.2) was that I couldn't really sit back on my seat and savour the tastes as the person behind me was too close. Went here over the weekend for a meal. Great service by all staff. They were very efficient in bringing out the food, knowledgeable about their menu and fast in removing empty plates all whilst being unobtrusive. The food was very nice overall. The gnocchi were lovely and the sugo was tasty but I will say the tonnarelli were undercooked and borderline raw. We still ate it without complaint because it was tasty but a few minutes longer in the water would have helped it be truly al dente. We get it, it happens and I'm sure it was an accident because everything else was done to a high standard. The place was also spotlessly clean, it didn't have that sticky table feel and the water bottles didn't have that funky tasting water scenario that you find at other places. Recommended and will be back.

Stopped for a bit of lunch and left quite disappointed. It appeared one waitress was covering the whole area we were in, she was very pleasant but not able to give everyone the service they deserved. There was a girl (who we later found out was training) on the day who wandered around looking at the customers but when we asked for assistance she walked away and then returned to tell us someone would come soon - I didn't understand why she was wandering the restaurant if she couldn't assist. The chef grabbed a handful of spoons by the handle and then placed his other hand all over the tops of the spoons - not very hygienic at the best of times, let alone during a pandemic! My salad greens had not been washed well and were inedible, I dont send food back to the kitchen in fear of what will return. My husbands burger was huge, which on a value scale is great but it was very difficult to eat and had to be dissected first. Restaurant was busy so I am guessing our experience wasn't the norm. When we left I told the woman at the front about my salad and was told sorry - I didn't feel that was sufficient. A few dollars off (and I mean $3-$5) would have had me walk away a more appeased customer. I am unable to respond to the comment left by Lupo Lab but very much appreciate them taking the time and the offer of a coffee. Thank you

Firstly, absolutely beautiful interior at this place. Comfortable seating with a skyline view out the back window that hardly even seems possible. Friendly staff etc. The food is great. Honestly I'd kind of forgotten that places that taste this good were still around in Perth. You will pay an appropriate premium for this experience though, don't go in expecting a cheap bite. Portion sizes seemed in the goldilocks zone, though this is the kind of place where you may want to share an entree between two.

I am undecided. The venue is fabulous, love the all glass back wall that allows you to see the city and catch a glimpse of the sunset. Service was good, staff was very friendly and prompt. The food I felt was a let down, it was nice but it was nothing special. With such a small menu I expected the dishes to be outstanding and special. But it's the same as you could get at any Italian restaurant. All in all, it was a good night but it did not meet my pretty high expectations. I will be back though, as I have heard they do a fantastic breakfast and of course roast their own coffee.

Firstly I came for the coffee, it's amazing, and you can get it anyway you like it. I'm now a "pour over coffee" fan, and here I can 'drink in' or take a bag home to experiment (or practice) myself. It's nice to have found a place that is as passionate about coffee as I am, and eager to show me other ways to drink it! Now I have eaten about half the menu items too. Every meal sounds delicious and the half a dozen different lunches and brekkies I've had so far have been delicious. It's a varying and adventurous menu, but if I just want scrambled eggs (with chives and crispy shallots) and a side of chorizo , I can have it. I'm a now a big fan, and will be back for more.

This was my first time here and was disappointed. Food overall was nice. Service was very average. We had been sitting there for 25 mins before someone even took our order. Walked off before we could even order drinks so we didn't bother. The food came out in oddest order. Our starter was the last thing to come out. Ordered the pane (rustic Italian sourdough) gfo + dfo. They had forgotten it so when we got our mains I asked for it and they rushed it out. The gf option was literally 4 slices of gf toast that I assume was bought from woolies. Except wasnt toasted for long enough, the slices were warm and soggy. I feel like if you're going to advertise sourdough with a gf option then I want at least home made gluten free bread, not 4 pieces of soggy store brought toast. If you're going to give me toast then tell me that so i can decide whether i want to pay for it or not. The truffle butter i dont think was the dairy free option as I ended up on the toilet a few times after eating it. Not once did anyone ask us how our meal was so I couldn't give the feedback about the bread and it was hard to get a waiter's attention. I ordered the goat and was told the goat wasn't available so was given a bolognaise instead which didn't really compare. Great chips although if you're going to advertise the chips as df you probably shouldn't be serving it with aoli which isn't dairy free? I could take or leave this place.
