Could still order soft shell crab bun. They combined two restaurants into one. Lots of people when we got there. Two stories restaurant. Waitress were nice. We were sitting in the shed and it’s a bit noisy. Otherwise it’s all good.

Located in the alley way where Chinatown gate can be found. Had oil mix rice which comes with steamed chicken, char siu and pork belly over rice- pretty good but portion is small. Cantonese crispy noodle was alright as well. Lamb skewers was flavorful but salty and roti john was not a roti but more like sliders. And katsu chicken bao was average too. Service was good but won't be coming back for more.

Amazing! If you are Singaporean/Malaysian and missing the cuisine back home, please be sure to visit Old Lane! Very very friendly staff, went on a Sat evening so it was very busy but had my book to read so that worked. Ordered the Pilipino pork belly skewers and Sarawak laksa. Skewers were amazing and they come with the vinegary dipping sauce! Heavenly and authentic. Hoping for a bit more Assam flavour to the Sarawak laksa but guess this is the more coconut-based version. Still really good nonetheless and the sambal ... I was just eating that by itself at the end. And to cap it off, it was only $15 or $16 for the whole meal! Definitely recommended!

We were in Perth for 1 week and we had dinner here 3 times what speaks fot itself . I can really recommend the Chiang Mai Noodle Soup.

note about the great prices everyone else it talking about, the dishes are about 20% smaller so they are cheaper. I don't know why this place is rated 4.5 stars, it barely rates as average, the food is average, too much sauce in the noodles, bao is ok. Took us 35 mins to receive our main meal and an additional 15 mins to receive out entree this is unacceptable. The place is far to loud.

Hidden gem in Northbridge.
If you are looking for Malaysian Chinese comfort food, look no further. Old Lane is the place to be.
Duck curry was our star dish. It was thick and creamy, meat was cooked to perfection.
The other 2 dishes we ordered - kailan with roast pork and pork belly rice was equally as good.
Will definitely come back to try other dishes. Prices are decent.
The only downside is that their portions are a bit too small but you can always order more dishes !
Oh and they don't have dessert. Ice kacang or cendol for summer would be nice :)

With a reasonable price and great food that actually taste a little bit like malaysian hawker food, this place is the place to visit! The mee kolok was amazing, as well as the char kwey teow. I can’t believe I just found out about this place...

Great wok hei on CKT, light and crispy Lobak and friendly staff
B. S.
Awesome meal, Awesome staff, food was fresh. Will be going back to try more dishes.

Used to be a regular here, the food has gone down a bit over time. Hopefully they can pick their game up again & bring the crowd back.

Great presentation and food. Service was outstanding - some of the best I've experienced in recent times. Food was slow to come out, which is why I rated 4/5 and 5/5. Do keep in mind that it was a Friday night, straight after COVID restrictions had eased, and people were crawling all over the city.
已.
lovely asian cuisine prepared by them

We ordered dishes as we wanted them. Started with 2 entrees, satay and spring rolls-delicious Next Chiang Mai curry chicken noodle (most amazing flavours and best out of Chiang Mai!) a pork noodle dish, pork belly and greens and Lara lettuce cup. Plus corkage $57! The service was amazing, atmosphere great and the food incredible! So glad we found this gem.

Really good tasting down to earth foods with byo drink, in this small but cozy setting leaves you feeling like you are in a lane way of Asia, hanging out with locals. Very helpful, friendly staff. Enjoy the quaint experience. Whilst many people were ordering the beautifully served mee goring, I enjoyed a fresh tofu vegetable dish. Yum.

Great food at daily decent prices. You need to know that portion sizes will be a bit small for some.
Open late, which is always a bonus. Staff are friendly and helpful - but remember, this is not a fine dining establishment... service can be haphazard at their busiest times...
Food here is definitely more fun shared, so gather a few friends together - and order lots of food (around $20 to $30 per-head should do the trick)! No split billing though so be prepared...

