This is the first time that I've been to a Pepper Lunch in years and it was not what I was expecting. It was a bigger restaurant than others I've been to but, honestly, I'm not there for the ambiance. If I wanted to go to somewhere fancy, I'd go to Crown or something. All I really wanted was good meal. I ordered one of the steak dishes and it wasn't the freshest. The vegetables were a bit old (not much crunch), the beef was average, and I'm pretty sure the miso was not fresh because I saw them heating it in the microwave. The service was friendly enough. I needed to use the restroom as well and all I'll say is do it at home before you come here. Three stars. I expected so much more for a $30 meal.

Yummy food. I ordered Kimchi Pepper Beef with Cheese, and partner got his Combo Deluxe with Premium Steak and Salmon. Just do not order the seaweed shake salad, not worth it. Super small for $3.95. But order chips instead! So so worth it!

A great place for a delicious night out. Service is very fast and efficient. They have a variety of dishes guaranteed to satisfy all groups. The meats are high quality and the sides even more so. Definitely a great place for a semi do it yourself dinner. P.s. if you’re struggling to choose a dish, just go with the classic Pepper Beef.

Pepper Lunch is one of my favourite family restaurants. The best outlet is at Mt Lawley...however, that closed in late 2018 (probably due to the high rent in that area). This outlet is also good, but parking in Victoria Park can be a problem at times. I also feel that this store is not as well maintained compared to the store in Southlands Shopping Centre. The plus side for this store is that it’s quite large and can seat larger groups. The Pepper Lunch stores always offer free filtered cold and hot water, so that is nice. Besides their signature pepper beef rice, I also think that their chips are very good...just wished that they would offer tomato or siracha or Japanese mayo to go with it (the other stores offer these sauces for free)

If you are looking for a great sizzling meal then this is your place to be! It is really busy during peak times so drop by early if you want to be served bu their great team. Support local! They are the only ones who are open during lockdown pandemic and even during 2 straight public holidays! Now that is dedication… Hope you understand that this not a fastfood shop as it is made to order BUT the team is quick in making a yummy authentic Japanese sizzling meal. A VIC PARK favourite!

Prompt service. Reasonably clean. Can use entertainment voucher here. Chicken curry was tasty. Salad was fresh. Chicken and rice was generous size but chicken I believe was precooked and I didn't like the reheated taste. Sweet potato fries were moreish. Good Japanese beer. For 3 meals, 3 drinks and one side...less than $55!

Amazing speedy, team was two and so fast, polite, rich tasting food, organised, great vibe, good prices. I really liked it when others finished their night there and as they were leaving the lady that took our order takes a breath and farewells them with "thank you for coming in" and waves. I could hear the gratitude and we will definitely return. When we left even the chef out the back waved. Even the goodbye was welcoming.

Great choices available, the food is always served quick and it’s interactive element to is makes it unique enough to leave you wanting more. I have tried variety of their choices on menu and never leave unhappy. The idea is great and I suppose it sustains itself through the time pretty much and wont get old as others dont really offer the same however I think they could use a little bit better service. At times It seemed the place was understaffed.

I always love coming here. I feel like maybe people have the wrong idea as to what this place is: A fast food restaurant from Japan. In saying that, the food is always delicious, plus kinda fun that I can cook it how I want. The staff are always lovely and polite, I almost feel like I should tip them or something by just how courteous they are.

MY LORD THIS IS GOOD! Explanation: I tried to re create this at home. I can't do it. The food has a certain pizzaz or flair that can pretty much only be created by a 420deg iron plate. The rice is delicious, the meat is cooked the way you like it, decor is on par, friendly service and mate it's just all good. I had the double meat maxi meal with an egg. I'd recommend you add egg.

My new favourite restaurant. Quick, very fresh tasty meals - a bit of fun when they come out with a sizzling platter of your choosing. You finish off cooking your food by mixing and adding sauces.

I really enjoy my visits to this newly opened Pepper Lunch restaurant in Victoria Park. The steak comes out on a preheated 250 °C cast iron cooking plate and the customer gets to cook it to their liking. A quality steak will set up back the best part of $20 but for me it is worth every cent. The resultant is always clean and the staff are friendly.

Amazing! It tastes so good and it's served almost instantly monster if it's starting to get crowded, thanks to the fact you half cook it in your own plate your preference, only problem is it's a bit pricey. Definitely not a regular meal but a treat for the taste buds.

if you buy the most basic food you will get less than you pay for, also if you use their coupon they will give you less meat than when you actually order. We order one seafood pepper rice and i got 4 halves of small prawns and like 1 cm thick salmon fillet , when i mixed my rice with the seafood it just looked like a seafood fried rice the one that you can buy in a common chinese resto for 12 dollars but you get a lot more.
