Comments of Tosaka Ramen Bar

Legit bowl of chicken broth ramen in Perth. Tried the spicy version $23. Lucky there was no Q. Wait time while seated waw pretty long but I think this is due to manpower issues + the ramen is made on the spot.
r.
The staff was friendly and the place was clean and cosy. The food was excellent, no doubt about that. I have never eaten chicken breast that tender and juicy. It was so skillfully prepared that you wouldn’t know it was chicken breast meat. It was divine. However, the portion to price ratio was problematic. Perhaps the rent in the city is very high. A plate of karrage chicken $9.50 had a pathetic amount of chicken. For a bowl of $21 ramen, we had two really small but nicely presented chicken pieces and 1 slice of pork cha siew. Overall a nice experience. It is worth a try.

Love what this place is doing, The Tori Paitan broth is so full of umami and the Chashu chicken and pork is delicious, perfectly textured noodles complimented with either the black garlic oil or chilli shrimp oil, both of which are fantastic. Absolutely delicious. Cosy dining room and friendly wait staff.

Okay, the food was very tasty and flavourful and for that the price is quite reasonable and nice. However the only problem I have with this is the at least 1 dish per customer policy. When I went here with my family, my son who wasn't very hungry was happy to share with the two bowls between the three of us. But the server (who was nice about it) said that we have to order another dish or we couldn't eat together. Now we didn't really want to spend another $16~ on ramen, so we had to get an entree - I think the one of cheapest was the lotus chips around $8. Although they were yummy, there was not many of them. Once we had finished there was still alot of ramen left- hence why we didn't want to buy more food. Overall, the atmosphere + presentation was nice and the food was delicious, but we probably won't return.
H. U.
It was worth the wait. Best ramen broth in Perth. Best chasiu pork, not too salty, not too greasy. And they have gluten free noodle options.
J. C.
Wait time is quite long, BUT it’s worth it.
Perth hidden gem. The chicken really moist, and the chicken ramen broth is realy nice
d.
Best ramen place in Perth or maybe even whole of oz. I was sceptical about this place because I'm a tonkotsu fan but this place converts me. Tori paitan has a soft spot in my heart now.
On to the dish:
- Tori Paitan (white and red). The chili oil of the red tori Paitan can be a little overpowering and mask the ramen broth taste. Still yummy combo though. If it's ur first time trying it, go with the white one. Smooth broth taste. The highlight is the PORK chasiu. Chasiu is tender, juicy and well caramelised. The chasiu alone worth a shout out.
I will definitely come back if I'm in town.

I go here around once a fortnight and have found that it has always lived up to my expectations. It's a great place to go on weeknights and I recommend going early on Friday and Saturday to skip the lines.
Friendly staff, reasonable pricing and above all else, hands down the best chicken broth and pork chashu in Perth. The restaurant has a nice cosey feel and during winter, nothing is better than ramen on a cold wet day. Highly recommended.

Delicious! Really good food. Good quality ramen. I will definitely come back

This shop has been in Northbridge fir more than three years already. The chef comes from a beautiful Kyoto of Japan, the oldest city in Japan. He has inherited the skill of cooking the traditional chicken broth (Paitan) in Kyoto. A very friendly and a humble chef. To me, the traditional Tori Paitan Ramen flavour is not bad. After I tried Black Garlic Oyako Tori Paitan Ramen, I knew it will be my future number 0ne ramen in this shop should I visit again. Yes, it was flavourful, rich and creamy. Takoyaki's deep-fried skin is a bit salty but it goes well with the unsalted flour, octopus and ingredients of the ball. They don't sell Tonkotsu (pork) broth only specialise in Paitan. Cheers!
D. Y.
My favourite ramen place in Perth so far! The chicken broth is surprisingly rich and tasty but doesn't leave an overly heavy feeling afterwards, unlike some pork based broth - which I still like but the chicken broth is a nice change. Food sometimes do take a while to come out but that's a testament to the care they put into it and the attentive service makes up for it too. The overall ambience of the restaurant is lovely and relaxing as well.

