A cozy restaurant with friendly service. Took the time to explain to my kids about the toppings on the tasty Takoyaki. We had the soft shell crab,katsu & karagae bento. Thumbs up! Don’t forget to try their Hokkaido cheese cake & salted caramel with hazelnut ice cream. Strongly recommend. Will definitely be back again. Thank you aunty for the wonderful experience.

A little hidden, located inside the foyer of the great Southern hotel, however the food and the service speaks for itself, amazing menu that is a blend of Japanese and Chinese with some classic western meals (burgers pizza etc) Christine the server is an absolute gem as well!

The owners were very friendly and accommodating. They spent time with us to give good recommendations. Every dish was cooked well and tasted very good. Noodle dishes had especially good wok flavour. Authentic and tasty Chinese and Japanese cuisine very reasonably priced. The couple who run the restaurant are such lovely and friendly people. There are also Western dishes available. We are looking forward to going back for another meal soon.

I definitely recommend the restaurant 1903. I stayed at the Great Southern Hotel in Northbridge 3 years ago, the Restaurant 1903 is attached. I loved the food so much that every time I visit Perth I make it a priority that I have a meal at 1903. My favourite dishes are the Yakitori Chicken Sticks and the Agedashi Tofu.

Great Japanese restaurant. We had a Groupon deal and did not have huge expectations but you can be assured that you will not come away hungry. Christina was a great hostess; very warm and friendly. The deal included wine, entree, soup and a Bento box filled with delicious Japanese delicacies as well as dessert. This restaurant is hidden away in a side street but well worth a visit if you want a good feed at great value. I highly recommend it and will certainly return.

My husband and I have been twice, and each time we couldn't fault anything. #The managers Christina and her husband are extremely pleasant, friendly and hospitable. #The food is plentiful and very tasty. # We had a voucher, which was extremely good value. But even without one, meals are still good value for money.

The restaurant is part of a hotel and is tucked away on a quiet street a couple of blocks back from the busier part of northbridge. We went for an early dinner, and had a Scoopon voucher, for a 3 course meal. We started off with yakitori, followed by udon and the donburi, both with prawn tempura, followed by the cheesecake and goma ice cream - suggested by the owner- which was great. All in all, great service and good food- thank you, we will be back.

Best Japanese food in Perth. We got the Groupon deal for 2 drinks, an entree, 2 mains and 2 desserts and everything was spot on. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful - they went out of their way to take care of us the entire meal. Everything was a highlight and we will be back asap!

Having read past reviews, we were expecting the worst, But were pleasantly surprised by the good food. Sate chicken and Spring rolls for an entree, with a calamari and teriyaki beef bento box, and by the time we had the sesame seed ice cream and orange almond cake, we were literally rolling out of the place. The lovely Singaporean manager, was very chatty and friendly, and we certainly enjoyed our evening, and would return. Please disregard the negative reviews, unjustified. My husband was impressed that he was only charged $7 for a pint of Sapporo beer.

i came in for lunch several of the days i was staying in perth. the staff is extremely friendly, giving good suggestions of places to see, and the food was delicious each time. it is also very convenient to get food before leaving the room, or returning to the room. highly recommended

We bought the Groupon deal for gourmet burgers, chips and beer for 2 people. We dined in and brought our 8 month son with us. The service was outstanding! They custom made a child's dish based on what our son likes. They allowed us to trade in a beer for a wine instead, no extra cost and we chose whatever wine we wanted. I also had there happy hour beer with is a choice of 3 different beers ($5 for a lager, pale ale and Japanese beer) pay $6 you can make it a pint. The food was really good, I wouldn't say the best I've had but value and quality, most definitely worth it. The server didn't overwhelm us by being at our side the whole time but was around enough to take care of our needs. We are going back to try the 3 course meal (2 for $39) which they told us we can do without using Groupon. I would recommend trying this place out.

The lady serving was very friendly and engaging - to the point where she convinced my sister to try chicken katsu (which is rare for her; the "McDonalds Generation" I call it). We stayed last minute after deciding to have a big night out in northbridge. booked online, was parked and in reception less than 20 minutes later. they have their own undercover parking ($10 overnight) which saved the hassle of finding a spot near/on william street. while we were waiting to check in (8pm) we were both offered a free drink at the bar, and after just starting our drink we were informed our room was ready, and that we'd been upgraded and were given a guest courtesy bag of some fruit and bottles of water. only 2 level, so no long waits for lifts, were in and out of rooms ready for dinner and drinks in 10 minutes. The hotel and rooms were clean, and very quiet considering the location. all staff very accommodating, and for the price theres no other places within the same walk that compare. perfect as a place to get ready, hit the town, have a great sleep and get home safely the next day. and waking up and hitting yum cha for breakfast at a nearbye resraurant in the morning is always a plus.
