If you are looking for an amazing experience having breakfast “on the beach” with an amazing sea-view, look no further.. We had a lovely breakfast. We requested a sea view sheeting as it was my daughters birthday. Waiters and all staff was very friendly and helpful. Used a dot system to show they have checked your vaccine status. Easy process and done very politely. Ordered full breakfast. Asked for scrambled eggs and was mo issue. Girls each had a milkshake and enjoyed a strawberry and chocolate milkshake. Food was perfect. Not over cooked or dry. Very tasty and enjoyed it. I would highly recommend them. I have included the pumpkin smash photo also.

We eat out a lot and were a little nervous that we would be disappointed, despite previewing the menu. We had NOTHING to worry about. The food, service and view were all unbelievably good! My husband and I cannot wait to go to Swell again with our daughters. Everything as perfect.

Wow! Before you even walk into this restaurant, you know the view will be a killer! Be quick to secure a balcony (enclosed) table. Having said that all tables look out towards the Indian Ocean. Staff are attentive and friendly. Menu is full of yummy dishes, including vegetarian. There are small bites as well as meals for the more hungry. The beverage menu has a good array of beers, wines, cocktails and mocktails. Also coffee, tea and dessert. And did I spot a Bailey's iced coffee?! Definitely next time! What an amazing place 😊

Not many cafe's are right on the beach but this one is. Lots of parking available and magnificent ocean views to go with the casual atmosphere. Great place for lunch or just a coffee and cake. It was a hot day so we had chilled drinks, Iced Mocha and a Iced Chocolate. Both were delish. A great place to chill out and be hypnotised by the waves.

Lunch with a friend. Booked a table online which was stress free. You get a LOT of reminders, with old covid restrictions but I'm sure they'll figure it out. I had the fish and chips. It tasted delicious and the fish offering was generous, chips a bit too salty for my liking. The whole venue is fresh and bright, staff are efficient and friendly, prices are reasonable. Good spot and plenty of parking nearby. Worth a revisit.

Great location, service was OK but not the best and it was a tad pricey. Eggs on toast was quite bland ($5 extra for avacado) and my espresso martini🍸 tasted like it was all coffee no alcohol.. the wife got the watermelon mojito🍹 which was very tasty 👌🏽 along with the vegi breaky, she was absolutely delighted 😋 might go back for a dinner soon and give y'all an update..

Had never been to this Cafe before but was super impressed. Coffee and breakfast were fantastic, the view was to die for and the fresh, clean decor made me feel instantly calm. Best of all were the wait staff who were super friendly, efficient and just plain lovely. Will definitely return.

Lunch date. Easy online booking. Staff calm and professional thru last day of mask wearing. Lovely views but best to book a month in advance for window seat. Still lovely view from our seat in the middle of restaurant. Food presentation showed creative detail. We had octopus tentacle and lamb kofta. Piece of pita might be nice addition to plate? Still salad is lovely and lots of ingredients.

My friend and I had a beautiful birthday breakfast at Swells last Wednesday. I asked for a window seat and got one which was good because we missed out last year. We had excellent attention from wait staff and our meal of eggs benedict was delightful. I had a garlicky hash brown as an extra too. I gave my friend a mouthful and she is now a convert and will order it next time. The meal was a little expensive but the food, scenery and attention made it all worth it.

My partner and I arrived for lunch and were seated quite quickly considering how busy it was. We were seated at a table with a gorgeous view of the beach. We got the garlic, rosemary and mozzarella flatbread to start which was devine. We inhaled it in couple minutes during our first drinks. I got a beautiful watermelon mojito which wasn't too sweet. For mains I got the buttermilk chicken burger with chips and sirarcha mayo, my partner got the lamb pizza. I absolutely loved my meal! I'm not a huge fan of brioche buns on burger but I could not fault this one. I also got a frozen passionfruit daiquiri - now THIS DRINK was AMAZING!!! The waitress we had was very attentive. All-in-all we had a wonderful experience. Well done Swell 👏 👏👏

A beautiful setting. It’s the first time I’ve visited this restaurant. I was impressed with the golden plate awards and I can understand why. The food was marvellous and the setting superb. Go for the food not for the service. The Front of house woman runined my experience. Waited 5 minutes to be checked in, Tagged me on the end of the table, didn't hand me a menu or offer a drink like the rest of the table had been offered before I arrived so my meal and drinks came out after everyone else's. It’s solid but I do think it’s time they changed the menu a little. Our food took too long to come out, over 45 minutes, but when it did the Octopus continues to be a highlight, the crispy squid had too much fish sauce in the nam Jim for my liking and the chips are absolutely not “rustic” with absolutely no hint of rosemary. That being said it’s a great view and so long as it’s solid then that’s enough but it could be better.