Price (4/5)
Fairly good price around 10-20+ for a bowl.
Food (5/5)
Delicious ramen. Broth was thick and rich but not very salty. It’s really a great balance. Egg was well cooked as well. However the spicy shrimp one was slightly off as the taste of the shrimp overwhelms the broth. The spiciness was good though. Black garlic ramen was great as well.
Service (4/5)
Good service. Nothing significantly bad. Patient service though the food take a bit of time but the quality makes up for it.
Atmosphere (5/5)
One of the better ones I have seen around. Great lighting and music to create a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Place was clean and nice.
Overall (5/5)
It is a great choice to enjoy ramen especially a different taste compared to the normal tonkotsu ramen. Definitely recommended.
M. R.
Highly recommend this place. Very unique creamy chicken broth which was reminiscent of some Ramen bars we visited while in Japan. Authentic Japanese as well with great service and no compromise on food and hospitality standards. Love it and will go back again! Must try for fans of Ramen.

Update
When I reviewed this restaurant below a few weeks ago I commented about their new menu where they removed their entree sized teriyaki tofu from the new menu recently and replaced it with a main course sized teriyaki tofu at double the price.
Well I finally ordered it on Saturday night and was shocked to see although double the price the only difference was 2 additional tiny thin pieces of tofu ,rice portion seems the same.
So here it is mystery is solved double the price for 2 thin small pieces of tofu!
But it was tasty
I've been coming here for many years.
It's truely the best Ramen in Perth.
I love coming here
The service is amazing and the couple that run the place are very hardworking there in the open kitchen.
Today I was very disappointed Because I always order an additional small portion of teriyaki tofu with rice To go with my Ramen .
Today they have a "New" menu and they took the smaller portion off the menu.
I dine alone and the large portion is too big for me as an additional meal.
Please put the small portion back on the menu.
If you need to charge more that is fine.
I'm sure many customers will be disappointed.Sometimes when you have a beautiful business with loyal customers you must accommodate above profits or convenience.
M. A.
If you like chicken and you love ramen. This is your place.
Great service. Great setting. Great ramen.
Mostly chicken based broth with fantastic legitimate ramen toppings.
Starters were great. Karage chicken was tender and crispy. Gyoza were fantastic and came out quickly to satiate my rising desire for ramen!
Really recommend and will be back soon.
C. Z.
The atmosphere is nice but the food could be better. The umami of the chicken broth can be more, it is a little bit under seasoned. Would be good if they can provide ramen seasoning/salt or sauce on the table to add on your own. The sake we ordered is very refreshing and easy to drink. Overall is ok.
t. c.
I barely managed to finish their noodles as its very rich and heavy so i didn’t go for an extra. This does not mean that their ramen was horrible but it was out of the blue to me. It was so creamy that i felt like i was eating carbonara in japanese ramen style in a way. Their gyoza was small portion but better quality than i expected 😊
No comment about their customer service as i went there when it was fully packed - I understand 😌
Y. H.
The restaurant is small but very cozy. The ramen is divine!! The texture of the noodle is perfect and the soup is very thick and very delicious.
L. A.
Second time coming here this month because it was too good the first time. I have lived in Tokyo and these eggs are the best ramen eggs I have ever had. Staff are very nice and the food is amazing.
S. T.
love love love. staff are so amazingly nice and the food is absolute yummy. the restaurant is so cute and the price is decent
E. H.
Lovely little restaurant with great service.
Ramen was very delicious & so was the little rice bowls for children.
Added bonus is the ramen dish all in all was not too salty.
And the soup is not as heavy as it is a chicken based broth.
Only thing is I would’ve preferred if they offered bottled tap water for the table & put the Air conditioning on when it’s a warmer day.
Otherwise, was happy with everything else.
Y.
Really tasty! Tried the white oyako ramen, the egg was perfectly marinated and soft. The broth itself is extremely thick - even thicker than Ramen Keisuke, this broth is quite salty and is more like a savoury thick sauce that you eat the noodles with. The mini chashuu don was also delicious, with its delicious smokey fatty pieces. Karaage was very nice, not amazing but definitely above average.
The only negative was it took over 45 minutes for food to come out, but this was on a busy Friday lunchtime and they were close to their max capacity of about 20 people.
Definitely give it a try if you like rich thick ramen!
L. C.
The black garlic chicken paitan soup base was flavoursome. Noodles were too soft for my tastes. Chicken chasu was delicious. Pork belly chasu came out as a large chunk, which if slow cooked like a kakuni would have been amazing, but was instead a bit on the tough side.
