The best beverages list!! 🙌 the white Sangria was honestly transportive, 3 cocktail slushy flavors plus a good non alcoholic range. I revisited after 2 bad experiences from 2019 & 2020, BIG CHANGES! yay!! The food was 80% better, the service was 80% better and they have a wicked NEW ordering system inclusive of a giant television like menu. I can't wait to go back and see what else improves

I really wanted to give this 5 stars, but I just couldn't because of one particular staff member. Let's start with the good things! The food is phenomenal, the burgers are incredibly well made, tasty and really well priced. The milkshakes are amazing! With a variety of flavours to choose from at a really good price too. The atmosphere is really really nice! Plenty to do while you wait for your food, things like Connect Four, Jenga, A pool table, arcade machines and even a PlayStation! It's such a nice and pleasant experience. The staff is really really nice, I was there yesterday and came back today this time bringing my family. Christine, one of the staff members was super kind and looked out for us both days with flying colours! Her customer service was phenomenal. The only reason I don't give this place a 5 star rating, is because of one of the other staff members that ruined it for me, they were very unpleasant and clearly didn't care about putting in the effort. The typical "I'll get paid by the end of the day anyway." attitude. Besides that little negative experience, really lovely place, amazing food, great atmosphere and Christine and all the other staff members were amazing.

Great food and service, only issue is the ball game that’s inside ruins the atmosphere completely as it’s very loud and irritating, could be replaced with something quieter to play on. My family ended up leaving because it wasn’t enjoyable to eat around. Other than that, amazing place and visit often.

Consider bringing cash and leaving a tip as the venue is eftpos only and after well over 12 months and more staff changes than I can count the owners still can't or refuse to pay their staff correctly (Aug 2021). Underpayments, wages below the award. Really sad saga. Staff fired and quit. a few of us local regulars have been following. We found it to be clean, well priced with friendly staff. The connect 4 and Jenga games on the tables are a cool touch. Kids area is pretty good, which is a good selling point for us. Pool table, happy hour and a play ground out the front. Just me and the wife this time but will bring the kids back for sure.

Its an amazing place especially if you have kids. Kids can busy themselves in games and outside park. Nice music, great atmosphere, delicious food and courteous staff. I will definitely recommend it to everyone living nearby. It’s extremely causal and relaxing.

I was pleasantly surprised after I had an experience that was opposite to the few poor reviews I saw about the food and service from the time before they shut for months and before we had moved into the area. When we found out they were reopening I thought it would be nice to go have a drink and maybe some food, but my expectations were not high due to the previous reviews. The Local Shack is not expensive so I thought worst that could happen is we have some bad food and a drink and an evening out the house. We went on a Saturday about 5pm and it wasn't very busy with a couple of other tables of families and some people coming in and out for a quick bite/drink or takeaway. This was also just after lockdown so I would assume people were still trying to stay in. I was greeted by very welcoming and friendly staff, we sat at our booth and looked around to see a very relaxed yet family friendly environment that would be a great place if you had young kids. The outdoor in the evening is well lit and has a more romantic vibe but this particular evening was a little too cold. We ordered food and drinks at the bar as instructed and got our drinks within a few minutes. I ordered a Margarita cocktail which was delicious and would absolutely make me have second thoughts about travelling into the city to pay double for something of similar quality. While you wait for your food there a small table top games to make the time fly. And boy did it fly! Our food followed not long after drinks. I ordered the It's a Spicy Cheeseburger Mini Sliders and my fella ordered the Big Heiny Steak Burger. We both took our first bites and looked at eachother with impressed looks. I can't say that we had the best meals of our lives but as far as pub grub goes the food was really good. I was a little dissappointed with the chips, with their thickness they could probably do with being fried twice for a little extra crunch and just to get that fluffy potato inside but the seasoning was yummy! The portions were good and what you expect at the price point at that quality. If you come here expecting Perth city food at a shopping mall in Forrestfield then you will be disappointed but if you just want some tasty hot food and a couple of drinks down the road then you're gonna have a good time. 4/5 stars - not perfect but still great!

After heading off to Sizzlers Kelmscott at our child's request since restrictions were lifted for buffet & being met with a massive queue almost out the door, we decided to go back to local with a few options in mind & our son decided on The Local Shack. So glad we did as the meal was awesome, we enjoyed every bite of it, only 2 young staff on but they were both so professional & courteous, you couldn't fault them. We will definitely be back. The environment they have created is really cool and chill. We can play jenga whilst we wait for our food. It's a good place to catch up with friends with a diverse menu. I can only really give a 3 star review because I have been here many times now and some nights its 5 stars and others its 1 star. Some nights the food is spot on, others its not so good (overcooked/ burnt). Also the wait times seem very inconsistent (Sometimes good, sometimes not good). Hopefully the next couple of visits it gets better.