Had amazing service, super friendly, very very nice place with a great view. I had booked for my boyfriends birthday and checked in. Since it was his birthday they provide a little birthday surprise. Our waiter came over after our meal and whispered in my boyfriends ear about the surprise assuming it was for me. If he had just checked who booked it or checked with the front lady at the desk he would've know. Otherwise he was so so nice and really took care of us and even offered to take a photo. We did have the turkish bread for the starters and i just wouldn't recommend it.

Awesome location! 2nd visit in 3 days.1st for wine and an olive platter, on New Year’s Eve, brilliant. Back last night for dinner, I had the lamb shoulder (cooked for 8 hours) with roasted veg and beet purée, this was amazing. My partner opted for the daily pizza special, also have lamb on it. He enjoyed the toppings but the base was very floury and stodgy so he left his crusts! We would definitely recommend Swell!

Excellent place for breakfast. However, it is best to book in advance if you are planning on visiting at the weekend as it gets really busy. The food is always of a really high standard. We visited on a very hot Sunday and were placed on a round table in the corner which didn't get much ventilation from the air con so this may be worth investigating as it was uncomfortably hot. The reason for my four stars is that while the breakfast menu has vast choices for vegetarians/vegans, the lunch/dinner menu is severely lacking. There is nothing you can order from the 'Substantial' section and also please bring back the Pumpkin Pizza - I can't understand why it's been taken off the menu as I'm sure that it was a popular choice :) Due to the current lack of options, I won't visit for Lunch or Dinner until the menu changes

Love Swell! We booked for Mothers Day and it was farely quiet considering. My only issue was having to wait 30 minutes before we had anyone come to our table, jot even water provided. My son and I ordered Squid Tentacles and The Cheese Burger to then receive the Chicken burger instead. We ended up sharing meals( son was starving by this time) as we had to wait for the burger to be cooked again. Other than that everything else was great! Yummy cocktails and had the Who Dropped the Pavlova for dessert......this was huge and so moorish, we gave it a good nugde 😁

I give Swell Mullaloo Beach a 5 star rating!! Great Breakfast menu for both adults and kids and huge servings too. Excellent service from staff, beautiful restaurant theme/ambiance and awesome ocean scenic views while enjoying the foods. Our order has been served quickly. I enjoyed my Vegetable Breakfast and Mango passionfruit smoothie and so did the whole family enjoyed and loved their chosen breakfast meals. What I loved most about this restaurant is its variety of food choices especially to those people with food allergies. My mother in law is gluten and lactose intolerant. She was over the moon finishing her Eggs benedict with gluten free toast. The restaurant is kid friendly too. They provide coloring activities to keep the little ones busy. Me and my family will definitely come back for breakfast again and try having dinner in the restaurant too.

Absolute 5 star location with amazing view! As a special birthday outing for my 94 year old mum we went to Swell today for lunch, this was my fourth visit. Ordered the Warm Turkish bread to share as an entree, followed by Beetroot and Haloumi Salad with the Beer Battered Fish and Chips to share. Halfway through enjoying our entree our main meals arrived 🤷! We were told that because we had ordered bread as an entree the mains come out straight from the kitchen, we could not even fit the plates on the table. Raised the question with the waitress only to be told we could have a free coffee🙄! Needless to say we could not eat everything at once especially an elderly person who needs time. Food wastage on a major scale. Then the icing on the cake was the black hair that was floating in my coffee, I am a blonde grey! So sorry Swell but the 10% discount and free coffees didn't work for me! Very disappointed 😞

Our booking for lunch today did not show on their system but have since been able to send them the confirmation on my phone. Nice outlook and views but meals disappointing . Crispy squid tentacles were chewy and rubbery and not at all crisp. Our friend had pickles in his burger despite asking the staff to leave out so unable to eat. Other friend not impressed with the fish and chips. Our first visit did not go well.The young staff were trying so hard and very pleasant.

Great atmosphere and service. I opted for the popular beer battered fish and chips and it didn’t disappoint. The wife tried the crispy skin chicken which was ok, and the passion fruit daiquiri, which was very flavoursome and had great texture.

Swell was a really beautiful place to dine for Breakfast on Sunday, with a good spot on the outer side over looking the beach and surf life saving lessons going on. From the first time my brother from Sydney recommended Swell, every time, l have been to Swell, the experience has been wonderful in all aspects from the location, the service and the beautiful food, I will be going back many times on the future.