T. H.
Super tasty food. Super moist chicken. Awesome broth. Great service and food was super quick even thou staff told me that "they were understaffed and service would be slow"
E. T.
Ramen broth was nice, it was thick chicken broth. Ramen texture and portion wasn’t bad, but don’t expect a lot of toppings like other good ramen places. They gave spring onion, 2 pieces of chicken cha shu, 1 egg.
Staff were friendly but 1 waitstaff was about taking a bowl while we were still scooping soup without asking first! Not sure why she wanted to clear the table quickly
G. L.
Tried the Black Garlic with Cha siu Tori paitan ramen. The broth was quite thick and a nice string pleasant flavour. Unfortunately the egg was slightly overcooked but still tasted good. I prefer seaweed to be added but don't mind the cabbage instead.
M. s.
Surprisingly the chicken broth was rich and creamy and delicious!! We have always had pork broth for ramen but this is definitely something we will crave and come back for. Not to mention the friendly crew completed the positive dining experience
G. G.
Now I can eat Kyoto style chicken ramen at Perth, just goto Northbridge, Perth city. Semi bar broth, authentic Kyoto chicken ramen from Japan. Nice and various choice, small portion, quiet place, clean, friendly service, price middle high, good.taste.
퍼. E. I. P.
We ordered TORI PAITAN RAMEN which was nice simple flavour and SPICY SHRIMP TORI PAITAN RAMEN which was also tasty but quite hot.
Another one, KARAAGE DON which was a mini size rice bowl. It was tasty but I drank 2 cups of water which was self served. Lol
If you want to try a chicken broth ramen I would recommend here.
J. H.
Wow the soup is so rich and creamy. If wasn't told it was a chicken based soup I'd just assume it was a pork tonkatsu soup. The chicken is tender. We weren't given an option for the ramen softness. Is say it's similar to the soft option at Ippudo. We ordered the original ramen and the black garlic. Both were excellent.
Probably the best ramen I've had in Perth
J. R.
Takoyaki is so great!! Crisp outside and soft inside 🤤🤤
K. I.
The vegetarian ramen actually tastes better than the chicken broth based ones. So yummy, comforting and delicious!
R. f. d.
The chicken broth is thiccc, creamy with strong essence of chicken. It’s really rich and flavoursome, my favourite out of the 3 will be the black garlic. It’s gives a the broth a different complexity and depth to it.
I do recommend getting the egg, its the right consistency and the whites are flavoured with soya sauce* possibly*.
The cha siu is THICCCC so do give it a go if you have the extra cash :3 over all I had a pleasant experience (3times I have been there different periods) pretty consistent with flavours, noodles, soup, oh the chicken cha siu is amazing!
It’s most likely chicken breast but it’s not drying, but sweet, and juicy.
Hmmm~ oh fyi water is self service near the cashier.
F. H.
Very good staff, good atmosphere. Thick rich ramen broth. Not my taste but I know a few people who enjoy this style ramen. Overall 8/10.
M. B.
Rich and creamy chicken broth. We ordered the Black garlic oyako tori paitan, white w cha su tori paitan and chicken gyoza. I would say they tasted phenomenal. The chicken cha su and the creamy chicken broth was one of the yummiest I have tasted in a long time. I would love to come again and try out the toppings and vegan options. The staff is friendly. Highly recommend.
J. G.
This place exceeded all of my expectations. The chicken broth is absolutely delicious, like a rich roast chicken soup. The chicken chashu which I’m not usually a fan of really surprised me. It tasted of yuzu and pepper and it was obvious some real thought and care went into preparing it. I love the jazz they play and the cosy atmosphere, it really feels like this could be a small ramen shop in Kyoto. The Japanese service and the fact that they serve my favourite Japanese beer, Yebisu, really put the cherry on top. By far the best tori ramen I’ve tasted outside of Japan.
P. W.
It is quite difficult to review food, especially given how diverse of a palette that everyone can have. Ramen especially can be a highly polarising type of cuisine with wildly different preference, so please understand that this ramen is less suited for ones that prefer a lighter ramen broth or something more closely resembling shoyu ramen. That said, if you prefer a thicker broth or just love ramen in general I can wholeheartedly recommend this place for your next bowl of ramen. I have been to multiple ramen places in Perth (though there are a few more to go to), and here are my thoughts when comparing Tosaka to the others. Chain ramen restaurants like Ippudo, Bari-uma or Keisuke provides a taste of ramen that is familiar to those who enjoys ramen frequently, so Tosaka actually provides a more unique flavour and showed mastery of the tori paitan technique that won me over. However, it is still different when compared to tonkotsu ramen, so it shares the same affection that I have with Hakata Gensuke which I adore. I would not hesitate to put both above Nao ramen as I find the broth from Nao less