The new manager is amazing, he bent over backwards to help us get our take away order (they run out of take away boxes) he handled the problem so professionally, we had a great out come. staff was great and the food was good, We will put "The local shack" back on our weekly take-away night. The only con was that I could not contact the restaurant manager directly, it goes through to head office (which didn't answer) how can you book a table or get direct information if I cant talk to the restaurant: I find this strange? if I was new to this place I would have rang and booked elsewhere, good way of loosing potential customers.

We had dinner tonight and was very happy with both service and food. We were a bit hesitant after reading reviews. But decided to give it a go ourselves. Burgers were amazing and our kids had the pancakes which were a hit! Maybe a suggestion with making kids milkshakes as they were too big to order and my kids love a good milkshake. I came in a few days ago whilst the local shack seemed quite busy. There were a few tables of 15+. The girls working especially the manager deserve such commendation and appraisal for their hard work and customer service. Visibly under the pump, we didn't wait for our cocktails and food was relatively quick under the circumstances. Overall very happy with the customer service from those ladies. Would happily bring my friends and family back based on the way we were treated and how efficient with the bar they were!

Best we've had here for quite a while ... generally good, but not always great. Tonight the steak was surprisingly good and the Calamari & Avocado salad was excellent. I don't tend to order calamari ... been caught out too many times ... but the chef nailed it. Only negative was confusion over the wording of their "2 for 1" Tuesday special ... needs clarification. Also 2nd drinks order didn't arrive in 10 mins so we had to leave and they tried to charge us for it!! But I repeat ... the food was REALLY good.

Had a wonderful first visit to The Local Shack finally! Coffee, milkshake and cake with my 4yr old! Such a good place to come with or without kids! My boy was very entertained with the great kids corner! Great food, service and set up! I’ll definitely be back, maybe next time kid free to try out the cocktails!! The food is always great and when the owner is around she’s great with customers but the last few times we’ve been we have had to wait an excessive amount of time for our food. Then I puts me off going back, eventually after a few months we forget and go back and again, have to wait a long time for food. It has so much potential but delay in the kitchen and being short on staff let’s this place down.

Was in the area last night and seen a few of these local shacks around town so decided to have dinner here and give them a shot. I had the cheesy garlic bread to start, so cheesy and crispy and the taste was perfect. For mains I had the grilled squid and avo salad. I haven’t had squid cooked to perfection like that in ages. The prices and portion sizes and great and the staff are really friendly and tentative. I’m glad I have this place a shot and will be back for dessert:)

Myself and my 3 boy's came in for a late lunch/early dinner today (Mothers Day). Fortunately we picked a quiet time (2.00) as they had been packed out all morning. Despite this.... the staff were friendly and efficient, the food was awesome, milkshakes devoured and I enjoyed a lovely free Mimosa for Mothers Day. A great spot right next to a playground for the kids to play whilst in full view. Definitely will be coming back and highly recommend... Thank you guy's for a stress free treat for this mumma :)

Great place for a coffee! The service from the staff here is outstanding and I have never waited for anything from here. I come her quite often and always seem to see the same manager working, I'm sure her name is Katy! As my shift work is all over the place I seem to always see her working. It seems like she never stops, she must almost sleep there. Be it from 8 in the morning till after 9 almost everyday Katy is there working hard cleaning something or filling out paperwork. She is a lovely young girl and an absolute asset to the local shack I'm sure!

Good casual atmosphere & a very accommodating place especially for children with a kids TV & a lounge set up. There is also the playground within view outside = great setup for parents to maintain an eye of the children whilst enjoying. Seriously friendly service, with daily specials and a generous serving. A $25+ meal e.g. the ribs or the lamb shank included salad, sauce & chips plus free kids meal as a special. = value+. Highly recommend this place. (Cant satisy everyone, theres just too many wingers out there, this place is worth your time)

It's not bad. First time I went, service was fantastic, food cooked well and served quickly. Second time, service was okay, food took a little bit longer, chips were soft, and no water cups on the self-serve area. In general the pepper squid is very peppery - the batter is made with big specks of pepper, and the aioli sauce is unlike any aioli sauce I've ever had. It's orange is colour and I couldn't really taste it because the spices on the other foods were overpowering. I personally like a more traditional aioli sauce. Apart from all of that, the chicken wings and ribs were yummy.

I love this quirky Local Shack- rustic and relaxing. Just what we need in Forrestfield. The Pulled Pork Sliders ( $11.98 for two) were delicious!