Most of the food and the service was very good. However the grilled fish I ordered wasn’t at all nice. It wasn’t well cooked and was nearly cold. Should have been thick and soft, flaking off my fork. Instead it was quite dry. I felt it was poor quality.

Couldn't fault the decor, views, good atmosphere, service and coffee. The food was a bit hit and miss all round. The salad that came with my fritters had way too much vinaigrette which threw the balance of the dish out. I also didn't enjoy the texture of the lumpy pumpkin puree. The fritters were crunchy and tasty but needed some relish to add freshness. The smoothie had a bit too many oats leaving a chalky taste in the mouth and the banana bread didn't taste very rich in banana flavour. Perhaps is was just a busy morning being a Sunday. I would return to give them another go but perhaps for dinner or lunch.

We were lucky enough to get a window seat to watch the sunset. The welcome was warm and friendly as was the service throughout the evening. I thought to recommend the restaurant to someone but they said that they had been to Swell and thought it overpriced. I have been to a few restaurants to eat and it would depend on what the restaurant was trying to achieve. I don't believe Swell is going for the cheap beach eats category. There is a pub next door for that. The taste of your food makes up for the slightly pricey but then again its on the beach with great sunset. Location, location, location.

When we ordered the fish special we were a bit hesitant because it seemed a strange dish (apples, walnuts, barramundi, celery paste, fennel) and when it first came out (after a lengthy wait) it seemed a bit small for its price. But ... By jinkies it was the best fish I've ever eaten in WA. The barramundi was perfectly cooked through and through (we got 2 of the same dish and both were exactly the same). The fish was seasoned perfectly. The mixture of ingredients and blend of textures all balanced out and we were given the perfect ratios of each individual ingredient so nothing over powered anything else. We got a Lemon Semolina to take home and the host told us to heat it up and enjoy with some ice cream and when we got home we followed her suggestions and enjoyed it WE DID. Couple with a perfect location with a balcony overlooking our gorgeous Perth shoreline and our crown jewel Mullaloo Beach, this restaurant is definitely a 10/10 in my book. Id reccomend their catch of the day but honestly, I saw some of their other dishes go past our table and I'm confident you wouldn't be disappointed. Great customer service. Friendly, polite, accommodative. It was a wait for the food and even the entree but it was also really busy and food was constantly coming out of the kitchen. When the meals are as good as ours was, we'd happily wait for hours. I literally never leave Google reviews but I read them all the time so I thought, in this case, I may as well return the favour and let yall know that this place is the bees knees.

Although we love coming here for drinks at sunset, we never have the option to eat here as they have a very poor vegan selection (basically choose a salad and we'll put tofu in it). Although the Mullaloo Beach Hotel has a vegan menu, we like to bring our dog and sit outside at Swell and be right near the coast. So I'm afraid 3 stars for this very limited menu.

If you're able to score a seat on the balcony, you are lucky as the views are amazing - right on the beach. My only disappointment is that there are no tables for two up against the windows. Although the food is lovely and always tasty, I have had a few bad experiences lately. Came on Tuesday morning a couple of weeks ago, asked if there was availability for a table of 2. The girl at the front did not even look up from the computer, told us "no" in such an incredibly rude tone (totally fine that you're fully booked, glad to hear in this climate). I told a friend about this experience and she said she had the exact same issue with what we assume to be the same girl. So so rude! Anyway I tried to ignore this issue and book a table for a catch up. When arriving I explained a have a booking for 8am.. the girl turned to another worker next to her and said "ugh it was for 9". Nope definitely for 8, I have the email confirmation. This email also said we would have the table for 90minutes, however at 9:05 we were told to leave for another booking. Such a shame that my friends and I have had some awful experiences recently, which unfortunately great food and lovely view cannot fix. I also work hospitality, so I'm aware of the difficulties that come with time management, however it is so important to be nice to customers, even if you're personally having a bad day.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch with family at Swell on a sunny Sunday. Three of us had the Lamb Shoulder, which was divine. Hubby had a delicious Risotto and my son had the very tasty pizza special. I had the pavlova for desert and this was extremely tasty with chewy meringue, cream and fruit (so you can pretend you are being a bit healthy). Others had a bitter chocolate orange mousse served with sorbet and churros which was thoroughly enjoyed. We had a table by the window with a magnificent view of the beach. The staff were really friendly and the service was faultless. Certainly looking forward to a return visit.