refined and the overall experience more underwhelming than the aforementioned two. Now, it is not to say that the ramen from Tosaka is without flaw. Personally I find that the chicken chashu to be just ok, and the noodle can be slightly underwhelming given the thickness and the flavour of the broth. The grievances are minor though and the broth is definitely the shining star of the show. As for recommended option I would say get the original tori paitan ramen. The attached picture is the one with black garlic oil I've had from previous visit. While good, the black garlic oil adds too much intensity for my liking, but your mileage may vary. The original bowl I've had a few days ago was, in my humble opinion, one of the best I've had. The atmosphere of the shop is quaint, and the staffs are friendly. I've been greeted and talked to by the chef after my meals and it adds to the experience and deepens my appreciation for the ramen. I hope they can navigate themselves through the pandemic. I would not hesitate to choose Tosaka if I am craving ramen, and I believe you would feel the same too.
E. H.
Very yummy paitan. They even have a black garlic version of it and it was really good. I would've preferred nori seaweed instead of cabbage. Both the pork and chicken char siu were tasty. Staff were really friendly and provided great service.
S. E.
Love the ramen! Which is their main attraction. I love the don aswell, theyre cheap and taste good. The best part is how they dont miss greeting you when you enter and they even bow to you even the chef! Great hospitality i must say! P/s their lotus chips taste marvelous, always had this as my sides, no kidding.
p. s.
They are delicious, we didn’t even expect it’s that good! Very surprised, especially they didn’t have too much advertising also the flavour is different compare to the other ramen in Perth.
It’s black garlic flavour in the pic and it’s yum but I’ll love to try the shrimp one next time!!
C. B.
Probably the best ramen I’ve eaten in Perth! AND don’t miss out their donburi, it’s even better (can you believe it!) 😋😋
M. O.
First time here. I kept telling myself, I need to try this place. I chose the basic white Tori Paitan (rich chicken broth) and it was interesting taste with the froth. Happy to try another type broth next round.
D. C.
Creamy and delicate flavours, side note make sure all parties are present before entering ramen bar.
K. J.
Tonkatsu using chicken but the broth is super thick, almost soup like. Chicken is melt in your mouth. Egg done perfectly too. Will be back for sure.
A. W.
Very rich umami flavor from the soup and really tender chicken breast!
Lovely!
L. T.
Convinced this is the best ramen in Perth, simple as that. A few options for everyone, including vegetarians, everything from the soup to the noodles to protein is just perfect
A. M.
So so so yummy. We had to wait a few minutes for a table to become available and they brought us a cup of tea each. So considerate and went above and beyond. The ramen was the best I've had in Perth. Absolutely recommend :)
L. B.
Delicious creamy rich broth, tender meats, great tea, fantastic ambiance and welcoming staff. Can't wait to go again!
L. L.
Not sure why was my ramen so bubbly.. tasted okay maybe my expectation were too high.
I. Z.
Best Ramen in Perth.Always amazing every single time.
B. M.
Best ramen I've ever had! Wish I could marry the chef. Super chill vibe inside as well!!
N. L.
Excellent quality ramen. There are millions of ramen shops in Tokyo but even there it could be hard to find this quality of ramen shop.
F. I.
Best ramen in Perth. Every time I go I have trouble deciding, because whatever I order becomes my new favourite.
C. M.
best chicken ramen in town don't need to go to Japan for this good place good customer service Love this place😎🤙👍👍👍 I'll be back for some more
K. W.
tasty chicken broth ramen. fried squid and rice with chasui pork ok. went well with kirin beer. aircond and friendly prompt table service.😋
G.
Been here a few times and had a consistently good experience, Friendly staff who are also adept at managing the situation when there is a line outside, quality alcoholic beverages and awesome vege ramen.
M. K.
Ramen was beautiful and well priced. Service was friendly and very polite.
I will be going back.
H. H.
The ramen soup is rich, but if the man estimates that he needs to add the amount of noodles
S. N.
We be here today and it was really amazing and have to try ramen soup service is good and super friendly
L. A.
Food was amazing so good so authentic. Only down side was they accidently mischarged us a few dollars but it was fine
A. P.
Spicy chasiu ramen !! Omg divine !! Love sitting at the bar enjoying delicious ramen and authentic japanese beer 👌🤩 definitely recommend 🥂
A. A. W. A.
Had to wait over 30 minutes for my ramen. It was pretty busy but I personally have never had to wait that long for ramen, even in a busy restaurant. But, would recommend going when its not busy because the ramen is quite good.
N. B.
Best ramen I've ever had! Waitress was also very friendly
d.