This is my favourite cheap eats place to come on a night out or on a low-key date. The food is cheap, although portions are on the smaller side, so the best way is to order and share a number of different dishes for best value.
I used to really love the like seasonal brew/tea, which came either hot or cold. They used to make it but they don't have it anymore!!!! Please bring it back I love it so much and will drink 4 cups in one go!
Other standouts include pretty much any of the bao, and their nasi lemak is also deliciously simple.
On a busy night the service can be a little slow, and honestly it's a little sporadic at times how well they will serve you etc. But for a casual, cheap spot it's a really great option and I would definitely recommend it if you've got a bunch of rowdy mates with a low budget to feed before hitting Northbridge :)
S. D.
The food is so cheap, probably the cheapest for Malaysian rather than the over priced restaurant or cafe's representing the food. Feels the closest to the actual taste for the food in Malaysia and good portion. They do have credit card surcharge so perhaps bring cash along.

Decided to try Old Lane Street Eats after seeing photos of the food online and reading so many positive reviews.
I have nothing but praise for this little gem. Extremely friendly staff, fast service and the food IS the Goods! TASTY! If you're looking for a Street food feast, pay a visit to Old Lane. Thank you Old Lane Street Eats.

Just started to make this place a weekly visit. Absolutely amazing food. Big menu and the baos are too good. Staff are great and a cool dinky spot. Great price and BYO alcohol. Cant beat that for a fun date night.

Can not recommend this place enough. I held a 60 person event there on the weekend and the staff couldn’t have been friendlier and more accommodating to our needs. There were so many compliments on the food from guests and the atmosphere was great. It couldn’t have made for a better night. 5 stars!

Came here at 9:30 on a Friday night during Fringe. Tucked away and quiet, we were seen to and served quickly. The food is very affordable, and the servings are a good size to order just one, or two if you're very hungry! Cost just under $40 for two people. It's just behind Old Shanghai.

As a Chinese Malaysian from East Malaysia, I am delighted I have found a place that cooks dishes that very close to my country of birth. The Sarawak laksa is both authentic and very good. The kolo mee, although not strictly authentic, was possibly one of the best noodle dishes I've ever had. It is absurd that not more Malaysians / Chinese eat at this place. Also a tip for newbies --> most Malaysians eat curry /rendang on plate with fork / spoon combination, not chopsticks alone.

Tucked away little restaurant in Chinatown. Went here on Chinese New Year and there was a small wait. Staff were very helpful. Menu is not overwhelming but contains many classic favourites. Food was delicious. Best of all it was incredibly affordable! Recommended.

Have only been once but thoroughly enjoyed the food there. It was a Sat night but was not too busy which was a little strange. Food was quite tasty and we several dishes to share. Price came out to be arnd $35 a head but we ordered too much food. However we found the food to be really tasty. Overall i thimk we over ordered
F. B.
Interesting selection, good food. Very cheap prices, but portions are a bit small, I'd recommend ordering 1.5-2 dishes per head. If you want to try something different, this is the place.
S. F.
Great place to grab a bite with friends. Amazing service, the waiter went out of their way to give advice on what to eat with my allergy. Always very grateful for service like that!
C.
Good people and one hard working waitress
J. L.
Delicious, cheap meals full of flavour. The skewers have a lot of amazing smokiness to them, the saliva chicken has a pleasant spicy kick to it and the fried kway teow is also good!
T. F.
Great pricing, delicious food, friendly staff. Only downside was the long wait our group had between orders taken and plates coming out (one hour). Not sure what the long wait was for. Otherwise, we will return.
M. P.
I had laksa and my partner pad thai. Good good that doesn't cost the earth.
C. M.
Love this place, worth the drive from the hills to eat, never fails. Authentic dishes and cheap as well as a great casual atmosphere. Highly recommend👍👍
E. R.

Have been coming in here regularly. Perfect late night eats with great filling but not too much portions. Service is quick. Nothing to complain to be frank.
P. T.

Cheap, quick and tasty.
It might not look much but this place has kept me well fed on plenty of nights, can be hard to find for some but it's worth the journey into Chinatown.