Valentine's Dinner I have been here several times and have always been impressed with the quality of the food. However, this time it was different, the food was oustanding , yet again. The meal portions were of a good size, although the falafel dish as an entree, was huge. The flavours of all the dishes went perfectly together, the chefs definateley did their homework. However, it was was the service that has appeared to go up a notch. Our waitress was simply oustanding on the night, very informative, attentive and made our evening really comfortable and enjoyable. I ordered a dish with dukkah in it for brunch a couple of weeks ago. I have a peanut allergy but didn't think to ask until the dish came. The waitress checked and told me it in fact did have peanuts in the dukkah. Without me asking she said she will check with the chef if they will make me another without the dukkah even though it was in the peak Sunday brunch time. The chef obliged and I received a new dish relatively quickly so I could join the rest of the table eating. I appreciate this gesture as it really was completely my fault. We went for dinner on a Saturday night. The venue is listed in the Entertainment Book as 'fine dining' (we didn't use the book voucher, just used the app to find a venue in the area). While very nice, I wouldn't classify it as fine dining. The venue itself is has a casual beach vibe, and the staff dressed for a daytime beach cafe. The tables were a bit close together; it was awkward to get in and out without bumping into the back of the person at the next table. The food was very good, with generous serving sizes. Unfortunately my partner asked for a modification to his meal (a simple omission for an easily-modified dish) and it wasn't done. The waitress repeated the order correctly so we think this may have been missed in the kitchen. As I'm gluten free, it makes me a little wary. Very few wines available by the glass, but if you're likely to get through a bottle, the list is nice. Some good gluten free options. We probably won't go back for dinner, as the venue just doesn't feel like a good dinner location - and of course the beach view doesn't count for much in the dark - but we may well give it a go for breakfast or lunch some time.

Swell emailed me to ask whether we had enjoyed our experience with them and to write to the manager if there was something I was not happy with. I did email the manager but did not receive a reply. I find this very odd. Why ask if you don't bother to reply? Same issue as with the booking system. We enjoyed our breakfast but I would like to make a comment regarding the booking system: When I booked, the system asked me what the reason for the booking was. It was for my birthday, so I clicked on that. It also asked whether there were any extra requirements, and I clicked on “high chair”. There was no high chair when we got there (but there were pencils for colouring in), so I asked for one but ended up getting it myself since the staff were really busy and didn’t bring us one. And, while it’s not a big deal, when I am asked to give a reason for the booking and I click on “birthday”, I do expect the waitstaff to say happy birthday or something like that. Why is the category there otherwise? Or is it just for statistical purposes? We did enjoy the food and the view though and we are regular customers.

I took my 90yo mum to breakfast at Swell. When I made the booking online I asked for a table with easy access and a view if possible. On arrival the staff were aware of the request and had reserved two tables for us to allow us to choose the table that suited mum's needs the best. Great service and attention. The food was excellent. I made one suggestion for improvement being to have a couple of menus in larger font available for sight impaired customers. This was acknowledged. I make this suggestion at most restaurants I visit with mum but have not seen it enacted as yet. Swell delivered good food and service. Kudos to the staff.

Love the spot at Swell. Staff are friendly, accommodating and attentive, the food is great and has a good range from family friendly through to higher value plates. The patio is gorgeous, overlooking the entire beach up and down the coast and well-protected with floor-to-ceiling windows, while also letting in a significant breeze if needed, so neither stuffy nor freezing. We also enjoyed the meal inside on our last visit. Fast becoming a favourite spot to dine, even though we have to drive 30 minutes to get there.

Took my lady on a date night here last Saturday...first the table was at the glass window over looking the ocean which was perfect for the sunset then the wait staff were extremely friendly and accommodating then the food...The entree's were almost main size and delicious and the mains were even better The Flat Bread was amazing and the Lamb Shoulder is the best lamb I've ever had! Service was fantastic under extremely busy conditions My partner and I had a great evening and I highly recommend dining here Thank you to the staff and the chef's. We'll be back!

This restaurant is amazing, great views and the food was delicious. I had the Japanese Calamari salad, very fresh full of flavour and generous serve of tender calamari. My companions had market fish , crispy chicken with rice cakes and slow cooked lamb. All very happy with the choices. The desserts are very impressive , I tried the chocolate mousse with blood orange sorbet and churro. The mousse was a little heavy but the sorbet and churro spot on. My friend had the pavlova and we all had dessert envy. Service was friendly and relaxed. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

Hi, The service and food was fine but as the sun was setting it was directly in our faces and the acoustics are very poor, leading to high noise levels. I would sit outside next time to have a more relaxing experience.