This is by far our favourite Ramen place in Perth. Every element in the bowl of ramen is on point. The chicken broth is thick, full of flavour. Noodles cooked to perfection. The chicken was tender and flavourful but the chashu pork is the winner.. Barbecued and sliced to just the right thickness. Must try if you are a ramen fan.
j. o.
This is one of my favourite Ramen bars in Perth. While I love pork ramen & Tosaka’s specialty is chicken, it’s lovely and creamy and lighter than a Tonkotsu.
The entrees are great & they have a good selection of Japanese beers, plum wine, sake, etc.
J. K.
Best Ramen I have ever had - even when in Japan - nothing has come close.
L.
Tastes like you're back in Japan again. Also had been having Gumshara Ramen cravings for those who used to live in Sydney and want a rich thick gelatinous brothed ramen! Excellent flavouring, perfectly portioned, not too salty as well which can be an issue with some ramen broths. Chashu chicken and pork were absolutely delicious, moist, tender and fragrant.
j. c.
The broth is very thick and rich. No complaint on the flavour. The chicken is so soft. We have ordered the black garlic oil and red shrimp oil. Both are very delicious. The only downside is the waiting time. But it worth the wait.
T. S.
Great chicken based broth ramen, good service too!
t.
Tasty and unique in Perth, moderately priced chicken ramen and sides.
A. P.
Best ramen in Perth by far!
Y. W.
Chicken broth soup is nice, but the chicken not to my taste.
T. V.
The vegetarian ramen is out of this world! The owner really pulled off a great vegetarian ramen. It's much more light on the stomach easy to digest, yet still soo flavoursome and filling that it can satisfy a hungry appetite 😍. Please keep up the great cooking 😘
B. B.
Always my first choice for ramen, black garlic ramen is the best!
J. D.
Best veggie ramen I've ever had, amazing food!
K. M.
Tosaka rates #1 on my list of ramen restaurants in Perth. Not only have they taken the less common approach of creating a chicken broth but they've seemingly perfected it. Cool jazz and professional wait staff really makes the experience one to remember.
Thanks for putting in the work every day Tosaka!
E. T.
Good ramen a bit pricy but that was worth it
N. K.
Best chicken ramen I have had in Perth. A must try
a. c. (.
Delicious food, extremely flavoursome and enjoy every slurp, bite and sip of it.
J. W.
First time trying a chicken based ramen, it was quite creamy and tasted good, though it's quite different than the pork one that I'm used to. Noodles weren't the greatest but weren't bad. The egg was great, I wish I had added seaweed though as mine didn't come with it. Drinks were quite expensive and small serves.
B. C.
Consistently great chicken ramen, highly recommend trying it out! They also have great vegetarian ramen options.
J. R. C.
Love this restaurant!!! Simple as that... I've already tried all what they have on the menu and loved everything!!!
I. S.
While it was still nice, its pretty pricey as you need to pay extra for things most other ramen places include standard. You only get two small slices of chicken per bowl as well which doesn't add up
D. T.
Up there with the best ramen in Perth. Not your stereotypical ramen, complete different style but one worth trying as it's delicious! As it's the karaage. Definately recommend and will be going back myself.
K. T.
Delicious ramen time and time again. The broth is thick, creamy and smooth, like a hug from the inside out! The chicken is beautifully prepared and seasoned. The pork is perfectly flavoured, tender and crisp. Excellent, friendly service. Highly recommended!
B. C.
Food was great. The original broth is better I find the garlic kinda over powers the taste but the big let down was the staff, waitress was polishing glasses when there dirty tables to be cleaned and people waiting in line. host doesn't even ackownledge you are in the line.
A. T.
Best ramen in Perth - I'm calling it! Contentious, but seriously the broth here is unique and rich without being heavy. Full of flavour, and nobody can figure out how they make the chicken so tender. What??? How??? I don't know, it just works.
The staff are super friendly and the beer and sake pairs well with their ramen and karaage (my favourite in Perth also). Maybe I'm biased. Or maybe it's just that good!
F. A.
Best ramen in Perth. Lovely, rich, tasty, comforting chicken broth. Also great chicken slices served with each bowl of chicken ramen. You'll wonder at how they get the chicken so moist and tender. Very polite staff. Absolutely love.
R. R.
I had the vegetarian black garlic ramen. It was great and didn't make me miss ordering a meat dish. Really good flavour.
A.
One of the few places around Perth that serve chicken-based broth ramen.
Small, cozy restaurant that also has a bar (and some good alcohol selection!)
Ramen is alway spot on and super thicc! Worth trekking into Northbridge for!
T. L.
Rich creamy chicken broth. Reminiscent of keisuke's super thick pork broth. I loved it. But not for the faint of heart.
Chicken was a little odd but very juicy and tender - I think if it was cooked in a different way to sousvide it might have been better.
I love that they have vegetarian options and will be back to try!
J. K.
Tosaka's unique broth that takes the best parts of the chicken flavour and combines them into a rich, aromatic experience + their chicken chashu is the most succulent I've ever tasted 🤯🤯🤯
Why would you bother lining up for other ramen places when you can eat here? 💯👌🤤
M. A.
Great broth and attentive service
U.
Great food and service. Best chicken based ramen I have had, every component was made to perfection. No complaints
D. W.
Ramen Bar, Kyoto style chicken broth. Great food!
I hadn't even heard of "Ramen" until I visited this little gem of a place Japanese style pulled noodles in a slow cooked chicken broth, the flavors were amazing. Had a great choice of different Ramen and some delicious "Saki" and Japanese beers to compliment the food. Will definitely head back for again to try more of the menu.
J. M.
Friendly staff awesome food and a great dining experience. Can't wait to get back there a sample the entire menu
J. T.
Absolutely the most fulfilling bowl of delicious nourishment I've had from a bowl of ramen. Can't recommend this place enough. Their sake was also delicious.
A. J.
I'd say the best ramen I've tried here in Perth. Service was exceptional. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting a delicious meal. Will definitely return for more!
S. C.
Finally some chicken ramen now available in perth! Tasty, delicious broth. Good portion size of noodles, however if you are very hungry I would go for the extra noodles. Only thing I would change is that the temperature of the broth could be hotter and one more slice of chickan (only comes with two).
e.
Oishii. One of the best ramens I've had even in Japan
A. D. O.
My ramen dreams have come true! I've always wondered what chicken ramen would taste like... And this place did not disappoint. I loved the tori paiten broth that my partner ordered, and he loved the black garlic one that I decided on. The noodles and egg were cooked to perfection too. We also enjoyed the chicken gyōza. The only slight negative was that the waitress forgot to take our order even though we were the only ones in the restaurant, but her friendliness made up for it!
B. B.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our Tori Paitan ramen ...he, the black garlic and I, the original chicken broth! The Takoyaki for our entree was a sign for more delicious food to follow and we were not disappointed. The Spicy Chicken Karage was scrumptious and the Mochi ice cream was such a delight! Complimenting our most "flavoursome" lunch was the Peach Sake!!
Staff were simply fantastic and the chefs are masters at their craft of authentic Japanese (Osaka) Tori Paitan Ramen! Highly recommended!!
H. Y. W.
Pretty good ramen, very thick soup almost like a roast chicken soup. Other dishes are also authentic and owners appear to be Japanese. However, food was slow to come out.
J. B.
Stumbled upon this unassuming ramen bar by accident, and what a pleasant surprise it was. Some of the best ramen we have had (which includes our Japan trip). Staff were also wonderful. Will certainly be back!
諾.
Karaage is crispy and juicy, takoyaki is not bad and well seasoning, but after waiting a long time for my ramen (about 30 - 40 min I'm not sure why) it's a bit disappointing. The broth is thick and rich but the cha shu are terrible, chicken cha shu just taste like plain boiled chicken breast slice, pork belly cha shu looks like a proper cha chu but the skin is not crispy, tasteless and full of grease.
It's a bit expansive for this quality and portion size, it's a shame. I hope they will have some improvement in the future.
D. f.
Favourite ramen place in Perth! I had the Tori paitan ramen and gyoza and I'm still thinking about it a few days later. The food is DELICIOUS, very high quality, seasoned perfectly, and AUTHENTIC! I've been to Kyoto, Japan two times in my life and this is the only ramen in Perth that comes close to anything in Japan. People who are complaining about it probably have only had western-style ramen, which is a completely different taste. the staff are lovely, highly recommend! Will be my regular ramen spot!! :)
A. H.
Excellent ramen and lovely warm service
E. M.
The ramen here is excellent and this is definitely one of the best places in Perth to have it. The restaurant is very clean and has a good vibe, and the staff are also very friendly.
The food is good quality for money and I am looking forward to coming here again when I have a ramen craving!
Highly recommended :)
m. o.
Loved my #3. Excited to have a chicken ramen joint to go to. Would love to have a tad more of the chix broth cos it was so yummy. Karaage nice to. Managed to try the spicy stock and a bit undecided on that. It has a spicy shrimp.belachan taste to it which I love - but not too sure I do like it in a Japanese ramen broth. A bit too fusion for me. Looking forward to trying the garlic broth.
C. J.
My first chicken broth ramen experience! I wasnt expecting it to be as good as pork broth but it was so delicious. The chicken gyoza was really good too. Food came out pretty quick and service was excellent. Very impressed, will be back :)
M. T.
Loved this place. Perfect pork belly in the Ramen and the black garlic broth was very nice. Also enjoyed the chicken gyoza and spicy fried chicken 👌

Really enjoyed this place! The black garlic flavour was fantastic
B. S.
Simply delicious. Rich flavours, tender meat and just the right amount. Never had Ramen like it. We’ll be back!
J. B.
Really really good chicken soup base.
C. K.
Delicious ramen served by friendly staff! Apparently the chef works on the broth for 8+ hours- worth every minute! Will be coming back again 🥰🥰🥰
T. S.
Everything was spot on. Great food and service. Very cool ambiance and smooth jazz. It’s a stand out from most Japanese restaurants in all aspects. Thanks for great service and delicious food.

Best chicken broth I have tasted. Beautiful prepared food. Highly recommend to all.
C.
Expect great things. There’s a new kid in town - ramen with depth of flavour in the broth and the meat. Most unbelievably they have even made chicken breast worthy of five stars.
J.
10/10 food and staff!! Tap malt beer is on point. Will be back for more good times
P. L.
Very nice and creamy chicken broth! The gyoza and the Cha-Shu are very nice except the soft boiled egg is a bit too salty. Friendly Japanese staffs.
N. B.
Had the most amazing vegan ramen I've ever tasted here. Will definitely be back 😀
J. C.
Loved the bbq chicken ramen!
F. R.

Went there for dinner. The chicken ramen was really good, thick broth, but my favorite is the chicken karaage. Great hospitality as well. Definitely will be back 👍🏻✨

Tosaka is the newly opened Ramen Resturant in Northbridge. Say "Hi" to Kazuo and his wife. The opening times are:
Lunch 11:30 am to 2:00pm
dinner 5:30 pm to 9:00pm
closed on Wed.
The food is excellent and definitely worth a try.
K. I.
Had a great dinner with my partner here on a Saturday Night. Good taste and a different ramen style which was previously not found in Perth. Oishii
J. H.
First chicken ramen ive had. Exceeded expectations.
H. C.
Always busy. But the inside is clean and the food is good.
S. L.
Refreshing to try chicken broth for ramen. But personally still preferred pork broth and more topping like seaweed.
G. B.
OMG - I'm pretty sure this is the best ramen I have had in Perth. Unctuous, thick broth but not heavy or sickly. Just the right amount of chilli hit and egg cooked to perfection. Owned and operated by Japanese so the authenticity and quality is there in spades. Will be hurrying back for more and also to try other stuff on the menu!! Support local businesses - this one is a must!
J.
Amazing experience and amazing food. Service is superb and cleanliness is always top notch. I love how polite the waiters and waitresses are and would definitely recommend to anyone 10/10

Fantastic chicken (toripaitan) ramen. Silky soft chicken, perfectly prepared egg, and thick, tasty soup. Authentic tastes.
C. O.
Delicious!!!!!! .... is all I can say! Lovely ramen and was skeptical of the chicken broth , thinking it won’t be as flavoursome compared to traditional ramen broth but this lived up to expectations.
D. M.
One of the best Ramen in perth.

Tosaka Ramen Bar...what can i say...!!!alot .i recently attended this new ramen bar in northbridge and was suprised and shocked..me and my partner tried 2 ramens..which to my surprise where chicken based as opposed to pork..the broth was surprisingly sweet and light but also dense with flavour..everything from the hand made gyoza to the slow cooked infused garlic oil and hand made sauces..every bite bought a tear to my eye as i relieved and felt like i was in japan again..to ambience and excellent customer service..the karaggee was the best i have had in years in Perth..the broth 2 die 4..i have never felt tgis moved from eating food in a long time..the owners i feel put as much heart and soul and spirit into the preparations and delivery of their cuisine..even their lotus chips..i recommend this place to any ramen or authentic japanese enthusiast..i hope this place is around for years to come..and look forward to eating here as much as possible small menu..but amazing...tastes like kyoto..ty to the owners..wife and husband..both are amazing chefs and professionals at their craft..highly recommended..i cant eat another food anymore..because of this
K. H.

You can give it a try,
There will be a queue during the peak dining period but it's worth it.

(Translated) Real combination of chicken and chashuwi
The soup was thick with jelly, and the chashu was perfect for both chewyness and thickness.
I felt it a little and I ate dried garlic and pepper
I felt like a bowl of summer snacks 🥰🍜

(Translated) Great chicken soup flavor ramen. Tender meat texture. Great atmosphere. Feeling like ape dumb time in a cafe rather than a ramen shop. Nice staff with good service. Reasonable price. Free cold water to drink. Authentic ramen. Ramen chicken soup flavor soup is very rich, thick and delicious. The noodles are generally the cheapest bowl. As long as it is 13 Australian dollars, it is very cost-effective. There is no free parking nearby. It is more troublesome, but there is a lot of parking on the Northbridge. The staff is very good. Very quiet Chinese also has restaurant atmosphere is very similar to the general Wenqing coffee shop is not noisy or nervous feeling is very good it is recommended for 2 or 3 friends to eat together

Authentic ramen.
